JINYA is our favorite ramen place in the area. The Tongkatsu Spicy and Tongkatsu Black are our favorite. Broth is so delicious but oily so be careful. Noodles were chewy and the seaweed salad was also very good. JINYA bun was a little dry but the meat tastes very good. Would recommend! read more

What a disappointment. My husband and I recently moved to the area and the first time we tried to go here in the evening, there was a line out the door and a 50 minute wait. We thought it must be good, so we went back during lunchtime. To say the food is mediocre would be an overstatement. Our server was hurried and seemed irritable, and you should know they upcharge for EVERYTHING. Substitute scallions for spinach (even though scallions are cheaper on the menu)? They charge. After we ordered, the food came out in under 3 minutes- definitely not cooked-to-order. I had the wonton ramen with chicken broth and it was the greasiest, saltiest bowl of ramen I've ever had. Definitely not the complexity of flavors, spices, and meats that good, quality ramen has. The wontons inside the soup were equally salty and one-note, and the entire bowl was just a bland, oily disaster. This place is the McDonald's of ramen restaurants. Although the food is very good. I've only eaten there twice. My tongue goes numb. I got the Seaweed Salad, Veggie Ramen, the 1st time ...the second time I got seaweed salad and rice. My husband got the Wong Tong Ramen both Times. I believe there is something in the Wong Tong Raman that makes my tongue numb. Although I would like to eat there. I'm in fear of an allergy. read more

So glad to have a good ramen place in the Woodlands! Came in on the day it was opened, and have come back twice since then. I am so happy to finally have a Jinya close to home after going to the one in Midtown so often. Ramen is as good as the one in midtown and doesn't disappoint. Ambience is very nice, warm, and modern. Way over priced for a bowl of ramen noodles with 4 shrimp; $12.95. And, the chicken was over cooked for my liking (chewy & hard to pull apart). 2nd time dining at jinya but a new location. I ordered the sautéed cauliflower first. It was a bit sour and I didn't think it was going to be that sour but the pinenuts were great. Then I received my creamy vegan bowl ramen. It was super delicious and I highly recommended this bowl to all vegan/vegetarians. Unfortunately for me the downside was there was just way too much tofu and not enough veggies. I honestly felt like it should've just been called the tofu ramen bowl. So maybe if you want to order this, ask for half the serving of tofu. Unfortunately they charge extra if you tried to swap out some tofu for veggies which I think it's bit much.
