    Chicken ramen
    Aneesa M.

Sometimes all you want is a bowl of ramen that reminds you of home (LA) and that's exactly what we got. I like the thin chewy noodles at Jinya and the speed of service. We got the chicken ramen which was a solid 9/10

Not the best Ramen I've ever had but still good. I'm used to Ramen having way more in the bowl than what you'd have to add-on. Drinks were beautifully crafted and I'd might return for just those. The service left something to be desired. We were originally sat outside per our request. The seats were not very comfortable, but the biggest issue is our server seemed to disappear. Dropped off drinks and didn't return. We had to flag down the host to take our order and moved inside with better chairs. From there we had numerous servers assisting us with our table. Not that they came over a crazy amount but a different server to drop off food, one to refill water and one to check out.

So I recently came here on Wednesday and I seen this place before back in Arizona never tried to until I moved here and I got seated right away got water. The guy I have was very nice. Suggested what I want to eat and asked me if I had any allergies which is very thoughtful I got the wonton chicken Ramen, which was very delicious and with the side of rice and fresh garlic, which was good. I enjoyed so much and I got extra noodles as well too. That made me happy I will continue to come over here.

Loved it! On the pricey side($20 per ramen bowl) but the portions were generous. Kids enjoyed the kids meal that comes with a lollipop and icecream. Loved my creamy vegetarian ramen. The spicy chicken ramen had plenty of meat as well. Ambience is typical for a taken place. Nothing fancy but spacious and clean. Parking is plenty and the service was quick as well. I really did not find anything to complain about this place. Definitely coming back.

I've been to this location multiple times and always get the Spicy Chicken Ramen. Its a must try. The only feedback I would give the team is about their main door. Everytime it opens a gush of cold air freezes everyone inside. They can construct another another door and space between the 2 doors to avoid this like a lot of places do. This will improve customer experience.

    - Disappointing yuzu shio [Update from June 2025] - Food: 3 stars Price: 2 stars Service: 2 stars Ambiance: 3 stars Overall: 2.5 stars It's super strange but this side of the mall have really slow business, so it's something when this place lasted so long despite management changes several times.. their menu seems slightly different again from the last time I came here. My husband ordered the JINYA tonkotsu black for $20 and I got the chicken yuzu shio delight for $20. The prices are higher than other places by a dollar or two. We asked low sodium for both bowls, and his was fine. Mine barely had any yuzu taste. The soup also wasn't very refreshing like the one from kizuki. The portion wasn't particularly big to reflect the $1 or $2 difference from other places either, so it was quite disappointing. I think the vegan ramen I had last time was much better, and this one just made me never want to come back again. I guess I will go elsewhere for shio ramen, such as kizuki or santouka. Overall the dining experience was fine, we finished eating in less than 30 minutes and the ramen came out fast as they don't usually have much business before noon on weekdays. However, the waiter gave us the bill but never checked on us even though I put down my cc right in front of his face. I went to the bathroom and it's still not touched, so I had to wave him down for it. I'd say the service is also lacking as well. I guess we will come back in a year to see how things are if they can keep surviving lol...

Loved the ramen, very flavorful broth and noodles. Salmon sushi was amazing, along with the Kiwi sparkler!! Servers were so kind and treated us like family!! Overall very comforting environment.

Been to Jinya probably around 5 times now and it's always been good! Just a good place with good ramen and lots of parking space. I got a regular sized Chicken Chashu bowl and it was well portioned with a good ratio of rice, meat and veggies. Service is fast and there's lots of seating available inside. The place is also clean.

We moved from Las Vegas to Southern WA and Jinya was our go to spot for so long, so it's become a real treat when we find ourselves far enough north to get it. The food was soooo good. The creamy vegan broth (I sub my pork broth for it) is killer. And whatever sauce they're using on the salmon don is mouthwatering good. It was fairly busy on a Sunday evening so we got seared at the little bar area. It was pretty cozy and the service was great. They were on top of everything from start to finish. Love it!

    Charsu Rice Bowl

My sister and I decided to try this place for lunch and we both thought it was ok. The service was average, the person who took our answer couldn't really answered any of our questions and they didn't really do much. Food wise, we got: Tonkotsu 2.0 ramen + pork chasu rice bowl combo Ramen - the broth was supposed to be thicker but I didn't think so, and for me, it got saltier as I eat more of it so not my favorite. Rice bowl was standard - it was fine, but nothing really stood out. The salad that came with the rice bowl was pathetic looking though and didn't taste that good. Price is a little high in my opinion for what you get but it could be because of inflation these days. $18 for the ramen and $11.5 for the small rice bowl --- for me, it would be more reasonable if the ramen was like $15 and the rice bowl was $9... Overall, eh.

Ramen was delicious! Quantities were super filling, loved both the spicy and creamy broths.

It's my second most favorite ramen bar in the Seattle area and the food is always great. I especially appreciate the quick and efficient service

    JINYA Tonkotsu Black
    Erin H.

JINYA Tonkotsu Black is the way to go. Really good flavor in the broth and the meat was nice and tender. Egg and noodles had good consistency too. Definitely the best ramen I've had on the Eastside! I had Ramen Danbo recently, and I think the quality and flavor of my Tonkotsu Black was the same! But this saves me the trouble of going to Seattle and waiting in that line! Will definitely be coming back again, and I've already recommended to a lot of my friends! Small place, but enough seats that I wouldn't expect it to get TOO busy with the location it's at. Parking is free and plentiful

Now that's out of the way, Santouka is pretty straightforward - they sell different kinds of ramen and have various appetizers. They also have dipping ramen! Their ramen comes in 3 different sizes and the menu describes the differences (ie more meat, more noodles, etc). I got the karage and it came with a side of mayo and spicy mayo. The texture was crispy and the chicken was juicy. The ramen was pretty solid and the broth was very rich and flavorful. I appreciated that the food came pretty quickly after ordering. Santouka was a quick in and out for lunch. They also have special deals for students - ie discounts, free appetizers, free teas.

This one is completely different, being full service with a much larger, expanded menu. The interior is modern and the service snappy. I've only eaten ramen at Santouka before, but they were advertising katsu curry as the summer special, necessitating me to order that instead given my love for the dish. Tonkatsu Curry ($17.50) - The rice seems to be a higher quality short grain, with a superior mouthfeel as compared to typical Nishiki or Calrose medium-grain rice used by most Japanese restaurants in the US. In this case, however, it's cooked with a little too much water, rendering the rice mushier than expected. The curry is not good at all, almost offensively so. It's thin and watery, with as dilute of a curry spiced flavor as possible. It's like a gritty and unpleasant apple sauce in mouthfeel - in fact, my guess is that they do grate a ton of unripe apple into the curry. So much that it gives bitter tartness to the dish, but not any apple flavor or sweetness. Bizarre. The tonkatsu is decent. It's thinly pounded, relatively crisp on the exterior, and is tender with no tough or fatty bits inside. They drizzle it with tonkatsu sauce which doesn't go well with the curry in my opinion. Although given how flavorless the curry soup is, it might actually be needed here just to boost the flavors up somewhat. On top of the rice,, they include a slice of narutomaki, two slightly fried pieces of red bell pepper and an entire ramen egg, cut in half. The egg is tender but with both yolk and white completely set. It's a very interesting choice in toppings - not typically found in katsu curry dishes. It gives the dish a ramen fusion type of feeling, as befitting of a ramen shop. (2/5) The curry was genuinely one of the worst I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I probably should have stuck to the ramen. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

We came back another time on a weekday, still a big line, but a bit shorter. We waited about 45 mins before our turn came. Ordered: 1) Classic Ramen (Regular, Mild, Thick noodles): I wanted to share with my 5 year old. I felt the broth could have been thicker. It was a bit light and not very filling for me, compared to other ramen places I have been to back in California. The flavor was definitely good though. Apparently there was some mix-up, because I felt they gave us medium spicy, my husband's ramen (medium spicy) and ours tasted exactly the same. It ended up being too spicy for my kid. She hardly ate any noodles, complaining it was spicy even after I separated them from the broth. I didn't complain to the restaurant since they were super busy that day, and honestly it was almost 10PM and we were starving and out of patience. 2) Classic Ramen (Regular, Medium Spicy, Thick noodles) 3) Vegan Gyoza: This was good. My 5 year old finished it all. 4) Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream: We loved it. We got 2 pieces in one order and savored every bite. The restaurant had limited seating and had typical ramen place vibes. The servers weren't very attentive; we kept trying to find someone who could help us at multiple instances. They seemed super busy and short-staffed. So not a great experience in terms of service, but for the food I would give a solid 4/5.

I love Japanese curry, and was so stoked to see such a unique curry on the menu (made with dark chocolate so it gives a richer flavor). $5 more to add shredded cabbage and miso soup; I definitely think this is worth it because there's no other fresh greens in the entree. It helps cut the heavy, fried-ness of the katsu and provides a different texture. My shrimp (ebi) katsu curry was so flaky and crispy, which is so hard to find at katsu shops where the breading is cakey and falls off the protein. However, the shrimp to flakes ratio was off and I could hardly taste the shrimp or know when I bit shrimp versus the flakes because there was so much breading. This wasn't a problem for the pork katsu, though! The portion size is massive; half the plate is rice, and the other half is the curry. For $29 for the shrimp katsu ($34 total pre tax and tip after adding the shredded cabbage and miso soup combo), I think it's worth the price if you're starving or sharing. I think it'd be cool if they did a protein combo where you pick two proteins, especially because they have a variety of pork options. This would help people justify their cost while tasting more of the menu with less overwhelming commitment. Servers are kind and attentive, and they don't rush you when you order or need more time. The interior is beautiful and well-lit with bar seating, tables and booths, and high top tables too. I'd come again if I wanted to share a katsu entree with a friend!
