Terrible service and rude. I ordered on DoorDash for self pick up. I waited in person here for over 30 minutes. Many people arrived after me and all picked up their food promptly. I told the waitress I have been waiting for a long time. She said yeah so what. Turned out my food was ready long ago. It had been on the counter this whole time and the 3 waiters milling around, no one bothered to check! Please note that it's more like a night club than restaurant. Extremely loud heavy metal music and people had to speak even louder. The entire place was just very noisy and uncomfortable.

The host Raven (Jones?) DOES NOT PLAY! That's MOTHER!!!!!! She was so conversational while she got our table ready and was so accommodating. It wasn't as busy for it being a Saturday. I got the chicken wonton ramen and it was to die for! I also got a lycheetini and it saved my life! Music wasn't too loud but still played bangers. The mood was fire. I'm so sad I'm only visiting, will definitely be back again.

I love Jinya! One of my favorite ramen chains in the DMV. Yesterday was the first time I went to the Arlington location in Ballston Quarter as a weekday date night with my gf. Haven't been to Jinya in a few years but recently moved to Arlington and was excited to give it a shot. My server was great I didn't catch his name though. I've had their spicy Chicken and Tonkotsu ramens before and I was excited to get those again. But my gf has a shellfish allergy and naturally I want to kiss her. So the server disclosed to me (which even I didn't know as last time I went was like 2 years ago to a Jinya and didn't know my gf then) that all but like 4 of their ramen bowls (more on that) had some type of ingredient that was not good for people with shellfish allergies. So the four ramen options she could get were the new Birria ramen + the three vegetarian options. She was disappointed as she wanted to try the pork broth but she settled for a pork chasu rice bowl. Me, not having a shellfish allergy but wanting to kiss my gf without causing an allergic reaction decided to try the Birria ramen. Normally I'm a 4/5 or 5/5 with Jinya's ramen but the Birria one was a 3/5 for me. Not the best ramen they have. The birria beef was tender though. But ever since I left Jinya my stomach has been at war with me. I've felt nausea, I've had diarrhea and my stomach just really hurts! I've never experience this ever going to a Jinya location. But I don't advise getting the Birria ramen unless you want to experience uncomfortable pain

Located in the ballston mall, this Jinya ramen bar location has a fantastic energy. The bar opens right into the mall's downstairs shared space, making it easy to come and go and mix and match as desired. We were seated immediately in a booth large enough for our party. Our server was lovely, very kind, and eager to assist. The crunchy cucumber salad was fantastic. So crisp and perfect as an appetizer. The spicy chicken ramen wasn't actually that spicy in my opinion, I added a good amount of hot sauce and requested some additional garlic as a topper that really helped. The Chicken Chashu Bowl carried its flavor very well, I did eventually need a spoon to scrape the bowl clean.

I love this place probably more than I should. I come here all the time since it's conveniently located and I've never had a bad experience. Whether I said it at a table or a bar, come with a kid or a coworker or by myself, I always have great service and the food is consistently pretty good. My favorite items here are: the shrimp, wonton Ramen, and the premium to tonkotsu red. I have found the spice measurements to be a little inconsistent, so I will usually not opt for anything higher than a one. But they have spicy sauce wherever you sit, so you can adjust it yourself. They also have seasoning sauce, which is great. I highly recommend getting The fresh garlic to add to your Ramen, because it's delicious and it's free. A bowl is going to run you about $20-$25, but it's very filling. The ambience inside is usually a bit dark, but the music is always relatively loud. But it's a cool, casual vibe. You can usually get in and out in about 35 minutes or so. I would recommend if you like Ramen.

I love Jinya and have always had great experiences--until this location. This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. My friend and I were served food quickly, which is typical, so we began eating. Shortly after, the table next to us realized it was actually their order. Ironically, we had ordered the same dishes with slight modifications. The manager came over, visibly annoyed, and said he would remake their food because we had already touched the bowls. When our correct order arrived, I noticed a bug in my soup. I called the manager over. His response was, "What's wrong now?" I asked him what he thought was in the bowl. He took my chopstick, broke the bug in half, and said, "It's just seasoning." There was no salt, pepper, or spice tray at our table--and what was in the bowl was clearly not seasoning. I'll add the picture for reference. He took the bowl and disappeared. For 20 minutes, we watched him walk around the restaurant without returning. No apology. No follow-up. Nothing. When the server brought the check, I asked to speak with the manager again. I explained that after two major issues--being served the wrong food and then finding a roach in my soup--he never once apologized or checked in with either table. His response was that my "hostile behavior" made him not want to come back. For context, my brother is a manager/chef, and I understand difficult customers. But I was not one of them. I did not make a scene or interfere with anyone else's dining experience. But there was a roach in my soup. There was no solution offered. I never ate my meal and was somehow blamed for the situation. That is why I'm leaving this review.

Came here by chance. It's down in the food court area of Ballston Quarter, but it's a full service restaurant. It's well decorated and has a nice vibe. Our server was great and took us through the menu since it was our first time there. I'd had a large lunch so opted for some lighter far with seaweed salad and crispy rice with tuna. Both were good but I've had better elsewhere. I would go back again to try their ramen. Everything was very reasonably priced as well.

I've been wanting to go to Jinya for awhile and I had a great experience after going! Two of my friends and I went on a weekday and we were able to just walk in. The restaurant is very nicely organized and decorated with the vibe feeling like a nice place for a sit down dinner. I got the Vegetarian Jinya bun and Flying V harvest ramen. Both were very tasty! I would recommend. Being vegetarian some places don't have a lot of options for ramen, but Jinya really delivered with lots of options and I truly enjoyed my meal.

Location is inside Ballston's shopping mall ground floor. We were seated quickly after our party arrived. The menu looked very interesting and I want to return to try their cocktail drinks! The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive checking in on our table. I had the recommended Tonkotsu and the Birria ramen (packed either a lot of flavors if you've ever had birria tacos)! Both were great. I recommend checking out this location. You can walk off your meal with a little shopping afterwards.

    Premium red level 3/10

Having been to Japan and being from NYC originally I know what good ramen is. This was sadly not it. We stopped in on a cold rainy Saturday night. I got the 2010 original tonkotsu and my Japanese bf got the premium tonkotsu red at level 3/10. We also got the brussel sprouts tempura to share. Both bowls of ramen came out first, and the appetizer followed 10 minutes later. My first sip of the broth I was surprised by how porky and flavorful it was. But soon after I was hit by the extreme saltiness. I liked the thickness of the noodles, and the chashu and egg were cooked perfectly, but there just wasn't enough noodles or chashu in my opinion for the price point. Even still, it was almost impossible for me to finish just because of how salty it was. My boyfriend hated the premium red. The broth just tasted literally of spicy bean sprouts. It was one-note and just not good. He finished his noodles, but left sad and still hungry. (We stopped at a nearby Taco truck to cheer him up after) The brussel sprouts tempura is a nice idea - the crispiness was on point but it wasn't seasoned enough. It also didn't come with a sauce or anything. It would be improved with a bit of salt/seasoning in the tempura batter, or at least with a sauce on the side. The ambiance is trying to hard to be cool and hip and club-like while also having sports on the TV behind the bar. Just too much going on for a spot that should specialize in ramen. Service was super slow. We sat waiting around more than half the time we were there. I did download the jinya app, so it's nice to get points with each meal. However, not sure I'll ever be back - even for a free appetizer. If I crave ramen I'd rather make the trek to menya hosaki or daikaya.

Friendly service from our server! It was not that busy when we came but it was nice to come in from the heat into AC. We got greeted and seated quickly. Food also came pretty quickly. I liked my tonkatsu black ramen. Added an extra egg. Egg is good but I like eggs from places like seoul spice better. Overall though it was very good and we will be back.

I couldn't recommend this spot more for happy hour! I ordered the lychee martini and when the bartender presents it to you, they bring over a blow torch, a bubble appears and then it pops and it's ready to go (so cool). Also it tasted amazing, so amazing that I ordered a second one. For a snack, I ordered the fried chicken and I'll definitely be ordering that again. Overall the happy hour deals are solid! The service was also excellent. If I lived closer I'd love to try it out for dinner. Maybe one day!

A cute stop in the mall for Ramen. They have a pretty diverse menu, which is always nice to see. The cucumbers salad was a little small, but pretty tasty. The spicy chicken ramen was non-spicy at all, I added plenty of Sriracha to actually make it spicy. It wasn't the best Ramen I've ever had, but I enjoyed it since I was feeling a little under the weather. The chicken chashu bowl was really good with the soft boiled egg and all the toppings that came in it, The chicken was seasoned nicely. The place was empty on Tuesday night which meant service was good and it tries to give a lounge vibe even though it is in a mall. The music was popping and they created a good vibe!

Jinya has jumped the shark. Used to be pretty good for a chain but now the servers don't even know that they're serving. Ramen is average.

Don't hate us; that was spread over two visits. Everything tasted great, though next time I think we'll graduate to the real menu. The wines we've tried so far were either inexpensive or not bad. For inexpensive, I've had glasses of their $3 Tempranillo. While it wasn't great, I've paid a lot re for much worse. For "not bad", my wife had the $10 Buehler Cab. After it opened up for a bit it was quite drinkable.

I went for the first time back in October and I had a good time. The drinks were competitively price for Arlington proportions but the food AND cocktail menu are just painfully limited. If you're ordering just standard bar drinks like a domestic draft beer or a shot of tequila you're fine, but a grilled cheese sandwich on the menu? Seriously? The biggest attraction of this bar is the mechanical bull. But the caveat is that you need to get a ticket to ride it which costs $5. Not terrible pricing but considering PBR at Power Plant Live in Baltimore has a mechanical bull (and more space but will get to that in a bit) it feels like a slap in the face. But again it's $5 and I'm going to presume that money goes towards maintenance of the mechanical bull ride anyway. Also depending on what day and time you go be prepared to be packed like sardines. There's three rooms one of which is a dedicated dance floor. And the room farthest from the entrance, about 85% of the room is taken up by the mechanical bull. The first time I went there was no room in the mechanical bull room because they blocked off 5% of it for some group party reservation. We went up to the rooftop which was a bit more spacious but naturally if it's cold outside or raining you're obviously not going up there. Overall, BOE has potential but a limited food menu, and even more limited cocktail menu, and small indoor space makes this an easy bar to skip when there's a line out the door.

When it said double, I wasn't sure if that meant double the tater tots, but that meant actually two hot dogs. Really good. I also had the other special, the two pancakes. I meant to get the sausage, but they gave me the bacon instead. It was great. Well worth it. I thought that was the better value of the meals. They got a lot of board and card games. Very laid-back atmosphere, 90s and early 2000s pop on the music, comfortable seating, and good food. The prices were reasonable. This is one area that I think we are just going to have to deal with for quite some time. The give-and-take of prices,. Smothered tater tots, pancakes, two hotdogs with some tater tots, and three drinks came out to ~$55. NOT. BAD. Was it worth it? If this had been just a normal restaurant, I would've said no. It would've been more worth it if it had been about $40. But... nobody made us pay to use the board games, or the card games, and we sat there for three hours and had a really good time. So based on that, the fact they provide a venue for playing these games and hanging out for a few hours makes it all worth it. Really strange thing was that there was this balding guy with a beard that randomly showed up as a waiter. We had been dealing with a bartender, so this guy, kind of rude came on to us and we weren't sure what to do with him. He kind of blocked me from paying the bartender. Rude. Not a hangout spot every day, but certainly once a week, maybe once a month or more, definitely a place to meet up if you got a group. I was really surprised by the diversity of the people that were there. A lot of chess players, a whole table of middle-aged women, lots of different people playing games. I would give them five stars, but not quite perfect. The rude guy at the end was so odd. Otherwise, great location, great parking, the food was good, good value, and fun.
