Where can you have a breakfast or lunch or brewsky or post golf snack in a breezy fresh air environment with view of the golf course? Alameda's Corica Golf Course of course. We sat outside in the glassed off section with large overhead umbrellas relaxing while having Cinnamon French Toast and Crab Benedict. Both were tasty. Service was attentive even though we were outside. Happy Sunday breakfast / brunch. read more

I recently ordered food at Jim's On the Course in Alameda and had a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The chicken and waffles dish was disappointing--the chicken tasted dry and somewhat stale, and the waffle was overcooked and burnt. We also ordered the NY steak and specifically requested it be cooked with no pink, but it arrived with pink in the center. For dessert, the apple pie was dry and lacked flavor. While the service was pleasant, the quality and preparation of the food need improvement. Based on this visit, I would be hesitant to return. read more

Been here a few times and it was mid for the most part. (Service and outdoor seating). Came back in a while and they had outdoor large umbrellas to cover up the area to protect you from the sun. Service was prompt for a Saturday brunch hour. Waiters were polite and helpful. Food came in 10 minutes and the server checked in with us for the time. May start coming here again more often. This restaurant is located on a golf course (just like the name) and it gives cozy, mom & pop vibes. We came for breakfast and love how they have so many savory and sweet items. I got their special combo so I could have the best of both worlds. Staff is super friendly and nice! read more

I visited Jim's on the Course on Saturday, July 11, 2026, around 11:00 a.m. with a friend who is an Alameda native. Her family has ties to Jim, the founder, and she has loved this restaurant for years, so we were looking forward to breakfast. The food itself was enjoyable. I had the classic diner breakfast, and the outdoor patio overlooking the golf course and distant foothills was beautiful. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by how management handled a simple menu misunderstanding. The Vegetarian Omelette is listed as including fruit and is also in a section where you choose two sides: toast and either fries, hash browns, or fruit. To avoid ordering duplicate fruit, I specifically asked our waiter if I could choose fries since the meal already came with fruit. He agreed, so I ordered fries. About 20 minutes into our meal, I realized the fruit never arrived. When we asked the waiter, he initially said he'd bring it, but then returned and explained that his manager said I had chosen fries instead of fruit. We explained the conversation we'd had when ordering, and he said he would speak with the manager again. The manager then came to our table, and what should have been a simple conversation turned into a nearly 10-minute argument. He acknowledged that the menu was confusing and even mentioned that our waiter was on only his second day, so he understood how the misunderstanding happened. Despite admitting the confusion, he refused to provide the fruit unless I paid an additional $1. My friend finally asked, "Is all of this really worth saving $1?" His response was that he couldn't understand what it would take to make us happy. At that point, we ended the conversation because it was clear he completely missed the issue. This was never about a dollar--it was about resolving a reasonable misunderstanding with good customer service. I still tipped our waiter because he was polite, apologetic, and clearly sympathetic throughout the situation. My friend tells me Jim's on the Course has always had a great reputation, and based on the food and setting, I can understand why. I sincerely hope the owner sees this review because the current manager's approach to customer service left a lasting negative impression. It was, without question, one of the poorest customer service experiences I've had at a restaurant. read more

Jim's On The Course is a nice place to sit down for a meal or drinks on the Corica Park golf course on Bay Farm Island. This place is of the same brand as the Jim's on the main island, on Lincoln Ave., off of Park St. Minutes away from Oakland Airport too, so a good place to grab breakfast before heading out of town. First and foremost, service is great. Friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful location overlooking the golf course green. They have a sizable patio covered by large umbrellas, a great place to hang out on a nice day. The food is good, standard breakfast/brunch and lunch fare, and I believe they serve breakfast all day. As my partner noted, the patio is reminiscent of the many outdoor cafes we used to spend time at in Eastern Europe, where people hang out relaxing, socializing and living life right. Check out this place if you're on Bay Farm, or flying through Oakland Airport, it's worth a visit. read more

We have know about this place for years but just never made it here until today. It's a golf course restaurant that clearly caters to more than just golfers. Open from 7am to 7 pm with a full bar and extensive menu. Between the golf course, driving range and restaurant the parking lot was packed mid morning. Doesn't anyone work anymore!!!! Standard breakfast, lunch and dinner fare in a nice setting. The portions are huge. I saw a club house sandwich delivered to the next table that could serve a family of 4. We sat inside this time but as the weather warms will prolly sit outside under the massive umbrellas and watch the planes from Oakland Airport and the wildlife. A few years ago there was a nesting pair of bald eagles until a storm trashed their nest. Nice place. Espicially like the old school diner coffee mug. We will be back. read more

Jim's On The Course is one popular restaurant. We came on a Sunday for a late breakfast/early lunch, and their tables were filled with customers both outdoors and indoors. We were fortunate to wait for only 10 minutes before a table became available for our family of seven. Service became much slower after that. They appeared to be understaffed. Maybe some employees called in sick or something. I was okay with the wait because I had actually eaten something earlier in the morning. Some other members of the family were a bit restless though. I also enjoyed watching the football game that was showing on the big screen tv. Took almost an hour after we were seated to get served our food. I had Jim's Breakfast Sandwich with Hash Browns. Just remembered that it was supposed to come with toast. They did not bring me any. Oh well. The sandwich and hash browns did taste good at least. Although service was slow, our family still had a good time. I'm sure we will be back from time to time. read more

Date: 3/9/2024 Time: 10:15 AM 56° Partly cloudy On the second Saturday of each month, a group of us ladies come here for breakfast. Last month it was Chinese New Year, so I was not able to be there for the get together. Compared to my review of last year, I decided to order something else on the menu. Jim's super burrito was okay. I wasn't pleased with the Arnold Palmer. It was more like iced tea. However, yesterday I had their chicken fried steak with country gravy, eggs (soft scrambled), freshly grated hash brown potatoes and toast. My beverage was an Arnold Palmer. All right! Breakfast and beverage were much better. The chicken fried steak was moist and not salty. With the country gravy, it was indeed on point. My soft scrambled eggs were perfect, just the way I like it. The portion of food was generous such that I could only eat half of it. The other half was leftover for dinner. As usual, service is very good. The waitstaff know we ladies are there on the second Saturday for breakfast. They are friendly, helpful and extremely patient with us. I can be fickle at times, not knowing what I feel like having for breakfast. However, since that chicken fried steak was delicious, I know exactly what I am having next month. read more

Went to Jim's on the Course for only my second visit and had a wonderful time. You can eat indoors or outdoors on the huge patio, which is right next to the first hole of the golf course, so you can watch golfers teeing up and hitting their first shot. Since the weather was sunny and warm we sat outside and enjoyed the expansive view of the links and the view of the Oakland hills in the distance. It is great to feel like you are out in the country, while actually in the city. In fact, since Jim's is right near the Oakland Air port, it is the perfect place to eat lunch or dinner, before catching a flight. For lunch, they offer a great selection of sandwiches. I had the pastrami and swiss cheese on sourdough bread which was quite delicious. My guests had the club sandwich and a B L T with avocado, which they both deemed quite good, and as it was their first visit, they both said they want to return. Saving the best for last, they make great drinks for a very low price! I had two big Martini's for $6.50 each. A Bloody Mary was a bit higher at $7.50, but still quite a bargain. The large selection of beer, was $6.00 and up for a pint. Finally the service was quick and friendly, with a very attentive staff, so we left a $25.00 tip on a $98.00 bill! read more

My family frequents Jim's on the Course. It's reliable with a wide variety of options. Staff is friendly and we always leave happy!

It was a little hard to find the restaurant since the over grown trees hid the sign, but we managed to find it. A hidden gem inside this golf course. Staff are so friendly & happy to take time for my very social father. I even got a chance to take a photo with Demitius, the manager & grandson of Jim's on the Course. Everyone is so engaged & personable, that this is the perfect restaurant for my father. Orders: California Club sandwich $17.99 comprises of a triple decker w/sliced Turkey breast, thick bacon, sliced avocado, crisp lettuce & sliced tomato. For the side, I decided on minestrone soup. Soup was nice and hearty & had plenty of vegetables, great flavor as well. This sandwich brought back memories of having a classic & very filling sandwich with quality ingredients. A definite item to order at Jim's. Reuben- corn beef on rye with melted Swiss & sauerkraut. I decided on ordering fries as a side. Nice thin slices of meat with a perfectly melted Swiss cheese. The meat was not chewy or marbled so it was easy to bite through it & enjoy all the flavors this sandwich has to offer. A great place to stop by if you enjoy golfing or just want some good old fashioned conversation & food. read more

The restaurant is at the golf course, and anyone can come in and eat here like a normal restaurant. You don't have to have played a round of golf to be seated. I come here with my pickle pals after a morning of pickleball. It can get busy, so patience will serve you well. The servers are always so kind and attentive. We usually sit outside when the weather is good, and it feels great to be with good friends, good food and good weather. You can order breakfast and lunch items all day, it's great. You know, I have been eating at Jim's on the Course for years and I've never been disappointed. They are a grill and that is the standard to which I have rated them. The severs have always been friendly, the service is always acceptable and the food hearty. Their breakfast here is so good, that I rarely try anything else. Of course, I like the chicken fried steak breakfast the best and get this most of the time! My wife likes them as well, their breakfasts and salads are her favorite. Alameda has Mexican, Asian, Italian and all of the other standard ethnic offerings. Sometimes I just crave good ol' American food, and yes, add gravy please. Jim's satisfies my craving nicely. Most of the time with the Alameda weather, we dine inside. It's got an average coffee shop ambiance with lots of tables and a bar tucked into the corner. I do love the view of the golf course which transforms the place into something more than an average coffee shop. On this day, it was warm in Alameda and we were offered a table on the patio. You know, that was really nice; I think I'll have the iced tea please. Hearty American food, good service, nice ambiance at a reasonable price. What else is to want! read more

WHEN: Sat @11am PARKING: There was a good amount of parking and we found one quick in their lot. It seemed to be a busy sunny day and lots people were here. There's plenty of seating both outdoors and indoors. However, if you sit outdoors, bring a hat because the tables have no umbrella. They seemed a bit understaffed here but they sure are working hard, having to run inside and outside a lot. So service will be slow for a diner. Lots of options here, but since it's our first time, here's what we had: SPECIAL #2 - $14.99 Golden Waffle, 2 Eggs, with choice of: 4 strips of bacon or 4 sausage links of 4 sausage patties. I had my eggs scrambled and although there seems to be at least 3 eggs worth, it was just okay. I prefer my scrambled eggs more runny so these felt over cooked. I chose Sausage Patties and these little patties were pretty good. As for the Waffles, oh man I loved it! It's what I expect it to be: thick, crispy on the outside, slightly fluffy towards the center, warm so the butter melts. What a treat! Oh and the dish comes with lots of butter and syrup on the side. I don't know if its real maple or just the cheap pancake syrup. SPECIAL #6 - $14.99 Two Pancakes, Two Eggs with choice of: 4 strips of bacon or 4 sausage links or 2 sausage patties. Eggs were fried and lovely, the sausage links were salty and greasy as expected, which means they were good. The pancake are soft, fluffy, and huge so leftovers were had. I actually enjoyed myself here. I can see how this place can be great for families because of all the space they can run around in. There's a huge selection of foods so it may be easy for the kids. read more

I was in this past month and the food was good. Most of the workers were very pleasant, but I will say one of the waitresses is VERY loud which made the experience not as pleasant. As a customer I should not be able to hear what is being spoken from across the room. She was talking to one of the male waiters. I understand English and Spanish, as I'm sure many customers do as well, so it'd be nice to tell to your workers when conversations are not appropriate for work settings. Other than that the food was good and experience overall nice. I will likely be back soon. read more

The food seems to be getting worse and the prices are definitely increasing. I'll cut them slack on the service because getting good help is tough these days but the interior and carpet haven't changed in 20 years and the food is basic. Service was horrible horrible.. ! The servers here seemed nice but mostly just lip service. We check in to the front desk, the lady who worked there said "Choose any seats, we will follow you". We waited for 20 minutes, no one came to wipe our table let alone asked what we want to order. We had to waive a few times to grab the server attention. We ordered water without ice, the server gave us water with ice. The Irish Coffee which came with whipped cream did not come with a straw, so I had to stir the whipped cream with the knife. We mentioned a few times that our table need to be wiped, none of these servers care. Service was super super slow, our server wasn't attentive at all!!! Please ! Please improve your service ! Jim's On the Course in my opinion should match how the food at the original Jim's tastes. Meaning same recipes, about the same proportions, and same appearance. I noticed immediately that my corned beef hash looked "different" than usual. I found out the corned beef hash this restaurant uses is from a can. I asked the manager to confirm that was true and long story short, he said HE DOESN'T KNOW and the chef is having a bad day and he'd relay the comment to the chef tomorrow. But this isn't the chef's problem, it's MANAGEMENT. I'm grateful that the chef simply shows up and cooks for so many customers. I'm still dumbfounded that Jim's On the Course uses canned corned beef hash as compared to Jim's on Lincoln which I believe is made from scratch. If I had known, it just comes from a can ahead of time, I would have ordered a Reuben like I encouraged my friend to order. I think the best part of my rare appearance at this location is that our water server, Steven, noticed every time my water glass was low and filled it. His personality and the way he approached our table was smooth and thoughtful. Thanks so much Steven. read more

Food was great but we ordered pick up so not sure what service was like. Would go back to dine in.

Hubby and I were hanging out and one of our friends asked in a group chat that Hubby is in if anybody was down to go grab breakfast. We agreed since we were hungry and our friend suggested Jim's On The Course. We have never been there but he said that the food is great. We met up with him there and we were brought back by the hostess to a table inside. Everybody there was kind to us, and seeing a lot of golfers out there was different and very interesting. Hubby ordered the Special #2 and I had the Italian omelet with a mimosa. The portion was a lot! I barely finished my food, my friend ended up helping me finish it. It was delicious and I love how the hash browns were crispy, just the way I like it. Very unique place, would definitely come back to try their other items. read more

Pros are the huge parking lot, the fact that it's located close by on Bayfarm and that there's plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The food is meh. Their portions are huge but it's also pricey for what you get. I've gotten cold fries before, and their eggs benedict is lacking. 3 stars because their service is incredibly slow...on multiple occasions it's taken a long time just to get menus, water, you name it. If you're coming to eat, be prepared to wait. There have been times when I debated between eating here (because it's closer to home) vs. eating on Main Island (takes longer to drive there and back) and I should have opted for the latter. read more

We go to Jims on the Course because of the overall vibe. We live closer to Jims on Park Street but there's just something about the location that is preferable - maybe you just have to experience it for yourself (ﾟヮﾟ) The menu is the same as Jims on Park Street, at least from the birds eye view, and quality is the same IMO. Dependent on the day and time you go, parking can be either plentiful or scarce...at least close parking. With the golf course right there, it can get crackin. read more

I'm an Alamedan, homegrown. I've eaten at Jim's (near Park St) and Ole's since 1989. I cannot recommend Jim's on the Course: please go to Ole's. Ole's is by far by favorite brunch place in Alameda. The service here is slow and all over the place, and the sausage patties are gross. If you absolutely want waffles, although I recommend Ole's pancakes, Jim's on the island is your bet. I'm a regular customer at Jim's. I visit almost every weekend with my wife and enjoy the food, scenery, and especially the coffee. This Sunday, it was regular for me-- I went to eat with my wife in the morning, we got breakfast and it was great but it was a little different this time around. A lot of people don't know that I speak Spanish but I do. I had overheard 2 waitresses and 1 waiter gossiping in Spanish which made my wife and I super uncomfortable. One of them, the shorter one, was being super loud and rude so it made my experience that day very uncomfortable. read more

Don't know about the rest of the menu, but the hamburger sliders basically was a frozen patty cut into 4 triangles. Not made or formed. No char flavor, pretty bland. $17.00 for that?
