Came here on a Wednesday around 9am with a party of 8 and a baby and where seated promptly with quick service. I ordered the bacon avocado and light cheese omelet. I'm from cali so I expected a little more avocado but the price was really good around $9 so I didn't complain. The potatoes where shredded almost scalloped and fried in butter which was amazing but definately needed seasoning so I added a ton of their homemade salsa. Everyone ordered breakfast and enjoyed it. Coffee was good too. The only thing that wasn't good was the toast. Every single slice we got was too burned and most of us didn't touch it - what a shame because I love sourdough. We usually pop in here for a quick evening breakfast. Tonight it was way off! We waited a long time for our food. It was funny because my Wife said waiting that long usually means cold food. When we told our waitress that the food was cold she placed blame on the cooks that something was going on with them. We mentioned it to the Manager and he shrugged his shoulders and said sorry and rang up the check. It will be a while before we go back. Poor customer service and below average food. read more

This is a great old-fashioned restaurant that made the whole family happy. The 'Murica feeling was almost palpable in the air and our waitress looked as if she had walked out of a tv sitcom from the 1970s. We loved it. My family and I came here after a crazy day of helping my sister move from Boise to Utah, and we left very impressed. I'll be honest - this place doesn't look like much from the outside. It looks like a second-rate Dennys, which didn't exactly inspire my confidences in what the food or service was going to be like. However, as soon as we were seated and met our server Dylan, my expectations lifted - and those expectations were met above and beyond. I had a steak sandwich, fries, and chicken noodle soup. Each was delicious and filling, and had that "homemade" taste that places like this always claim they have but rarely ever do. Second time I've been at this location in the last 12 months. I came with my two lil' daughters, as we eat out quite a bit. Our server Kaytlin was okay. She didn't do anything wrong, just a bit slow. I ordered a 12oz. New York strip steak and I don't know what it was, but it didn't taste like a New York steak at all. Also, I told Kaytlin to bring it medium rare, but it arrived with almost no pink in the middle. It happens, I get it, but the meat just wasn't tasty... ... bleah ... ... Told Kaytlin to maybe bring me a burger, and that's where it kinda took her forever to get back to me... ... it was a normal Thursday morning, it wasn't packed or anything... ... Out of all the Jims around this one is my favorite one by far. The service was spectacular. We were seated within 5min. I love the pancakes here. I don't know what it is but I've had pancakes in other places and the ones at Jims are my ultimate favorite! The entire breakfast is like your momas cooking quiet delicious. It's got a friendly neighborhood feel to it. Great big windows throughout and the cutest little fireplace. I always have the New York steak, eggs and potatoes and it comes with pancakes. But there omelettes are also great. There over easy eggs are always made to perfection. I have never been disappointed by the food here. And best of all..... there prices are great and there menu is quiet large! Breakfast, lunch or dinner Jims is a for sure win. It's not a fancy place but it sure is a tasty place! Best breakfast on a Sunday. We were extremely impressed with the service. We were sat down in just minutes for 2. The restaurant was packed and we can see why. Our female server Tyler was fantastic. I have driven by this place for many years, and today just seemed to be the day to stop in and give them a try. I was glad I did. We were greeted right upon entering and helped to our table where Jada, our waitress, promptly took our order. I ordered a country scrambler. The food was fantastic. Hit the spot. I could tell there were reals eggs used, with real potatoes as well. Nothing fake about this meal. I got a scone instead of toast, which to my surprised, was worth every penny. Honestly I love Jims. There's really not good breakfast places comparing Jims to IHOP or Denny's I would pick Jims anyway over those. I love the old diner feel with usually the costumers all being older, hahaha I love it though. The waitresses are all extra friendly and always really good. Never had order messed up or mixed up out of the million times I've been here. Now the food! Food is pretty good. It's greasy yes! And somethings you can tell aren't the highest quality but over all your gonna get your money's worth. You get ALOT of food for your money. Me and my wife have gone here for years. I can say usually the staff is VERY NICE and the food is usually very good. But this morning was unacceptable. I found a big hair in my coffee while I was drinking it. Which is not a big deal. I jokingly just mentioned it to my waitress, and said I didn't even need a new cup. Accident happen i said. She said "oh I wonder who's hair that was?" And walked away. Then as I'm finishing my eggs I notice two big hairs on my plate. When she drops off the check I greet her with a smile and mention that the food was good although there was two other hairs in my food. I was VERY VERY friendly. She sarcastically says "um I can tell the manager to give you 10 percent off" and storms off. Then a nice blonde woman came up and said she will be our new waitress because our other one was mad at us. When we went to pay, no discount, no manager, nothing. We weren't expecting any handouts but the fact that she said she would do something, lied about it, talked trash on her customers, and then wasn't an adult enough to talk to us again, says a lot about her. We still left a 50% tip because she was probably having a bad day or something and because that will be the last time we will be eating there. We were so glad that the signage was so clear for Jim's off the Route 15 as we headed south from SLC. The staff, especially Laurie, our server, was great! We enjoyed the Denver omelet and the pancakes and eggs. The food was hot on arrival and Laurie was very attentive to our needs and questions. Thankful to know there are non-chain stops. Just recognize that you are in Utah and not in California getting special coffee, for this is Utah but the place itself is great, welcoming and clean. All was delicious. read more

If you like really heavy greasy spoon kind of food with mostly cheap ingredients, this is the place for you. They do actually use fresh mushrooms in their omelettes. The breakfast potatoes were quite good and made even better with fry sauce. My English muffin was soggy on the bottom and burnt on the top with margarine on it. The waitress was very nice. If you don't have time to read my whole review, suffice it to say this place had the worst food I've had in a long time. I am a bit of a foodie, but I also know not to have high expectations when it comes to these types of diners/family restaurants. I thought I knew what to expect, but it was just so bad I'm still wondering if I just came back from a bad nightmare. First, the menu is really bizarre. The breakfast items look about right, but we were there for lunch. All of the entrees come with a ridiculous amount of sides, i.e. soup AND salad AND veggies AND spaghetti. Why? Why spaghetti? If you want a light lunch, there are no a la carte options. I asked. All I wanted was a fish or steak with a side salad, but no, it has to come with the whole shebang. I settled for the 7 oz steak meal, thinking I'd just box up what I didn't need for later. I got the cream of broccoli soup, the spaghetti, and the salad, and the veggies, all of which came with the meal. I asked for a vinaigrette dressing for my salad, and the waitress said, "uh, well we have like, Italian?" Uh oh. The cream of broccoli came out first and I can only describe it as a weird, tasteless porridge. I have never had a cream of broccoli I couldn't tolerate, even straight out of a can, until today. I politely choked down a couple of bites, then scooted the rest to the side of the table. The side salad was pretty much as I expected: colorless pieces of iceberg lettuce and cucumbers, with a few croutons. Again, I took a couple of polite bites. Unfortunately, this was the best part of my meal. The main course came out all on one plate. A heaping serving of straight-from-the-can beans and carrots, which I didn't touch. The steak appeared to be cooked close enough to medium, which I'd requested, but then I took a bite. It did not even taste like real meat. The flavor had that vomit-like aftertaste, and it was so tough and rubbery. I choked down the one bite somehow, because I didn't want to spit food out in front of my client whom I was dining with. Needless to say, that was the only bite I took. My client had gotten a steak salad, and she likewise didn't touch any of the steak pieces after trying one, and just sat there picking at the lettuce. The spaghetti was also a joke. Over cooked, mushy noodles, and the sauce was a brown liquid with a strange flavor. Very unappetizing to look at, so there were no surprises that it also tasted disgusting. So there I was with this enormous meal, with not one single item on it that I could stomach, and in the awkward position of having to tell the waitress, as nicely as I could, that none of it was good enough to eat. The waitress was nice enough to suggest that I choose something else from the menu in exchange. At this point, I was very doubtful that anything on the menu would be palatable, but I didn't have the gumption to just ask for a refund. I really do try not to be rude at all costs. I ended up asking for the western bacon cheeseburger to go, thinking you can't really go wrong with bacon, can you? I told her not to worry about any of the sides. Did I mention the service had been extremely slow the whole time? This was fine for us, because my client and I had a lot to talk about. But that is why I had to order my burger to go. So now I'm sitting at home with the burger sitting in my fridge, stomach growling, but also having no desire to touch a burger that came from a place with such poor taste. Still trying to decide if I want to give it a try or just throw it away. If you are hoping for some greasy, salty, satisfying diner food, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE! If you're starving and looking forward to stuffing your face with American food goodness, you will be sorely disappointed. This place is for people who have never known how good food can be, who, when served cardboard posing as meat, wouldn't even notice the difference. I try to be a positive person and give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but I really do believe I am doing a public service by warning people away from this restaurant. This food is not fit for humans, and if this is the quality of "food" that they think is ok to serve, then this restaurant does not deserve to stay in business. read more

Went to eat at this restaurant as we were down in Utah County. The food was phenomenal! Paige the waiter is the best waiter in the country. The pancakes were the best we've ever had and the service was excellent. We went there for our son's birthday it was a perfect ending to a day at the GRiD race track.
