Every dish is flavorful and thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients. And I have to call this out specifically: their Fred's Garage habanero sauce with a hint of pineapple is easily one of the best sauces I've ever tried. Just the right balance of heat, sweetness, and flavor it's unforgettable. The service is what really sets this place apart. Jessica is hands down one of the best servers you'll ever come across kind, attentive, and always on point. Gabby is also amazing, bringing great energy and genuine care to every table/bar area. Our waiter could not have been less attentive or more unbothered about anything. The salsas they brought out were completely tasteless with their stale chips. I ordered the crab ceviche, whatever you do, do not order this. It is completely without taste or texture or anything. When I asked him what the skinny ceviche was, he said shrimp and that's it. He didn't give me any other description. The queso fundito was half melted, so not that good. Plus, it came out before our drinks even got to the table. I had to wave at our waiter to ask for another round, he could see I wasn't eating my ceviche and said not a word. I can't believe this place even has three stars. I can't believe people in Winnetka even eat here. It was so bad. i'm getting two stars because my husband had enchiladas con mole, which it wasn't even on the menu, and it was pretty good. Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.
