Our favorite sushi in the area. They have a wide variety of rolls and sashimi along with fantastic ramen. Their staff is super friendly and depending on availability, you can sit in the main dining area, the bar area or outside on the patio.

I've heard great things and finally made it! The food was great. The ramen was delicious and the perfect sized bowl. The fire dragon roll was really hot so I'm glad I like spicy! Everything tasted super fresh. The agedashi tofu could have been a little warmer. We sat on the side with the bar which was fine, next time I'd like to sit on the other side. It's family friendly and a fun date night without being too stuffy. The bathroom was very clean which I think is notable! Will definitely be back for another date night soon.

Giving this place a 4, the place is decently nice. Service was fast. Food came out really quick. I will say we came on a Saturday night we knew places would be packed, but they made it work. Seat placement of the high top table being right by the door in the corner. Really liked them accommodating us. Now the knock down of one star. I will admit food was average. We have had better ramen and sushi just being around Asian food all the time. But I wouldn't worry too much as this place still hits the spot if you're in the area!

My friend used to work here and recommended this ramen place when I came to visit her. I loved the variety on the menu from ramen to poke bowl. I ordered a lot of food but I felt like I needed to try as much as I could on the menu. It's not terribly expensive eating here either, I just ate a lot of food which added up but it was worth trying. I ordered the Sammy ramen, seaweed salad, karaage, and the chicken chasu bao. The Sammy ramen was delicious! It was a cloudy day and rained a little so it was perfect to eat something warm. The ramen and karaage was my favorite out of the dishes that I ordered. The karaage had a crunchy skin but was also soft and juicy when I took a bite. The bao was pretty good although I think I'll skip it next time and try other foods. My friend and I shared the seaweed salad as she's vegan so she couldn't enjoy my appetizers but more food for me. I really enjoyed my meal and loved that there was a lot of options. I really enjoyed my food and hope to come again when I'm in town!

Nice looking place for an evening date or outing with your significant people. Started with a cucumber salad which was thick & chunky and in a tasty sauce. Added the crunchy fried chicken and it was delicious. 4 nice pieces in the appetizer. We also enjoyed a spicy tuna sushi roll. Tasty. Then the main courses. Ramen soup was great. See images. I can't remember the name but I think it was Me So Spicy. I added spicy ground pork. Broth was awesome. Decent size and we are all stuffed.

I grew up in Japan and I've been in the states for almost nine years now. I can say that Torino serves the best ramen I've ever had in the states. They truly offer authentic Japanese ramen and it's so good! I can't wait to come back to try their sushi next time. The service was great and the atmosphere was great too. Very casual and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone in a heartbeat!

The ramen was good but it left something to be desired. I was honestly shocked because I've been here twice before and the ramen was exceptional. Service was standard but quick. The restaurant is in a great location and has a pleasant interior.

Summer is here - early May at Torino!!

High quality and innovative cocktails, reasonable prices, and a chic/classy ambiance make Ward Eight must-visit! I tried two cocktails when I was at Ward 8: Remember the Main and Vieux Carre. Both were decadent, delicious, and boozy. Triple threats! I loved them both, but the "Remember the Main" was different from drinks I've had before, so that was my favorite. My husband had a local beer. They have beer, wine, and NA options for folks who aren't into cocktails. They also have food which looks scrumptious, ranging from high-end appetizers to full meals. We did not come prepared to eat, so we'll have to come back again to try food in the future! The staff were welcoming and professional. The space was clean and Gatsby-style chic. There is plenty of seating and an outdoor space for when it is warmer. It is a fancier places, so prices are higher. But you pay for the higher quality ingredients and innovative recipes. The cocktail menu caters to many tastes, they make their own bitters, shrubs and syrups, they have a diverse collection of small batch producers and clearly a staff who know what they're doing! Not that the lack of reviews seem to be hurting their business - the 3 attempts I made to visit, only one was successful (they were too busy the other times). I stumbled upon Oskars by chance - but man, am I ecstatic that I did!!! This is a gem that would easily do well in Chicago's trendiest hoods. Its interior is extremely cozy and inviting/welcoming - it reminded me of a cocktail establishment in London's brick lane neighborhood. I'm looking forward to coming back with friends as this is a cocktail bar that will impress Chicagoans and out of towners alike - and more importantly, I don't have to venture south to have a great cocktail anymore!!

At no time did anyone acknowledge someone was celebrating a birthday. My wife ordered the Salmon dish which comes with a bacon based sauce. She doesn't eat bacon and asked if they could use a different sauce. She was told No. So she had it plain, she said it was well cooked. The broccoli and potatoes on the other hand were overly salted, the potatoes were undercooked and cold, the broccoli was also cold. Normally my wife would have sent the food back, however, since she was with friends she didn't do so because she didn't want to ruin the mood of their celebration. Surprisingly, unlike most restaurants, the Evanston Corner Bistro doesn't celebrate birthdays, they don't even have a candle to put on a dessert. My wife decided she was going to celebrate with dessert anyway, so she ordered the NY Cheesecake with Strawberry sauce. It came out with something more like Strawberry Jam. My wife liked the idea of having the jam better than sauce. The problem was it turned out to be RASPBERRY jam NOT strawberry. Luckily my wife isn't ALLERGIC to Raspberries. She said the cheesecake was delicious. She did say it seemed to take forever for dessert to come out from the kitchen. Then there was a service charge added to the bill, but NO WHERE in the restaurant or on the menu is this mentioned. My wife also commented that there was only ONE server, and as more people arrived the service became slower. It seemed that the one server was just overwhelmed and didn't smile. In summary, and IMHO this isn't a restaurant for celebrating birthdays! Based on this experience my wife said she wouldn't go back unless she was going with a group of people who decided to go there. The space is beautiful and definitely has the same polished aesthetic, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to the look. They offered a bottomless option, though I was told they were down to one bottle because of St. Patrick's Day and a wedding. That wasn't a huge deal to me, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy and the overall vibe still felt promising. The real issue was the food. I ordered the wild mushroom scramble, which I've had and enjoyed at other locations, but this one came out visibly burnt. The eggs had those brown, overcooked bits throughout and tasted bitter, which is not exactly the brunch mood I was going for. The chicken sausage didn't help much either. To their credit, they did recook the meal to make it right, and I appreciated that. The staff was pleasant and handled it well. Still, it was disappointing to have burnt eggs come out in the first place, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy. Eggs should not be the plot twist. I really wanted this location to become a neighborhood favorite, but based on this visit, I'm not sure I'd come back.
