Ordered Pad Thai from here today. Very disappointed! It was a large portion of sticky noodles drenched in soy sauce with a few pieces of chicken, some chopped peanuts on the side and maybe a sliver or 2 of something green. Assuredly will not be ordering that again. Crab rangoon was just ok. All in all, it will be a long while before going back. Not a sushi person, maybe that's where their talents lie. read more

Jimmy's Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Eagle River, Alaska

Food is good, but service is less than desirable. I might go back for take-out, but not a place that I would go back in for a sit-down meal.

Awesome food with a HUGE menu! Customer service is awesome too! One handroll was a little off and they totally made it right without me even asking them to do that! Again, the food is excellent! read more

I love the dinning area in this place it's a casual setting. They have a sushi bar and then a general seating area. I got the chicken Katsu box and it came with rice and a sushi roll. We ordered Goyza which is one of mY favorite things to eat and thy were good. Service was quick. The price was a bitt high but when it comes to a sushi I think that's pretty normal. read more

As I continue on my journey for a full appreciation of sushi, I get braver each time I try it out. This was a wonderful place to explore different types of raw fish sushi. The service was wonderful, and the environment was lively and clean. We enjoyed soup, salad, an assortment of rolls, and even some deep fried tempura battered Oreos (yes, plot twist) when we were finished. I ordered the tornado roll and the XXX. High quality, beautiful presentation, good quantity. Also, I thought the names of the rolls were so creative. Best sushi in the Anchorage area? It's quite possible. read more

Jimmy's Sushi - The XXX highlighting spicy tuna, mango sauce, and jalapeños. Look at that presentation! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Eagle River, Alaska

My family and I love this place! Went through a phase of ordering for lunch almost everyday for while. Not sure if it's the owner, but there's a man that always helps us when we come and he's really nice. Almost always knows what you're going to order before you even say anything. read more

Been coming here for years now and have never had a bad meal. The waitstaff is very hard working and attentive. The portions are good and the prices are Alaska appropriate. Every roll I've tried is good. Sesame chicken is amazing and if you get it to go they put the sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy. The red curry soup is so, so delicious. Tried the pad Thai for the first time last night and while it was different than a lot of pad Thai's I've had other places it was so good. So glad we tried it! They also have a weekday lunch special that is an insanely good deal. read more

Great food! Service is aways excellent! Sushi rolls ate amazing. The blackjack is a favorite.

Coming from Hawaii, I was shocked to find so little sushi shops given Alaska is the salmon capitol. Saw this place driving through Eagle Rock, and decided to give it a chance. Kid ate the salmon don $18. It came with 9 fat slabs of salmon sashimi ontop. Delish. I ordered the 2/$15 sushi roll. One was spicy tuna and the other salmon. I though it would come nigiri style, but not so. The spicy tuna was ok, while the meat was more on the pulverized side. The salmon was much better. Honey got the bento box special and it was all delish. The tempura had a light but flaky batter. Spareribs were thin but flavorful. All our meals came with miso soup. I thought it was good. There is a mixture of some Thai, Korean, Japanese and Korean food here. Service was quick and efficient. They leave a container of water on your table to self-serve. My rating is based on sushi that I've had in Alaska. There is no comparison with the sushi in Hawaii. Again, I'm shocked there aren't more sushi shops in AK. Seems like the most are alehouses. Jimmy's was pretty decent and I would def eat here again if in the area. read more

Every time I go to Eagle River, AK, I make it a point to eat here! The variety is amazing. I love the bento plates! I've had several items on the menu and have yet to have anything that was not delicious! Amazing food, service and great atmosphere!!! read more

Excellent service and the food has been great every time! The wonton soup broth is amazing! The tempura is the best not too greasy!

This is our family favorite for Asian food in Eagle River: we also enjoy the friendly atmosphere and mindful service. My favorite dishes vary. Currently I'm on a Walnut Shrimp (with extra cabbage) kick. Last night's Tom Kha Gai was superb, and the Korean Short Ribs are tasty, just not a large enough portion. I'm thrilled they added brewed iced tea last year! It's a fabulous place to meet with friends if you'll be awhile, as it's atmosphere allows you to talk and be heard; and while there's a steady flow of customers, there's rarely a wait for seating. read more

This is my favorite place in all of Alaska... hands down the best pho in the state. I have a problem with it... great atmosphere and friendly staff, too. Love Jimmy's!!!! read more

Get it every Friday, very consistent and delicious definitely recommend if you live in Eagle River/anchorage

Love this restaurant! When Jimmy is behind the bar count on getting the best sushi you have ever had. The menu is filled with an extensive array of foods sure to please. Every time we enter we are greeted with a pleasant smile. We have never been disappointed with the service even when they are filled to the brim the hungry customers. read more

This is a little hidden gem in Eagle River, in talking to the owner they have been open since 3/10/15. I had the spicy tuna roll and it was by far the best one that I have had in a long time. The fish tasted very fresh and wasn't overly spicy. I also ordered the walnut shrimp meal not realizing how big it was going to be. But, worth the full belly in the end. I will go back more now that I know they are open from 11 am to 10 pm on week nights. Hands down the best Asian food in Eagle River. read more

Great service, they always make us feel welcome and remember our family as we visit! I would recommend this restaurant o anyone that loves great food!!! read more

I cannot say enough nice things about this hidden gem! I just moved to Eagle River and my husband assumed we'd have to drive all the way out to Anchorage to find decent sushi. He, as per usual, was mistaken. ;) Jimmy's is the place to go! Not only is the selection huge, fresh, and delicious, but reasonably priced, as well. Our server was welcoming and attentive. Our water glasses were never empty. We were even surprised with a free dessert! I did not know that Oreo tempura had been missing from my life. Thanks, Jimmy's Sushi, for ruining my waistline. :) read more

I've lived nearby for quite some time and had never ordered anything from Jimmy's Sushi. I'm super picky but in November 2021 I ordered. I've been ordering from here since. I love, love, love, the chicken and broccoli. My order is always hot and ready. This place is a gem. Great customer service and great food is what you get. read more

If you gave me 2 words to sum this place up its "just okay". The waiter was pretty rude as soon as we walked in over the table we wanted to sit at. He also seemed to rush us for our order. Once we did order he looked at us like we were stupid and asked if we knew that we ordered 4 rolls together and that they were all fried. Yes. I was aware. Because he pointed out the lunch special that was 2 rolls for 15$. On top of that I'm not eating off my friends plate, and you really didn't give me enough time to go through the menu. I wanted my own rolls. And no, I wasn't happy they were both fried but you rushed my order. The sushi itself, I've had better elsewhere. And maybe I just didn't get a good pick of the food in, but probably some of the least favorite rolls I've had. read more

Good sushi selection! Lots of options other than sushi. Clean restaurant and friendly staff.

Maybe I'm just not ordering the right sushi but the past two rolls I've ordered from here have just been meeeh. I like to swap out eel sauce for the spicy mayo, and the past two times I've asked for this they have drenched the rolls in it excessively. Over all, it's just okay. When I need a sushi fix and don't want to drive all the way to Anchorage I'll settle for here. read more

Bento box was great. Really liked the fact that as soon as you are seated they bring you a small cup of miso soup.

We go here all the time as a family and have ordered take out many times before. Everything they have is 10/10 delicious! The sushi is nice with many flavors and ingredients. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

Hubby and I usually go to Anchorage for our sushi fix and boy aren't we glad we tried Jimmy's! Super fast service and just the right amount of attention. I really appreciate when asked if there are any fish we don't eat as I usually forget to tell other places what I can't eat. read more

I am a regular at the Jimmy's in Anchorage. My sister lives in ER so we went there last night. So different!!! The food was meh okay, unlike Anchorage which is amazing. The service was terrible. Took forever to get someone to take our order. The male waiter was assigned to us. He couldn't smile to save his life. DON'T GO TO THE BATHROOM!!! It was absolutely disgusting. I doubt it has ever been properly cleaned. I will never go back!! read more

Very tasty and awesome hospitality. They went out of their way to make our meal special.

Their sushi is always fresh and there is a nice variety. Their Chinese options are also very good. Don't miss the two roll lunch special.

I really like this place. We really needed a good sushi place in Eagle River and this does it! The staff are super sweet and easy to talk to in person and on the phone. Their udon soup is perfection for me personally! Its just broth and noodles which I love! Their sushi is fresh and good quality! Wish their dinner dishes were a little high quality but their sushi is great and that's all that matters! read more

Good food but slightly pricey for the combo. That said, the tempura is delicious. My favorite is their honey sesame chicken and any of the sushi! Take out is great on a night when you just don't want to go out. Soup is tasty as well! One of my main Asian stops in ER read more

Amazing service, great cozy atmosphere, beautifully done sushi!! Will definitely be back soon.

Best restaurant in Eagle River. Wonderful sushi rolls, tempura, wonton soup and fried rice. We go 2-3 times a month. Highly recommend

Always perfect and made right! I've been here numerous times and swear they're the best sushi in all of AK!

So glad we have a great sushi spot in Eagle River! I've had the walnut shrimp, several different sushi rolls, gyoza and baked mussels and all are consistently fantastic. Also great service! read more

I've tried the golden beach roll, California and some roll I can't recall the name and all 3 were great. We have tried the green chicken curry, bulgogi and chicken teriyaki and they were ok. The service is subpar, the wait stuff are not very customer friendly. Both times we visited this place, the service was very slow and never once the wait staff asked how we were or how our food tasted. The prices are on the high as well. read more

Great place for sushi. I have been eating at Jimmy's for years before it was in this location. I travel from Anchorage to eagle river just to eat here for My favorite roll is the yummy yummy and the pink lady sashimi. They don't have tempura eel on the menu but if you ask they will make it for you. My favorite place to eat in Alaska. read more

Jimmy's Sushi is awesome. Everytime my wife and I come we leave completely satisfied. Today we tried the butter squid for a appetizer and it was delicious. Definitely recommend trying it. They also had uni (sea urchin) available today. It was so buttery it melted in your mouth. So glad our server mentioned it. read more

Their Volcano Roll is amazing! I also love their vegetable and shrimp tempura. The service is fantastic and the food even better. I haven't found a dish that I dislike yet. read more

A little more expensive than Shine's Sushi but the food tastes much better in my opinion.

Hands down one of the best sushi places I've ever been to. Period. Trust me I'm asian.
