Warning to local vegetarians: At Jimmy John's #3999 in Versailles, management appears to believe "The Veggie" should include chicken. Lots of chicken. I learned this the hard way when I ordered Jimmy John's only vegetarian sandwich option, got home, and discovered it was stuffed with chicken. I called the store and spoke to "David," who identified himself as the senior manager. David first informed me I was mistaken--he remembered making the sandwich and was sure there was no chicken in it. Bold claim, considering I was holding the chicken-filled sandwich and a receipt clearly marked The Veggie. Once confronted with reality, David explained that while any sort of refund was impossible, he could offer partial store credit. Partial. Store. Credit. For a sandwich I paid for but did not receive. David assured me the store has no obligation to refund an undelivered item, which is... an imaginative interpretation of basic commerce. I had a very frustrating experience at the Jimmy John's in Versailles, KY that deserves attention. I placed a mobile order and went to pick it up via the drive-thru. While waiting my turn, a car blatantly cut the line and pulled up to the window ahead of me. I immediately told the staff not to give my order to that vehicle, making it absolutely clear that the person had skipped the line and was not me. Despite my warning, the employee at the window handed my mobile order directly to that car -- right in front of me. No verification, no double-check, nothing. I watched someone else drive off with the food I paid for, and the staff acted like it was no big deal. The worst part, they couldn't refund my money on the spot (2-3 business days). So Jimmy John's allowed an individual who purchased nothing, commit theft, then technically stole my payment as they wouldn't refund the money. This is completely unacceptable. At minimum, orders should be verified -- especially mobile orders where names and order numbers are provided for a reason. It's not just careless service; it's disrespectful to customers who follow the rules and pay ahead. I expect better from a national brand like Jimmy John's. I regularly frequented this location. I'm not a fan, nor do I frequent Jimmy John's. It just isn't my thing. But I had a box lunch the other day that was actually pretty good. Oh Jimmy John's, oh how I just love their food!!! Lol. I went in and Marisa was so kind in helping me choose a bread. She said that the wheat bread slices were much better than the wheat bread subs. So I went ahead and asked for the wheat bread slices. I am a very picky person when it comes to my food, of all of the food allergies that I have. Before I even completed the rest of my sandwich, I asked that whoever makes my food changes their gloves. One of my severe allergies is eggs; and mayo has eggs in it. The gal that made my food, was extremely careful with my sandwich. I ordered the #8 Billy Club with no mayo or Dijon mustard; and I added pickles, hot peppers and oil & vinegar. I was disappointed though, that they no longer had alfalfa sprouts on their menu. I'm not sure of the reasons for it; but I understand that they always had a warning on it just in case anyone got sick. I wIll say that I had never gotten sick; and it was an amazing add to the sandwich, that I will truly miss dearly. The reason for my 4 Stars??? Great first experience at this location! I placed a mobile order and forgot to mention my latex allergy. When I arrived and saw the latex gloves, the employee was more than happy to remake my order. Everyone was very friendly. The place was very clean. Music was a bit loud, but otherwise very welcoming store. read more

This new store is still working out the kinks, and I should have waited but service was prompt just a tiny bit incomplete. It was a surprise to me to try this again after so many years of avoiding it due to the fact there is nothing hot on the sandwiches. I ordered the Italian to try with the new location and support a local business man that opened it. The sandwich was good but completely as I ordered it. I avoided bacon because bacon should be hot not cold. The biggest complaint I had was not being offered a receipt and when I asked for one it was a major cluster to the employees. (Note: a lot of people write this stuff down in their bank records to balance their accounts!) But I will give the place another chance but hope it has gotten a little better.... read more
