Tonight at 1945 (7:45 PM) I tried to order a pizza from Domino's online; for various "technical reasons" on their part I was unable. I called Domino's and ordered a 14-inch extravaganza, with a hefty price tag on it, almost $20.00. Because of not being able to order online I was unable to get the credits for this purchase, and I was unable to take advantage of any coupons. The lady at Domino's applied a coupon bringing the price to $12.99, $13.90 with tax, I thought this was really nice of them.
I had to wait 45 min for my pizza and arrived at 2030 to get it from the drive-up window, a real nice advantage. I brought it home. I opened it and immediately noticed it was overcooked. The pizza was dry and very much lacking in toppings and sauce. The color of the crust was a dark brown, the toppings were sparse and nearing dry, and to top it off, it wasn't even hot, warm, but not hot. Had it been delivered to me this way, I would have refused delivery.
They had trouble finding my pizza by name or address; however, they were able to find it by addressing my phone number (Savannah, TN) after about 10 minutes.
I was apologized to; because they were so busy is why it took so long. I let them know it was understandable, I had worked in fast food also, sometimes it gets that way.
The quality and condition of this pizza was not one which I would have served to a customer, nor was it up to Domino's standards, of which, I am sure as I have ordered pizza from them in several states and places where I have lived, over 30 years.
I intend to chalk this one up to their being brand new, just opening with untrained personnel. I shall order again, just to see if it gets better. Next time I shall order a sausage, black olive, and cheese pizza. If that experience mimics this one; I suspect, they will be out of business soon. read more
