I stumbled upon this establishment while venturing to the Greyline Station for the Wednesday evening Farmer's Market. If you're not familiar with the Greyline Station, it's a former bus depot which has been transformed into a miniature mall of sorts, with numerous vendors located inside, and I had read a sign that they hold a Farmer's Market on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm. The facility has an accommodatingly large parking lot with plenty of spaces. Nowwwww, to the REAL reason for this review! Once I parked and exited my vehicle, I smelled the most amazing fried chicken, and immediately searched for the source of such an enticing aroma. As I walked towards the building, I saw two nice gentleman sitting outside of the building, near a sign that said Wing KYng, and AHA, SCORE, I found the source of the wonderful fried chicken aroma! Those two gentlemen happened to work in Wing KYng. I told them once I procured my one sought out item in the farmer's market inside the building, I would be returning to procure some of that chicken. Upon my return to Wing KYng, I began asking my typical questions: do they have anything gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and egg free? The staff member was very knowledgeable and advised me that the dry rubs were my best option. I have a myriad of food sensitivities, so I browsed the dry rub options available, and chose a 6 piece chicken wings with Lemon Pepper dry rub. O M Goodness!!Fabulous is the first word to come to mind! The skin was so delectably crunchy, the chicken was moist and tender, and the flavor was perfectly balanced! The cost was $12.00, which is a great price in my mind for the best fried chicken I've had in a good many years. Although I cannot speak to these items, they offer a wide variety of flavors, dips, and Parmesan coated home cut French fries as well. I witnessed one staff member actually cutting the potatoes for the French fries. Truly nice folks work here, and the chicken was phenomenal!!! I will be returning here for sure! read more

Such delicious wings. It can be a little hard to decide, based on the dry rubs, mixes, and names. The potatoes are always so nicely sliced and loaded with garlic. Food can take a little longer to come out especially if the line is a little longer (they get pretty slammed at times). But it's fine since you can just hang out or wander around Greyline. read more

Delicious! Hands down some of the best wings in Lexington. Our wait was a little long (busy), but so worth the wait! The wings are big, cooked to perfection, and some great sauces!! I also got the potatoes with the garlic parm. I learned later you can choose your sauce for the potatoes. The staff was so nice and asked how everything was (it was our first time). For a small spot this place has big flavor, big heart, and just amazing! I can't wait to go back and try some of the recommendations from the staff (hot honey, buffalo lemon pepper). Great sauces. The wings were cooked perfectly with the crispy skin and juicy meat. I got the Eazy's World and Nasii Drip sauces. Both were real good. The potatoes had a garlic sauce that was real good, too. I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I went here in Black Restaurant Week earlier this year and had some good Wings. They are also partnered with The Salad Bar restaurant. So it was pretty cool being able to get both wings and a salad. The 2 workers were nice and got my order out in reasonable amount of time. I got whatever the week special was, don't remember what flavor that was. It was definitely decent! Wing KYng! Glad I stopped in for lunch. As it was my first time here, the Signature DirtBowl Classic flavor was recommended based on my liking of sweet and spicy. Flavorful! In my opinion. I ordered the 12 piece dirtbowl classic - a jerk flavoring with a sweet side to it via carolina bbq. They have the classic flavors as well if you prefer. The service was great and there was a short wait for a fresh batch of wings! The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. I took my order to go but there are a few tables forveating in. So this is the FIRST TIME of my review of Wing KYng. First off this place is in a very niche location nestled on the side of Greyline station; however it should be front and center. This isn't just a wing place this is ambrosia in chicken form. I was wanting wings for the past week, and I found this place by looking through Help, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and was given the garlic, Parm potatoes, and I also ordered bananas pudding. The wings were amazing and I ate them as fast as I could smell them. Would highly recommend the wings and then the potatoes were amazing. (They were a little cold, but that was due to probably sitting out for a while before being served) However, Nana's pudding was amazing. The owner and the cook were both very welcoming she was a nice young lady and spoke very highly of the owner. I'm a bit of a wings connaisseur. So my 4-star rating is actually very, very high. The wings were large and tasty. Some of the very best in Lexington, and the take-out service was pleasant and professional. I will order from there again when I crave wings. (Note: drive around back, and look for the door with the Southland Bagel sign.) The reason for 4 stars, rather than 5 stars, is that the skin was not quite crispy, which is all too common in Lexington, particularly for take-out. I think wings need to be placed under a low broiler for 2 minutes in order to get to turn out truly Great. read more

Not to brag, but I'd consider myself a sort of semi-pro connoisseur of wings. I like em all. Smoked, baked, fried, buffaloed, etc. I'm a particular fan of wings with a hotter twist on the original Buffalo. So, naturally, I walked from Pasadena Dr to Southland at 10 PM on a warm summer night with my wife (who is 9 months pregnant). We sat by the dumpsters around back of Southland Bagel while the food was prepped. And to some this may be a turn off, but to me it made my expectations rise even higher. To be concise, my expectations were met plus some. These were some of the best wings I've had in my life. Steaming hot out the fryer, perfectly crispy. I got the Triple pepper blend mixed with Buffalo which was the perfect mix of scorching heat and classic, savory Buffalo. Located in the back of Southland bagel, (they're a food commissary for new food businesses w/ 100% inspection rating) you pick up the wings like you're going to a secret place that only you know about. Drive behind the liquor store to the back of the stores, park at the Southland Bagel double doors and walk in to grab your order. There isn't a sign yet. Awesome. This is actually one guy out of the back of a bagel restaurant doing what he loves. Mans is passionate about his food and you can taste it. Juicy, crispy, flavorful wings. It's a little sketch going in the back to get your food but it's worth it. I ordered very late and called to make sure that he could get to my order before he closed.
