A very nostalgic stop. All our Frisch's have closed. I needed to charger my car and they have Tesla chargers so a perfect road trip stop. I sat at the counter and the service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was classic burger joint. Definitely I'll be back if in the area! read more

We came here after church for the breakfast bar. The restaurant was pretty crowded, but we were still seated promptly. The breakfast bar is more expensive than ordering individual breakfast items from the menu, but offers a greater selection for the price. Items available included scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, plain potatoes, sautéed onions, peppers, and sausage, grits, cheese sauce, French toast sticks, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage links and patties, bacon, fruit, and other cold items. The coffee, both regular and decaf, is good. With the selections available, we enjoyed our brunch and left satisfied. read more

Frisch's Big Boy - Breakfast bar scrambled eggs, sautéed onions, peppers, & sausage, potatoes, bacon, sausage link & patty - Burgers Near Me - Frankfort, Kentucky

This place is hopping for a Friday night. My wife went with the turkey club with fries. While I went with the Smashed boy burger with onion rings and coleslaw. This is a Military friendly restaurant. This place brings back memories of our kids being little and our own childhoods with our parents. read more

I honestly wanted to enjoy my meal To start off the waitress was great joking with our table and on top of us making sure the drinks were good and updating us I'm unsure if he was the manager he had on a mask halfway on his face but he was talking down to all the staff out front and I understand that if there's issues like wiping tables (his main topic) but take it to the back I don't wanna hear that at any point especially the way you talk to the staff, like calling them fuckheads and dumbasses or idiots out front is not acceptable . Around 11am 12/31/25 Food is a double edge sword it took 40 minutes for our food everyone sat down ate and left before we got our food. My son did enjoy his pancakes so thankyou but my cheese in my burrito was basically frozen chewy and cold so I was pretty annoyed Only reason I'm making this review is because your manager enraged me so much with how he talked to all his staff I generally would have lost my mind on him if I wasn't with my son and he should prolly focus on the kitchen a little more so people don't get cold cheese or they can roll a breakfast burrito faster than 30minutes read more

Not impressed with today's drive thru experience. No ketchup or tartar sauce in bag and didn't ask if I wanted such. I didn't ask because they usually put it in the bag automatically. Onion rings haven't been the same since Frisch's stopped making their own. The whole point of having cheese on a burger is for it to be melted. Chlorine very prominent in the ice. read more

Had the soup, salads and fruit bar. Good variety of salad toppings and a nice selection of fruit and dessert. Only two soups, neither one particularly noteworthy, but decent. All in all, very good for the price. It has been getting harder and harder to find salad bars the past few years and kudos to FBB to continuing to offer one. read more

Been forEVAH since I've eaten at a Big Boy! My breakfast burrito was delicious and right sized. Had a slow start with service, but it got better. Appreciated the diner vibe. Not badly priced. read more

Breakfast buffet was mid // the staff were excellent and quick! Next visit I plan on checking out the main menu and shakes.

My husband and I went Monday around 5pm. He ordered the roast beef and gravy and I ordered French fries with gravy. He also got the salad off the salad bar The fries I received were on a little salad plate and partially cold. The red onions that were on his salad were so strong could not eat them. My husband's roast beef was luke warm. What an absolute shame to pay high dollar for food and it's not even fit to eat. The cost of the food has gone up and the quality of food and quality of food have gone way down hill. The restaurant good use a good cleaning the blinds in the windows up from are filthy. The bathroom could use a refresh the carpets a good scrubbing. Then to top it all off my husband and I both went home and got horribly sick. If you want to stay healthy save your money stay away. If you want to pay high dollar for sub par food eat there but if not better off to go to Cattlemans or somewhere else because you are not going to find it at Frish's only know how to serve cold or lukewarm food. read more

Food and drinks where not good at all and the service wasn't much better. My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant for more than 30 years and in the last few visits things just wasn't the same. Today's visit was the last for us. read more

Sorry and thanks for reaching out. But why didn't your company get it right the first time I was there? It's not very hard: attention to detail, timing tags to pull food off the line when it's no longer fresh and teach your staff how to cook properly. For example, the overly dry Mac and cheese. Teach them to add a tad of butter and milk, stir, reheat to 160F and you have a product that your momma would be proud to serve. read more

Frisch's Big Boy - It's still around! - Burgers Near Me - Frankfort, Kentucky

They were very busy, but we were able to eat after a little wait. The server was friendly and courteous. Our food was hot. Maybe it's me, but it seems like the quality has really gone down. read more

SLOOOOOOOW service but the food is pretty good. Don't bother with the drive thru. Save yourself some time and order ahead.

We ordered two combo meals through the drive-thru. The gave us a specific parking spot to wait for our order. We watched cars that got there after us, leave before us. I asked a woman bringing an order to another car how much longer it would be and that we had already been waiting 20 minutes and she said "We're getting it together it will be out soon." Waited 15 more minutes before I went inside and requested a refund. The manager apologized, gave us a refund, and our food that had been sitting out for who knows how long. We were late for a family gathering so it wasn't until we drove away that we discovered our food was luke warm, and did not have time to go back. This is not the first time we've had to wait, but never 40 minutes for 2 items. Will not be returning. Hopefully they replace their employees with people that have any competency, professionalism, and sense of urgency. read more

While I will admit I have not been to a Big Boys in over thirty years it would have been better left a fond memory. Our experience was horrific. The servers were were pleasant. Only upside of the visit. The Big Boy sandwich was a joke. A thin patty cut in half. One for the top half and the remaining half on the bottom. The onion rings were stale? The patty on the Brawny Lad was also paper thin. Please buy a 1/4 pound sandwich from your competitors and compare it to yours read more

It Frisch's Big Boy. It is highly predictable. If it is Sunday, be sure to be here before church is done. They do have a late breakfast buffet, and since few places in town do a full breakfast (Cracker Barrel and Waffle House, both across town). Everything on the bar is a step below how you can do at home, and overcooked. At least someone else is overcooking it for you and doing the dishes! And then, of course, you always eat too much. Unfortunately the coffee revolution by-passed Frish's. I must add that they do have goetta, but not yet any scrapple. They also have a concoction made of bacon potatoes, cheese, and ranch. Its a concept! Anyway, this is probably as good as a chain buffet can get. It is simple food, made consistently, and filling. Eat well, tip well. read more

I grew-up in the San Fernando Valley so Bob's Big Boy Hamburgers w/blue cheese was a staple. Saddest day of my youth was when the Bob's started closing in CA. While visiting Frankfort we spotted this Big Boy & took a trip down memory lane. Food as well prepared, reasonably priced, wait staff friendly & welcoming. read more

Frisch's now has a seafood buffet on Friday nights. It's $14.95. The only seafood they had was shrimp and two types of fried fish. The fish looked like what you would buy frozen at Walmart or Kroger. The greenbeans tasted like they opened a can and heated them in a microwave. Not worth the money. I was very disappointed. They are still one of our favorite dine ins. Wish they would expand their menu. read more

The only decent thing here was the service. I couldn't bring myself to photo the food. It was too sad and awful and depressing. Over cooked, over salted, generic, rubbery the description goes on. The onion rings were rubbery, the buffao chicken was over sauced like a soup and barely edible. I literally had 2 pieces. Couldn't eat it. The mac and cheese was rubber and hard. The French fries were the only consistent thing and tolerable. Even the coke product was way off. Never again read more

Slowest place on earth! Don't go to the drive in if you expect same day service! Love the cherry cokes but not worth wasting so much time to get one. They don't even make the food until you are at the window waiting for it and even then it was wrong. read more

Stopped based on reviews as most reviews in the area are low. The mashed potatoes were cold, the hamburger is a very thin patty and dry. Not even as good as Wendy's. Should have went to Wendy's as it would have been cheaper and tastier. read more

Stopped here on my way home from camping for a quick lunch. Everybody and their brother must have had the same idea because they were PACKED. Buffett was going on but I went for my normal big boy sandwich. Even with how busy this location was, service was quick and friendly. My food came out hot and correct. Would definitely stop here again. read more

If I could do a negative on the stars I would. We came in to eat and all decided to go with the salad bar, Your menu said the salad bar was 7.49 after 11 am, but nowhere on there did it say that the hot portion of it was an extra $6. Then to top it off, the food was absolutely horrible, the fish was undercooked and all the food basically tasted like they bought frozen food from Walmart and heated it up in the oven and served it. The macaroni and cheese was watery, and the fish tasted like it was still gooey on the inside. I've never had food from here that was this terrible. I will never eat here again. Your cook should be fired immediately!!! read more

My poor waitress seemed like she was completely stressed out! I'm not sure if they were short staffed today or if she is just an unfriendly person. The manager never cracked a smile when working with customers the whole time I was there. Maybe the staff is stressed because of him. He doesn't look like he'd be easy to work for. I recently went to the Frisch's in Lexington and those servers loved all over the customers. It was a much more pleasant experience. Food was great! And service was fast. read more

We had 7 people eat out here at Big Boy. We had salad bar, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes. The serving size was plentiful and had a friendly waiter. The place was clean and got our food in a good amount of time. There was an error on our receipt, but we also had 3 separate bills going on at the table. I would return it this restaurant. read more

I'm only giving it a 1 to make the Review. I feel I was Racially discriminated against. I a(black)person went through the Drive-Thur window. Place my order. Everything Fine. I had to pull up and wait on my food. Cool. No problem. My problem is this. When I pulled forward to wait on my food. I watched the Drive-thur cashier take money out of a (White)lady hand. As I had use some sort of (black)bucket that she had handed me to receive my money and drinks. I was like "ok" I know. I'm not imagining things so let me keep watching. I did and again she handed another white lady her drink and money from her hand. Not the black bucket that was given to me. Mind you this cashier has on gloves anyway that I'm sure she didn't change out between each one of us. How do I know. Because I watched her. So, my point is this!! What's the point of the gloves or the bucket if your not going to sanitize anyway. Just FYI IT'S NOT A Good Feeling. I'm sure you guys could careless anyway. But, I'm still going to speak on it because it was Rude!!! And Distasteful, Disturbing. After seeing all that. I (we) didn't even want our food. I tried to eat a little bit of it because I hadn't eaten all day. I just felt horrible. Anyway. The food went in the trash. I just couldn't eat the food as I continue to think about the service I had received. I will Never return to this restaurant again. Time to contact the Corp.... read more

I waited 17 minutes for a carry out of hot fudge cake. The drive thru was backed up with about 4 cars and I mistakenly thought since my food isn't cooked it might be quicker to go inside. But the service was the drive thru first regardless. I saw the manager running around and he didn't seemed concerned with me waiting and he was aware of me being there and what I was waiting for. When I left not one person in drive thru. Unfortunately it will be many years before any Frisch"s will see me. When I have been treated like this by other restaurants they didn't get my business for 5-10 years. Good luck Frisch's! read more

Fun nostalgic atmosphere here. The food is decent, shakes are great, and I swear we spent less here than we would have in a drive through . Fun place to bring the kids . read more

Good solid food, great prices, clean, brightly lit. Nothing like a Shoney's, which some might confuse this place with.

Frischs has one of the best breakfasts in town. Food is always fresh and tastes delicious. You get good sized portions for money spent. If there is an issue (which is very seldom) they are quick to correct. Morning staff are very friendly and treat you like family. I try other restaurants in town for breakfast, but always come back to Frischs. I definitely recommend to anyone to try Frischs. read more

Never disappointed with this restaurant, same menu you expect and the food is always good and served warm with a smile. Staff is always friendly and quick to correct any problems which for me have been rare. Nearly always packed even though this location has a ton of places to select from, so that should tell travelers all they need to know. For a family of four you just can't beat the price when you just don't feel like cooking. Thanks Frisch's for years of good service and good food! read more

Just stood at the entrance to be seated, it was just me. Saw 4 servers, 2 were taking one single man's order at the register. The lady at the counter looked at me but did not acknowledged me or said they would be right with me. I overheard one blonde server tell another one, "if you take this one I'll take the next" and then there were no servers in sight for the next 5 minutes. So few people in there anyway but guess one more was just too much for them to handle. Too bad, like their breakfast. But Cracker Barrel is down the road and they have better custo.er service. Low rate CS...can't comment on the food. Take a pass if you want friendliness. read more

My husband and I popped into this Frisch's on the way to Louisville on a Sunday morning. It was storming, so we decided to take a break from the rain and eat breakfast. Holy. The breakfast bar is so much bigger than what we've seen at other locations. Not only are there french toast sticks, there are cinnamon french toast sticks. There's also full-sized french toast and full-sized cinnamon french toast. Multiple potato options. Several breakfast meats. There's even goetta! I don't think I've seen that served anywhere outside of Cincinnati (except at my mother-in-law's house, and she's from Cincinnati). The scrambled eggs were delicious. The biscuits were warm. It became very crowded after the church goers started to roll in, and the quality in service went down after that (but who can blame them? They're busy and the tips can't be very good). It was inexpensive, delicious, and quite the surprise. We had planned to just eat something from a gas station or a drive-thru, but because of the rain, got a full breakfast. If it weren't so far away, we'd go back! We tried a Frisch's near our home and were sorely disappointed. The breakfast bar was half the size, with only regular French toast sticks, and no full-sized French toast, and very few meat options. So, be thankful for what you've got, Frankfort! read more

The last couple of times I've been here I've been pretty disappointed. I always order the same thing, tuna salad sandwich. Every time I've ordered it lately it's made completely different even though I know it's suppose to come a set way and I even go a step further and specifically say exactly how I want it, which is how it's suppose to come. The last time I ordered it they added two pieces of American cheese on each piece of bread like it was a grilled cheese. It was strange... this time they didn't toast the bread and didn't put the tomato on it like I asked. I also always get my drinks with light ice because they have the pellet ice and it takes up the whole cup. Today I was really disappointed since they screwed up my sandwich and didn't give me my drink the way I asked. The lady asked me 4 TIMES at the drive thru what I wanted so obviously she wasn't listening at all. When I got to the window there were two drive thru people standing there and they weren't busy. It's like they've gotten as bad as McDonalds where you almost just have to go and say 'surprise me' since you don't get what you want anyway! read more

Great food. Great service, never dirty, I've never gotten a nasty piece of food. Bathrooms are always clean and we never have to wait long.

We are originally from NJ now Florida residents. After coming back from the Kentucky Derby this was the best treat ever. As small children my husband and I would eat at Bob's Big Boys but it has been many years since a Bob's has been in NJ or Florida. The food was delicious hot and generous portions. The price was a welcome sight too. When we come back to Kentucky this will be a stop we will make for sure. read more
