It's been a while since I've had an exceptional meal and Jilli really knows how to treat their customers. The owner was on site greeting everyone. His love for his business was quite evident and he's very charismatic. They were so apologetic because our reserve table wasn't ready, but it really was just 5 minute passed our reservation. They offered drinks on the house. NOW THATS SERVICE! We ended up buying more anyway. For the quality of food and attention it was well worth the price. The space is small, so reservations are a must. This is what we ordered for 5 guys. (we over ordered by one dish). The portions were surprisingly larger than expected and we were so happy with every dish overall. I would recommend this to anyone. Shrimp toast (15) - 6 pieces, delicious. Great texture. Wagu Yukhoe (25) - This was my second favorite dish. Amazing tartar that was so amazing. Enough to share, but I wanted more. Nurungji Risotto (20) - This was surprise . Like a thick congee and packed with flavor. The table loved this so much. Chimmilier KPC (25) - I would skip this. You can get Korean fried chicken othe places and their version was done well, but not unique enough. The gave a lot of pieces! Pork Jowl Jeyuk (30) - My favorite dish of the night. It was soft and melts in your mouth. I can't wait to order this again. Cucumber Salad (4.50) - Refreshing and our only veggie dish Galbi Frites (35) - Very good, but tastes like it sounds. Crispy fries, good quality meat Sang Makgeolli (23) - we tried the flight and Sang was the winnger. Bright and easy to drink. It was perfect to share with all 5 of us. Jilli is a Korean tapas bar. We went before a show at the Wiltern (only 2 blocks away). The restaurant is small, but has a fun vibe. The food is very good and perfect for sharing. The Hamachi crudo and the Pork Jowl Jeyuk were the stand outs for me. I really loved the sauces for the pork lettuce wraps. We also enjoyed the Shrimp Toast, Rigatoni Alla Kimchi Vodka. The staff was friendly and checked in with us to make sure had everything we needed. We had an early res and were able to take our time getting to the Wiltern. But, the restaurant really starts filling up by 7pm. Go early or make sure you have a reservation! Came here the other night with friends for dinner. Italian and Korean fusion, sounded delicious in my head, what could go wrong? Had a reservation so we were seated right away. Cool vibe and chill atmosphere with hip hop playing overhead, from the Wu Tang Clan and Gang Starr to Nas and Busta Rhymes, definitely got that 90s-2000s era of hip hop, so it's definitely a while vibe. Started with cocktails and the Makgeolli flight. The flight was interesting, changing in flavors depending on which you drank, going from a sweeter flavor to a stronger overall flavor. Your Ex's Favorite cocktail was really tasty, nice grape flavor with grape soju, lime juice and club soda. Probably the favorite drink of the night. For food, we started with the shrimp toast, which were really delicious little bites of shrimp and aioli. The pork jowl jeyuk was also cooked well, with little lettuce wraps to make these crunchy bites posted with the sauce. The uni teokboki was delicious, a nice fusion of Italian and Korean, and the sauce you key going back for. Finally was the rigatoni Alla kimchi vodka pasta, which was probably everyone's favorite dish overall. Just so much going on but it all world together so well. I ate at this spot with a friend on a Tuesday night and easily made reservations on the same day. There was street parking out front and we got seated before our reservation time (it wasn't too busy). The restaurant is dark with projections of old cartoons onto the walls. Seating is limited so reservations are recommended unless you are okay with sitting at the bar! We decided to try the dine LA menu and ordered the honey butter chips, meat jeon, shrimp toast, galbi frites, kimchi rigatoni, and a grape cocktail which was very good! The food was overall pretty salty and flavorful so it got a bit tiring after a while. I would come back just for small bites and soju cocktails. My sister and I came were going to a concert at the Wiltern and wanted to get dinner close by beforehand. Neither of us had eaten here before, but we were intrigued by the DineLA menu and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I took the metro here, because parking is a bit of a nightmare. My sister drove over and ended up spending nearly half an hour trying to find street parking before settling on a paid lot. The restaurant is pretty small and gets packed throughout the evening, so I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. We both ordered different items from the DineLA menu and shared all the plates: honey butter chips, tuna dip with crackers, meat jeon, fried chicken, galbi with fries (additional surcharge), and a few cocktails. Overall, we enjoyed trying all the different dishes and flavors and finished just about everything. My favorites were the meat jeon and galbi with fries; I thought the galbi was cooked and marinated perfectly, and I had a difficult time refraining from munching on the crispy and well-seasoned fries. The galbi and jeon were both a tad bit on the salty side, but I still found them to be tasty and comforting dishes. I really appreciated the kind and efficient service throughout the evening. I got to the restaurant a bit early but was seated almost immediately, and our server checked in with us multiple times throughout the evening to make sure we had everything we needed. Came to celebrate my friend's 21st here! They have very small plates to share, emphasis on small and emphasis on expensive. No designated parking lot so you're left to the whims of Koreatown street parking (good luck). We got the makgeolli flight for $40 which came with four little glasses; we thought we would get more considering the price. I think it should've been more like $16 or $22 maximum to account for LA inflation. Uni tteokbokki was good but expensive and didn't have any full pieces of uni. We were served a completely warm Terra in a chilled glass and while the server was really nice and apologetic about it, I honestly would've rather not drank it. read more

We got the following: Honey Chips: this was great! there was a good balance of honey per chip and trust me you need to have the chives with every bite. My friends and I came here for a birthday dinner (reservation for 4), and the experience was pretty disappointing from the start. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, yet we were seated at a table with only three chairs. They brought out a folding chair for the fourth seat, which felt odd since there were plenty of nicer chairs around and we had a reservation (you would think they would have been prepared?) As we looked through the menu, we decided on two cocktails and five entrees. When the waitress came, we ordered our drinks first -- only to be told one wasn't available. Fine, we picked another. Then we ordered our five dishes, but within a few minutes she came back three separate times to tell us that the jjajang fries, yukhoe, and uni tteokbokki were all unavailable. At that point, three out of the five dishes we wanted couldn't even be ordered, and this was around 6:30 PM... not late at night. We ended up only eating two dishes since most of what we came for wasn't available, and we left still hungry. The restaurant is super unassuming from the outside but once you step inside you're instantly transported to some place that feels vibey, moody, and intimate. We each got a glass of the house white which was delish -- truly one of the best house whites I've had, so crisp and refreshing. As for what we ordered.. we got the honey butter chips, cucumbers, shrimp toast, DIY salmon kimbap, the rigatoni, and Korean fried chicken. It was a feast. Their dishes are tapas style (so smaller) and meant to be shared amongst the table. Our favorite dishes were the DIY salmon kimbap, honey butter chips, and rigatoni. Definitely worth ordering. Swung by on a hot 90+ degree weather for a popup collab event. Parking was very challenging and we had trouble finding anything available until parked some 3 blocks away. Signage is dark and unclear. No acknowledgement upon entering the restaurant. Very very hot inside as no air conditioning too. Circulation was nonexistent and the air felt dense and murky. I have no idea how people don't sweat eating or lounging in a small area like that! We waited to be seated but got ignored and never got to place the order or anything. From the moment I walked in the service was excellent and the food was even better. Restaurant has a cool vibe. It's a bit small so it filled up quickly on a Friday night around dinner time. The waiter gave us some great recommendations such as the shrimp toast, JjaJang Poutine, Rigatoni Alla Kimchi Vodka, risotto, Pork Jowl Jeyuk and Korean fried chicken. My fav was the shrimp toast and the rigatoni but honestly everything was so flavorful. They also have a full bar with many specialty Korean cocktails. ** Review for Mori Haus pop up @ Jilli** just to save anyone's time Unfortunately, I hope they don't collab again, im giving the rating to not tank Jilli as they deserve better . Struggled against ktown parking to find the place ( a bit hidden, black store on the street). No big signs. No one outside, went inside and no direction, the people just kind of stood there, no greeting or anything about the wait or ordering. The ig stories said restock at 1:30pm, sold out of the most of the items when we got there a little after. There was no drinks being made even though most of the patrons were sitting there. There was a group, not sure if customers just eating chicken. The ordering wasn't initiated until a customer went up and asked why her drink wasnt being made yet. The menu isn't even until the front and theres no menu in line to see if its worth the wait. Yogurts are around $20, drinks $8. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was and how hospitable the staff were at Jilli. My friend and I walked in on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance is dim and upbeat. We ordered the wagyu yukhwe with potato chips, perilla oil noodles, shrimp toast, and uni tteokbokki to share. The yukhwe and noodles were cold dishes, both of which were light and refreshing. The tteokbokki was slightly fishy and creamy, and texture was chewy. As for the shrimp toast, my least favorite, was too salty. As for drinks, I really liked the specialty cocktail, Your Ex's Favorite. It was a grape flavored cocktail that's fizzy, sweet, and delicious. Jilli is a bit lowkey but also not. Situated in the heart of ktown, this restaurant brings vibes and good food where you can go on an awkward first (or second) date, have a boy's or girl's night out, or just enjoy a meal in a fairly noisy environment. Either way, you'll have a good time So food, I'd say the star of the show is the rigatoni with kimchi. Rich, creamy, and bit of a kick. Each bite is pretty darn good. I ate more of this than any other dish oops. Meat jeon is a fancier take on, you guessed it, meat jeon. All things considered though, it tasted quite light and was nice and savory. Can't say it's particularly standout compared to other meat jeons though but I also really like jeon in generally. Perilla oil noodles is that refreshing dish to help with the savory stuff. It's cool, fragrant, and refreshing, a much needed reprise from the hotter dishes you may order. Wagyu Yukhoe is a nice beef tartare dish to add. They use good quality meat, bury it in all sorts of garnishes, and give potato chips to eat it with. Makes for a nice combo though. It's a rich arrangement of flavors so definitely give it a try if you're here. Everything was already good to begin with but then we were graced with free flavored shots which puts service up there. Overall - 8/10 - I visited the place for a pop-up with Mori Haus and it was also the hottest day of the week. It was a very small space with a bar and an around 5 tables. They started slow and had slow service throughout the store due to the amount of people they had to accommodate. If you parking here there was no parking around the space. There is a public parking place for a grocery store a block away. Drinks - The drinks were around $8 per drinks and the yogurt that they were promoting was around $20 too. I ordered a Cherry on the Bottom Matcha drink and it was pleasantly not bad. It wasn't the greatest and strongest matcha that I tasted, but had enough flavor. They also had a Ovaltine/Milo Drink that they served to the 1st 20 people for free and that was a wonderful drink. The drinks made up for the time we had to wait for the drinks in the store. Also the cute stickers and postcards from Mori Haus was also cute too. Overall Experience - It was an average experiences. It was also hard to accommodate the amount of people that came to the pop-up at their small store. The service was a bit slow, but they had to serve a bunch of customers and don't think they were that prepared for how many people were going to show up right at the beginning. read more

The uni tteoboki is the highlight of this restaurant! The rice was chewy and warm while the uni and roe sauce was the right kind of umami. The chicken wings are classically delicious. The kimchi rigatoni tasted decent but you can't go wrong with pasta either way. The seating is limited to a hard 30 people, there's no outdoor seating and tables are a long wait so we ended up sitting at the bar. As it's a lounge, the service does lean a bit on the slower side but the food makes the trip worth it. My wife and I were having dinner with friends in K-Town and wanted to grab drinks before our 7:00 p.m. reservation. We found Jilli thanks to The Infatuation and were excited to check out this new venture from the creators of Chimmelier, a fried chicken chain we absolutely love. We'd never tried a makgeolli tasting before, and once we saw it on the menu, we knew we had to go for it. When we arrived around 5:30 p.m., the bar was completely empty. Our party of eight took up about half the seats at the bar -- and we happened to catch the tail end of Happy Hour. Off that menu, we ordered the homemade honey butter chips. The chips were delicious: super crispy with sweet, buttery, and addictive glaze. Between my wife and me, we shared the makgeolli flight, which includes four pre-selected varieties. Two were cloudier and on the sweeter side, and the other two were especially interesting -- one with a red wine-like flavor, and another that resembled white wine. I've never tasted makgeolli like that before. Marvin, the bartender that evening, was incredibly knowledgeable and walked us through each pour, explaining the differences in flavor and style. In addition to the makgeolli flight, we also shared the "Pay Raise" cocktail. I loved the thick cream on top and the bold injeolmi flavor throughout. If you're a fan of injeolmi, run, don't walk, to Jilli and try out this cocktail. I cannot recommend Jilli enough and will definitely be back to try out more of their food and cocktails. read more

Came here on a quick on-a-whim dinner on a Tuesday night. Parking can be a little tough and the outdoor is unassuming with a large decal over the glass doors. It looks closed but when you walk in you get a moody, intimate, loungey vibe. There's a large bar and then smaller tables on the other side. For 2 people, we ordered 4 dishes: - Shrimp toast: loved this!! The exterior was crispy and inside was soft and juicy. The dipping sauce is a vinaigrette - Rigatoni: another dish to love. The pasta was perfectly cooked and dressed in enough sauce. It's pretty savory which is great with a drink, but I really liked it. - Wagyu Yukhwe - a tartare with crispy chips and them surprisingly being the perfect thickness to have a nice crunch but hold the tartare on top. I would maybe like a little acidity in the dish but I liked the unique take of adding the seaweed (or green onion?) - Meat jeon - the smallest portion of the tapas but it was 4 cuts. The brisket is really tender, the pancake is soft and thin but the brisket seasoning was really balanced. They even brought us a yummy shot as we were closing down the restaurant with them at the end of the night. It's a tiny, but cozy spot with a good vibe for a night out with a couple of friends. But I can definitely say we had no regrets at all about over-ordering because we got to try so many great dishes. The rigatoni alla kimchi vodka was well-cooked pasta with a vodka sauce unlike any other I've had...the notes of kimchi fit unexpectedly well with vodka sauce! The meat jeon was positively scrumptious. We gobbled that thin egg & meat concoction topped with fresh, dressed sprouts & herbs right up. I think our favorite dish of the night. The DIY salmon kimbap was also a huge portion. Well made but not nearly so wonderfully out of the ordinary as the pasta & jeon dishes. Jilli offered a great casual blend of good vibes, friendly service and delicious elevatated Korean bar bites We got sat at the bar and it was a great intro spot for our first time trying a few of Jilli's popular dishes. My favorite was the Kimchi Rigittoni but all the eats we had I'd definitely have again. I'll be back to try more of their dishes and hope they'll offer desserts soon , to top off the meal! Came here for a happy hour catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. I did get here basically when it opened so I didn't need reservations, but because this place is small and cozy I would definitely try to make reservations ahead of time. Food is small plate style and shareable. Cocktails were yummy we had 2-Seoul mules, the Rigatoni, cucumber salad, and the half order of their Chimmelier Sijang Tongdak OG chicken. All was tasty with good flavors, and textures, everything you expected had a crunch. No soggy chicken, and nice crisp pickled veggies. Rigatoni is one of their fan faves, and it's a nice twist on a classic. Overall really great food experience. Also, their music was a vibe. No pictures of food cause we ate first. read more

My friends and I went to Jilli's on a Saturday night ; we made a reservation. Although we were seated a bit later than expected, they offered us free makgeolli for the wait, so that was such as nice gesture! We ordered the kimchi pasta, shrimp toast, mushroom riosotto, uni tteokboki, honey butter chips & hotteok cheescake. I personally really loved the honey butter chips and risotto! The chips were super light and good for snacking. The risotto was very flavorful and comforting. I loved loved the ambiance in the resturant; it was so cozy and cute. The anime on the walls, the warm lighting, the decor was top tier!! The best part of the entire dinner was the phenomenol service. The manager/waiter brought my group 3-4 rounds of shots, and everytime it was some sort of soju cocktail mix. The horchata one was seriously a 10/10, best alcoholic drink I've ever had. We had a very enjoyable first visit to Jilli on a Saturday evening before catching a friend's show in Hollywood. We made a reservation but it seems they were also able to take some walk ins too (plenty of bar seating). Space inside was small but not cramped. We had looked at photos online and had a general idea of what we wanted to try. Sadly, they were out of ttekboki and Crudo, so we'll definitely have to come back another time for that. We really enjoyed the dishes we ordered, however, I found the pork jowl to be too fatty. I hadn't had much experience with makgeolli so starting with the flight (plenty to share between two people IMO) with some guidance from our waiter was very helpful. They were all excellent and unique in their own way! Everyone working there was so friendly and attentive! I believe our waiter was Mitchell and we were well cared for throughout our dinner. Had a reservation for dinner on a Thursday night but they were able to seat us earlier upon our unexpected early arrival! My boyfriend and I were able to enjoy the DineLA menu and everything we had was delicious! We ordered the makgeolli flight for an extra price. They were unable to serve us the Angma Makgeolli but we still feel we got our bang with our buck with this menu! There is definitely limited seating at the restaurant but the vibe makes it a great place for a dinner date or catching up with friends! Would definitely come back again :) read more

I also got one of their makgeolli and it was sooo tasty there's very limited seating with only around 5 tables and a bar area so be sure to make a reservation if you're going with a larger group. The service was good our waitress was super charismatic and friendly, but she was waiting the tables by herself so sometimes it takes a little bit to get your order or check, but it was no worries because her energy was so positive! read more

I was such a big fan of Chimmelier, that I had to try their sister company Jilli! I definitely recommend making a reservation if you're planning on dining there because they have extremely limited seating. Now let's get into it! I came with a group of five and we had all intentions of ordering one of each item on the menu, but they were out of a few dishes from a busy holiday season. Regardless, we got everything, except for those three items and doubled up on the shrimp toast (which you can also get at Chimmelier). Here's what we got: * Honey Butter Chips * Perilla Oil Noodles * Silken Tofu * Shrimp Toast * Meat Jeon * Wagyu Yukhwe * Salmon Fried Rice * Rigatoni Alla Kimchi Vodka * Chimmelier KFC * Cucumber Salad * Soy Vin Pickles To be completely honest, I enjoyed every single item that we ordered. But I'll give you my top three - 1) Shrimp Toast. It has the perfect golden crisp and amazing texture. You also can't beat the chili vinaigrette dipping sauce that comes with it! 2) Rigatoni Alla Kimchi Vodka. Super creamy kimchi flavor with a touch of bacon in each bite. A Korean-fusion masterpiece! 3) Silken Tofu. I honestly didn't think that this would make it to my top 3, but I'm a sucker for soy and vinegar, and this sauce was just that! It was very reminiscent of Japanese agadashi tofu, which is also a hit for me. Surprisingly, the Chimmelier KFC was probably my least favorite and it's because it was boneless popcorn chicken. I need wings because they have so much more flavor! Overall, a solid restaurant. The ambiance was giving Korean street food, they had some nostalgic trinkets sprinkled throughout as decor. Here's a breakdown of everything we tried -- and loved: Shrimp Toast Let's start here: there's no actual shrimp in it -- but we didn't miss it one bit. Perfectly crispy, full of umami, and one of the most unexpected highlights of the night. Wagyu Yukhoe (Spicy Beef Tartare) Incredible quality beef, balanced heat, and layers of flavor from the sauces. Silky, spicy, and deeply satisfying. Tuna Dip with Trout Roe Think elevated tuna salad -- rich, creamy, and topped with that signature roe pop. A comforting yet refined dish. Uni Tteokbokki Creamy uni sauce meets chewy rice cakes and briny trout roe. A luxurious, ocean-kissed twist on a Korean street food classic. Jiajang Poutine Fries taken to another level. Crispy, golden fries smothered in rich jiajang gravy, mozzarella, and cheese curds. A fusion masterpiece that just works. Nurungji Risotto This one surprised us -- nutty, cheesy, and layered with mushrooms, pickles, egg yolk, and even jam. Every bite revealed something new, and it all came together beautifully. Chimmelier Sijang Tongdak (Fried Chicken) An absolute standout. Perfectly fried, deeply flavorful, and honestly didn't even need the sauce (though it was delicious too). Possibly one of the best Korean fried chicken bites we've had in a long time. Pork Jowl Jeyuk Tender pork with a vibrant salsa verde -- think Korean BBQ meets chimichurri. Savory, herbaceous, and totally addictive. Rigatoni alla Kimchi Vodka This one was a flavor bomb. The funk of kimchi, smokiness of bacon, and creaminess of the vodka sauce all blended into an unexpectedly delicious pasta dish. Basque Cheesecake To end on a sweet note: rich, creamy, with a beautiful char. Every flavor component worked in harmony. A flawless finish. Final Thoughts From start to finish, Jilli delivered creative, flavorful, and expertly executed dishes. The space itself is stunning, and the staff made us feel right at home.
