Clam Soup, Butter Grilled Abalone, Saero + yummy fermented Kimchi
    winney l.

Stumbled across this spot on Yelp and couldn't have had a better time! Daniel the Manager was very cute and super hospitable. Customer service was A1 for sure. The Clam Soup was on point, lots of clams and the soup was so refreshing with the right amount of kick. The Abalone... let's just say we got a second order, . We were told it was yummy and...it was very yummy. Their Kimchi was also to my liking because it was extra fermented...yum!!

We had a really satisfying meal at Chungdam 828, and while the food did take quite a while to come out, every dish tasted so good that it was definitely worth the wait. Our server, Danielle, was super friendly and provided excellent service. We ordered 쭈대새 (beef intestine), 지코바 치킨 (grilled spicy chicken), 차돌박이 떡볶이 (beef brisket tteokbokki), and 닭똥집 튀김 (fried chicken gizzards), plus extra udon, ramen, and rice to round it all out. Everything paired perfectly with our Sapporo pitcher, and we especially loved that the venue is pet-friendly on Sundays. It was a fantastic bar that we'd highly recommend.

What a freaking awesome place with the absolute best servers. They were so considerate even replaced a soju bottle with colder one--like wow, who does that these days? flipping fantastic

Comfy seating for an intimate date night (or decompressing with a friend on a weeknight).

Chungdam is one of those places I keep in my Ktown rotation when I want music, mood, and an intimate lounge vibe that surpasses most in the area with my partner (don't get me wrong, I l love the graffiti-worn Pocha bars too; this isn't quite the destination for that vibe). I've been here multiple times with my Korean partner since last September, and it's become a reliable fallback when when we want something more upscale but still relaxed. The music leans dark and seductive with K-pop and EDM influences, which aligns with what many regulars mention and is a big reason this spot stands out. When the VIP room is open, usually on weekends, the energy really comes together. The design and atmosphere are a huge part of the draw. Industrial brick, concrete textures, and comfortable lounge seating give it a downtown Korean lounge feel without trying too hard. Halloween week stood out in particular, with decorations that showed real effort and added to the experience. Between the music videos, occasional projectors, and thoughtful layout, it works well for date nights, small groups, or nights where conversation and music share equal importance. Food here is better than expected for a lounge. The Korean rolled omelette is soft, savory, and comforting, and the spicy buldak is rich, glossy, and consistently satisfying. Both would be recommended for first-timers! The menu is approachable for both Korean food fans and first-timers, though I do wish prices were a bit more affordable or that they offered more specials or a rewards program for regulars. Staff is generally friendly and attentive, and small touches like complimentary popcorn and QR codes on the chopsticks add to why I keep coming back.

This probably has to be one of my least favorite pochas in Ktown, mainly because of the food quality.   I came in around 8pm on a Friday night. There was valet parking behind the restaurant for $3 (cash only) which wasn't too bad.   Walking-in, I found the décor very quirky and Squid game like. It was unique in a good way I'd say. However, there weren't a lot of patrons during my duration of my visit.   The service was pretty decent and I like how they give you some buttered popcorn to snack on while you wait for your food.   My friend and I ordered the Grilled Pork Belly and Kimchi Bacon Pasta and I ordered a Jeju Highball for myself. The pork belly was very disappointing. I know what microwaved pork belly leftovers looks and tastes like and I'm pretty sure we were served microwaved pork belly that was cooked a previous day. For $33, this felt like a waste of money and I would've just gone to a regular Korean BBQ for some fresh pork belly. While the ssamjang and veggies helped, it could distract from the dry and unfresh pork belly. For the pasta, it was alright. For the quantity and quality, it wasn't worth almost $30 for. As for the highball, it wasn't very great. It just tasted bitter with hints of fruity flavor.   Overall, I was disappointed with the food here and would probably not come back.

I had a great night at Chungdam! The vibe is fun, a bit retro and stylish -- perfect for grabbing drinks and hanging out with friends in Koreatown. The menu has a nice mix of bar bites and Korean-influenced dishes that pair really well with soju and beer. I especially enjoyed the Korean egg roll. It was very fluffy and it went well with Judaese soup with is a spicy octopus, beef tripe and shrimp soup -- both were tasty and shareable. The service was friendly and welcoming too. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in K-Town!

Very good service. Very good place to come and have drinks. Catch up with a friend, very authentic Korean food and vibes. I personally recommend the spicy chicken wings. Hit the spot with a nice cool beer. Definitely coming back again

Great service! Spicy pork and tofu was good! Spicy chicken was good! The whole fried chicken was so good to eat alongside beer! Fries were truffle flavored and very addictive! Would come again

I truly believe this place has some of the best food in Koreatown. The portions are huge, the quality is always consistent, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay longer. Whenever I'm in Koreatown, I always come here without even thinking twice. And the service is excellent.

    Nagasaki soup and chicken

This is honestly one of my favorite places in Koreatown. The owner is incredibly friendly and always makes you feel welcome, which really makes a difference. The food is amazing and tastes very authentic. There are so many options on the menu, and everything we tried was delicious. It really feels like you're eating in Korea. They also have a great selection of drinks, so it's a fun spot to come with friends. The atmosphere is lively but still comfortable, perfect for group hangouts. Definitely a place I keep coming back to and would highly recommend.

I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. I hope I'm wrong but as of right now, I'll never revisit this place. Too freaky of an experience. We

Words cannot expressed how pleasantly shocked my friend and I were with the premium quality service we experienced at Pharaoh. We had been here a handful of times together over the years whenever we were in SoCal, but our experience this past August really had us sold on loyalty to Pharaoh for NRB (karaoke). We came in pretty late, after a concert at BMO and with my old service dog, probably around 11pm. The first thing we noticed was how nice the security guard was sitting outside of Pharaoh when we came off the elevator to B1. We thought the guard would make a stank out of having a dog enter the floor at all, but he was really polite and directed us through the lobby door. Once we went in, we were greeted by Pharaoh's staff and manager, who welcomed all of us (including my dog) with open arms. Like, literally, wide open, to my dog. The manager actually gave us a room upgrade so that my dog could be more comfortable while we karaoked and we got a generous serving of beer and soju along with our spacious karaoke room. We ordered some midnight snack bites-- Could have been the booze talking, but I highly recommend their sweet potato fries, honestly anything fried or savory there was fantastic and made to perfection. The song selections were massive, all up-to-date, and the system is easy to use (whether or not you use the Korean keyboard or not). Thankfully because we had an upgraded room, our friends who joined us an hour before Pharaoh closed were able to comfortably fit in the room with us and we were able to even finish our song list before leaving, even when we were 10 minutes over closing time. This type of tailored business and kindness to customers is truly a rare find in this modern economy, we'll definitely be back whenever we're in town. Thank you so much for all that you provided for us (even without a reservation and with my old service dog!)

We're in the area and the cheaper karaoke bars are pretty out of reach, so we agree at the cost since we would split the bill. Song selection is abysmal and awkward with a slow love songs having random Kpop backgrounds with twerking in them. The song selection had more Korean than any other genre and most of the system was in Korean, so luckily my friend figured out how to change it to English. Service was decent. It's not like the server had to come in repeatedly. I didn't like the idea that we HAD to have alcohol when we asked to swap the alcohol for soda instead. At the very end, I'm told by the server that there is an automatic 20% service fee that was added to the bill. The cost was $200 and with the service fee and tax, it went over $250. Excuse me, we saw our server 3 times and neither was it for egregious requests. Your song selection is short, I can't control the volume without checking in with the employees, your food was okay, and you want to add on additional service fees for a $200 package. We were never told in the beginning that there was going to be a 20% service fee automatically. And neither would I put the server in an awkward position when it was the manager who explained the costs to us. We aren't coming back. It's a ripoff. And your toothbrushes suck.

It feels like a place that's trying to be trendy and upscale, and to be fair, it mostly succeeds in that. Food: The food was okay, but not super memorable. We ordered a few small plates and shared a couple entrees--everything was presented nicely, but the flavors were just kind of average. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. For the price point, I was expecting more. Service: Service was friendly but a bit inconsistent. We had to flag someone down a few times for water refills and waited longer than expected between courses. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. Overall: Terra Cotta isn't bad, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. It's a good spot if you care more about ambiance and a night-out vibe than mind-blowing food. I'd come back for drinks, but probably not rushing to return for dinner.

I ordered a mixed drink from the bartender who was an Asian woman maybe in her mid 30s. The drink was around $17 but when I got the receipt I noticed a 20% "bottle service" fee was added to it, which is already pretty ridiculous to me since I didn't get bottle service. Anyways, the total came out to about $20 and some change. I left the tip line empty because I figured the bottle service fee was basically a phony form of tip being added to my check. I look at my bank statement a few days later and notice I was charged $23 dollars instead of the $20 that it should have been. This means they ILLEGALLY forged and added a $3 tip to my check. Seriously how desperate and shady do you have to be to do something like that? Bunch of lowlifes trying to nickel and dime people. I will be disputing this with my CC. Anyone thinking of coming here I would highly recommend you stay away from this place unless you want to get scammed. My guess is they do this on a regular basis hoping customers don't notice.
