Jila did a great job on each of my dresses as the mother of the groom. She was professional, helpful, quick and easy to work with. I would recommend her for sure! read more

This woman saved me pre-wedding. My tailor / designer had several visits to get the shoulders and chest right, but he didn't-so she came in to save the mood! She tightened my shoulder straps (they kept sliding, and for context, I had a backless dress) and fixed the breast so it would land right on my chest. She cost $40, but it was well worth it considering I was no longer stressing and finally comfortable walking! She also turned around the alterations within a week, so I wasn't pinched for the day-of. Thank you!! read more

Excellent service! I decided to get my grandmother's coat altered to fit me so I can have something of hers to wear. She passed away two years ago and I wanted a reminder that she's with me, always. I took the coat to get altered and now it fits like a glove . It's perfect and I couldn't be happier. read more

I was referred to Jila by the bridal salon where I bought my wedding dress. BEST REFERRAL EVER. I bought my dress in a bit of a rush due to my mom being in town for only the weekend. So when alterations came around, I was unsure about the dress altogether. Jila transformed a mediocre dress shopping experience into an unexpectedly fun process! Jila listened to my suggestions and worked with me to tailor, alter, fit everything to perfection! We added more structure to my dress by adding wiring, cups, belt. We also altered the neckline with more lace. She added a wrist element since we couldn't add a bustle. She even helped me decide between two pairs of shoes- soft pale pink leather instead of velvet and rhinestones since the embellishments would catch the fabric. She was also confident to say NO to some of my ideas, and I'm glad that I trusted her expertise. :) She transformed my dress into something that fit to perfection, was functional, and photographed beautifully! This review is long overdue and well deserved! read more

I contacted Jila with an unusual order for a conference, 50 sleeves for poles! This was the first time using Jila and can not explain how wonderful she is! With only a week notice she completed the task on time and with a sweet smile. I highly recommend her. She is professional along with her inviting studio. I look forward to working with her in the future. read more

Jila is a true master of her craft. My wedding dress was perfection because of her. I had a total of 3 fitting and picked up my dress a day before the wedding. Some asked me if I was stressed out for picking it up just a day before my wedding and my response was no. Why??? Because I truly trusted Jila's work. read more

Jila was great and her studio is kept up nicely and is very clean. I came to her after a different tailor quoted me almost $200 for the same job I was asking Jila to do. She was very patient during my dress fitting and was able to do everything I asked her. The price was very reasonable as well. It was $30 to tighten the shoulders (so the front of the dress wasn't so baggy) and about $65 to taper in the sides. I would've exchanged my dress for a smaller size (as to avoid alterations), but the online store I bought it from sold out of that size and I had already fallen in love with this dress (whoops, my fault). The work she did on my dress was fantastic and I can't wait to wear it for my college graduation. I'm so happy Jila was able to make it fit perfectly! read more

Jila did the alterations on my wedding gown and it turned out perfectly! She was so wonderful to work with. She listened carefully to all of my requests and made sure that the dress turned out exactly as I had hoped it would. My dress looked amazing on my wedding day, and it was all thanks to Jila! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone. Her work is very careful and of the highest quality. Thank you, Jila! read more

Excellent service, excellent workmanship. I had a ball gown with some major alterations needed and they were done on time for a fair price and excellent workmanship. Also had some basic hemming done, looks great. Will definitely use her services again. read more

Very nice job! I'd recommend Jilas Alterations to anyone who wants a great-job done with a very talented seamstress. Initially was surprised to say she's a bit expensive and I know there are more affordable places to get your alterations done; but with this said; you get what you pay for. Jilas worth the extra cost because she'll get the job done to your "satisfaction" and will work to correct any problems if your not happy with anything without hesitation and in a very prompt manner. Thank you Jila. read more

I told my husband to try on his new suit that he purchased last year. He procrastinated because he thought he gained weight and it wouldn't fit. Well, he tried on the suit at 7:30 am last Thursday and was surprised that it fit. The only problem was that the pants needed to be hemmed 2 inches shorter. And he needs to wear the suit for a wedding that was one week away! It was an easy alteration or so I thought, but I couldn't find a tailor who could get done in a timely manner. . . Until I went to Jila. She got it done in one day. It was very neatly done. In addition to this, she was able to fix the sleeves on one of my husband's favorite shirt. Thanks so much! read more

Jila is exceptionally talented at tailoring. I had an involved request to create pockets for a garment, and Jila did a wonderful job. She has a beautiful studio in charming downtown Pleasanton, and I'm thrilled with the quality of work. I plan on bringing more items for tailoring. Thank you, Jila!! read more

We had a suit tailored here and our experience was incredible. Jila was so sweet and you can tell she is very experienced in her craft. Her pricing was reasonable and she was even able to have the suit ready early for us. We will definitely be back. read more

Jila is a true professional! I'm so glad I trusted her with my wedding dress. I found Jila's through Yelp and am so happy I came to her instead of the other locations I had been recommended. The studio is clean and cute, and Jila herself is very friendly. I brought my dress in for alterations February 2nd, and brought it home March 1st. There wasn't a whole lot that I needed done, but it was a complicated job because of all the lace detail on my dress. I consulted with Jila, she made suggestions for style and budget and helped my mom and I decide what I wanted. In all my dress was hemmed, let out at the waist, had a bustle added as well as a belt detail around the waist. I was very impressed that she was able to match and repair perfectly a few beads and crystals that had come loose and fallen off. If you're looking for someone who can complete a very special dress she is the one to call. Jila made me feel like she really did care that I was satisfied and happy with my dress. Her work is beautiful and personal, everything you want in a tailor, whatever the occasion. Thank you, Jila! read more

Jila is professional yet warm, skilled and intuitive about what you need and what will look good. She altered a wedding dress that I had ordered on line as well as making a special piece from an antique obi that I wanted to add to the dress. She helped me to realize that my design was not sensible and we redesigned a use for the obi which I like even better! Her prices are reasonable and she is extremely accommodating. I recommend her highly. Her work is beautiful! read more

Jila literally saved my expensive couture dress from doom! The referring bridal salon told me that she could recreate the dress into something totally different, if need be, but I didn't pay much attention, because I had no cause to think she would need to. 2 weeks before my wedding, I realized that the dress that took the designer 8 months to make was all wrong and looked nothing like the original sample when compared side to side. There was not way this was getting fixed before my wedding date and to top it off, Jila was scheduled to be out of town for half that time. But I went back to what the bridal salon first said about Jila and put my trust in her. Low and behold ahe saved my doomed dress and in a couple days, I will be proud to wear it down the aisle! read more

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for Jila!! Thank you so much for altering my winning gown! I was so comfortable on stage and was able to walk gracefully without the fear of tripping due to the amount of tulle and fabric underneath my dress. Jila Tailoring Studio - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Pleasanton, California

I decided to bring my bridesmaid dress to Jila Tailoring Studio after reading such wonderful reviews on Yelp. The studio is easy to find and there are plenty of parking spaces available in the area. She was warm and friendly, and taking measurements for my dress was quick and easy. She had my dress ready well before the date I needed it by. And it looks great! Her prices are also very reasonable, so I would definitely recommend her and go back for any dress alterations I may need in the future. read more

Jila altered two wedding dresses for me, and I only have great things to say about her. Jila is very thoughtful and professional. She cleaned down the hardwood floor in her cute workshop before all my fittings so that my dresses wouldn't get dirty. Her prices are also very reasonable for the quality work that she does. One of those dresses was a size 10 sample Wtoo Olivia strapless ballgown dress in oatmeal-- that has room for size 10 assets. I am normally a size 0-2 and by that time had realized that I had made a huge mistake. However, she was able to cut down the bust and sides to fit my size 0 frame, shortened the waist, and helped me design tulle straps, where she used fabric that was discreetly taken from the many layers in the ballgown. The ceremony dress was a white mermaid gown with an illusion neckline. Because of the stress from the wedding planning + work, my weight fluctuated quite a bit in the months leading up to the wedding, which made fitting a mermaid gown to my body very difficult. Jila altered the sides of the dress for me 3 times, without charging me extra--she just wants her clients to be happy. She also helped me shorten the hem, and it was the perfect length. When I still felt like something was wrong, she sagely added in cups (something that I had initially refused to do). In the end, the dress fit absolutely perfectly. All I can say is-- I should have listened to her much much earlier in the process. read more

I recently lost weight and I brought in four skirts and five pair of slacks to be taken in. An excellent experience from a very satisfied customer! read more

I found Jila here on Yelp, and the 5 star reviews did not disappoint! I had a bridesmaid dress that I needed hemmed. A simple hem, no biggie. I contacted Jila here on Yelp, and she was very quick in responding. That was nice, right off the bat! I brought my dress in on a Saturday morning, she made the hem marks on the dress and asked when I needed the dress by. I had a lot of time before I needed the dress back, and Jila worked with me on my pick up date. A couple months later, I went to pick it up, tried it on at her studio, and it was perfect. Easy peasy! Thanks Jila! I'll be back if I ever need any future alterations! read more

I tried Jila just by luck and yelp reviews. She was the closest tailor for me to alter my wedding dress. Her pricing isn't bad either. She's such a pleasure to work with! She will tell you what will look good and what won't. She will also tell you the process of how she will alter your dress. Her little boutique is cute!! When I went to my final fitting, everything was perfect! The alterations went better than expected. Thank you so much Jila! read more

I HIGHLY recommend Jila for anyone looking for high-quality alterations work, competitive prices, and an overall wonderful experience! Jila recently finished altering my wedding dress. She came recommended by the bridal shop because I was unable to make any of the appointment times for their in-house tailor. I could not have been happier with my experience! Jila took in the shoulders and sides, added cups, hemmed the dress, and added a bustle. All of the alterations were absolutely impeccable. The dress had a lot of delicate beading and lace applique detail in the areas that needed taking in, and her work was seamless. Besides the perfect new fit, you can't even tell that the dress has been altered! I had no idea what really needed to be done, but Jila was very professional and gave a lot of great recommendations without being pushy in any way. She also worked with me to figure out the right way to bustle the dress to fit my needs. Not only did she do amazing work, but Jila is also a lovely, sweet woman who did everything in her power to make the alterations experience as stress-free as possible for me. Despite my rushed schedule and having the alterations done in the middle of prom/wedding season, she was super flexible and accommodating. And she always had a smile on her face! Jila also has a great selection of jewelry with a wide range of prices for any dress-up occasion. I purchased my wedding earrings from her as well. Just as with the alterations, she gave me great recommendations without being at all pushy. I was absolutely thrilled with my experience. It was totally worth the one-hour each way trek to Pleasanton, a trip I'll definitely make again next time I need something altered. You really can't do any better than Jila! Ps - She also does amazing custom-made work. She showed me photos of two gowns she recently completed, and her work was very impressive. read more

Jila is a lovely lady I was referred to. She is everything and more than what was described. I took a picture of the mother of the bride dress to her to see if she would be able to make the needed alterations since I was exactly at the maximum size the dress came in. She took my measurements and told me to order one extra yard of material. When the dress came in she made the alterations and the dress looked like nothing had been done to it and it looked perfect. I also brought my granddaughter, the maiden of honor and the flower girl for their dress alterations. Jila was quick and reasonably priced. I will certainly use Jila's services again even though I will be driving all of the way from Richmond. She is worth it. read more

I had to get a cocktail dress altered for my engagement party and found Jila on Yelp. I was concerned because the top layer of the dress was an intricate flower-patterned lace. Jila not only did a fantastic job but she was very sweet and accommodating. I had to have the alteration done in a couple of days, which was no problem. She also worked with me to set up a time for my fiance to pick it up while I was at work. I think Jila's studio is relatively new but she obviously has a passion for her craft and I very much appreciated her high quality of work. So hard to find these days... I highly recommend Jila! read more

I went into Jila's Tailoring Studio about a month ago to have my wedding dress altered. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I initially just went in to get a quote, but felt very comfortable booking her right then and there. I went in 2 weeks later for a fitting. Just a couple of small changes were made, and I was back 2 weeks after that picking up the finished dress. Everything fir perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Jila for a job well done! read more

Jila did a fantastic job with a sweater that I didn't think could be saved. The band on the bottom had stretched out and the sweater was flaring upward. Her suggestion was to taper the sweater on the bottom and she also gave me tips on ironing (iron in direction of the ribbing - never away - ). Anyway, she fixed what I thought was unfixable and she definitely knows her craft. I will definitely be back for my alteration needs. read more

Great service and reasonable price for the area! She saved me for a wedding I was in a few months ago

A fine job was done on my turn sweater and pants. They look like new now! Not only that but the pants' stitching was reinforced!

Jila was recommended by a friend of ours. I am so glad I went with Jila rather than the bridal shop. She hemmed, took in and added more boobs :) too my gorgeous expensive wedding dress. You have to trust the person who alters your wedding dress. She held on to my dress for almost a year and did a fantastic job! She also hemmed 2 of my bridesmaids dresses. Thank you Jila. I highly recommend her to any bride! read more

I am so glad I brought my wedding dress here to have tailored! I brought my dress to three places in total and I liked Jila the best. She gave me the best price, her studio was the most clean and welcoming, and she was more engaged and would talk with us on different ways she can make the changes we wanted and gave us her input which I appreciated. She even explained how she would preserve scalloping details which was great because I never would have thought to ask or make sure that was done. Altogether I had her hem the dress, change the neckline to sweetheart, take it in (a lot), add cups, add a bustle, and remove the original sash and put on a belt I brought. She was fast (took just a month and a half) and very pleasant throughout the entire process of fittings, and I love love love the result. It turned into an entirely new dress, exactly how I wanted it! I would recommend Jila to anyone who needs a wedding dress altered. She also had jewelry there that perfectly matched the new belt so I ended up purchasing that as well to wear for my wedding day. Thank you for everything Jila! read more

I thought I had left a review previously for a dress I had altered in October. Jila did a great job in hemming a long dress I purchased for a San Diego Gala on extremely short notice. Based on Yelp reviews, I called her late on a Friday afternoon. She fit me in at the last minute, got the dress hemmed perfectly (leaving a small train that I wanted to keep on the dress) and recommended some jewelry to wear with the dress. Price was fair, the work was excellent and done in time for my trip. I really appreciated it. Thank you, Jila, and sorry for the late review. read more

I bought this beautiful formal dress for a wedding. Which unfortunately was 4 inches too long. The bottom was very detailed and had a lot of embroidery on it. I brought it to 3 different alteration shops and no one wanted to touch the dress. One person said she would do it but was asking way too much and said it would take a long mg time. Jila was my last resort and if she couldn't fix it I was going to return it. She wasn't hesitant at all and gave me a great quote and would have it done in 2 weeks. It turned out awesome!! I am so happy to have found Jila!! read more
