We normally use the Jiffy Lube in Bend, Oregon (which is great by the way). But unfortunately, not all Jiffy Lubes are respectable businesses as this Burnside location is far from it. The problem is, you get comfortable with one, they treat you well (don't take advantage of females or anyone they think won't know better) and you can start forming the false assumption that all Jiffy Lubes will treat you great. My wife was visiting Portland for a marathon and since the oil had started getting too low, decided to go ahead and get it changed before heading back over the mountains. Now she is very unsavvy when it comes to anything automotive related. And that is where a business like this loves to prey on this type of person. Normally our bill at Jiffy Lube is around $30, but today, we got the low, low price of $85!! They switched the oil to Synthetic w/out asking, they replaced stuff w/out asking. So she went with it b/c that's the kind of person she is. And they did this to her b/c that's the kind of people they are. This is not a place I would recommend your mom go to, your wife, your sister, or anyone you care about. Now if you're a guy w/ a truck like the reviewer before me... odds are you know your way around what should or shouldn't be happening and as such, they're not going to try and mess with you. Sharks don't prey on the strong, they prey on those that appear to be an easier meal. Now by all means, if you enjoy the thrill of haggling, facing off with the adversary, using your knowledge of your automobile to challenge what they're saying... then you may love this place! But if you're expecting this is place that lives by codes like: 1. Treat people the way you would want to be treated 2. Be honest, upfront and ethical Then don't go here. Fortunately there are LOTS of alternatives in the area that won't treat you as poorly as this this Jiffy Lube. Now you may be wondering, "Why did you give them two stars?" Well in my world, you need to cover the whole spectrum. And 1 star rating are reserved for companies that take their malicious and evil deeds to the next level. This would include physically harming you, verbally abusing you, slashing your tires, etc... So while this Burnside Jiffy Lube represents a business that offers a high level of nastiness, it hasn't yet earned that coveted 1 star rating among the truly supreme evil business doers. And believe me, I we won't be back to find out! So, I have been going to this location for over a year, and have had some ok success, and bad experiences. I thought it would be easier than doing it myself, and with a small child, I was right. Butit ended up costing me a new engine. I know there is no way they will ever admit it, but I ended up having to get a new engine for my Tacoma, after these idiots stripped out my oil plug without telling me. 2 days after hey changed my oil, my engine seized, destroying it on the freeway with my son in the truck. Apparently, according to a Toyota Master Tech, this is pretty common with these oil change places. BEWARE!!! And of course they claim no fault of their own. I would give these clowns negative stars if possible. Over an hour waiting for a simple oil change. They weren't even busy when I pulled in. The manager is pacing back and forth with no direction and the employees don't have a clue what to do as they haven't been trained properly. Customer experience at the establishment was good, relatively quick and everyone was friendly. Once I got home I was detailing my engine compartment and noticed oil spill on the engine and then went underneath because now I'm curious and there's oil all over my frame, axle and other components. My truck doesn't leak oil and now there's oil on my drive way. The kicker is I called and I'm met with a rushed answer and they didn't even seem to care. We took our jeep in for an oil change. The next day we noticed it was leaking oil. We took it back to have them check it. They said that it was the oil pan gaskets. We took it in to Referral Automotive (5* for them). They said that the oil filter was loose. We won't be back. read more

Well I have been waiting for over an hour with only one vehicle in the bay in front of me. I am currently waiting in my car because the lobby is a sardine can. I am so used to Valvoline's quick service. This is terrible. I plan to just leave but can't because there is 3 lines behind me blocking me in. I will just drive straight through when it's my turn and skip the terrible service. I can over heard quite a bit of discussions amongst the staff trying to figure out computer operation or where an oil filter is or how to properly lift the windshield wipers when cleaning the window. It's a circus. Figured I will send this when get done in case there is more to add. It would be better if they didn't lie to you about wait times. I see other reviews complaining about the order they come and when they are serviced. I think they need a better system to serve whomever waits in line first. People who have been waiting less time than me is getting serviced and it can be frustrating if you have been waiting for over an hour in the sun after being told the wait is only 15 minutes a car and it is actually taking thirty minutes a car. Start the lines further back so the person waiting in line next can drive up to the next available stall. If you pick the wrong lane you are screwed. You just end up watching everyone around you move up. read more

I went in 2 weeks ago to get a light ordered for my car. I sat for 45 mins while they messed around "calling it in". I called a week later the manager said it wasn't in yet and to call back later that day. I didn't I gave him another week. I called back a second time and got someone that told me they have all lights in they start at 12.99... ok I said SPECIAL LIGHT... I had to come back because oil was all over my driveway after my oil change. They said they had spilled some and it was dripping down from where they spilled it. They said they cleaned it up and I went home. I went back and they said I had an oil leak in one of the seals. So I let it go for awhile and took it in to Mikes Truck and Auto repair. Just an FYI... If you don't want to wait an eternity at this Jiffy Lube best you get there early or go somewhere else. I got my oil changed in my car here yesterday and waited OVER an hour as the next car in line, in other words NO other cars in front of me to get in. Then when I pulled my car inside it took them almost a half hour before that actually started working on car, while the other 2 cars next to me were getting worked on. So basically I was just sitting in my car for over an hour & a half before any work was done on my car. Once started it only took the 16 minutes to do the oil change, etc. But they were extremely slow up to that point and NOT ONCE did anyone come check on me to let me know how much longer it would be. All in all I was there just shy of 2 hours when it should not have taken that long. I probably will not be going back to this joint. Great shop! Quick oil changes! There were like 4 or 5 cars in front of me the other day and it only took them 30 mins to get them all done and get to me! Once I was in it was like what kinda oil do you want and then bam I was being billed and guided out! Highly recommend!! read more

First I've been going to Jiffy Lube for years. But my last trip will be my last. I had a regular oil change then the next day my check engine light came on. So I went back and asked if they could make sure all the parts they touched were screwed in put back etc. The guy told me no way would an engine light come in due to what they did. He ran a diagnostic and told me imy car needed a $500 part. So I left. Took my car to a mechanic and sure enough they didn't out a filter back in right. So glad I didn't do their recommended service. read more

I am glad to have stayed in my car so I at least know the oil put in was correct and at level. After waiting 45 minutes to get into the bay I could understand the wait. The staff was unsure of their job related to the computer. They checked off things they could not have done as complete like vacuuming my car or cleaning the windows (I was in the car so I know this didn't happen). The overall environment was a bit adversarial between the staff. Will avoid this one for the next 4-5 months at least until the staff member telling everyone they were leaving is gone. read more

Went In for an oil change on an F150, They Convinced me that my tires should be rotated, for 25 dollars I really should have said no but meh go right ahead. My Hub cap broke off and they offer to replace it no big deal, they even give me a discount again alright good deal. I get home take it out 2 days later check engine light goes on. Oh boy, I pull over look under the truck see oil every where. I can't pinpoint what these guys did, if its the oil plug, or if they jacked it up off my Pan or transfer case. bottem line is truck was fine I take it to jiffy lube and now its jacked up. Going in monday if they make this right I will upgrade my review. I never had a problem at jiffy lube, they so convenient I find myself using them the last 3 years instead of doing it myself, first time for everything. :update 1, Took it to autozone to get error code read, says cat converter is bad, I can'\t pin that on jiffy lube, may have been the new air filter help the computer recognize the cat is clogged, just going on a guess. However the leaking I can't figure out, its dark and ill look again tomarrow, its not the plug, May be the Oil filter not screwed on properly. Nothing catastrophic so My one star is going up to 2 star. I burn oil I new that but its dry underneath it was dry when I took it in. Screwing on an oil filter should be the first thing they teach you to do as an employee at jiffy lube, Good buisness just keep an eye on there work. read more

I have mixed feelings about the Gresham Jiffy Lube. It's either a hit or miss. The majority of the time I only come here for an oil change which they seem to do an okay job at. Worst Customer Service and Services I've ever experienced, I've gone to jiffy lubes since I've been driving they claimed to change my oil and filter and put the old one back in that had a hole in it.i drove to Eugune when my engine light came on and my car shut off due to no oil in my car .I took it to a different juffy lube they showed me how the oil was draining out due to the way they put it back together and put the old one back in when I called Scott the manager he said there's nothing they can do just bring it in and they'll check it again..they. also had all the incorrect Information on my car due to a previous license plate number. Took my girlfriends car to get the oil changed here a couple days ago they brought me over to the computer and said do you want the synthetic oil and filter like she usually gets I said sure if that what she gets he said OK that's going to be 67$ That was a bunch of bs i said no way she never pays that just give me the regular oil. My girl said they were lying you should post on yelp. Last time we were there they said the rear wiper was worn I told them I just replaced it an hour ago and it had never even been used. This jiffy lube is very dishonest watch out for them. Very slow service, with few if any updates on when you'll be serviced. I've been sitting in the bay for 20 minutes now with no clue as to when I'll actually get worked on. I went to Jiffy Lube on Tuesday... By Thursday my car had overheated... Turns out the "professionals" forgot to put the cap back on to my coolant.. I was so furious.. I took my car back in today so they could fix their mistake (luckily my engine hadn't blown up) Greg was there (he wasn't on Tuesday) and he was actually really amazing.. He kept apologizing, refunded my money, did a coolant flush, and cleaned my engine. I was really impressed with how he handled the situation. I was for certain that I would never go back but after my experience with him I believe I will.... As long as he's working there. Make sure you ask for Greg and you'll get great service! read more

Hello Decided to go to a larger town hoping to get better service and someone that knows what they are doing and cares..... not. Purchased the "Signature Service" and paid $61, completely dissatisfied and feel violated. Power Steering Fluid filled - No Windshield Washer Fluid filled - No Windows cleaned - No Vacuum - No Reset oil change light - No I was charged for a light bulb for the license plate but it was not changed. Wiper blades are old and worn; did not offer to replace. They forgot so many things how do I know the below were done?? Oil filter???? Tire Pressure ?? Transmission Fluid ??? Transfer case fluid ??? Antifreeze?? But they sure were willing to sell me a cabin air filter for $45, which I can get at the auto parts store for $15. read more

This is the second time we have had a oil change hear, the first time it ran a little rough after words and we found the mass air flow censer connector pulled loose, couldn't prove anything even though I know 100% it was not loose from previously working on the car weeks before, We took it in again a couple days ago for a oil change and this time it was running very rough and would die every time we stopped or let off the gas which can be dangerous when your driving down the road anyway you guessed it, this time the air mass flow wire connector was pulled completely off !!! We took care of it and it once again purred like a kitten. This happening two time in a row is quite obvious as it takes a lot to pull this connector loose. They don't deserve the 1 star either. Until recently I had always done the oil changes and all other regular maintenance needed for my car. Unfortunately having two jobs working all day everyday has its downsides, and this is where my jiffy lube experience begins... being a local I decided to give this place a try so I decided to jet over to get an oil change during my 40min lunch thinking to myself "shouldn't take more than 20min and maybe I'll catch my lunch after all I was wrong on both counts. I drove up they checked me in pretty fast and they gave me the options. Premium package or low ball package hmmm I care about my car how much will the premium cost me around 90 bucks ooooffff okay that's like twice as much than what it would cost me to do it myself but I gave them the go ahead anyway seeing as my schedule was really packed with hours and hours of work I said okay and all together it was about 120dollars. Wasn't busy that day so I thought I'd be out pretty fast but oh hey look another car pulls up and they get greeted and they start up on their thing oil change and a couple other things okay so why did it take me way longer to get out of there because they decided to service their car before mine how does that make sense I don't know but it irritated me so I asked how much longer they said another 10 mom okay that sounds reasonable I'll just go to Fred meyers and grab something to eat really fast and I did so they gave me a call about 20minutes later saying that my car was ready to go. I though ugh 10 minutes more than what they said it would be but at least it's done with. So I grab my keys I pay the guy and head off back to work. Windows not washed floor not vacuumed didn't think much of it but then I was like hu I thought they would do that for me eh no biggy really so I forget about it. Fast forward two weeks I start having problems when my oil change light comes on saying my oil life is at 5% wtf i just had it changed and it got worse after that my car wouldn't change gears smoothly anymore it started off by jerking ever so slightly. I park my car I pop the hood and check the oil it's dark like really dark as in looks like the oil was never changed which It most likely wasn't because i checked my transmission fluid and that's nearly non existent I put two and two together and figure these bozos drained my tranny fluid instead of the oil and couldn't figure it out or were just too stupid to know anyhow i had to call my insurance to get a tow and i had to pay for a tranny fluid flush and for another oil change luckily my insurance agency is awesome and waved the fees but seriously don't trust these guys their current ratings say it all read more

I came into this jiffy lube like many time before for a simple oil change and was given a lesson on how to be the most unprofessional and vulgar one could be. Anthony (jiffy lube employee) decided to yell at the top of his lungs "what the f&$k don't you understand ? Bay one was waiting (said to the employee whom led me into bay two and began the service on my keep) " "get that fu&@ing car out of here close the fuc&@ing hood now !" This is yelled across the service floor for all the customers to hear. I am absolutely appalled and will never bring any of my vehicles back here ever again. This was the most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed in a franchise that's supposed to be the upmost customer service oriented. I feel terrible for the other employees that have to work with Anthony. Here's a perfect example of what not to do as a customer service representative for a national franchise chain. I called everyone I could think of to help me with it (exterminators, AAA, ect) as a last ditch effort I tried the Jiffy Lube - and they helped me with it.
