Had an appointment setup for a week. I was not able to make it to the 8am appointment and called them promptly when they opened at 8:01am. Luis is the face of their Customer service, He was personable, and easy going. I flew from Seattle to take my son's classic Bronco in for an easy steering box replacement. They also upsold me, recommended an alignment. I'm not sure why, the steering box doesn't affect the toe in/ toe out or alignment of the frontend. I arrived a little before 9 am, was told I would be put in queue. I waited in the waiting area...At 10:45AM I asked if there was any update.on my position in the queue. I was told I would have to reschedule for another day.. I also had already procured a new 1966 steering box. Wished I had read more of the poor service reviews here before booking the 1st appointment and wasting 3 hours of my Saturday. Thank you for saving me the pain of a poor service experience! Well, since I had dedicated this day to the job, I ended up just doing it myself. Took me 30 minutes.. Easy and quick. I don't recommend these guys for any service.. read more

I got an oil change for my Corolla S for around $20 and my car was in and out of the shop in an hour. I only paid for labor because I brought in my own Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and oil filter, which I bought across the street at Wal-Mart. It's much cheaper to bring in your own materials as long as you buy the right parts. At first, I brought in synthetic oil that they said was specific to cold weathers rather than all-season. So they gave me the opportunity to no have their oil poured in, but rather, go buy the right type of oil (all-season) since they knew I wanted that. That was a great gesture of them and I appreciate their honesty. The customer service was top notch and they didn't mind me watching them work on my car by standing outside the work zone. There's also a waiting area inside the shop with coffee and TV. I would recommend anyone to get their car fixed here because they don't nickel and dime you, but rather, tell you the straight facts about your car's issue and let you decide what to do before working on your car. read more

I had already bought my tires, and they had no problem mounting them for me. I am very particular and they were careful with everything they did and they did it relatively quickly while I waited. Todd take notes, you lost a loyal customer and business today. I've been coming here since this place was called Charlies Tire Factory and saw the transition from Todd buying the business and renaming to Point S. I actually lived in that little house next door briefly back in 2012. I have purchased 2 tires back in 2017, I remember a nice dude named Neil(?) helped me and I canceled a special order from the warehouse store that starts with a 'C' to buy from Point S. I was sold on the Nokian tire even though most in North America have never heard of it. But Neil and Todd spoke highly of their Nokian tires and apparently are very popular in Europe. Not only did I pay 2 times more buying these tires from Neil and Todd, but I was happy to do it. They claimed their tires are 'Fresher' than the big box stores (lol) Along the way, I've brought numerous Non-English Speaking Chinese folks to this shop for various repair jobs and tires and did the translating. I Was also happy to help and devote my time to bring more people to this local business because I was happy with them and trusted them. Don't get me wrong, this place is trustworthy even though they may not be the 'cheapest' in labor or price. There is a reason that they are always busy and the shop across the street goes out of business and changes ownership every few years (I will leave a negative review for that shop right after this review). So fast forward to today (08/31/21) I came in looking to get a slow leak plugged. I walked into the store and saw employees that looked like they rather be elsewhere. I didn't get greeted even though at least 2 front desk people were not occupied. When I was acknowledged, I told them I had a slow leak and the guy just told me there was a 2 to 3 hour wait (which I'm ok with, I don't expect special treatment). I then asked if there was a charge because I've always known this place to do free tire plugs and the guy just says it's normally $10 but if you bought your tires here, it would be free and sure enough I told him that I did buy these here. He didn't bother asking me for my name or anything to look it up. How they lost my business: It turns out, I had a nail puncture in the inner sidewall which is not pluggable. Had he bothered to show more care and compassion for my tire problem. He would have come out (the front desk part of the store was NOT BUSY at the time) and took a look at my tire and saw the problem in less than 2 minutes. He would have told me that this Tire needs replacement. I would have told him oh no, I bought these nokians here, is there still warranty left? We would have went inside the store to look up my customer file and check warranty info. Warranty or not, We would have still looked up prices on a new set of 4 tires and worked out a deal. He would have scheduled me for another day to come in and install new tires. He would have gotten my business for 4 more tires. I would have still went home after filling up air in my tires, keep in mind it was a slow leak. I was able to go 4 hours before the tire goes flat which was plenty of time to go home safely. I then went across the street to the shop no one likes going to and got it plugged up in about 10 minutes for $10. I went to the Warehouse Store that starts with a 'C' to order a new set of 4 tires since they have a Michelin deal going on now. Tires ordered and paid for and arriving tomorrow. Appointment set up for Thursday night. Free tire rotations and Nitrogen air fillup for life of the tire. Backed by multiple stores across the nation. Why didn't I go the the store that starts with a 'C' to begin with? Stupid me. Todd, business is good and I'm genuinely happy for you guys but don't forget about the older customers and do show more care for your customers, new or old. Had to stop and get my tires back up to the right pressures. Not sure how they were so low but Nampa Walmart didn't help me out apparently when they said they rotated my tires. Was able to pull up to the open bay, they checked and filled the tires and I was out in about 5 minutes. Didn't even have to go in! I'm realizing the door was open because another car was about to go in and I got in the way. They didn't treat me like that though! Got friendly fast help! read more

It really bums me out to write this review, since I've been going here for years, and have had a good experience until 2023. A marketing team might categorize my consumer-type as "loyalist," meaning I find a place I like where people treat me fairly, and then I go there until the end of time. This was fully my plan for Todd's Point S. As a woman uninterested in auto mechanics, the long-term auto shop bond is important for personal sanity, because I'm the demographic most likely to be fleeced for being uninformed. Then I went in for an oil change, and the mechanic I spoke with noted grinding coming from my rear wheel. He said they could fix it for around $500, give or take, and it would probably take a few hours. This sounded fair to me, so I made an appointment. I brought my car in around 9:30, and checked on the status around noon. I was told it would still be a few more hours, since they had to get a part straight from the manufacture and didn't have one on hand; a little confusing, but still fully in line with what you might expect from a busy auto shop dealing with a combination of appointments and walk-ins. Around 2pm it was done, and as I was checking out they noted that the rear wheel bearing was grinding and needed to be replaced. Now I was genuinely confused, since I thought that was why I was there. I paid $277.59 for the axel seal ($244.60 of which was labor) and was quoted $950 for the rear wheel bearing. Something seemed off, so I decided to look through my receipt history, and discovered that both of my axels and seals had been replaced (by them) in 2019. I've only driven 11,000 miles since then, and this seems absurdly soon for a repair that's supposed to last approximately 35,000 miles (at least). I also discovered that they replaced another rear wheel bearing in 2019 for $500...which is the same dollar amount I was quoted way back at the oil change. I called to ask about it, and was told that sometimes parts break sooner than expected. He also admitted that he "fat fingered" the estimate, and the wheel repair was more like $645. In short: I hung around for four and a half hours and paid $300 for a repair I probably didn't need, to drive away with the same problem and the possibility of paying them even more. Normally I angle my reviews towards funny, but with this one I'm just sad and stunned. My quest for an autoshop that doesn't see me as an easy mark and a bottomless wallet begins again, I guess. read more

My 2008 Prius brakes were a little squeaky so I had them checked here. I was told that my front brakes were fine, but that my rear brakes were at 15% and needed to be replaced, for a price of over $500. I was told I also needed two tires. I had the tires replaced that day and made an appt. for the brakes. I was thinking the quoted price sounded high, so I called a brake shop nearby and asked how much they would charge & they said somewhere under $300. I also called a Prius specialist mechanic who had inspected the brakes before, who told me my brakes were likely fine. So I had him look at them & he says I absolutely don't need new rear brakes, they're at 95%. Now I'm wondering if I really needed the tires. read more

This shop is being highly irresponsible during the Covid pandemic. They aren't using masks or gloves and don't even maintain social distancing when talking to customers. They've lost my business and I had been a customer for many years. Plus the last time they did an oil change on my car they put the oil filter on so tight another shop couldn't remove it. read more

I came in on 3/20/21 and was immediately helped when I came in. Mike helped me get started and issued me to wait for a technician to help with my car. (My car has been having battery issues and I thought it could be an alternator issue or just me needed a new one) they ran all sorts of tests in a very fast and efficient manner then gave me the results. They gave me the best recommendation and told me that they didn't want to take my money because I could have it fixed under warranty. I really appreciate the honesty and efficiency they work with. The guys there were able to determine my alignment was just never done properly and they got it fixed and going on two months and still driving straight. After owning my car for 4 years, I finally hit my first flat tire. I wore out my tires pretty well since I drive all over town on a weekly basis. So when it came down to getting new tires I did some research first. I called around for quotes on 4 new tires. Les Schwab was asking for about $400 plus and some other local places were asking the same price. Wal-Mart aka Crack Mart turned out to be the most expensive including installation along with Firestone. Finally I hit the jackpot with Tire Factory. The guy on the phone quickly looked up for what I needed. I got 4 tires for about $337 that even included installation. He had to order them from the where house but they would arrive the next day. He called the next day saying they would arrive a little later but they were ready when I got off from work. After dropping my car off, took about half hour to get them taken care. I came back with new tires installed and no additional add on B.S. that some other companies usually do. I was taken care of and the warranty has some cool perks such as free tire rotations and free air to add on the tires. I walked away as a happy customer will definitely go back. read more

Today, the person who help me check inside the tire and they told me that the inside of my tire was already fixed 2 times and that's why my tire needs to fill the air every 3 days but we never fixed it . I got a "low tire pressure" light on my dashboard numerous times and when I took it in to Todd's they service technician told me this was common, tires leak air pressure all the time, though slowly. That may be true but this was too much too often. He refused to take the tire off to look for a leak. Finally I took my vehicle to Les Schwab and they did what needed to be done" they removed the tire and found a screw in it and patched it NO CHARGE! I am going back to Les Schwab from now on to get real good service instead of just adding air to the tire over and over again. read more

Bought some headlights at this store I was talked into the 70$ ones told they had a three year warranty. What a good deal so I thought. One light went out so I take there to get my free one and I'm told it's not the bulb it's a fuse lol.. so I leave take it to Baxter's and sure enough the bulb is out.. tire companies should stick with tires just like oil companies should just stick with oil changes.. so I ended up buying a set of bulbs since this place does not have the knowledge regarding headlights.. point s just so you know a 2018 Kia does not have a fuse for headlights lmao lessened learned for me.. I didn't go back because I was there once and it should have been fixed then had you tried more then one bulb and I live in Newberg read more

Charged $190 in labor to replace a sensor that takes under five minutes to replace. One screw. That's it. One screw right on top off the engine. My mom could fix it. Rip off! They also tried to charge an extra hundred to replace dash bulb. But hey, they did put air in one tire at no charge. Also, they messed up the accelerator cables when fixing the sensor, so that the idle speed was way too high to pass DEQ. They wanted to charge me again to fix the problem they messed up. They were going to charge me a $100 just to diagnose it, and it started when I got my car back from them. read more

Great service, wide range of in-stock tires and very reasonable prices. Pulled in yesterday afternoon, looking for a tire size pretty much every other dealer said couldn't be found (a LT All-Terrain 225/75R16). Not only could they get in the specific tire I was after, they had another brand in stock in the same specs. Other tire stores were trying to talk me into a P rated 235/70R16, but these guys just know tires. They also swapped over the front control arms on my car, after getting OEM replacements flown up from CA overnight at no extra charge. All up, they came in at $300 less than the next nearest quote and got the whole job (2 arms and 5 tires plus alignment) done in 3 hours, rather than a week. I dealt with Todd, who was very knowledgable and friendly and went out of his way to get everything I could ask for (including swapping the spare tire over at short notice). Could not recommend them more thoroughly, 10/10. read more

Bad service . I brought my car to Todd' shop to change my 4 tires in Sep-2019 , after 5 months I had a flat tire on the left side, I brought to them and needed to change the new one but the old one was disconnected so they ordered me the new brand tire , then I have to pay the same price for the new one . After few months later , the tire on the right side had a problem, I brought my car to Todd for checking up , they said that tire is OK , just needs more air. But after that, I have to fill the air every week. Yesterday, I brought my car to them again , they told me their employee changed the wrong tire and he's fired and no longer working at their shop so they won't guarantee our tires anymore . They asked me to pay the new one . I don't understand about that. I paid $886 for 4 new tires and have 5 years guarantee or 50.000 miles , now the tire got worse after 1 year and still under 50.000 miles but they blamed on the employee's fault ????? and refused to fix it if I don't pay for the new one. Please don't change the tire at their shop . The service is so bad. I will never come back to their shop . read more

I brought my car here after my passenger window got broken into, and these guys were great. I stopped in on Saturday, they had the replacement glass by Wednesday, and installed it on Thursday. They even cleaned up the broken glass for me! I didn't bother to price shop because my insurance covered everything, but the cost seemed very reasonable. These guys see me coming and start wringing their hands and counting the pennies :). Been doing business with them for like 20 years now. I manage my families "fleet" of vehicles, so always do the tire purchases and its admittedly frequent. I think Yelp says not to make reviews if you have a "relationship" with staff, but how's that possible if they do their job right? They are friendly and efficient, and remember you, as the staff has little change over. Every person I have referred has had great work done, and not been over/under sold. My fondest memory is when they sold me a set of tires that fit my need....for 45% more than what I wanted to spend. With a statement of don't think just buy, and a smile, they were right. Since then that type of tire has realigned with regular tires price wise, and I am not sorry I risked it. Nokian 4 Season tires for the win, like Franks Hot Sauce I put that @$%^ on everything. Except my big trucks, they get BFG ATs. We are never that ding dong stuck in the middle of the off-ramp trying to chain up, ditching a car on the freeway or going 20 mph in the snow. read more
