My buddy Dee referred me, saying they do good alignment work and that he goes here all the time. Left the 1st time and my steering wheel was still off-center, and I didn't notice until the next morning. Called them and scheduled couple days later. Left the 2nd time and my steering wheel was STILL off-center. At this that point, I was fed up and just had someone else correct their work. Service was quick and straight to the point, and you can't beat the price. Those two things really saved this place from getting a zero star review. You really get what you pay for. read more

Once again, Michael saved the day. I recently had all my tires replaced by A&M and just a few months later I get a nail in my tire. I have AWD & would have to replace every tire. I went to Les Schwab for free tire repair & they told me I needed all new tires & they couldn't touch it. I called Michael at A&M and he said the warranty on my tires bought from him could be replaced pro-rated w/ the warranty, but he wanted me to bring my tire in for him to check before deciding on a whole new set. I cant encourage how straight forward these guys are. Had a flat tire, all the bigger places were full and gave me the run around about how they couldnt get me in at all. Mike was able to fit me in after a few tire rotations and what not. The mechanic had my tire off, found the nail, patched it, tire back on, mounted in less than 9 minutes. My girlfriend and I were so shocked that something could run so smoothly and seamlessly. My face was in awe. I'm taking my Volvo back to get my front brakes done when the time is right. Took my car here on suggestion of a neighbor. Glad I did! I had a head gasket replaced on my Subaru Forester, which is known for oil leaks. They did a fabulous job at a decent price. Son I re-downloaded Yelp to post this because they're that good, and I never review anybody. I had my passenger rear tire de bead on me the other day on a trip. Back from California after I had bought a 98 GS400. Michael got right to work when I got the shop. He didn't try to sell me his most expensive tire. He found a good reliable tire, test fitted it and showed me, then had his guys take off my drivers side rear and replace it also as well. It maybe took them literally under 15 minutes it felt like. When the tow truck guy had came to help change the tire since you know, you can't fit the stock jack the car comes with if you have a significantly lowered car, it took him 45 minutes just to figure out we needed blocks to lift up the car, even though that's the first thing I suggested but he didn't even try. These guys at A&M knew exactly what they needed to do, first thing Michael had me do was put the car on blocks so they could jack it up. The crew there is careful but precise when taking off and putting on tires on wheels. No scratches at all, they also do stretched tires. They're professionals when it comes to lowered cars. It's not your 16 year old kid with a stock Subaru that swears he's a car guy. They know what they're doing and will do the job faster without risking your wheels or safety or complaining about having to do work. They love their job and cars. Would highly recommend them if you live in the Portland area, even if you don't, make the trip there, I'm going to whenever I need new tires from Bothell WA, so you might as well. It was only $225 to mount and balance the new tires, something that would probably been $400 at your local tire shop because they would've tried to upsell you. Took my G37 to get aligned a month ago (new tires) within a few weeks my rear tire blew. Took it to my regular shop and the driver rear was so toed in it caused a new tire to pop. Isiah the alignement guy (owners so ) is very nice. I just think he needs some more training. He then continued to deny he did anything, then claimed my shop blasted him on social media when they did no such thing. I sent isiah the video of his faulty alignement. If the shoe fits wear it i guess. Never taking any of my cars back. Highly recommend going to a professional shop. read more

Bought a new set of Weds and debated for months where to go to get tires mounted since these wheels are the most custom I have ever put on a vehicle and couldn't bear some wrench monkey putting so much as a scratch on them. Saw the reviews for A & M and decided to go check them out and was impressed the moment I went through the door and witnessed the manner in which Mike, the owner, was handling a customer's inquiry into aftermarket wheels and tires for his truck, and then another person's questions about setting spacers on his BMW to bring it closer to spec using non-stock wheels. Clearly the man knows his business and when my turn came, he addressed all of my concerns and covered all of the details before putting me in the schedule for first thing in the morning the following Sat. I arrived early on the appointed morning, and was greeted by Joel, Mike's side man on the weekends, and as he helped me get the wheels and tires out of my truck, we talked briefly about the set up and he got right to work mounting the tires. Shortly, after finishing the first one, Mike arrived, it was still 15 minutes before they were "officially" open, and proceeded to roll through the last two while carrying on a conversation complimenting the quality of the wheels. Really believe this is a business thoroughly deserving of the five star reviews and Mike and the crew truly care about the level of services they provide. I had a tire with a fast leak so I was freaking out, and noticed A&M's sign. This place was very fast. They were direct in the way they communicated about my tires and my car, and asked questions. They were helpful by giving me some info about my tires/rims they wanted to be sure I knew about. I was in and out in under 30 minutes for a great price. Originally called to have some tires fitted on my car. 2017 mustang GT with aftermarket wheels. I called because originally the first shops I called said my wheels would most likely get scratched doing this. These guys had zero issues test fitting the tires. I bought my tires here in late 2011 because they were close by and had good prices. But I keep going back because of their dedication to quality & satisfaction. Like others said, they are very fast: usually get right in and they get right to work. I have never felt pressured or stressed like I have at other places (Les Schwab & Firestone). And when I have expressed a concern or asked a question, their advice has always been correct. This last time I stopped in because of a shimmy/shake that Firestone failed to diagnose during a previous visit. The guys at A & M checked and found a tire with a 'trifecta' of issues: screw in the tire, cracks around the tire bead, and an area of separation. They offered me an awesome deal on a set of high quality trade-in Continental tires. Now my car drives like a dream. The visit before that I brought in a car I recently bought that had a slow leak in one of the tires. It was only 30 minutes before they closed, but you couldn't tell. They were happy to take a look and quickly found the nail buried in the tread. Not only did they fix the tire, they took the time to clean the rim of built up corrosion they said could also cause slow leaks. It's clear they genuinely care about the safety, budget and concerns of their customers. I have moved to a different part of Portland since my first visit, but I continue to go there because it's well worth the trip! read more

Quoted me 125 for my alternator to be replaced, I requested my v belts get replaced In the process then mike tripled the cost to 375 after they already did all the work/didn't ask be before hand. Otherwise I'd of asked for my car back to do the he alternator myself. On top of this they didn't replace the belts and said they were fine. They had the audacity to Give me my car back at their closing time with the belts slipping immediately. Took it back to Them n they up charged me on the cheapest belts they could get from NAPA. These guys suck and Mike was very rude and demeaning. Mechanic who worked on my car was nice however, he deserves better. read more

So if you're gonna have a major flat tire, no better place to have it than in front of A&M Tire Company. While I had no idea I was pulling up in front of their business when I pulled over with a flat, I was so very grateful that I did. Michael and his employee could hear I had a flat before they even saw me and came out to help, not as salesman, just as good Samaritans, even though they were in the middle of moving into their new space. They had plenty to do, but they took the time to help me. They were so friendly, and so fast. They changed out my flat with my spare tire (and checked to make sure I had enough air in the spare, taking the time to fill it with more), and put everything back together. And didn't even ask to be paid. They just wanted to help. I had to force payment on them. There are still good people in the world, and Michael and his employee are two of them. I had a valve stem break on one of my tires. I brought my car in and they were quick to check out my tire and diagnose the issue. I needed two front tires pretty badly and I was about $10 short and they told me not to worry about it. I was stressed about it as I drive Uber and need to keep my vehicle safe and said I would bring in the other $10 and they said again not to worry. A&M takes excellent care of their customers. I was in a pickle. My tire had just had a nail go right through it and it was leaking air big time. I managed to pull off the freeway and get to a major tire shop. They quoted me a 2-3 hour wait for them to just look at it.. called another competitor and they said closer to 2hrs. "Can you guys just patch it up? I am in a big hurry!" No, we have to get through everyone first before we even look at it. Called A&M and they told me to come right over. Although they had jobs lined up, they jumped out of their way and took care of me. I called and they got me in the next day and did the alignment as soon as I got there and even showed me on a model how out of whack it was. Then 2 days later I had a flat tire and it was fixed promptly. I can wholeheartedly say that A&M is the best mechanic I've ever been to and I hope I never have to go anywhere else for my car needs again. It's a family-run business and it's clear that they care about what they do and who they work with. Michael seems to handle most things customer-facing and is clear, responsive, and kind. I first visited the shop when picking up my sister who was having some work done on her car and when I mentioned that mine was making a weird noise, they took the time (even though they were busy) to look at it (and didn't charge me). I brought my car back in to have some work done recently and they worked quickly and offered honest recommendations without being pushy at all. They also did a few other little things for me that weren't part of my initial appointment (oil change, air in tires).
