When you make an appointment to have your tires rotated, you think it wouldn't take too long as you've got an appointment, you're not a walk in. I've watched my tires get rotated before, it takes 15 minutes. Yet I sit for over an hour, this being my second time here and the first time was over an hour as well. To make matters worse they are remodeling so the showroom is closed and even though there's an enclosure it's freezing. This is my second time utilizing this location. Rims/tires. I've not felt pressured, & feel good about my purchase. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. They get busy, and even with phones ringing, and people waiting they remain professional and informative. The value is great, I have had no issues with my purchases. They have easy ways to handle service requests from online booking to vehicle tracking so you know what is being done, where you are in the process. I believe this last time I was helped by Cody - he was very sweet and informed me I still had several thousand miles on my current tires - HONESTY - what a concept!! Cold day in hell before I go back there. It should've been really simple. Remove snow tires on vehicle, bag them, put them in car. Put hub caps in car. Install TPMS, which I supplied, on new wheels, ordered from Tire Rack with new tires which I also supplied. Program TPMS as necessary. The tech removed the valve stem caps and stem cores from my snow tires and did not replace them for unknown reasons. My hubcaps were missing for unknown reasons also. It took me four trips back to this store to correct all this. I received NO call backs after ordering the hubcaps. I got the standard apology but that doesn't give me my lost time back. read more

Update, their claims department is trying to tell me that they didn't do it because there is no cameras and no witnesses. That is negligence on their part, as you should either have cameras or take a video of the car before it is pulled into the shop. I now have to get a lawyer to just get my car fixed. Seems they do things that way so if something happens, they don't have to pay. Super shady and not okay at all. One of the managers, I believe his name was Eric, tried to tell me on the phone that there was no possible way they could have done that, and was very persistent. But I KNOW the damage happened at their shop. The lack of responsibility is ASTOUNDING. Not to mention they also never even balanced my tires correctly when they changed them. I have been coming to this Discount Tire for years. I try to support local business. I would say the good old days of service are gone. I requested to have my tire rotated. They are so focused on upselling and avoiding maintenance for their customers. I would recommend just using Costco. Their prices are always better. They stand behind their products and listen to common sense. I myself will stop trying to support them and I will go to Costco. At least I can multi task there while I wait hours for service. read more

They were friendly and prompt on installation. However, I HIGHLY recommend you have your tires installed somewhere that does alignment, save yourself the trip to discount followed by a trip to a shop that does alignment. I have always stayed up on having my tires rotated and pressure balanced. Following have new tires installed, my car immediately pulls heavily to the right. I have to wait a week to get in somewhere else now. I'm told most places that do tire installations also check alignment. NOT TO MENTION when I called about the issue they told me to come back, just to tell me they don't do alignments! I also ordered new windshield wipers, they streaked immediately, they tried multiple replacement pairs, which I do appreciate, they guy was really nice about it and was as stump as me, because they all ended up streaking. read more

This is a post script to my previous review. I sent a letter to Discount Tire regional headquarters to tell someone there what had happened to me and how I was treated, as well as filing a claim with their insurance company as noted in the previous review. I subsequently received a voice mail in early December from the store manager telling me that he had received a copy of my letter from the regional office and he had not filed a dispute about my claim, and he offered to put me in touch with a friend of his that he thought could do the repair. Not wanting any more to do with him I didn't return his call. Instead I called the insurance company back and asked the person who I had been in contact there about the dispute, as she was the person that had told me originally that a dispute had been filed. I assumed that it was the manager who had done it but she could not verify who in the chain of responsibility had actually filed it as there were several names attached to the claim, but she confirmed definitely that a dispute had been filed by someone at Discount Tire. If it was not made by the manager, my rhetorical question is who would have done it? Unless it's just routine policy to dispute any damage claim, which is not good policy. I don't know exactly how to interpret all this but I trust the insurance adjuster 100% and I don't trust Discount Tire at all. The only good part about this car damaging, time consuming, and personally demeaning experience is that yesterday I received a check from the insurance company in the amount of the estimate I received from the leather repair company that the insurance company had recommended I go to for the estimate. I could not edit the original review to add this information so I had to write a new one, but I have to give them one star again for the way they dealt with me after the fact. I will never go back to this store. I paid a lot of money for lifetime warranties on two sets of tires in the past year so I'm kind of stuck with them but it will be a different location. Anecdotally, I spoke with a friend about this experience as I know he buys tires from Discount and he related an incident to me where a leather seat in his wife's Mercedes was damaged by a stereo installer. They called her and told her what had happened, and had scheduled an appointment with a repair company to repair the damage before calling her. Quite a difference. read more

Their website contains excellent information to help in selecting a tire, better than others I looked at. I made my purchase online, then made an appointment to install at the closest franchise. The experience of installing the tires was more mixed: I had hoped that making an appointment would lessen the waiting time, as I own 1 vehicle and would have to wait while they did the work. Not so much. It took short of 2 hours before they finished the install. In reading forums of other Discount Tire experiences, which were generally favorable, several mentioned that while putting on the new tires, they would check the state of the brakes and alignment. Costco and Les Schwab both do this, for example. But they told me they did not do so, as they were a tire-only shop. Since many brake shops will also do free checks of brakes/alignments, it is a minor inconvenience. Subsequently I read that checking brake pad wear and wheel alignment is done by some but not all Discount Tire franchises. If this is important to you, check before you buy. Discount Tire does do flat repair and rotation for the life of the tire as part of their price, as do their competitors. All in all, I am happy to have found good tires at a good price. read more

Discrimation is real. On 03/06/25, at approximately 0850, I went to the Clackamas OR store. When I arrived there was one car in the Parking lot and 3 cars in the bay. I went to the first counter and a white male with red hair was typing into the computer. He never acknowledged me. The second counter 1 man was on the phone and another man was helping him look up items. The male that was helping the other looked at me and said I will be right with you. I responded "ok". I stood there for 5 more minutes then took a seat in front of the counter. When the second guy got off the phone him and the other man just stood there talking. They started pacing around the red head man who was still at the computer. No one acknowledged me. Finally someone came in from the bay area and asked me if I needed any help. I replied loudly "thank you so much for asking. " I walked up to the counter and told him I needed some tires. The other man, who told me he would be with me in a minute, started laughing then walked over to the red haired man and whispered something to him. The man with the red hair looked at me and they both started laughing. There were only 3 customers sitting in the lobby. I told the guy who was supposed to help me that he was an asshole and I can go anywhere and buy tires. I walked out the store and as I was standing in the parking lot a white female pulled up and started walking to the door. One of the employees met her at the door and helped her right away. I've been buying tires from your company for over 15 years. My 4 kids also buy tires there. I have never been treated so disrespectful. I appreciate good customer service and I am willing to pay more for a product if the customer service is good. After installing my new tires and and handing me my keys. I get to my car and the are gobs of bead seal smeared on my tires and wheel. As I look closer I see 3 scratches through the black paint that weren't there in the morning when I washed it. They peeled off my old weight to rebalance and left the 2 sided tape from the old weight. These are 5 spokes 20" wheels on an RT Challenger. read more

I had to stop in for a new tire a few weeks ago. Then needed to come back for another and decided to get all of the other 3 updated as well. The staff was all friendly and helpful to every single person in there, including a guy who just came in to get directions to Walmart. They always seem to have a full schedule and keep it moving along. They didn't pressure me either time to buy more than one but it was so much more affordable than I was expecting so I just got it done. I realized it made me a little nervous that as soon as I spring for a new set, I'll get a nail in one or something but then I remembered they fix tires for free! There was a woman in there who went to pay and they said no need, they were able to fix it and there would be no charge. The waiting area is spacious and the restroom, while basic, was actually stocked with tp and paper towels and had a changing station. I can happily give this place a solid 5 stars. read more

The customer service was okay; however I noticed they put me down as a walk-in after falsely completing my appointment. I assume they did this to keep their wait time down below an hour. so don't believe everything you read online. I hope management realizes there was two customers under the same name and hold the place accountable for manipulating their processing system.
