Would give this 0 stars if I could just based off the estimate, it's that bad. When I lived in Vegas, I'd curb rash my car every now and then. The wheel repair place I'd go to would always take care of it at around $100 a wheel in just a few hours. Unfortunately, I curb rashed two of my wheels before I came back to Oregon and decided to get an estimate here. The quote is absolutely criminal. They said they needed to take off both wheels, completely strip them down and repaint them completely just for some curb rash on the edges. The whole estimate would be more than $800. I could buy brand new OEM wheels and still have a few hundred left. If your damage is minimal, you might as well learn to do it on your own as there aren't many good choices for rim repair in the Portland area. read more

Possibly the worst job on a wheel that I've ever seen. I had my carbon fiber wheel taken to these guys from a dealership and they totally destroyed my wheel. It is now going to cost the dealer a new wheel at 5k. Don't ever take anything to these people unless you want your item to be totally destroyed. Wheeldoctorpdx saved me $$$ by removing corrosion from my original rims (instead of buying new rims). When I got new tires at Costco for my 2002 Cherokee (10 year old tires, one with a slow leak), Costco pointed out that my original wheels have internal corrosion that could lead to bad seals. I was looking at $170 ea for new wheels, plus $20 ea for mounting, plus even more for new sensors / stems. I started looking around for a more affordable solution and found Wheeldoctorpdx. They fixed the internal corrosion, put in new sensors and stems, and remounted and balanced the tires. They even re-synced the sensors to the car (which a lot of places forget). Like others I'd give zero stars if it were possible. I had these people do corrosion repair on 4 wheels 3 years ago. The total bill was $412, about $100 per wheel. This week I contacted them again as 2 of the wheels were again corroded. After a preliminary phone call I dropped the car off late morning for some corrosion repair on the wheels, only to find them not open except for a guy sweeping the driveway. He opened up and called the owner to find a blank work order, which I had to fill out myself in the dark as he couldn't find the light switch. I picked up the car today, same guy came out to help but didn't know where the invoice was. After awhile another person came out of the back office but he was likewise unable to find paperwork. After 20 minutes of this they called the bookkeeper, she gave them the amount and said she would email an invoice to me. The amount I was charged to do just 2 wheels was $505. Note that there is a $25 charge/wheel just to remove and reinstall the wheels from the car. There is a $30 charge/wheel just for taking the tire off the rim. Then there is a $45 charge/wheel to mount and balance. The corrosion repair portion of the project had jumped from $75/wheel to $125. I complained and they called the owner on his cell for me to talk with. His answer for what was a 250% increase in the bill was that inflation was to blame and its all the government's fault. I just hung up. If you can possibly do so, take your business elsewhere. This is flat out highway robbery. read more

*** Consumer Warning*** Based on the many glowing reviews here, I took my car to The Wheel Doctor. Upon completion, my car was parked outside in heavy rain. Once dry at home I noticed extensive clearcoat issues on the newly painted wheel due to the rain and the repair was not strait or true. In fact the wheel appeared ruined. I contacted the company and was told it bring it back in a couple of weeks after it was fully cured, that they stood behind their work 100%, no problem. When I arrived, the owner told me the initial fix and quote was a "lipstick" repair and that if I wanted the wheel actually fixed it would cost an additional $100 on top of what I had already paid and would take all day. No offer for reimbursement for my time or inconvenience caused by their poor workmanship. Throughout the conversation, the owner was incredibly unprofessional, belligerent and rude. This encounter ended with him literally yelling at me. I have lost all faith in this company to complete the repair in good faith. Shockingly incompetent and downright scary, I have never dealt with such a shady operation. I am leaving this review with the hope others may learn from my mistake. I needed a rush repair on a rather rare 2005 Chrysler Crossfire stock wheel that had been cracked in two places by the previous owner. To begin this review, I am not a problematic person. Just an individual that wanted to get a curb rash fixed on their wheel. I found this business through Yelp on a Monday night, then messaged the business for a quote. The owner of this business gave me a quote by just looking at the photo that I sent of my curb rashed wheel. The owner allowed me to set up an appointment for the following day (Tuesday). I went to the business Tuesday morning around 10AM and an employee was able to see the damage in person. The employee then quoted me less than what I was told. At the time, I had received a 5% off coupon through Yelp for the business for 5% off of the total bill. I asked the employee if this would work and he confirmed that it would. I was told it would only take a few hours to be repaired and be ready for pick up. Around 4PM that day, I called to see if it would be ready for pick up. I got confirmation that it was ready for pick up so I went to go pick it up. Be mindful, I do not live anywhere near this business. When I got to wheel doctor, I looked at my wheel before going to pay my bill. The wheel was a completely different shade from my other wheels, had a huge nick on the rim that wasn't there before, and had dry paint spots that were not removable all on the face and barrel of the wheel. I went inside to discuss the issues with the owner. So they came out and noticed everything that I did. At this point, they knew that the car shouldn't have been ready to pick up and should've been fixed before telling me it was ready. But they took the initiative and told me they would fix it if I brought it back. I told them I could leave the car and pick it up the next day, which they confirmed it would be fixed and ready. So I left and texted them later to ask for progress photos for whenever they began to redo the wheel. On the next day (Wednesday), I texted the business owner to get progress photos, which they responded. I asked for when the car would be ready for pick up as it was later in the afternoon and the business closes at 5PM. No response. I texted back around 4PM and got confirmation it would be ready at 5:15PM. As I pulled into wheel doctor once again, I noticed that my wheel was redone but extremely dirty and had some areas with dry spots still. I figured since they redid my wheel, I wouldn't complain even though it wasn't done correctly. I went inside to pay for my bill and the employee that quoted me the day before was taking care of my bill. When he told me the bill cost, he was confused because he had quoted me much less. So he called the owner over the phone to ask why. Once he got off of the phone, I discussed with him that he quoted me a completely different price from the bill. So he called the owner so I could talk to her even though I didn't ask to. At this time, I was talking to the owner using the employees phone about an issue of billing because they both quoted me different cost. One individual quoted me through a photo I sent while the other quoted me by seeing it in person. The owner stated that they could negotiate a pricing with me and told me the 5% coupon is expired, which it is not. The owner than quotes me less then the original but more then the employee quoted me before he called her and stated that there is nothing else she can do for me. Even though I was quoted a completely different price. Even though I was told the coupon would work. And even though they completely messed up my wheel the first time and thought I was going to be fine with the product that I am paying money to be fixed. I do not understand any business that operates like this and thinks this is the customer service experience for individuals. read more
