Having lived in Happy Valley for nearly 15 years, the Firestone on 82nd Ave had always been my trusted spot for automotive care. Even after moving about 30 minutes away, that location remained top of mind. But for convenience, I recently decided to try a Firestone closer to my new home--and quickly realized it was a decision I'd come to regret. I brought my vehicle in because I was experiencing a pulsation in the brakes and steering wheel whenever I applied the brakes at highway speeds. After doing some research, I learned that a misalignment could be contributing to the issue. Since I had a lifetime alignment package with Firestone, I brought it to the closer location, hoping for a quick and professional fix. While that location completed the alignment, they unfortunately damaged the manufacturer's skid plate while taking the car off the ramp, and blamed my aftermarket wheels for having lower ground clearance. After some back and forth, they agreed to replace the skid plate at no cost--but I made it clear I preferred to have the work completed at the Happy Valley location instead. Not feeling confident in the other store, I contacted the Happy Valley team and spoke with the store manager, Leeanne. She immediately offered to coordinate everything with the other location so all I had to do was bring in my vehicle. I even received a call from their General Manager, Chris, who explained that while an alignment wouldn't solve the pulsation issue, he knew exactly what was causing it and would have it addressed. At my appointment, Service Manager Aaron welcomed me and reassured me that only his lead technician would be working on the vehicle. While the service took most of the day, I was kept updated throughout. It was clear they understood how frustrated I was and were doing everything they could to make things right. It's been a few weeks since the visit, and I'm happy to report that not only did the Happy Valley team fix what the other location had mishandled--they also resolved the pulsation issue entirely. I'm incredibly grateful for their professionalism, transparency, and dedication to restoring my trust. read more

Two previous pleasant visits to this Firestone location for same 4 wheel alignment service, in Feb and Jun 2024. But this latest experience on December 3rd was beyond disappointing. I made online appointment 11AM as confirmed via email + phone call that morning. Upon arrival, employee told me appointment is actually 1130AM and made me wait until then for vehicle to be serviced. Whatever. Then my 4 year old daughter and I walked to a nearby Walmart to kill time. Upon return at 1PM, same employee said they are still working on it, without further details until minutes later I check back, he said that due to vehicle being HYBRID they are not knowledgeable on working on it by reading dealer manuals. I said the last two visits were fine, why now? He said Master tech who knows is not working today they will contact him. Later said vehicle unable to be put in REVERSE because eBrake is engaged so they could not back out vehicle from garage although alignment has been done. By 155PM I still have no update. I told them I need to leave now to airport flight to San Diego. Called Uber ride to get home. Brother in law had to retrieve vehicle for my wife the owner of vehicle. During my ride to the airport I called them to advise my brother in law contact name and number for vehicle pickup, and LeeAnne replied: "Literally 4 seconds after you left (on Uber ride), your vehicle was done," YET FOR 48 MINUTES SINCE MY DEPARTURE THERE WAS ZERO COURTESY CALL TO U PDATE ME THAT. I had to call to find out. Beyond ridiculous. Last two visits same vehicle quickly serviced within 1.5 hrs without hitch. Incompetence of the current employees needs review. read more

Greeting was friendly. The intake for the appointment was smoothly until a surprise in a charge that was not mentioned prior to arrival after confirming seven days prior that there will be no hidden charges as this is a complaint from other customers in the reviews the discrepancy is in the installation charges When they are posted by corporate. This Location does not follow the corporate structure in pricing. The technician was very helpful and informative An A for the technician. Count on a lengthy appointment even just for tires for something that it should have taken an hour or less had taken the quoted 2 to 3 hour wait because they are more concerned about up selling you everything that they sell. They are bringing awareness to customers, however the impression given is they're more worried about pushing more product out the door than what the actual appt is made for. If you have a specific task, avoid this location. If your time means nothing, it would be OK. Tires anywhere else! Please note technicians were great. However, the front end is knowledgeable, but the concern and impression given is to line their pockets obviously at the customers expense. I have been a business owner for nearly 40 years if I've taken advantage of my customers as I have experienced here I would not of had a successful business this long. read more

The good: This is the only place open on Sunday afternoon, so that's where I had my van towed. They did a good job on the repairs they actually did (tire replacement, oil change, new battery.) The bad: They said I needed $2000 in repairs overall, including a new timing belt and water pump. I said no and took the van to my regular mechanic. Sure enough, the van literally needed only HALF of the repairs that Firestone claimed it did! My mechanic pointed out that the information about the last time the timing belt was changed is written on a sticker under the hood of the van, because they changed it last time. There was no way it needed to be changed again. There was nothing wrong with the water pump. The axle did have issues and did need to be fixed, but my regular mechanic fixed it. So on the one hand, if you absolutely need repairs on Sunday, Firestone is there. But this really felt like an attempted con job. Half of these repairs did not need to be done and they should have clearly seen they did not need to be done. read more

I made an appointment for 1 o'clock a few days ago.. I showed up 10 minutes early. There was about 3 people here when I got here. All of them were picking up their cars, so leaving basically nobody in the lobby. There is a few cars in bays, and me. I was there until 5 o'clock. Seriously? 4 hours for tires? With an appointment? Fucking crazy. They did find a stripped lug stud that I knew about already and they retapped the threads and replaced the lug nut that was missing. So that was cool. I was surprised they didn't attempt to upsale me on a bunch of stuff I didn't need. They did tell me my battery failed. But it's been starting and I carry a jump box anyway.. so I'm not replacing that yet. All in all not a bad experience, exept I was there for 4 hours with an appointment... so I'd recommend dropping off your car. read more

Nothing seems to ever change... I set an appointment for Tuesday at 2:00pm. to get a screw removed from my tire! I received a call that they now cannot get me in until 2 days later (Thurs @ 4:00pm). Yes these are tires I purchased from Firestone ($1,100). I get the feeling that since it would be a "free" service, they are putting me off! The best way I could describe this establishment is "SLOPPY AND INCONSIDERATE" Here are the sequence of events WHY I ONLY GAVE THEM 2 STARS: 1. I had an 11:00 am appointment. 2. I called at 9:30 to confirm 3. When I showed up at 11:00 I was told there would be a 1 hour wait. (If they had told me that they couldn't service my car until noon, I could have stayed home and got work done.) 4. I left​, did some errands and came back at noon, and they told me they still couldn't get started to sit and wait, which I did. 5. When it came time for them to work on my car, that is when they decided to look at the car and said they couldn't do the work unless I bought new tires because even though the existing tires were OK they were out of Firestone's specifications. 6. So I was held up until I agreed to buy new tires. :-(( 7. When the work was done, I paid, and when I walked out to my car, I immediately saw that they had forgotten to put back one of the hubcaps. 8. When I brought it to their attention I was treated like an annoyance and had to wait awhile for them to finally find someone who could take the time to find and put on my hubcap. 9. When I finally got to leave, my brakes now pulse and jump. I'm so frustrated that I'm willing to pay an independent garage to repair Firestone's repairs. read more

Be ready to have your appointment changed without your consent. I went in, and I had the tires rotated. The person who changed the tires stole my change drawer, weird. I left and at least had tires rotated. I returned today, and the manager told me that my tires were too old to rotate. I asked for the contract or the law. She took her time to get that and gave an inaccurate ORS--that the Oregon Revised Statutes. First, I have two 2019 tires on the car and two from 2015/2016, which was verified by Les Schwab. Nick in Milwaukie performed a check. He told me he would rotate them for free as a courtesy. He carefully showed the tread, which is within the legal limit at 3/32 or a little higher in front and 6/32 in the rear. He explained that it was best to leave the best tires on back, because it helps in rainy/colder weather. It helps prevents the rear tires provide traction. I agree. He advised that I can wait until spring and replace two or four, but he was clear that this wasn't a huge risk. Basically, keep an eye on the feel and tread of the front tires. Thank you, Les Schwab for doing Firestone's job. The funny thing about this is Firestone would NOT have had to rotate the tires if they weren't 'lazy. I watched as a worker hit a rotor hard with a mallet. I've never seen anything like it. Don't leave your car here. Watch. They steal and lie. Several years ago I had a really bad experience with this place felt taken advantage of and way over charged after talking to other mechanics. I made the mistake of giving them a nother chance aprox 2 months ago thinking it must be a better place or they would be out of business by now. I purchased a set of tires for around $700 not cheap tires. After only about 200 miles I have a flat from probably a nail or something and they tell me absolutely no warranty for the repairs. I had an appointment scheduled and confirmed and took time off of work to take my car in. when I arrived, they told me they would not honor the appointment because they were understaffed and then asked if I wanted to schedule a future appointment. Justin is a very vindictive employee. My girlfriend came in for an alignment at 12:00, and a new tire. They discovered she had a cracked wheel, and was going to have a guy run the right sized tire for the wheel down because they didn't have it in stock, they told my girlfriend it will be quick, as she has work soon. After 5 hours of waiting, they finally tell her that it's not going to be today, however they did manage to do the alignment and are not charging her, which was an acceptable remedy to the situation they caused, but that's 5 hours of her day stolen. They take her car off the lift after putting on her spare, and send her home. She drives home at 5:00pm. I get home at 5:30, and notice that the spare wheel that Firestone put on, they put it on without all the lugnuts on. So after wasting her time, and putting her life in danger with a loose spare, I call them and ask if she got the wheel back. They said no, they said if I want the wheel back, I will need to pay the FULL alignment amount that they just gave to us for, what we thought, was for wasting her entire day but no, they were holding the wheel hostage till they got paid for the alignment they gave us for free. We arrive at the store AGAIN and pay the full price for an alignment just so I can get her wheel back, that took 5 hours to get off and made her miss work. I know Justin wouldn't be at work for 5 hours for free with no compensation. Why is the customer made to? Unprofessional, bad attitude and not remorseful in the slightest. I've purchased all my tires, had all my oil changes and repairs done with you folks, I started at the OC shop and when I moved, I changed to the HV shop. Well it's time for my oil change, but after how Zoe treated me last time I was there for an oil change and a wiring issue I will NEVER come back. I called the corporate office to make formal complaint and I was told Creed would call me...well, I have put 5000 miles on my car and Creed I'm still WAITING for your call. Firestone was a lifesaver for me over the holiday weekend. I got a nail in my tire Saturday evening, and they were one of the few auto companies open on a Sunday. They were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. Luckily, the nail didn't do much damage to my tire, and after a few hours, my car was all set. Never going to bother using this place again!!!! I used their online appointment scheduler Saturday to set up an oil change for 8 am Sunday. Their system accepted it, I showed up at 7:50 just to make sure I was on time.... the guy said they had no time for me and couldn't get me in. Why have a website that allows you to set up an appointment if you can't even do the work?! Take your business elsewhere, there are plenty of other places that have better customer service. I set up an appointment last Saturday for an appointment today to drop off my truck at 7 am. I was there in the parking got by 6:50 and in the doors by 7. I was told in the office they would start the inspection first thing and call me in a hour to give me a quote, even though I told them no matter what, I need new shocks and struts. Its now been 5 hours , and still no call yet? Have they even looked at my truck? Have they started work without an official quote? This is terrible customer service, and wouldn't recommend anyone leaving these guys with their vehicle. They finally answered my call after 5.5 hours and said I needed to leave my truck for over 24 more hours to get the parts, and have it fixed. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I have been going to this location for a few years now, and it's always a pleasant visit. It can take some time but it's worth the wait due to the extraordinary vehicle service. There is a particular technician who's very knowledgeable and has always offered me insightful advice for caring for my car, he does fantastic work. Well, they were very nice to my face, but almost killing me and not apologizing can't be forgiven. I had 4 tires replaced 1 1/2 months ago. Something just didn't seem right afterward. The road noise was louder and there was a scraping sound sometimes, but really, what do I know. I went in 2 weeks ago to have the alignment done. The odd noise got louder. Then 2 days ago, I'm driving on the freeway, going 65 MPH, and I lose total control of my car. I coast into the left shoulder lane, which was not a safe place to be, and called 911. The officer was astounded that nothing worse happened, because my wheel was falling off. With me being 4 months pregnant and my 3 year old in the car with me, this could have been a totally different story. She called and had me towed back to the Firestone. They have the audacity to claim that it's not their fault, so someone must have done this. I work graveyard shift, my car is parked under a security camera, so I see it all night. When I am home, its daylight, and my car is parked in my driveway or in the garage. So, the story they want me to believe, is that even though my car was just in their care specifically for tires, that instead of someone dropping the ball at their facility, that a random person unscrewed my lug nuts, but didn't take anything, on two of my tires. This said random individual also left my other car alone, which is parked on the street at night. Sorry, no one believes you, and I doubt anyone ever will. The shop manager was willing to pay for the damage and did not keep me waiting. Fast and easy process....and so was the tire change. I was in and out within about an hour. read more

I bought some firestone tires online and had them shipped here for the install. Justin was there to help with every step and was polite and knowledgeable. I was swapping different wheel and tire setups and they got it done without issue. A couple months later I unfortunately got a flat tire, and they took care of it, no questions asked. The tire ended up being defective and so they honored the warranty and covered repairs for 2 tires to ensure even tread wear. Highly recommend this shop! read more

I gave this place a five star review a few years ago, so they must have really gone down hill recently. These guys they've hired are so mean and intimidating, they should be bouncers in a busy sleazy nightclub. I had a coupon for an oil change and asked them if it could be done in about an hour. Apparently, I did something this guy didn't like, I don't know. It could be all my pro gay bumper stickers? Also, he insisted I come back right away and get tires and printed me out a very expensive estimate to my annoyance. When I picked up my vehicle, he said it will overheat unless I add more coolant. I checked the level and looking at it, the level was right in the middle so I didn't worry about it. I rode about thirty or forty minutes and it overheated. Then I discovered the radiator cap was not tightened on right, just sitting there leaking air. I had to get it towed back home and barely made it back to their shop before it overheated again, after I put more fluid in and tightened the cap. The manager was very sweet though, and comped me some time to look over it. Then he wanted over $300 bucks to fix it! I called my regular mechanic and I discovered that they probably fried the water pump because of that, and the other guys charged me nearly a hundred dollars less. With the exception of the young manager, those thugs there treated me as if I was causing all of the trouble and tried to intimidate me a lot. I should give them a star for giving me some free work and a free radiator fill and "burp", yet I wonder if it was just to get more money out of me? I don't know, I'm just glad I got a second opinion, and also talked to a few of my mechanic friends to help me through situations like this, otherwise I would be another victim in scams like this. read more
