I went in for a routine oil change for my 2019 Toyota RAV4 and left paying over $650 after being strongly encouraged to approve multiple "recommended" services. Had I been given clearer information or told these services were optional or premature, I would not have agreed The staff was polite, but the upselling was excessive and misleading. That said, my original concern remains several services were presented as necessary at the time of my visit, and I later learned they were likely premature for my vehicle's mileage. My roommate goes to this jiffy Lube, and evidently doesn't have a problem. The one time I take my car there they put the wrong oil in and I drive away not understanding that the noises were made from that. Two days later I finally decided I was gonna check the oil and there was this white gunk that looked like snot on the end of my dipstick. I immediately went to Jiffy Lube and was gaslighted into supposedly thinking that it was engine sludge. Now I do have a 2011 terrain. But we just had a new engine put in five years ago. My gas mileage is actually 80,000 miles lower than my meter. But they still tried to tell me that this gunk was engine sledge, which is normally black. They did try to upsell me for my original visit and I said no to extras. But then when I brought it back with this problem, this young guy sat there and argued with me that they didn't do anything and that this was normal for an old engine. I feel like they took one look at me and said oh it's a female she doesn't know anything, let me tell her anything. I ended up taking the car to the dealership. They had to completely flush it out, and redo the oil change with the correct oil! I don't even want to say how much that cost!! So I definitely will not recommend them, in fact, I will adamantly tell people not to go there! Very disappointed and it was an expensive lesson. This was a clear-cut case of bait and switch - now with gaslighting on top. Yesterday I went online to Jiffy Lube's site, put in all my information and was given an estimate of one price. I then went to the place and waited my turn for over 1/2 hour, only to be told when I started to hand over the keys that the price would be 33% higher. I explained I got an estimate from Jiffy Lube of the original price, and I was told they always get it wrong and that if I wanted the service it would be 25% higher. When it became clear that that estimate I got was worthless, and they had no intention of honoring it, I turned around and walked out the door. I wasted part of my work day moving around meetings just to go and sit for no good reason. I don't know why I expected anything more from Jiffy Lube as I stopped taking my cars to them for other service years ago due to similar lack of customer care. -Update- Just now I got a call from someone claiming to be related to Jiffy Lube. I couldn't hear their name because I answered the phone in my car while driving with my kids in the back seat (listening the whole time). The person spent several minutes trying to gaslight me by saying that the website says the pricing "starts at" the dollar amount I was quoted, like that makes whatever number I was given completely worthless, and I should not only be OK with that as I should have known better... Yes, I understand the website says "starts at", but that number remained constant throughout the entire process including after you had all of my vehicle information when you emailed me the same the same dollar amount. Service estimates are only supposed to change if you discover new information about my vehicle, such as I forgot to tell you something important or you discovered something else wrong with the vehicle, but that is NOT the case here. I was told by the person at the service desk I was misquoted the second they pulled me up in the system (with no new information from me or about my car) because "they (Jiffy Lube) always get it wrong" - that means you are repeatedly intentionally misleading customers to get them in the door in hopes they will just accept the price change after they have been waiting an extended period of time for service. You can't honestly be serious and ask a customer to pay 1/3rd more because somehow your company has no clue what the real price of the service is even after being provided all the relevant information up front to the point where you take it to the next level and email them the same quote. Never in my 30+years of getting work done on my car has a service estimate changed without some new dramatic information being obtained (which again did not occur here). Even then when the needle has moved some because of some information, it hasn't gone up by 1/3rd. I do NOT appreciate the person on the phone arguing and gaslighting about how service estimates work, nor do I appreciate being spoken over repeatedly where my kids could hear them being rude. I also don't appreciate "Well I was going to call the service center and get them to give you a credit for the difference but now.." like somehow, I am supposed to change my 30 year experience of how service estimates work and be grateful at a carrot being dangled in front of me despite the person being condescending. It is exactly this type of attitude and misleading of customers that I experienced in the past that caused me to stop taking my cars to Jiffy Lube. As I tried to tell the person on the phone, before I had to hang up on them because they wouldn't stop talking over me, I wouldn't let Jiffy Lube touch my car at this point because I have 0 doubt you would try to find ways to either mess the service up or bring more charges in through some other excuse. I'm now taking my car to a reputable service center and gladly pay more for competent service that isn't going to be misquoted as a bait and switch which will somehow be my fault. read more

This business will lie to you and tell you that they do not provide a service just so they don't have to work. I experienced that today unfortunately. As they were all sitting at a table in front of their business, as I drive in, I asked for an oil change. The older Asian man asked me to pop my hood and quickly told me that he does not provide oil changes from my car. When he clearly saw the sticker that I was pointing at that, I have been serviced by Jiffy Lube prior to this visit, he said they cannot change my oil today. I was very disheartened, and while I kept my cool, I was not disrespectful because my conversation was recorded, I specifically asked why my service could not be rendered? And they stated because I had a Plastic part. I thought this was a franchise. And all Jiffy Lube locations are equipped with tools to handle different cars with different Pans and plugs or what have you I had to go out of my way and go to the Germantown location. And after doing my research, it was clear as day that they did not wanna service my car. And I don't understand or comprehend the reason why they lied to me. read more

Stopped in because my brakes were making a funny sound, like a grinding, and the pedal was a little softer. I thought it might be my brake pads, so I took the car in on a weekday afternoon to have my brakes checked. The brake pads - the more expensive possibility - turned out to be fine, but my brake fluid needed changing, which they did. Felt honest since I came in asking about my brake pads but they didn't jump on changing those, which would have been more expensive. They had my car ready in 30 minutes. No complaints, and I'd come back here if I was out this way again. read more

Took my car for an oil change and suspected that I had brake problems. The shop led me to believe that my brakes where okay and charged me close to $300 for unnecessary work. When I left the shop, my brake pads from one of my tires fell off. I contacted the manager and he has the audacity to tell me that they are not required to inform me that my brakes where bad. In my years of driving, I have never heard a mechanic tell me such crap. These people are con artists pretending to be mechanics. I would have had a serious accident and it was only due to the grace of God that myself or a family member were not harmed by their incompetence of jiffy lube. Worst experience ever and my advise to anyone is to never go to this jiffy lube location for the sake of your life and livelihood. Gave 1 star but the truth is that they deserve -40 stars for rotten service. read more

We had the BEST experience ever at this Jiffy Lube. My daughter had an oil change at college (5 hours away) and she drove home for a visit. Her car kept dying once at home and we realized her oil had leaked out all over the driveway. She had to return to college on Sunday and it was a Saturday. We bought oil ourselves and filled her car. This Jiffy lube was one of the only places that would see her on a Saturday. The manager himself took care of her car and fixed what was wrong (the previous place had put it back together incorrectly) and cleaned it up (it was a MESS with oil on the inside) and topped off her oil for NOTHING!! NO CHARGE! Who does this anymore today??? I will definitely be going back! read more

Got an oil change, was told it would cost $99 for synthetic oil. When they were done, the price came out to $120. When I mentioned they originally said $99 I was told it's because my truck takes 6 quarts of oil. This is very deceptive. A $99 oil change should be a $99 oil change. I've never had anyone else do anything like this when getting work done on my car . I'm a business owner myself. It wound be a bad business practice for me to tell my customers one price, then when they're ready to pay charge them a higher price. I had a misunderstanding on my part, I called and made a complaint, I don't believe I was rude or anything of the sort, if anything confused. I don't want to go into exact details of this circumstance because I'd hate for it to become a trend to get free work done. But nonetheless Len, worked on my car and explained to me and showed me even in my manual what my car needed. I was honestly completely embarrassed and I felt really bad and I had full intention of paying for the work because initially I was told I would be taken care of, but once realizing I was the one in the wrong, I was going to pay. Len insisted it was on them and I felt leaving this review could be the least I could do to bring in more clients for these guys. Service is phenomenal, patient, and all around very nice. So if you guys need some work done, go to this specific Jiffy Lube, I highly doubt you'll regret it, especially with it being under new manager by again, Len. read more

Extremely dissatisfied. This location charges $16 more for the same premium SS oil change as the Jiffy Lube in North Bethesda (Nicholson Lane) and the service manager also pre-loaded an additional $100 fuel injection cleaning service that I had to ask them to remove. The day after my oil change, I realize something is dragging under my car... it's the under carriage access panel that was removed to perform the oil change. Livid only begins to describe how I feel about my experience with this location. I'm a fan of Jiffy Lube brand, but will not be trusting any of my cars to this location again. This place becoming my favorite location for oil change and service. The mechanic meeting you outside in person showing you the way to the waiting room. The waiting room is very nice with big Tv, Wifi, coffee machine and charging station for your phone. The stuff is very nice polite and smiling non stop. They also had a very nice discount for Veterans Day I love it ( every one got the discount even if you not a veteran). It was very pleasant experience and professional attitude and very quick. A sect of course for the part where they attempt to try to get you to spend way more than you need to my asking you if you would like new filters when shall I for blades and things like that when you know that they are good which tells you they didn't even look Tire rotation in oil change. They said give them about 20 minutes and I should be out of there 45 minutes later I think I was done not the fastest but at least faster than a dealership They pulled out my cabin filter and ripped it. When I said something about it they said it happens. In my head i thought if they asked me if I wanted to do it before the yanked it out it would have ripped. Now that I've been driving around I realize I have to pull the filter out again because they installed it incorrectly making a loud noise. They took several commercial vehicles ahead of us normal customers. The wait was well over an hour and there were only the commercial vehicles which they pulled ahead. I normally despise coming to any Jiffy Lube like DESPISE simply because the men or boys that work at every single location gawk and harass women like that is their ACTUAL job but today luckily I was in and out, kind of. I went in for a signature oil change and somehow racked up a bill with some filter changes and they tried some other tactics to sell me on multiple other things they said I needed but I declined. The guy who actually served me was very kind, thankfully. I could tell all the technicians were all goofing around and joking as soon as I got out of the car but the guy who helped me out was polite and professional. He even opened the door for me. The location is pretty clean, they offer you water and coffee and they have a vending machine for snacks. I came at a perfect time because I didn't have anyone ahead of me. I wish all Jiffy Lube experiences were like this minus the bill. read more

Don't go. This place pushed me to do more services. I asked for an oil change. He said I need to do another 3 services totally more than 400 dollars. I insisted on only an oil change. He said in that case I "have to" do a engine flush because I drove 8k miles (3k over the suggested 5k miles) for 5 mins... Dude, I used synthetic oil and my car screen showed oil life still 5%! Somehow they destroyed the alignment, unbalanced the wheels, and lost the wheel lock. Their mistakes have now cost me $100 to fix. I don't have any major issues with the service. The techs were all very nice, and service was done promptly. The only complaint I have is that the employees touched my car with oily gloves, and that left finger prints on the exterior and interior. It was not a big deal to me, but for other customers who may be more picky about their cars, this could be a big deal. I would recommend the techs change gloves when they touch the cars read more

I've brought my Prius here a couple of times. Decent experiences, nothing unexpected until the most recent visit. They convinced me to do a 100,000 maintenance on my car, and towards the end of the service, they couldn't get my car to restart. I waited for almost two hours while they inspected my car from top to bottom, read the manual, and even called the local Toyota dealership. The shift manager, store manager, and eventually the regional manager got involved, comped my entire service, and offered to have it towed to the dealership for a full inspection (and service), which they also offered to pay for if the reason ended up being their fault. The dealership found that when Jiffy Lube cleaned some parts as part of their 100,000 mile maintenance, some dirt got moved around and clogged a sensor. The dealership said that in their defense, they did a decent job, but it was ultimately Jiffy Lube's fault. We called Jiffy Lube the next day and they cut us a check to reimburse us, no hassling or hesitation. It was a rough experience to go through because my car was basically dead to me, but the Gaithersburg Jiffy Lube staff did everything to do right by us, and for that, I'll be going back. read more

Horrible Oil Change Experience: Went into Gaithersburg, MD Jiffy Lube on Sunday afternoon. Big Mistake - First, I noticed that EVERYONE in front of me was being pushed to replace various filters etc. When it came my time to review what needed to be done, I too was told that I need to replace both my Air Filter as well as my Cabin Air Filter. To be fair, both WERE dirty... However, there is no requirement that I succumb to their hard sell. They are obviously heavily bonused by upselling filter changes. If they had taken a simple NO for an answer, then I would have no problem (other than being annoyed at their pushy service). However, when I walked out with the rep to look at the filters and told him I would do the work next time (effectively putting them off), one of the other mechanics parrots OUT LOUD, FOR ALL TO HEAR "NEXT TIME, NEXT TIME, NEXT TIME"... Seriously unbelievable. If that were the worst that happened (IT'S NOT), then I would be giving them a 2 versus a 1.... When I went home I noticed a little black knob on floor of the passenger side of the car. I wondered what that was, until I started to replace the cabin filter the following day. I opened the glove box to gain access the cabin air filter. The glove box door just flopped open. JIFFY LUBE HAD NOT RE-ATTACHED THE glove box retaining arm.. This was absolutely on purpose... Absolutely unacceptable. Absolutely damaged my glove box (makes noise now). I have no idea how much it will cost to fix. I will NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE, AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER. I have never had a garage do anything like that. Please stay away. read more

Staff was rude from the start. I left with more issues than I came in with. I went in for an oil change, and was told I needed a new filter and that I had two lights out (lights were not out prior to coming in). Since I knew my lights were fine, I told them I would skip on the lights. Sure enough, when I pulled out, my third brake light and one of my tag lights were out. As of November, I was at this location 2 years ago and got a new battery put into my vehicle along with an oil change. Come 2 days ago, I went to turn on my car and it wouldn't turn over. Called AAA and, through a comedy of errors, ended up having to get a new battery put in. I found out from the AAA Tech that the battery that was put in my car from Jiffy Lube 21 months ago was not the correct battery for my vehicle, and while there was still charge in the battery, could have caused damage to my car. After getting the new battery (about 5:10 pm), I called up to the location and went in to speak to the manager. I didn't yell or get upset, just explained the situation to Christian, the new manager. He was upset, photocopied all the paperwork I had, took a picture of the battery that was now sitting in the front seat on the floor of my car, and left with the assurance that he would be in touch with me by Saturday. He was so upset by the situation, he must have gotten on the phone as soon as I walked out of the location. I got a call at 8:15 pm. Christian apologized at least 5 times for calling so late, and assured me that they were going to refund me for the battery. He told me his schedule and asked me if/when I could drop the battery that had been in my car off, as well as apologizing AGAIN for the problem in the first place and asked me to give them another chance for service. Top Notch Customer Service! Good as Gold and superb attitude considering that it was 21 months later! I approve highly and can't recommend this place enough... Thank You, Christian!
