Summer 2021 update: The mechanic Will who I worked with at this shop has since left and I understand all the other mechanics did as well. Will works now out of Jacob's Autorama in downtown Rockville. Still highly recommend working with him. Really fantastic customer service and work at this shop. I was referred here to Will because I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and he's an expert with these vehicles. I brought it in with an engine tapping thinking it needed a rebuild--had taken it to a Jeep dealership service center that quoted me $8K for an engine replacement. Will quickly figured out the problem--no charge for the diagnostic--and determined it did not need a rebuild. He took care of it quickly and was really communicative in the process. He also noticed that the starter I had to havereplaced at the dealership was wrong for these old Jeeps and replaced it free of charge. Who does that? Highly recommend! read more

Took my car in for an alternator change, and now my car shakes. When we called to see if someone could look at the car again because it was not shaking before we took the car in. They said they would look at it but charge AGAIN. Although they were able to get to the alternator quick, they clearly didn't check the car afterwards. Honest, reasonable prices, and helpful. JD & Will always explain what's going on with my car, give me options, and make sure I've got a safe car to drive! I won't take my car to anyone else. I feel like they treat me the same way they would if it was their own grandma who needed the repair. Also, they'll take care of out of the ordinary things like new rocker panel covers over severe rust - I ordered the parts and paid them labor to do the kind of complicated installation. read more

Well I have been getting gas at this station for over 30 years. I recently had a slow leak in my tire which necessitated a bit of air until I could get it fixed. I was abruptly and rudely turned away by the service manager . Suffice to say I will never buy gas there again. This used to be a neighborhood service station with friendly helpful staff. Now they are rude and arrogant. They will not get any more business from me read more

Dropped my car for MD State Inspection. Failed the inspection and asked to replace parts which were in perfect condition. Paid $500 to replace for nothing. Inspector at the station admitted after looking at the replaced part that he made mistake but wont do anything to compensate. Worst service. Worst experience. Not recommended at all read more

I went to get a oil change today at Goshen Sunoco, I arrived at 7:45 am spoke to the owner who told me that they don't open until 8. This was fine as I knew I was the first one there. I was asked what I needed done, I told him just a oil change. At 8:10 the owner who was talking to his employee's about everything but work still had not asked for my information or the key to my car. At this time I asked him if he really wanted to do my oil change. He said why and I told him he had even started the paperwork yet. He responds with oh and just looked at me. I then proceeded to tell him how unprofessional he was. He again responds with oh, no I am sorry we will get right on it or anything. I told him I will never return there again and he could not have cared less. read more

Had the car n for spark plugs change and oil change today and my wife's car a few days ago for a tire change. Service is very professional, everyone is very friendly and the prices are great. We now a this great service station in our area and I would recommend it to everyone. I promise you won't find a better place to get your car taken care of. read more

I called in asking for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace a wheel bearing. The service manager gave me a general estimate and asked me to bring the car in. A few hours later, after I dropped off my car, they called me saying they confirmed that the wheel bearing was bad. They also mentioned it might cost more than the estimate if after they removed the bearing and they found the hub damaged. The next day they called me and said the hub was not damaged and the total cost was as they had estimated. They did exactly what I asked them to do and at a reasonable price. read more

Today I was treated rudely at this station. I had previously purchased a spare tank of LP gas from them. When I attempted to use it yesterday, the handle came off without opening the valve rendering it useless. The tank was still full. When I went to exchange it, I was told it was to old and would have to pay $22.00 to get a new one. I explained to the manager that I felt it unfair that I would have to repay for something that was defective. At this point, he raised his voice at me and said it didn't matter that I thought it unfair and refused to exchange it. I guess customer service is not his strong suit. Needless to say, I won't be returning there for any automotive needs either. read more

I first visited Goshen Sunoco when I was told by another mechanic that there was a crack in my exhaust manifold. I talked to JD, the manager of the shop, and explained to him the issue, and he had his mechanic walk out with me to check out the car. The mechanic wow-ed me with his amicable demeanor. He said hello to the customers BY NAME that were out pumping gas, and they said hello, smiled and waved in return. I knew right off the bat that this mechanic cared about his customers. When he looked at my car, he proved to me that he was very knowledgeable about cars. He asked me if my car made more noise when I pressed on the gas, and I said I thought so. I went to get in my car to rev it up, but he said, "no need, I got this," and he reached his hand back under the hood and pressed the lever (or whatever it is that the gas pedal is connected to) to rev it up. I have plenty of friends and family back home that know a lot about cars, but I have never seen them rev up a car without getting in the drivers seat and press on the gas pedal!! JD and his team at Goshen Sunoco really go above and beyond for their customers. They gave me a discount for paying in cash, they fixed my car much sooner than anticipated, and they answered my questions politely and efficiently. About a week later after my exhaust manifold/catalytic converter replaced, my engine overheated. I took it back to Sunoco, and they let me sit outside and watch my car for about half an hour to diagnose what was wrong with it. We found the radiator was leaking out of the seams. The mechanic gave me tips as to how I can still drive my car without replacing it and not letting it overheat, but I told him I have a long road trip next month by myself, and I want my car to get me there safely. He then said that replacing it would be my best option, and he fixed it that day within a few hours! About another week passed, and my check engine light came on. After visiting an advanced autoparts for a free diagnosis, I took it back to a mechanic that had replaced an ignition coil about a month before. Long story short, I had terrible customer service at that place, and I took my car to JD and his team. They again allowed me to look under the hood with them, and they explained the problem. They said I should take it back and demand the other mechanic fix it for free because it's under warranty according to the laws of Montgomery County. I further explained my bad customer service from the other mechanic, and said I would rather not go back. The mechanic replaced the malfunctioning (new) ignition coil free of charge! JD himself left to go up to the parts store so that it could be done THEN! They took such good care of me, and I am very grateful. They also asked me to come back a few days before my road trip so they can look at my tires, fluid levels, etc free of charge to guarantee my car is good for the long trek. This little shop off the side of Goshen is, hands down, the best car shop I've ever gotten service at. Great customer service, and they legitimately care about how you feel about your car. They are also willing to tell you more about cars and the way they work if you ask questions :) read more

Brought vehicle in for inspection. Picked it up at night. Failed to notice damage done to rear panel. It wasnt there when I went in as I have been fixing the vehicle for my son and all cosmetic issues had been addressed. Scrapped paint as would get from scrapping a garage door column. There was no paint on the car suggesting it was hit. They said their columns showed no sign of paint. Station denied it was there fault. On drive home, not 5 miles after it was inspected and passed the transmission line connection failed and all fluids drained. Have to wonder if they actually looked at car. Tough to believe the lines failed so suddenly after I complained about them damaging my car. Would never recommend these to anyone. read more
