Met up with a friend after work for a couple drinks…read more We always try to find a place neither of us have been, and also a half way point between her and I. We ordered our drinks from the bar. I wanted to order some food, but that was at another window. My cocktail was called peaches and dreams. Very nice, not too sweet drink. I ended up having it twice. We also got a strawberry Jell-O shot too. Which was really good. Would totally get 2 of those next time. I ordered crab rangoon's, but they looked different from what you would normally get at a Chinese restaurant. Just shaped differently. Flavor was great. Their dipping sauce was good too. I think there was 5, and we shared. They do play music, on a high tech jukebox, so you get to pick and choose the songs. Some people have a very different idea of music. But, then someone else plays something like zombie by the cranberries, so it balances out. Great night catching up with my friend. They do have a patio. I didn't see it, but I know there is one. And they allow dogs on the patio too. Parking lot is smallish to medium, and they have street parking, and I don't believe it is a paid street parking. It's just a side street.

Overall: 2.8/5 [dine in]…read more We came here after dinner with friends and while the drinks were not great, it was a chill spot to hang out. Peaches and Dreams ($10): Sweet and fruity with a lot of sugar. You could not taste the alcohol at all. Raspberry Mule ($10.31): Tasted like a THC drink which was not what we were going for. Mezcal Negroni ($11.34): Strong but did not taste good. Prairie Watermelon ($9.27): A sour beer that was actually not bad and the best of the four.

With that being said, comparatively speaking, this place actually does better with what they have than expected. Yeah, its a pretty standard sports bar, but they have some interesting food items and a pretty killer beer list. We went with the onion rings which was the highlight of the meal. They were perfectly sized and crunchy! Great call! I went with the Irish Potato which was basically a giant baked potato topped with Shepard's pie. I am not a big shepard's pie kind of guy, but I thought it added quite a bit to the potato so I was happy with my pick! My buddy got the fish and chips. There was only one fish and he said it wasn't particularly warm. That was a bummer along with it taking forever to get service here. With that being said, the place was decently packed so our server was likely doing the best she could. The Domain seems to be one of those weird places where they can get overwhelmed really fast. Jack and Gingers seems to be able to keep their heads above water, even if some things get shaky. I would come back! Why not? Drinks were good, food was fine, sports? I am happy!

I placed my lunch order using the QR code, but in the future I would probably go inside to order, as it felt like multiple steps. My son and I ordered burgers -- he got his with fries and I got mine with tots -- and my daughter ordered the hot honey turkey biscuit. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but what I will say is that the burger I ordered is literally one of the best burgers I have ever had. It had the right amount of savory, sweet, and crunchiness, along with the juiciness of the burger patty. I don't live in that area, but the next time I'm nearby, I would go there just to get that burger!

There are pickle ball courts available and a small playground and 2 yard games for kids. You order from your QR code at the table which makes the service quicker. The drinks and food came out quickly. I had the quesadillas which were really good and a big portion size. The grilled veggies in the quesadilla added so much flavor than your plain Jane quesadilla. There is a wide array of food options so even the pickiest eater can find something. This is a great hangout spot for large groups to unwind!

Possibly North Austin's friendliest dive bar, Buddy's Place mixes traditional bar entertainment…read morewith good drinks and a fun atmosphere. Getting to Buddy's is easy as they have a designated parking area out back. Once parked you're greeted by their patio area where there is a door for entry into the main bar. They are dog friendly, a very big plus considering most don't allow dogs at all. The bar itself is a bit divey with a domino and pool tables setup in the main area. The patrons are all very welcoming as are the workers, it definitely gives you a warm feeling to be there. We ordered 3 mixed drinks, which were all solid and the total came out to $18. Can't beat that price up north. One of the biggest highlights was the live music in the back. They have live music consistently throughout the week so you can always catch a performance. It is very easy to pass time in this bar between the music, games, and just good company overall. We didn't have a neighborhood bar yet but this place might just be the answer to that (a lot of that has to do with how comfortable the patrons and workers make you feel).
