Went over the weekend and I can't rave enough of this place. The place has a great, comforting, friendly vibe which makes you feel right at home. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is fantastic and efficient. The drinks are magical....and I'm a beer person. I wasn't sure what to drink and they made me a cocktail based on my preferencea. It was so good that I had 3. This has got to be one of the best hidden gems!! The best gin I've ever had. Tasty cocktails that had you wanting to kick back and hang out with the bartenders Julie & Eymi - who were the funniest! Professionals at the top of their craft. Food is INCREDIBLE! Never heard of a Bobotie, but decided to try it and was SO impressed!! Who knew food could taste this good? They also have food options which you order at the main truck and pick up at the back food truck. You can also do a tasting and play some games. It is kid and dog friendly I saw many. They have tables high and low, heat lamps and a few outdoor fireplaces to sit, eat, drink and chillax. There's also a coffee truck next to them but closes early (2or3pm). As both a fan of and maker of craft cocktails, just had to check out the Swell Lounge at Jettywave Distillery. I had the Offshore Sunrise, followed by the Sea Hugger. My husband had a few glasses of the Harbormaster's Old Fashioned. All cocktails were delicious. The outdoor sitting area with fire pits and games was pretty cool. We didn't eat there, but there were dishes going by us that looked and smelled AMAZING. Would likely have given 5 stars were it not for the $14 cost of all the drinks (although I guess at least it's not the $18-$20 you'd pay in Vegas or Hawaii). I guess it's hard to take those prices though when I can make my own craft cocktails for much less. That said, we paid nearly this amount at other spots in this area that were sad, watered down versions of the amazing creations at this distillery. It is worth checking out. read more

We had wine (La Honda Pinot Noir) and the two Mediterranean appetizers offered which were delicious ($14 for spreads/dips and $17 for marinated beets, mushrooms, cheese, olives, and more). It's a relaxed atmosphere, dog friendly, with adequate number of heat lamps/fire pits, and friendly staff. Will definitely go back soon to try the wide variety of specialty drinks and soup (red pepper today). As an aside, the pizza is no longer served. As I sip my delicious, tart cocktail, the Offshore Sunrise, with the Pixies softly playing in the background, I sink happily into my chair with the fire pit blazing beside me and think, "Hell yes! We have finally found our HMB hangout!" With visions of a weekend adventure and continuing our quest to find our HMB staples, my boyfriend and I hopped on our bikes and glided down the bike path from our place near Dunes Beach down the scenic trail towards the Harbor and our destination. We were definitely ready for drinks + bites! And we were not disappointed. The Jettywave Distillery is a most welcome addition to our coastal neighborhood. It has all the things you'd hope to have in a local watering hole: -Tasty cocktails with pure, fresh ingredients. Favorites so far: the Jetty Wave- clean + perfect martini with just the right mix of gin + vodka; the Harbor Master's Old Fashioned-a rich classic beverage with a modern twist; and the Offshore Sunrise-fruity and fresh with hints of lemon and bubbles from the fizzy water=total perfection. We also tried one of their tapas: the Mezze Platter, which came with marinated beats, goat cheese, nuts, and arugula, paired with olives, roasted veggies, and fresh pita bread. We can't wait to try their other small plates, which looked delicious. The whole vibe of the place is chill coastal cool: fire pits, bocce ball, plenty of outdoor seating and a long table inside for larger parties. A couple weeks ago, June 7th, I hosted a corporate event for some of my company's senior leadership at Jettywave Distillery and could not be more pleased with how everything turned out! My colleagues and I had booked Jettywave a few weeks prior, sight unseen, as we had a very short timeline to make this event happen. The first time I was able to view the property in-person was on the Monday prior to the event and was very delighted to see that the property appeared just as clean and beautiful as it had in all of the pictures I'd seen on their site and online. The space was actually a bit bigger than I thought it would be and very comfortably accommodated our 43 attendees. I had concern that it might be cold as the forecast had the evenings in the 50s, but the plethora of outdoor fire places and heaters kept everything super warm; they even had blankets handy for anyone that needed an extra layer. Kimberlee, their awesome Head of Operations, was our main point of contact for planning and she was always quick to respond to our questions, thoughtful in her responses, and thorough in her planning. She was also there in-person on the floor during our event and ensured everything flowed smoothly and seamlessly from start to finish. Blake, their friendly Head of Distillation, was also onsite during our event and made himself available to discuss the intricacies of spirits production, chat with our guests, and take questions during tasting sessions. And the fantastic Chef Jose Louis and his assistant Marcello cooked us what myself and many on my team consider to be the best meal we had during our four day stay in Half Moon Bay. They even made up a plate of food special for our shuttle bus driver brought it out to him, which was so considerate and sweet; I know our driver was very thankful for it. Additionally, Eymi, who was wonderful assisting with our event all around, and David and Nicole, who worked hard to get delicious drinks out to our guests quickly, were excellent too. Everyone on my team felt well-taken care of throughout the entirety of the evening and many of the veteran staff told me that it was one of the most outstanding team outings they'd ever been on. All of this context is to say, to anyone who might be reading this, I cannot recommend Jettywave Distillery and their staff enough. From planning to execution, the team here are some of the most excellent folks I've had the pleasure to work with. I will certainly be utilizing them again for any future events I have in Half Moon Bay, will be referring them to other teams at my company for their own event needs in the area, and be recommending them to friends and colleagues alike, whether for private events or just to have a casual dinner and drinks. P.S.: For anyone planning events, I highly recommend taking them up on their Smores package. It made everyone feel like they were in summer camp and was a big winner around the team! read more

This is my favorite place on the coast! From the cocktails, particularly the Oaxaca Sour, to the entire menu from Gibraltar Gems, it's a big win! In a city full of 3 star options, Jettywave is the standout! It's got good outdoor vibes with the fire pits and the live music. The fact that it's also an active distillery is super cool! All the bartenders are super friendly, and the bussers are always on top of things, leaving plenty of room at the table for more drinks! Fantastic cocktails in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. Soft opening was 1/22/21, so for now, you can only drink outdoors. Drinks are made in a trailer onsite and are served in takeout cups and jars. We stopped by yesterday and they were serving over a dozen different cocktails ($14 each) and two shots ($6 each). I don't know if they make custom drinks because the offerings were so appealing, we just went with those. We tried an Old Fashioned, a Margarita, and a Moscow Mule. All were delicious and the staff were very nice and super organized, especially considering they just opened. The outdoor area has tables, fire pits, heat lamps, and some really beautiful landscaping. There is an indoor area that I'm sure they will open up whenever the COVID regulations relax. Jettywave already has a bunch of cute swag including gaiters, T-shirts, jackets, beanies, and mugs. If you're hungry, the fabulous Panificio wood fired pizza is on site. What an amazing place! We had our first visit there recently and loved everything. The distillery itself has a wonderful design and inside seating. The patio has many tables, fire pits, lovely plantings and welcomes well behaved dogs and children. You order your drinks and food at one trailer. Then you pick up your food at the other trailer, Gibraltar Gems. Chef Luis prepares the food and there are delicious choices for everyone. The drinks were wonderful, too. This place is at Princeton by the Sea harbor in Half Moon Bay. Parking is easy. Go, sip and eat, sit in the lovely sea air and relax! read more

The food option was a plate that had a vegan component like hummus but you couldn't just get the vegan component a la cart so we just drank. There was also a pizza oven but it wasn't in use. Dog friendly Firepits and heaters placed around the outdoor area.. Nice place to hang out and have drinks.. I left not knowing what they distilled. The 1st thing I have to say is serendipity. We were looking on the Internet to see if this distillery was open for tasting and it said no they're open Friday and Saturday and Sunday. We happened to be there on a Thursday. But it turned out that it was local's night and once a month they open for the locals and have cocktails and food from a food truck that is next to the property. I parked and headed in to see if it was open to the public that day. And it was. We had an incredibly special visit for our 1st time in this location. We were intrigued by their history and their quality product and how it all came to be. We were immediately introduced introduced to Anthony.. There were no tours that day but Anthony is the distiller and he was glad to share his knowledge with us. Hes very serious and has a great sense of humor and loves talking about his craft and he is obviously very competent to be in the position that he is in. He, without question knows his stuff. After that meeting we were introduced to several people where we were shown and explained how the process went which basically turned into a tour we thought that was sort of funny. And then the ladies that work the bar. They know the product inside and out and are willing to share their knowledge with you but they have such a great sense of humor that's so inviting that they should want to stay and hear more and enjoy the product and do a little shopping. The ladies that were working at the bar that we ran into were Lucy, Kim, and Nicole. We laughed a lot with their stories but their knowledge level was superior. They knew their product they could articulate its subtle tones and tastes and spices and how it reacts with your tongue and certain different areas to give you different flavors. They know their product and they articulated well. I've been to other places in this area on other visits but I have to say that if I lived in this area this would be my go to place and I would bring my friends here because it was fun.. They also had live music. Who does that? who does that? I mean they're takin' care of the locals with live music, and a special night just for them, I want to move here. They are also totally dog friendly. I could talk about the subtleties of each of their line of vodka and what I tasted in my palate. The thing about it is the same as with wine each person's palate is different so some people will taste some parts of it and others will taste the other parts of it and not necessarily all of it. I'm one of those rare people that taste both sides of the spectrum and get the complete experience. And that's what I recommend you do is go there for your own complete experience . Though we didn't have anything to eat the food that was being served looked delicious and judging from the herbs that they have grown in the garden they might be using those in some of their recipes. They use those same herbs also in their small batches of Vodka and Gin and Moonshine. We couldn't leave without loading up on a 3 pack of my favorites of the day. I'm sure that when the gin is released I will return I will return. I heard that it's going to be next month. I see an activity in my horizon. Where do we even begin... Jose Luis deserves a Michelin Star! We live in Sonoma County and visit HMB at least twice every year. The Jettywave is the best kept secret, we look forward to partaking every chance we get. This weekend we celebrated our 5 year anniversary and literally ate at the Jettywave all three nights. I should preface that I'm a vegetarian, and sort of picky, but this food is the BEST I have ever had! The staff is honestly the most welcoming and genuinely kind people we have ever encountered. They treated us to an unexpected and complimentary dinner for our anniversary that was absolutely divine. If you live in the area, well, you are fortunate. If you're visiting, this is a MUST stop! We've been long time fans of Jettywave, and it's a must visit location every time we're in halfmoon bay. The sitting area and fire pits make for an amazing environment to relax, enjoy absolutely unreal cocktails, and eat creative and delicious food. It's also very family friendly, and we regularly take our kids who play their boardgames and have one of their creative non-alcoholic beverages. For my wife's birthday this year, we worked with Kim to set up a private party on a Saturday afternoon for about 20 people and it could not have possibly gone better. Kim was incredibly helpful when it came to the process and the different offerings that Jettywave can provide. We ended up getting the charcuterie board, dips spreads, and antipasto for the group. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food for everyone. We also hosted an open bar for the group, and Jettywave makes the process extremely easy by providing tokens to the party for the drinks which was made it feel a little more special than it wouldve otherwise. And the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly the whole time we were there, making great drink suggestions and accommodations when needed. I highly recommend Jettywave for both regular hang outs and private parties to anyone that loves a relaxing and fun ambiance, really tasty drinks, and great food! read more

Let's start with the great chill vibe boosted by a comfy outdoor patio setting, some tables with their own gas fireplace pits, local live music at times, bar games to use for free, and a strong local scene feel. We spotted Jettywave on our way to dinner and decided we needed to pop-in for a quick taste. We were all delighted with the experience - the staff were engaged, informative, and generous. We did the Setwave double pour tasting, and before we began, our bartender explained the history, each of the tastes we would experience, and gave us the one we didn't pick for the tasting as a baseline comparison. She was quick to share cocktail ideas and how we might further enjoy the goods. At the end of our tasting, she offered us some mixers to try and experiment with various flavors, which really encouraged us to imagine having this in our home bar. We leaned into our tasting of moonshines, bourbon, vodka, and gin. My favorites were the Honey Moonshine, California Botanical Gin (CBG), and the CBG Barrel Aged. We ended up buying the CBG because it was the favorite of all of us! I'm not a big drinker and I really prefer cocktails to straight liquor, but the CBG really impressed me with the juniper and cardamom and other herbal flavors. We chose it because it made for a fun edition to cocktails as well as straight-up drink. We'll be working this into our cocktail menus and can't wait to go back and see what inspires us next time. I would personally skip the bar drinks and go straight for the tasting menu which was a better value and super fun experience! read more
