This is a great place for drinks, food, and chill vibes. There's indoor and outdoor seating, a bar inside and outside, and the kitchen is outside. Parking can be a bit of a struggle. I imagine during the warmer months, this place is more packed. Tastings are only available inside. We got the spirit tasting and the absinth drip. I love their spirit tastings. You can choose up to 6 from their list of gin, vodka, whiskey, and absinth. We tried both gins, the aged vodka, honey moonshine, small batch bourbon, and single malt bourbon. We enjoyed it all. One of the staff is really knowledgeable about the distilling process. It was really cool to listen and learn. If you like licorice, the absinth drip is tasty and refreshing. We also ordered the CA Gold Rush, which was also very good! For food, we got items from their specials menu: pozole verde & mushroom and ricotta crostini. Both were delicious! The pozole is not too authentic, but it still tastes great. It was worth the drive up from SJ to check this place out. We went home with a bottle of their honey moonshine! read more

This place was just up the way from where we were staying. It's a great hangout spot, but wow was it expensive. My wife had the Julia's Vegan Salad and she really enjoyed it...but it was small! Two drinks and the salad ran us close to $60. I doubt we'd ever go back based on cost alone. They have lots of heat lamps and it's a chill place to sit back and relax. We just can't justify the $$$ for what we got. read more

This was a fun and unique experience. The ambiance was clean, hip and comfortable. We went here right after eating, when we got there we realized they have a small menu that looked pretty good. We didn't get any food since we were full. We tasted 2 vodkas, 2 gins & 2 bourbon. I'm not a big drinker of spirits, I do like the occasional gin martini. I went in there with the intent to taste the gin. I loved their classic botanical gin and ended up purchasing a bottle. I highly recommended this place on your next Half Moon Bay trip. I'm just love Jettywave. All of their drinks are so good and unique, the atmosphere is great, and when it's a nice day on the coast that's the only place I want to be. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming! I love their Swell Lounge, it's such a cute outdoor pop up and they tend to have drinks not made inside. Short story: lots of options for great food and drinks, food truck style, but stylish and quality. Longer story: Half Moon Bay, the close escape for the Bay Area seeking beach vibes and good food. The horrific traffic getting here is a pretty good filter, as is the massive wait times at the standards like Sam's. We came out looking for some fun at the beach, and it turns out everyone else was, too. By the time we'd crawled up and over the 92, made it past the frustration of people turning in and out of the nurseries, Lemo's Farm, and the iron sculpture place, our patience was frazzled. The parking spots were as packed as the beach, and we gave ourselves up for cooked. Making a wrong turn (frustrated by the endless flow of north-bound PCH), we stumbled upon Jetty Wave. Like an oasis of relaxation in the stress, we found nearby parking not too difficult and went in. We were surrounded by options, especially the vegetarians among us! Along with Jetty Wave itself there were several food trucks that offered amazing options. Getting an order in was FAST, and multiple kitchens made the service snappy. I had a cauliflower steak with incredible seasoning, while tasting the green peppercorn pork tenderloin. Incredible flavor and perfectly done. Woweee, this place is a gem! My boyfriend and I had an hour free before our dinner reservations nearby. I am so glad we stopped by this distillery. We both ordered the Marine Layer and were VERY pleased. The staff was friendly and helpful and we found a lot of different places to sit. We loved the atmosphere, earlier they had live music and were pretty crowded. We were happy to come when it was quieter. We came an hour before closing and saw how things were nicely winding down for this popular destination. We came by for drinks after a walk along the bay and it was a very comfortable outdoor spot. They have an indoor bar too for tastings of their own distillery products but we just tried a couple of their cocktails. Pretty good and interesting flavors! Ambience was very nice where it felt like a chill food hall near the ocean. Lots of heated lamps to provide comfort. But what was the most important was the food quality. For a tiny little kitchen they were able to make a big impact with flavor. Super tasty with fresh savory flavors. All of our plates were nice and juicy, nothing dry. Much like a beer garden, Jettywave offers delicious libations in a cozy outdoor setting. There is an inside area, but it is small in comparison with the outside seating bringing the appeal. Cocktails are pricey, but they are craft made with quality ingredients you can taste and see in their presentation. There is no wait staff, but the line for cocktails moves fast. I have yet to drink a cocktail I didn't like from this place. They do serve food, but I cannot speak to the menu or dishes because we've only ever had some drinks here. But it looks and smells delicious. Remember to dress in layers and head on out to this gem in HMB. There is music and some great people watching on weekends, not to mention dog watching and petting too. We enjoy ourselves ever time we come. read more

A cute little distillery serving up interesting moonshines and various liquors. This place, like most places in the HMB area, is definitely a visit just for its cuteness but they also serve up some interesting cocktails. We got the spirits flight, which was a great starter as they're thimble shots, so you're not going to get hammered. The flavored moonshines, especially the shiso one, were delicious but the plain ones like their vodka and gin were just okay. That being said, the botanical gin in the Marine Layer cocktail was absolutely delicious, so YMMV. We only stopped here for a little bit before our dinner rez but it was a delightful stop over. Shout out to the airstream bar as well as Nicole for being fun at the main bar (and even willing to take our photos!). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area! --- sweet: friendly service, delicious cocktails, and GAMES bitter: some liquors "just okay", but maybe I'm just not sophisticated enough to appreciate small batch :D read more

Came here for a basset hound meetup. Overall super accommodating and super dog friendly! They had dog treats so ready and did photos of all our bassets. We were in a corner that was spacious and close to all the places to order food and drinks, yet still far enough from other patrons. As for food, I got the salmon, s'mores cookie, cookies, and two cocktails. The staff were all friendly and overall loved the food presentation. They also cleared up plates/cups super quickly which was great so I didn't have to worry about any of the dogs trying to jump up to sneak a lick. read more

We ordered the entire menu, sin one item -- and boy were we local foodie San Frans pleasantly surprised. I threw a Welcome Party / Rehearsal Dinner at Jetty Wave for 45 people. The location was great and working with Kimberly, the manager, was wonderful. She held my hand through all the planning and multiple emails a week leading up to the big event. The food, as always, was delicious, and the cocktails were sparkling. We met the owner of this place over at Johnson Pier and decided to check it out! And I am so glad we did!! I had the pork tenderloin, and let me say, I've never eaten such good pork in my life!! I am not bluffing LOL. It was super tender and juicy, and the sauce paired perfect with it. The mashed potatoes under it were the perfect combo of sweet and spicy with some coleslaw to add some texture. Solid 11/10. I also had a drink: the boogie board! I am not really a drinker, so having solid non-alcoholic drinks is a big selling point for me. And this was really good!! It's like a virgin moscow mule with other great stuff added in it! Lastly, the environment is beautiful! You're still close enough to the bay for a slight view, but the place is awesome with all the decor and flowers. Parking is pretty easy to access with side streets and a mini lot behind the restaurant too. Overall, this place is great and I'll definitely stop by next time I'm in the area! read more

Such a fun and relaxing place! We stopped by Jettywave Distillery on a Sunday, while waiting for out table to be ready for lunch. The decor here is incredibly charming, with plenty of outdoor seating, live music, and a few fire pits. Everyone seems so happy and it's also a great place to bring your dog. I ordered the Paddle the Volga cocktail (their twist on the Moscow Mule) and it was absolutely delicious, as were my friends' Old Fashioned and Humpback Migration. Jettywave makes the best gin I've ever tasted. I attended a tour of the distillery on a sunny Friday afternoon last week and was thoroughly impressed by every aspect. The head distiller, Blake, took us through the step-by-step process of creating several of their most popular spirits. It was a large group of about 10 people, asking all sorts of questions and needless to say we all learned a lot! All this while the lovely manager, Kimberlee, hooked it up with tastings of the varieties we were learning about. 10/10 I would recommend the tour to everyone. It's no surprise that their California Botanical Gin is award winning, and I think I like the new Barrel Aged variant even more! As a whiskey guy myself, their small-batch bourbon was also excellent. Shoutout to Julia, one of the bartenders, who mixed me up two fantastic cocktails (CA Gold Rush & Harbormaster's Old Fashioned). Finally, I can't skip over how good the food was. I got the Panang Chicken Curry and it was SO delicious. From my own experience and reading other reviews, I need to get back there to try the whole menu because it's that good. They have creative non-alcoholic options too, so even if you're not a drinker I recommend going to try the food. Found this new distillery / awesome new hangout in Half Moon Bay! Delicious adult libations from fresh pressed juices from local farmers and fun old school games to boot. So yummy and loved the atmosphere! And their attention to decor, customer experience and marketing details makes me so happy, just delightful - notice the maverick-waves drink tags and how they even painted the red connect four chips to match their decor?! We were only able to try two drinks because we dropped by after a boozy lunch at moss beach distillery but seriously wish we came here first and we can't wait to come back to try more drinks and snacks! Loved how creative and fresh the drinks were! Adults libations can be healthy too right? :). The drinks aren't cheap but very high quality and worth the price. It's competitively priced with others and hey it's expensive to run a business in the Bay Area! I'd say the quality, attention to detail and atmosphere make it all worthwhile. It was super busy but the vibe is relaxed, friendly and welcoming. We couldn't always tell who the servers were but everyone, from customers to staff, were having a good time and enjoying themselves. They had a bunch of seating areas setup that worked for big groups and small intimate exchanges - it was a very thoughtful use of space. The venue is beautifully decorated with creative touches throughout - they even had their own swag setup anticipating the loyalty they will have ahead. I'm already a huge fan and can't wait to bring my friends, family and coworkers here! They are super dog friendly and there's plenty of street parking all around. They've also set up bike racks for folks who want to bike here and will have a shower for folks who want to canoe here. How awesome is that?! After a afternoon of tackling waves and playing futbol with my friends at a nearby beach to escape the incoming heat wave I remember a new bar/lounge I saw the last time i was in the area. After delegating we stopped in! No designated parking that I was made aware of we park on the street and approach a adorable picket archway. To the side of the entrance was the game called cornhole. Almost 90 percent of the establishment is outside. Two bars exist and open tabs are transferable between them so no need to swap back and forth. Both bars offer something different. The main bar acts just like that, a main bar. Beer on tap, cocktails available and then bar food as well as a small menu of real food options. I ordered food, as I was very hungry and saw an option that piqued my interest. South African Beef Curry! It has an actual name but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. They gave me a ticket to give to the food hut. I'm calling it a food hut! The food hut in directly in front of the main bar. I handed my ticket to the gentleman in the hut and he gave me a small timer. In this time I decided to check out what the other bar was about. JACKPOT! Cocktail dreams!!! So I narrow my options to 3... flipped a coin and landed on a version of the Moscow Mule called Paddle the Volga! Made it instantly upon ordering and boy, it hit the fricken spot baby! It was stronger than I'm used to Mules being but soon after returning to my seat. My butt started to vibrate! FOOOOOD! I quickly left my drink in my companions care to grab my food with no complications and began to act beastly while sipping and slurping my orders. It wasn't until later when using the bathroom I saw they have a slew of activities to play so next time will stay longer and order more and I promise there will be a next time! read more

A friend had insisted we stop by and raved about their drinks, so I was more than happy to oblige. It was already dark and a bit cold out, but there were a few open tables near heaters that we had our pick from. Other than one bartender who seemed to be having an off night, the staff were friendly and attentive. I left my phone on the table for a few minutes to save my spot while I ordered a drink, and the staff took my phone to the bar to make sure no one stole it. They kindly returned it as soon as I asked if someone had taken it, and I was impressed by their willingness to help. As for the drinks, I tried the Offshore Sunrise and Blind Date -- both were delicious, strong, and boldly flavored. I do feel like the serving sizes were a bit small, but for $14 I can't really complain. It's far out of my way, but I am eager to go back again! Cool space for sitting outside by a fire with a cocktail. I got the California Gold Rush, a bourbon cocktail with bitters. Tasted nice but little taste of bourbon and small drink for $18. My wife and her daughter got hot toddies which were not on the menu but we had here before when they were delicous (4 years ago). But this time, they were subpar, they tasted very watered down with no taste at all . $62 for the bill was too much for cocktails with little alcohol in them. read more
