Our local Jet's has become my go-to when we're craving pizza, and IMO it kicks the pants off Domino's, Little Caesars, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut.
The Detroit-style is where it's at. Depending on how many people we're feeding, I'll usually grab a 4 Corner or step up to the 8 Corner, and that crispy, caramelized cheese around the edges never disappoints. Add the Turbo Crust and it gets even better; buttery, garlicky, seasoned, and packed with flavor. They also have a ton of specialty pizzas, so there's plenty to work through when you want something beyond the usual pepperoni.
Sometimes we'll go all-in and add the breadsticks and one of their cookie or brownie skillets for dessert. Probably unnecessary after crushing a Detroit-style pizza? Absolutely. Do I regret it? Rarely.
What really keeps us coming back is the consistency. Our orders are always super fresh, piping hot, generously topped, and full of flavor. The staff has also been consistently friendly and works quickly, so picking up an order is usually painless even when they're busy.
It's primarily a pizza joint, so you're obviously not coming here for fancy ambiance, but the place is always comfortable and has that straightforward neighborhood pizza-shop feel.
For chain pizza, Jet's is in a different league for me. Give me an 8 Corner with Turbo Crust, some crispy cheese edges, and a brownie skillet over the other big chains any day. read more
