Right across from the Arcada Theatre you'll find Riverside Pizza & Pub. With a pub & a pizza parlor type of atmosphere at their St Charles location it's a great place to go. Their stuffed crust pizza is unlike any other type of deep dish, so cheesy & delish! I also had their arancini, it is some of the best I have ever had, stuffed with cheese & spinach it will leave you wanting more! Their Cesar salad is so good as well, you can get a big one to share and it's more than enough. Their pasta & other appetizers are all great too. All of their locations have been a great experience. Service at each location is different, most being spectacular with a couple times I've had a not so friendly waitress. Otherwise service is quick & attentive, and very good. This is a great location, across from the Theatre if you have concert or just wanna walk around downtown St. Charles, there's a lot in this area. This is the cutest little log cabinish restaurant. Pizza is delicious as are the Arty chips. Drink the best ole' fashion served on a homemade macrame coaster and enjoy small town family vibe. Monthly pizza flavors range from BLT to crab ration. No stuffy, plain pizzas here, unless that is what floats your boat. My husband and I stick to sausage, mushroom, onion and enjoy it every time. Grabbed dinner here after a full day of class for school. Very laid back, great staff! We grabbed a seat at the bar on arrival because the place was packed. We were able to order food and have our meal there without issues. Fun spot close to the river. Laid back atmosphere, accommodates the customers, and serves great food. We did the antipasto and riverside salads, both got a thumbs up. Then split a pizza with sausage on one side (apparently this area is known for their sausage), and garlic/mushroom/spinach/tomato on the other. I decided to pop into Riverside Pizza and Pub before the Arcada Jon Anderson of YES concert. Upon entering the pub, I was told to sit wherever I was comfortable. The place was almost empty so, I took a seat. I decided upon the thin 10" deluxe with the addition of green olives and a coke with ice. The pizza arrived piping hot. It did not disappoint. The bartender was as attentive as she could be as within the time I sat, ordered and got served, the place filled up. I recommend this establishment. I will, after seeing pictures posted of the salads and burgers try them in return visits to the Arcada. Thank you Riverside for a very nice experience. read more

We had a very enjoyable meal at Riverside Pizza and Pub located on Main Street in Saint Charles Illinois. The service was excellent. The ambience was charming with brick and mortar exposed walls. Three of the meals were very good. We enjoyed an appetizer of Sriracha Shrimp, Penne Pasta with Sun-dried Tomatoes, Chicken Bruschetta Sandwich with Fries, and Chicken Bruschetta Salad. The meals were served hot and served in large portions, enough for a second meal to take home. We also ordered a Margarita Pizza which was disappointing. We expected fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil, and instead the pizza appeared to be made of canned stewed tomatoes with regular mozzarella cheese. We had the experience of a very good pizza in the past so perhaps our choice just wasn't in season. Overall a very good experience, and we would return in the future. read more

We didn't know there'd be a high school parade - but we were stuck cause we had parked in the middle of it all. Sudden accidental happiness. I wish I remembered the name of the person helping us - she was awesome. Manager / server? And she knew the parade that we were stuck in, that made it all more enjoyable. Wouldn't know how the food is. Never got there. Has to be the absolute dumbest group of workers I've ever seen. My girlfriend and I arrive at the upstairs bar around 6:45 on Friday night. It's busy but not ridiculous. There's 3 empty bar seats at the end. There's stuff left over from the previous patron.. no biggie. We walk up, say hi. Bartender says "hi guys, I'll get that stuff off the bar for you." We say "okay, great, no rush." After a few minutes she takes our order, we put in drinks and food. We wait, and wait, and wait. 15 mins goes by. She still hasn't taken the old dishes / check / etc. off the bar. She's taking tons of other orders to different tables. Her and the other bartender are back there talking. The whole time they both look confused about literally everything. Just no clue what's going on. We're trying to get her attention to say uhhh hey, can you at least bring our waters? Clear the bar off like you said you would? Anything?? She continually walks right past us. Nada. Finally, we get up and put our coats on. This absolutely lost broad looks at us and says "oh, are you guys moving!?" Us: "yeah to a different restaurant." Planned a semi-private 30th birthday party upstairs. 1) They will only reserve tables for you - still public seating around you. $20 per person to reserve table and get pizza, salad, soft drinks. When we arrived, no tables said reserved - they had room/chairs for 20 people. We reserved for 27. They scrambled to get more tables chairs. While they did that we had to turn away other diners from taking the tables we had since they weren't marked as reserved for us. 2) Didn't have a designated server for our large party. I asked manager Shelby - she said we had one girl. Problem is - this girl was also behind bar and waiting on other tables. Couldn't get drinks all night. They missed out - 27 people - 25-30 years old - lots of alcohol sales they missed. 3). Ordered cheese, sausage, and pepperoni pizza. They delivered 8 pizzas. Only half were what we ordered. I don't know who decided to order everything on it pizzas but wasn't us. 4) Space - the tables they set up for us were so close together we couldn't walk around or talk to each other. The pizza/salad was on a separate table and you couldn't get to it because there was no space to walk down an aisle. 5). Charged us wrong. They charged for 30 people instead of 27. Had to argue and get it changed. 6). Deposit - charged us $100 ahead of time for deposit. Didn't deduct from bill. Waitress said it doesn't go towards food. Argued that as well - finally changed bill. I made manager aware that we were unhappy with space, waitress availability etc. She just shrugged. Couldn't care less. We go to Riverside in S Elgin weekly - have a waiter Sage there who is awesome but they don't have room for large party like this so we tried STC location. Will never go back here. read more

Fantastic night at Riverside Went with a group of 8 co workers on a Tuesday night and they accommodated our party perfectly. Wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks were great starters, all of them tasting super crisp. Their deep dish pizza didn't disappoint, and chicken Parmesan pasta was delicious too. Truth be told, we wanted to give this place a 3.5 but that's not an option so we were closer to 4 stars. We did really enjoy it here and honestly, we find a lot of gems at 3.5stars. The bartender was awesome! Super friendly and attentive, with great recommendations. We went with three that she mentioned. The jalapeño poppers, which were pretty average but good and their ranch is amazing. The tortilla soup was top notch! Tastes like Coopers Hawk, which is my fave, and they said it was made IN HOUSE!! I had the Bruschetta Salad, which was really good. They should include some type of garlic toast for the leftover bruschetta because there's a lot! My boyfriend had the wings and they were amazing! I love Riverside, they have probably my favorite pizza. However I will never again return to this location. My friends and I went here for the half price pizza deal since I was home for just a day and was craving some pizza. We got there around 7:30 and ordered at 7:45 ish. Our food which was a large 2 topping pizza and some appetizers didn't arrive until 8:50. Our server forgot to punch in the order and then didn't punch it in until 8:30. For the inconvenience they offered us 3 dollars off our tab. Which if it hadn't been over an hr wait would've been enough. But after some arguing they management comped the pizza for us. It is hard to find staff these days but I have never seen such questionable staff. Our server cared more about flirting with the girls at the bar then serving our table. So I recommend spending your money at one of their other locations! read more
