Bolognese spaghetti

My party of 14 came on New Year's Day, not too many restaurants were open, I appreciated the people who gave up their holiday. All the appetizers were on point, the dynamo shrimp, lettuce wraps, white corn guac & chips, avocado club rolls. We ordered a mix of pizzas for the table, Margherita pizza, mushroom pizza, cacio pepe pizza, Thai chicken pizza. The Thai chicken pizza was not good, the Margherita pizza was too oily, rest were delicious. The Thai crunch salad, California cobb salad were both delicious. The shrimp scampi and bolognese spaghetti was satisfying. For dessert, the butter cakes, some plain, some with ice cream, and the mini cakes excluding the bacon hit the spot. Diego provided the right amount of attentiveness.

Amazing and delicious taste. We are in absolute love for this place. The service great and they explain everything clearly. The ambience inside is very good. The place is loud, bright and feel cozy. There is parking available right in that mall where the restaurant is located. This place is a family friendly and business casual. We can dine and carry out too. I don't think they have any outdoor seating in this particular location. This is a must try!

We had such a nice lunch here with the fam! I got the shrimp fettuccine and it was amazing -- creamy, flavorful, and packed with juicy shrimp and mushrooms. Total comfort food. Service was great too -- everyone was super friendly and we didn't have to wait long at all, even though it was pretty busy. The whole vibe was chill and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back family meal. We even treated ourselves to dessert -- and yep, totally worth it. We'll definitely be coming back!

We eat here a lot and always enjoy it! I got my favorite dish, Chicken Piccata! Our server was Diego and he did wonderful! Brought refills when needed and carried away dishes when done. Love the California decor surf boards and Chicago pictures they have as decor! It's always clean and welcoming!

California Pizza Kitchen used to be one of my favorite places to eat. We were in the area today and stopped in for an early lunch. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy. Our server was pleasant and explained the changes since we had last dined there. We both ordered my favorite BBQ chopped chicken salad. This salad used to be freshly tossed with ranch and had a nice BBQ drizzle on top. Today, I couldn't really tell if it was tossed or mashed. It was not crisp as usual. It tasted as if the tortilla chips had been soaked prior to serving. The chicken was also mashed with the BBQ sauce. Definitely not a fan today. I ordered a strawberry mocktail that was quite tasty! We asked our server for boxes and said we were "all set." 20 minutes passed, and she never reappeared. We had to stop the manager and ask for boxes and our check - she took it from there. I'm not sure how our server got lost as she only had two tables. I was fairly disappointed overall with both the food and service. Would not recommend a return visit anytime soon.

Why not leave the one open by our table. This reduced airflow and the ambiance. It got hotter not cooler.

Rude! We've been coming here for years during all seasons and have never been treated like we were today. We sat outside on a 73/75 degree day with a breeze. At about 4:20 they started putting the shades down. I asked them not to put the one down by our table. We were the only ones outside. A lady walks out to us 5 min later to tell me she is the general manager and this is the time they put the shades down. With a lot of attitude: even my kids said wow!! 1. Who was it hurting? 2. What happened to the customer being important? 3. Why so rude? I wasn't, I just asked if they could keep ours up. Our food was coming out so we were done by 5. Put them down then. 4. Never seen this GM; but I appreciate her abusing her title. I should have said I'm the paying customer and the only one out here on a nice day enjoying outdoor dining. We like CPK but it will be awhile before we return . Disappointed in today's visit.

Me and the boyfriend went Xmas shopping at Geneva Commons and wanted something yummy, fast and reasonably priced. We ordered from here because neither one of us have ever ate here. We weren't disappointed! We got the Margherita pizza- it was amazing!! (My boyfriend loves thin crust). We will definitely be coming back!!

To go food without a bag...Glad I didn't lose the balance of the sauce!

Firstly, anyone saying the food doesn't taste good or they leave hungry is smokin crack ..... also,…read moresounds like you probably would of enjoyed a buffet instead. This place is incredible... the food is to die for. It's the first place I've been to and did not feel like bloated or so full to where I was sick because the portions were perfect. Nothing here fell short, in fact it's the first place in the burbs where the food wasn't overly salted or fried in some type of oil. Everything tasted fresh. The flavors were busting up in my mouth every bite I took, even down to snowball fight drink we had. I highly, highly recommend the bread cheese appetizer- this was something super unique to me as I've only had grilled up cheese one other time in Brazil, Queijo Coalho.... There was a beautiful twist on this cheese- crunchy, creamy, sweet, savory and the honey and tabbouleh were such a great finish to this dish. Pair this with the fresh bread and it was chefs kiss! We had the beer braised short rib and seabass- two completely different flavored entres that we absolutely perfect. The short rib you literally can't go wrong with- melted in my mouth with every bite - and hats off the the chef who cooked the onions so perfect to actually be able to taste them instead of just carmelizing or salting them! I would call this your typical Midwest comfort dish. The seabass was much different the salad was tangy with the lentils being rich- add a nice cooked crispy top seabass and you got yourself a unique dish of flavors that will have you thinking what's in it after hours! But the star of the show was dessert of course - OMFG - s'mores ice cream sunday ....... I died and went to heaven literally. I have never tasted ice cream that mimicked everything I've ever wanted my ice cream to taste like. It was the perfect temperature (trust me a lot of restaurants it's either rock hard or melted) this was epic. Creamy, almost pudding like and being able to taste every note was wild to me. The graham cracker - yes the freaking graham cracker was the best one I've ever tasted in my life. Clearly I've never had a graham cracker without preservatives before. The chocolate syrup .... Jeeze let me tell if I could swim in it I would.... The service was friendly, prompt and right on time. The server knew all the cues and timing of all the food to come out. She checked in everytime we got something to make sure everything was just right... you can tell she takes her job seriously but also knows how to interact with people - something a lot of servers lack these days so we really appreciated the service. As for the atmosphere- this place blows a lot of the chi city restaurants out of the water. The organic feel but fancy! Oh, and I can actually talk and hear myself think without blasting music over my head. We will be back ... but honestly please change nothing here- everything you're doing here is fantastic!

Service is VERY slow. Whether by design or intent, I cannot determine but if you're hungry, don't come here or you will be excruciatingly hangry. Understand that this is not a high table turnover environment. The dinner rush is not exactly witnessed here. Ive never seen a grill line have such a lack of sense of urgency but it quickly made sense as I recognized it had been 35 minutes since an order was put in. Aside from that also understood the food was absolutely amazing, is it worth the wait? Yes if you understand the length of time it may take to get it. Come here not needing to eat immediately and enjoy the ambiance, the drinks, be in the moment, and let the food be an afterthought. I will most certainly be back.

Our server was Val who was so delightful and engaging. We started with a delightful walleye ceviche on a blue corn chip for the amuse bouche. Perfect bite. The four of us shared the steamed Prince Edward Island mussels and the artisan charcuterie board as starters. The muscles were a generous portion and the broth was so flavorful. I always love Atwater's charcuterie board. It's has a generous portion of Humboldt Fog cheese, which is one of my favorite cheeses. For dinner, I opted for the roasted butternut bisque and caramelized apple & kale salad. The bisque was smooth and silky and the salad bright, crisp and fresh. Hubby had the blackened swordfish and loved it. My friends had the pork and lamb chop entrées. They really enjoyed their food. I've had the lamb chops before and they're excellent. The food at Atwater's is full of flavor, beautifully presented and delicious. Our server Val surprised us with a little taste of olive oil ice cream for a sweet treat to end the meal. I was so happy that my friends loved this restaurant as much as we do. If you haven't dined at Atwater's, you're missing out on a tasty hidden gem.
