Delicious dill on a croissant, pasta salad, strawberry lemonade. Oh pickle spear and a butterscotch cookie

What a refreshing place to have a chicken salad sandwich, ya'll there are so many different ways to make a chicken salad! This is the right place for a quick bite and reasonably priced. There is watermelon tea, strawberry lemonade, strawberry tea and more. The sides are great from soup to pasta salad and fruit cups. I wish there was a chicken salad chick in my home town

I just had to stop by yesterday to try this place out on the day they opened. By the time I got there close to 5:00 p.m. there was no line. They have menus sitting around that you can look at before you get to the counter which I found handy. I misunderstood one item though and thought that they had a little sampler plate for $6.99 because it named the different kinds of salads with the word "and" in there, not "or". But that's okay. I got the two scoop plate for just under $10 and tried the plain chicken salad and the one with boiled eggs in it. The plain was pretty bland but otherwise good with plenty of white meat and not overwhelmed with mayonnaise. The other one had a better flavor I thought but that's because it had more ingredients including pickle and boiled eggs but I couldn't actually taste any onion in it unless maybe I got mixed up and that wasn't the one with onion. I opted to get the scoops without being in a sandwich but I saw some platters with the chicken salad on croissant and they looked pretty good. I ordered a cookie but evidently the young man didn't understand me so I didn't get charged for it nor did I receive it. The platter does come with a tiny little cookie on the side and it was delicious. I know a pickle spear isn't very important but I have to say it was good quality and not some cheap slimy thing and I enjoyed having it on the side. They gave me a ton of crackers which I really appreciated. There was enough chicken salad that I probably took 3/4 of a scoop home and ate it later for dinner. The place was immaculately clean and there was a girl who was right on the spot as soon as anyone got up to leave she was right there cleaning the table getting it ready for the next person. I just got water as my drink but I got a little sample of the watermelon tea and it was delicious so I might get that next time. There are three other places in town I know of that have delicious chicken salad for probably less money but this one was definitely good. It's located in the same shopping center as Randy's shoes and near where the Furr's cafeteria used to be if you're an old timer.

Decided to give it a go and we are glad we did! Pulled in for lunch and the place was hoppin'! Long line, all local plates...always a good sign! We had a brisket sandwich and the brisket meat plate, sweet tea, and lemonade. Everything was delicious and the sauces were wonderful. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of seating and an open inviting atmosphere. If we lived in the area, this would definitely be a go-to spot!

I am very much supportive person for small business owners. So, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The only A+ I could give here was good fast service. Let's talk about the most important component of Tyler's BBQ. All of the brisket and sausage was dry and VERY salty. The only saving grace was the BBQ sauce. ( I had to drink a lot of tea and water. ) The potato salad I would give 3.5/5 - decent, but memorable. The coleslaw was decent but meh 3.5/5. There were customers there, but mostly loyalists who are used to the food. It wasn't packed at all. Ambiance/Decor With all the accolades on the wall and even on the door "unless we are sold out," I was hopeful that the food would be better than the decor. It felt like Tyler's was sitting pretty on its laurels and accolades and were riding its own past coattails. The floors were crack. The place was quite dark. Things look like it never even got a coat of paint in a long time. The "rustic country" style needed an update. Now, I hate giving this place a bad review, but someone has to be honest and give constructive criticism. As of newcomer, I wouldn't recommend this place right now. Sorry, Tyler's BBQ- hope you can take constructive criticism and make your place better. Good luck.

A friend sent me the link to it on Facebook because she thought I might be interested and she knew that I like to try out new places. Today I was going to the thrift stores over near Plains and Adams so it seemed a perfect time to go check this place out. It was a little tricky to find because I hadn't been north of Amarillo Boulevard much in my time here but I had an idea of where it was and just when I thought I might have passed it without seeing it, I spotted it. As I walked up to the door someone must have seen me approaching and he held the door open for me which was a nice introduction to the place. He instructed me where to go to order my food. They only had one copy of the menu sitting out so the girl who was already looking at it held it out to share. The guy that held the door open for me had already recommended the Chicken and Waffles and I just decided to get that. It came with a drink. It turned out they actually had Big Red on tap. Unfortunately it was not the zero calorie version but I threw caution to the wind and decided even though it was high caffeine and high calories I would just treat myself. It took quite a while for the chicken to be ready. One of the guys later explained it's because they are required to cook it for 22 minutes to ensure that is cooked inside. Well, it was perfect. It smelled wonderful, it looked wonderful, and it tasted even better. If there was a downside it was only that it was so hot that I had to wait for it to cool off enough to not burn my tongue. You get your choice of what kind of chicken you want and I chose drumsticks. Those drumsticks were fat and juicy with a wonderful coating and was some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. I'll be honest, I'm not a big pancake and waffle fan, although I do like the concept of Chicken and Waffles. But their waffle could turn me around completely. Probably the best waffle I ever had. The Chicken and Waffles was $10.99 including the drink, close to $12 with the tax and worth every penny. I took a couple pictures of the menu to post so others could see the kinds of food they serve. It's billed as a soul food place and it is Southern Cooking but it doesn't have all the dishes you sometimes find in other places like sweet potatoes and collard greens. It does have fried okra and I didn't try it but I bet it's delicious. Next time. I've had fried chicken three or four places in Amarillo and been surprised that more places didn't serve it. This place was definitely the best I'd eaten although there was another place that came in a close second. There is actually a small market along with the cafe and it was bustling the whole time I was there. One of the owners, at least I think he was, said they'd only been open 90 days and business had been beyond their greatest expectations. That made me happy because I love to see small businesses and Mom and Pop places succeed. Everything looked clean and I saw them wiping down tables the instant people got up and left them. That was a good sign. And the employees and owners couldn't have been more welcoming. By the time I left they knew my name and I bet they call me by it the next time I go in. The best way to get return customers besides offering awesome food is to make them feel welcomed and valued so they will want to come back . Oh, and I forgot to mention, to pay back the community for giving them such good business the first 90 days they had a free food day last Saturday which I didn't hear about until I saw the newspaper article about it. They invited all their customers and members of the community to come in and eat a complimentary meal to show their appreciation for the neighborhood support. I don't think I've ever heard of a restaurant that did that before. Bravo!

But if your idea of culinary heaven involves a grease-stained paper liner, an old-school Texas roadhouse vibe, and a burger that requires structural support, you have arrived at the right place. Nestled just a few blocks off Interstate 40 in a historic, diminutive former dance hall moved wholesale from neighboring Claude, Texas, Coyote Bluff is tiny. With only about 12 tables packed into its 1,000 square feet, the atmosphere is alive with a loud, friendly hum, a dirt parking lot, and a vintage bathtub floating full of ice and cold beer bottles. The place is amazing!!!! The unique steaming process is really amazing. You have to try the chili cheese fries to go with it. The menu keeps its focus tight, centering around half-pound patties of lean Texas ground beef cooked to order. While traditional options like the Hickory Burger and the Green Chili Cheese Burger are stellar, the undisputed heavyweight titleholder here is the legendary Burger from Hell. I had to try it, my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak. Many approach the "Hell Burger" with great trepidation, expecting it to be more of a gimmick built strictly on painful, mouth-numbing heat. Instead, it offers a beautifully layered flavor profile. The beef patty with Tabasco and their proprietary "Coyote Hell Sauce," then smothers it in gooey melted cheese, grilled onions, and fresh, vibrant sautéed jalapeños. It arrived on a toasted onion bun, it lands a solid 7 out of 10 on the heat scale. But rather than scorching your palate, it wraps it in a vinegary, spicy, deeply savory warmth. This place also serves up classic, heavy-hitting Texas roadhouse appetizers: Each of these are amazing sides and are worth of mentioning, First the Cheese Fries with Green Chiles, which I had with my burger and my wife had with her Chicken fried steak, it is served on a massive aluminum platter, these fresh-cut fries are heavily blanketed in melted cheese and mild green chiles. They are a mandatory companion to the burgers.  Other appetizers worth of note, are the Texas Red Chili & Green Chili Stew: The thick, hearty green chili stew is packed with meat and mild green peppers, offering a wonderful warming comfort, especially during cool Panhandle days.  and any of the Fried options ranging from baskets of battered fried pickles, garlic mushrooms, and stuffed jalapeños. Because everything is cooked to order and the dining room is incredibly compact, expect a wait during lunch rushes or weekends. However, that time spent waiting in the dirt lot among locals and passing road-trippers is part of the charm. Coyote Bluff Cafe doesn't try to be anything other than a spectacular, small-town Texas burger joint, and it executes that identity flawlessly. This is a MUST Stop in Texas

Nestled amongst the chain restaurants right along I-40 was this gem. It has been there for a number of years and the moment you walk in you get an old west tavern feel. We opted to sit in the bar area after the booths were a bit cramped for my circular shape as this place was built in an era where the tables don't slide! The bar area was open and comfortable. I ordered a happy hour beer and my wife got a margarita. We opted out of any appetizers but I was very tempted to order the house chips. I ordered the hand battered chicken fried steak with cheesy grits and a salad. My wife had the smoked ribeye with roasted corn and a salad. Both were from the lunch menu so the portions were appropriate for the time of day. Our salads were nicely sized, fresh and a perfect companion to the main course. We were served rolls with the salads. By the way my wife cleaned them up I presume they were pretty good! The CFS was tender, well-seasoned and covered in a nicely flavored gravy. It included two slices of buttered white toast as well. Very Texas! The cheesy grits were a nice side as there was just the right amount of cheese to grits ratio. My wife's smoked ribeye looked good but she said it lacked a bit on flavor. She split the roasted corn with me and it was just about perfect. The service was attentive but not intrusive and overall I really liked the vibe. It was lively but not Texas Roadhouse lively. You could have a discussion without yelling. Music level was reasonable. Of course, it might be different packed with patrons on a Friday night. I give this place a strong 7 out of 10. If I'm ever back in Amarillo I'll definitely come back and try a dinner steak and other options. Plus the bar would be a perfect afternoon hang to drink a beer and watch a game on one of their several large TV's.

Saw one couple even immediately be seated though after waiting 20 min with 3 people ahead of us and another group behind. (Happened to know the waitress apparently) Saw one table just up and leave due to being ignored and waiting on ticket to the point they left some cash and up and left in a very bad mood. Got told multiple times a 10-15 min wait due to tables needing cleaned off. There were 4 open tops that were empty throughout restaurant, the whole time and then another 3 opened up while waiting. Then was told 20-30 min wait due to the kitchen being backed up. At that point we just up and left combined with the VIP treatment of people being able to skip ahead of not 1 or 2 but 4 other groups of only 2 to 4 people with at least 5 or 6 open tables. I don't leave reviews often and do for great experiences and bad experiences this was one of the worst. The waitresses were clueless high school or 20 somethings not wanting to actively work and instead argue over whose fault it was a table left or why people would have their name written down and instead would leave due to the treatment of even just being seated, but somehow it's the kitchens fualt. 10/10 do not recommend and don't bother.
