Love that they serve breakfast "family style ". The food was fresh and delicious with real gravy. The hash brown casserole was delicious too. Service was great as well. I feel like my overwhelming takeaway from Butterlove, is that they are expensive. The food is good and the portions aren't small. But compared to what you can get for the same price at other spots in town they are on the pricey side. Something that really irks me is that they have started charging for water in a cup. The last time I went I got water is a reusable plastic cup and I got charged 25 cents for it. I'm just like, "really guys? You're going to charge us for water?" As mentioned, the food is solid and they have decent menu. The ambiance is bright and comfy. The music is the right volume. Something that I find odd is that they have different music in the kitchen than they do in the dinning area. There is a bar set up if you want a drink. They also have several TVs with various shows on. It's a good set up. Ultimately, I'll be back. But I'll also complain again about how expensive it is. read more

The service is friendly (as expected anywhere in TX tbh) and the ambiance is super cute! The decor is modern and the space is very bright. It's a counter service place with lots of seating. The biscuits are so good! I could eat just those with butter and honey. The butter tasted like a high quality one as well. My main issue was the chicken. It wasn't fried crispy enough, so the texture was sort of rubbery. I cook often and I think it was the oil - probably wasn't hot enough. My friend and I ate here this morning and the staff was friendly and welcoming. It is family style, so you choose which protein you want and then everything else comes with it. You get scrambled eggs, homefries, grits, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and French toast casserole. The food was AMAZING! BUT... the eggs they use are powered eggs like you would get at the continental breakfast at a Holiday inn Express. This place is great, we stopped in here on our way through Amarillo during a road trip. The food was really high quality, you could tell it was made from scratch. My husband and I shared the hot honey. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned. The pickles were a nice touch and added more flavor. The hot honey was delicious and had a unique spice to it. The side of bacon was excellent quality, not too fatty and it was thick cut. The only thing we would change is to maybe have the hot honey on the side instead of on top of the whole thing. On my first visit, the food was very good. My only issue is that it was not served hot. Lukewarm to be exact. They were quite busy at the time so that's potentially why it was not served warm. The food was still good enough to warrant a second visit. When I returned I ordered the same dish. Biscuit with gravy, eggs, and sausage patties. This time it was served warm and was very tasty. To drink I ordered one of their Bloody Mary's. I got the one with all the garnishes including bacon. The bacon tasted off to me. I'm not saying it's a food safety issue, but I didn't eat the bacon. If you've ever been to Babe's this is just like that. We went early on Friday night so it wasn't busy at all. The wait staff was friendly and our food arrived quickly. If you've been here before they changed to dinner, you won't see many differences in atmosphere, it's still cozy and cute. My husband had the chicken fried steak and I had smoked chicken. My chicken was a little dry but that tends to happen when smoked. His CFS was very tender and delicious. The sides were very tasty and plentiful. We were so full by the end but I had to have a piece of pie so I got it to go. We needed something like this in Amarillo so I hope they make a go of it. Now we just need to try breakfast! read more

This place is an absolute gem. The food is fresh, homestyle, and absolutely delicious. Part of our family is celiac so we are always on the lookout for good gluten-free food, and Butterlove has the best gluten-free fried chicken I've ever had (including mine, and I don't say that lightly). They also offer gluten-free chicken fried steak and chicken strips - my daughter had the strips and said they were wonderful. Portions are very generous and sides are family-style and unlimited. My husband said the biscuits (not gluten-free, sadly) were defintely scratch-made and delicious. The ambience is great, too - very pretty, clean, and fresh with a cozy diner feel. So many great reviews on this location! Alas this won't be one of them. We went based on reviews mentioning sanitizing between tables and social distancing rules being enforced. Neither were obviously being observed today. The employees were all wearing masks, but it was a total zoo otherwise. It was so loud and crowded, that the screaming babies thrown into the mix were just overkill. I think the script writer is just phoning it in at this point. The food wasn't great. It was more like mediocre at best. You would think a place called Buttermilk Biscuits would be able to do a decent biscuit but err, not so much here. Super cute spot in the middle of America lol! Who knew? Love Route 66 spots. Location is amidst the town. Parking is easy as it's in a large plaza. Service was good they're super nice and love traveling visitors. They have a bar and a TV to catch those important games on your road trip. Plenty of seating. Good for groups. You order at the counter get a number and the food comes to you. Tons of options but not much for pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans are outta luck. My husband and I are visiting from Dallas and really enjoyed this spot. I had the shrimp and grits which had great flavor and a good portion of both shrimp and grits. My husband had the Hissy Fit and added fried chicken. The sauce was a nice smokey, sweet, savory balance. The bacon was great quality and crispy. We arrived today (Saturday 04/19/25) at 12:35 wanting to have a late breakfast. Our waitress told us we could not order breakfast, even as I was showing her on THEIR menu where breakfast is served Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 2 pm. When she told me they were out of breakfast I asked "so you don't really serve breakfast until 2pm, you just serve it until you run out?" Her answer verbatim was "yes sir, on Saturdays, but on Sundays we serve until 2pm" We relented and ordered lunch. While we were eating our very mediocre $75 lunch for three (with only waters to drink) another family came in and sat at a table near us. 20 minutes later they were having BREAKFAST served at their table. When we left we complained to the manager who casually stated "that was just a miscommunication between our kitchen and staff." She asked if we wanted a refund, but we ate their food so I declined the refund. Funny thing is, our waitress that had the "miscommunication" with the kitchen was the same waitress that received and delivered the breakfast order to the table near us. On top of the messed up service, the food was mediocre at best for what averaged out to $25 per person. read more

Butterlove was our favorite meal in Amarillo! It was so hard to decide what to get, everything sounded great. Ultimately I got the honey hush, husband got the hot mess, and we shared the loaded tots, Nashville tots, and cinnamon sugar tots. Biscuit sandwich portions are large. Don't expect to eat the biscuit like a sandwich. Definitely and knife and fork place. The biscuit itself was really soft and fluffy. Chicken was great (they said it is a 5 Oz breast). Tots were all great. Just enough spice on the Nashville tots and the cinnamon sugar tots were a great dessert. Breakfast- never been here before and our waitress didn't explain the whole thing to us. Just said what meat do you want and gave us our choices. (It would be so much better if they had something to give people so they know what is what and prices) My husband got chicken and I bacon. We waited over 30 minutes for our food . When the waitress came to check on us and asked how everything was I told her o couldn't say as we had no food yet. She came back then with a coffee refill and apologized for the delay and asked us if we wanted a piece of pie. We both declined as we were waiting on our food. All our food was brought out but the chicken. Our waitress said as soon as it was done she would get it to us. Bacon was so overcooked it was way beyond crispy, the gravy was cold and the eggs, let's just say they were not appetizing. It took 6 more minutes for the chicken to come out . I thought yeah chicken with a bone will take awhile but no this was chicken tenders that should never take that long. At this point we get a to go box and take some stuff like the waffles as they were good. The price was a sticker shock since you have no menu you don't know $17.95 a person. Wow .... The first time showing up there me an my bf were sitting down waiting the place wasn't packed but the wait was at least 10mins which we didn't have a problem with but when the place is packed with barely room (usually Sundays 10a-12p) the wait is like 15-20 mins & I've also tried the High Heaven pulled pork with pickles it comes with onion rings - but I'd prefer the coleslaw but ask for bbq sauce on the side so you can smother the sandwich it's so goood.biscuit pot pie is also good I mean it's a cup with one biscuit I mean they are a good size but I'd say get 2 for the amount of pot pie (just my preference) read more

Atmosphere: Located in a strip mall it has your typical burger joint, cafe, diner decor. Definitely not all smiles and welcoming, but not to the point of being rude either. 1 Star Food: The biscuits are good and the gravy was great. I ordered the breakfast platter bc I'm actually not a fan of biscuits and got the grits instead. Originally I asked for sausage but changed my mind right after I paid (I was still at the register) and the lady there acted like I was asking for a lot...there was a sign there that said they were short staffed and it was a bit slow but not terrible. The bacon was hard as a rock, the eggs gummy, and the supposed cheesy grits had zero taste. I was disappointed to waste my money here. Another con was the bathroom. It took 4 flushes to flush the toilet and I didn't even go number 2 or use much toilet paper...so awkward. Only good thing about this place was there was a little drink bar for mimosas and the decor/layout of the restaurant was cute. read more

Interesting spot! The line was a little long but it went pretty fast. The employees were super awesome and the food was good. I got the Texas Club. It was good but the biscuit was a way to crumbly for a sando so I had to eat it with a fork. It was still really good though. First off let me warn wary travelers that Amarillo is a cesspool that smells like cow dung and 90% of the locals are maskless morons, so I would avoid this town if you can. If you can't this place is decent if you are fully vaxxed but still filled with idiots wandering all over without masks. We tried two signature biscuits; blueberry and. Neiman Marcus (the latter being like a chocolate chip cookie) and a breakfast bowl to get some protein. The NM biscuit is definitely a dessert biscuit; extremely sweet. Probably even a little too sweet. The blueberry wasn't nearly as sweet and still pretty good. Very heavy, both of them. We saved half for later. The bowl was eggs, cheddar, sausage and onions and quite a large portion; even sharing we didn't finish. It was a little greasy for my taste but I generally eat very little greasy food so it is probably fine for most. All in all, pretty good as a sometimes food, if you are mid road trip be careful because those biscuits may make you want to nap. read more
