Wood fired cheese pizza and ceaser salad
Melanie R.

Absolutely love this place!!! Discovered it about 5 years ago and have been coming back on my trips to Geneva! Staff is always so pleasant and the ambiance is calm and inviting! The food was absolutely amazing! Totally wished they packaged and sold their salad dressings! I would love to have it in my fridge!

Bolognese and martini at the bar

I love sitting at the bar and having a cocktail and pasta. The bolognese is my favorite. Mondays are 1/2 price pizza days and they are buzzing with excitement.

Mini Ricotta Cheesecake
Quin B.

My first time being in Geneva I stopped by Gia Mia for a late Saturday lunch. The restaurant was not crowded at all and I was seated immediately. The inside seemed bright with a relaxed vibe. I ordered the wild mushroom sacchetti which was ready in a snap. The dish was very flavorful and creamy with a fair amount of mushrooms and a generous amount of pasta. I did feel the pasta was a little on the firm side, but other than that, I was happy with everything else. There are 4 mini desserts on the menu where you can choose 1 or all 4 for $3.50/$13. I tried the mini ricotta cheesecake which I found to be ok. My preference is New York style cheesecake all day. My waiter was very helpful with the menu and where to venture out in Geneva. I will be happy to return for their pizza lunch special.

The Bruno, Zucchini Fries, Linguini Carbonara
Lily V.

Our server was Jillian B and she was great! Suggested the zucchini fries which were fresh and crispy. We also got the linguini carbonara and the bruno (pizza). Everything came out quickly and looked appetizing. Jillian was very attentive and checked on us frequently even as the restaurant began to pick up as the dinner rush came in. It is a small space, so you will be close to other tables. I could hear other conversations and had to speak up to hear those I dined with. Despite that, I would love to return for the food!

Had an another amazing dinner Jack went above and beyond in his service for our table he deserves ten stars His suggestion to our table was impeccable Short ribs Chicken piccata Farmer salad Soup wine Pistachio gelato Too bad the manager Kam makes the vibe of this place horrific and he clearly makes everyone including the guests uncomfortable!!!! Would have given 5 stars but the manager Brought it down

Blackened chicken and brussel sprouts salad
Kelly P.

What a find! We went based off of a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Our server Matt was kind and very good! My husband had the lunch special pizza called the Livia and the Italian Farm salad-delish, and all for $13! We shared the meatball al forno (gone before I could even take a picture-simply heavenly!) and I had the blackened chicken salad with brussel sprouts. Wow! The little bits of cranberry and Gorgonzola were excellent counterpoints to a healthy and delicious salad. We will be back, and next time we want to try more of the pizzas. Btw, the restaurant had on a banging 80s Spotify station that we'd love to be made public because we were dancing in our seats!

Tiramisu

Service was great, food was quick. Drinks and desert were unreal. Christopher, our server, was very respectful and provided a great service. Will be back.

Manager was super rude and loud. Kicked my family and I out with a service dog before we could sit down. Manager Cameron said the owner and Kane county health dept stated certified service dogs are not allowed anymore. Inside or outside! I calmly said well can you look a the service card and vest BUT he rudely said call the health department and police if you want. Very embarrassing and after all these years of going 2-3x a week I can not believe ownership allows him to work at this well established restaurant.

Pear Caramelized Onion pizza
Sheilisa D.

First time trying this cute little pizza place. They had amazing wood fired pizza. I ordered the pear caramelized onion pizza and added prosciutto. The crust was so good and I usually do not eat crust. The service could've been better it seemed like our waiter was stretched very thin. He dropped menus and offered water and didn't return to check on us to place our order for over 20 minutes. I would've liked a bit more interaction from the staff because service is important and usually the main reason I choose to return to places. Other than that it was clean & pizza was good.

Are dogs also not allowed on the patio?

Dogs are rarely allowed at Ravinia. Largely NO.

How heated is the patio seating? Good enough to go on a cold day?

We went there when it was pretty cold outside a few weeks ago and the heated patio was warm. They have a nice set up. Fully enclosed and lots of heat.

We were devastated when they took the focaccia starter off the menu, but we were able to request it special for a team dinner this week and it was as incredible as we remembered it. Bring back the focaccia to the full menu! I have a tomato allergy, and they are always very accommodating to make small changes so that I can enjoy my meal safely. Most recently, I had a spinach and pesto chicken pasta that was fantastic. I also enjoy the chicken from the Milanese, thinly cut and fried to absolute perfection. It can be loud in the front of the restaurant, and sometimes the hallway to the bathroom is oddly slippery, but they've always been incredibly accommodating for larger groups when we have them and the bar at the front is really beautiful.

But date night was a success with Beef carpaccio and White Fish with a lil pistachio gelato to finish. Everything was so light and fresh. Absolutely delicious food and great service! The inside has great mood lighting and the decor was chill with a very eclectic theme, from the art hanging and the murals and even vespa installations. I definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the area or just looking for a new place with enjoyable Italian food. They also have a private dining area for large parties! Our server was fantastic. We laughed afterward because we were a little nervous when she didn't write anything down, but she didn't miss a thing. Everything came out exactly as we ordered it. The pizzas were delicious, and a small is definitely plenty for one person. The meatball sliders were SO good -- the flavor was incredible. And the pepper spread? My husband was practically ready to lick the little ramekin clean! He wanted a simple salad rather than one of the specialty salads on the menu, and they were more than happy to customize one for him. Even the ranch dressing was fantastic. It was fine except that there weren't other diners there until we were halfway thru so our server wasn't easy to get hold of. Inside has a couple of big TVs playing football so it's like an Italian pub meets sports bar feel. We shared a Chicken Parmigiana and Caesar Salad. Others in our group ordered the Blackened Salmon Risotto, the bacon-wrapped dates and the meatball sliders. Everything tasted pretty good. The Ceasar Salad was smaller than expected as we were hoping to share a couple of orders, and it had cherry tomatoes and shredded lettuce but was good nonetheless. The vodka pasta that came with the Chicken Parmigiana was a standout- the pasta had a good bite and the sauce was excellent. The salmon risotto was also outstanding. The bacon-wrapped dates was unexpectedly stuffed with sausage, so it was very tasty. We didn't have room for dessert as we were stuffed. We didn't have pizza this time but had it previously and it was good too.

We were seated immediately but it took a while for our waitress (Lauren) to take our drink order. They have a nice selection of wines and beers. We all ordered off their Restaurant Week menu but when my wife mentioned she is Gluten Free ,she was told they could no substitutions because they were too busy. Basically the server had no suggestions. After we all placed our orders,we waited over an hour to get our appetizer and salad. The server kept saying the kitchen was backed up so she gave us a complimentary round of drinks. The appetizer and salad came on the same plate which was strange but the portions are definitely small probably because they were part of the Restaurant Week menu The wrapped shrimp were tasty and the wedge salad was your basic wedge salad. I asked for salt and pepper and again it took a while to get it and the pepper grinder did not work. My wife had the Risotto with shrimp and asparagus and tasted very bland. I had the Wrapped Filet which was small in size and cooked more medium than medium well as I requested . The desserts were the best... Tiramisu and Pistachio Gelato even tho they put cookies on top of the Gelato which have Gluten. The noise level is super loud and the servers and or kitchen seemed overwhelmed. I'm not sure I will go back .
