We were looking forward to our first dining experience at Sorella by Giada for weeks. What a complete and utter disappointment. First, the positives. The space is beautiful and the homemade pasta station is a nice touch. Also, the knife presentation in advance of my filet mignon was a fun surprise. Unfortunately, that's about it. The negatives far outweighed the rest of it. For an upscale restaurant like this, the wine list was abysmal. Only one Chardonnay (La Crema) to pick from? Ridiculous. My husband ordered the scallops and risotto entree for $50. The waiter told him that it only came with two scallops and offered the additional 2 scallop add-on option. Only when the bill came did we realize that those extra 2 scallops were $32. An $82 scallop and risotto dish at a restaurant in a suburban casino?!! Crazy. The fact that it was also gummy? No thanks. Service didn't come close to matching the menu prices. Wait staff was overly casual and inattentive making us feel like this was definitely not a "special occasion" type place. After paying $240 for a skimpy scallop/risotto, 6 oz. filet, side of potatoes, bottle of La Crema, and a disappointing experience, I can confidently state that it is not worth the hype. Ambiance was amazing & so we're the cocktails. The risotto was so hard it could have literally broken my tooth. I was actually appalled because the presentation of the dish was beautiful. We had a fantastic dinner at Sorella last night. We ordered several dishes and shared amongst the table. The lobster ravioli, spaghetti, filet mignon, Caesar salad, bacon wrapped dates, shrimp appetizer, and the scallop risotto were all fantastic. We had a bottle of wine as well. The service was outstanding and Christopher and Tee Jay were on point the whole dinner. We had a lovely dinner here. Large wait staff and kitchen attendants made for quick service. Friendly staff & fun to watch them hand make the pasta. The pasta was very good with light and fresh sauces on all the dishes. Fresh made pasta has a unique al dente structure and they captured it well. We enjoyed the bread service and the cookies for dessert as well. Modern atmosphere and well spaced tables. Just wish we could make a reservation online. Stopped for dinner on our way back from the city--no reservations available online, but hoped we'd be able to get in. While some hosts would make you feel like you've inconvenienced them by not having a resy, this host stand was the opposite. Eliza was gracious and welcoming. We ate at the bar where Courtney took care of us--offering suggestions. Focaccia was ok, arancini had a great crust. Canneloni was delicious. Hazelnut cake was decadent. Lanie the Pepper Fairy was an absolute delight. So good we came back the next night, and our pal Eliza greeted us like we were family!!! Isabella took great care of us in the dining room. We came a few days after opening night. The service was impeccable, like over the top friendly which I enjoyed. Atmosphere was superb. 3 stars for the food. Their signature dish, lemon spaghetti, was very al dente, dense and wasn't very flavorful. The $10 bread service was a disappoint as well. Focaccia bread is meant to be chewy, airy inside with a crunchy crust. Theirs was just hard: either over cooked or old. Almost every table was ordering it, so maybe it was baked the day before. The crab arancini would have been better if the crab meat was fresh and had more risotto. Our friends who recently dined here told me they had the same impression: felt like an overpriced Olive Garden. While Olive Garden can be enjoyable, we didn't think the food justified the fine-dining price point or 4-5 star reputation. read more

The inside decoration and layout are tasteful and impressive for a Casino restaurant, the food on the other hand is very sub par. We were a party of four for a business dinner. We ordered the Calamari ($22), the focaccia bread ($10) and the Bacon wrapped dates ($17) as appetizers. The Calamari is a very small portion, over cooked and flavorless, the bread is rock hard, very dry and tastes like nothing (terrible don't order this) and the bacon wrapped dates on the other hand were exceptional and delicious. ' For the main course, we ordered Tortellini ($30), Cannelloni ($35), Chicken Parmesan ($36) and Salamon ($39). The Tortellini were six pieces total. Yes, they were a little larger than traditional tortellini and arranged in a circle on the plate, but 6 and their use of garlic ruined the dish. The Cannelloni was a decent portion but again lacked flavor and we left most of it there, not worthy to bring back. The chicken Parmesan made us laugh out loud because they boast that it is served "table side"...so what do you get? An over fried piece of hard chicken and another server comes with a very small frying pan and ladles half of its content of tomato sauce and cheese over the overcooked chicken...we actually laughed it was so ridiculous and terrible for what you get (as much as it pains us to write this - places like - dare we write this - Olive Garden Chicken parm is much better and we dont even eat there). The Salmon was served over a bed of rice that was actually tasty, but it was ordered "blackened" and they said they forgot. We ended the evening ordering the Cookies ($14) you get two lemon and two chocolate chip, they are OK, but nothing to write home about. With drinks almost all of them (wine or mixed) were $18 each. The total tab for the four of us with drinks and tip was $370. Our recommendation - go anywhere else. They are overpriced, the food is just OK at best, and their prices are over the top. read more

- Terrible Management the bafflingly poor customer service and management we experienced at Sorelle on a Thursday night completely warranted it. We stopped in around 8:00 PM looking to wrap up our evening with some dessert. Walking in, the restaurant was far from full. They had plenty of open, unreserved tables available, and at least half of the bar area was completely empty. Despite having more than enough capacity to accommodate us, we were told by the staff that we couldn't be seated for dessert. When the manager got involved, the situation didn't get any better. Instead of trying to accommodate paying customers in a half-empty restaurant, the manager was completely rigid and dismissive. Turning away business when you have wide-open tables and an empty bar makes zero operational sense, A restaurant's management sets the tone for the entire establishment, and the management here is failing. Disappointed, I really wanted to like this restaurant however food lacked flavor. Required to give entire order at once however the gap between ala carte salads and entree lingered for 35 minutes. Focaccia was dry, signature dishes were bland. Lemon pasta with shrimp had a bitter taste, chicken parmesan was luke warm and the Pomodoro sauce had little flavor, tart and bland.
