I've been to this restaurant several times, the last being three years ago. Friends chose this place for Christmas Eve so we tried it again. Che Figata is attached to a hotel. It has a large bar area, a curved counter by the chef area and a dining room. We were lucky enough to sit in a curved booth in the dining room. We were greeted right away with water and we're told our server would be with us shortly. However, our server Fernando was gone more than he provided service. The general manager Cherish, though, was fabulous. She came to our table and opened our bottles of wine to breathe as we brought our own. Note, the corkage fee is $25 per bottle. Cherish also gave us attention throughout our meal. I had to ask Fernando for water after he took our bottle to refill and never returned. The staff was so disorganized and upon talking to Cherish learned they were short staffed. The bright spot of our evening, outside of Cherish taking care of us, was some of the delicious food. We started out sharing the burrata & prosciutto pizza and the fritto misto. The pizza was Napoleon style with a thin charred crust and was very good. However, the fritto misto only had one piece of octopus on the plate (darn!), was pretty bland and the garlic aioli was way too thick. For dinner, my husband had the rigatoni zozzana with house sausage, guanciale, tomato, egg yolk, pecorino and parmesan. He loved it. I had the bucatini carbonara. The best carbonara I ever had! It had guanciale, preserved lemon, cheese and an egg yolk on top. Compared to what our friends ordered, our entrees were on the small side. Not consistent in portion size, but damn good. All in all, the food was better than last time, but the disorganized lack of service was pretty bad and took away from our dining experience. Having said that, Cherish's attention was appreciated and she was lively and engaging. I'll go back for that amazing bucatini carbonara.

Wow! Just blown away by the top notch service! My boyfriend and I don't really go out to fancy places like this one, it was more of a special occasion. From beginning to end the service was exceptional, we felt well taken care of and special even though we weren't the only ones there. I forgot if it was the manager or head chef but someone came out to greet us toward the end of our meals and introduced himself and just wished us to have a great time. He connected so well with us I would come back for the attentiveness of the staff alone! Aside from service, the food was great! I had what the waiter had recommended, it was one of their more popular dishes. All the right flavors were there in the meat sauce! The restaurant was well decorated! we had the option of sitting at a booth or table, we got a comfy booth. The lighting was warm, soft and romantic. The music was there but not loud and obnoxious, it fit the mood of the restaurant. It was great! Bathrooms were very clean too! Thank you for helping us have a lovely, quiet evening! :)

We enjoyed some fantastic dishes at Che Figata, which is one of the restaurants Paul used to work at a while back. It's located in Hotel Arista and the space is stunning! The staff made us feel like VIPs from the moment we entered and every bite outdid the next. I think our favorites were the Arrancini & the Rigatoni, but honestly everything was outstanding. Such talented staff, both in the kitchen and FOH

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Che Figata! From the moment we walked in, the service was attentive, warm, and welcoming. Every staff member we interacted with made us feel like valued guests!

It was ok. Its a typical "Italian" restaurant attached to a swanky hotel lobby. Staff were all very nice and the place was pretty and clean. Food was ok- small portions for the price and kind of salty. I didn't hate it but probably wouldn't come back.

Unfortunately restaurant was undergoing renovations and they directed me to the restaurant next door at the hotel (Hotel Arista) but they said the menu was exactly the same. Service was excellent from host to server. Portions are all big sizes (and entree prices) so I wasn't able to order much variety. Burrata and caponata - the cheese was so fresh. Loved it with the bread. It could have used a bit more seasoning in the caponata Che Meatballs - meatballs were tender and flavorful but would have preferred them more hot instead of lukewarm. Affogato - didn't enjoy as much as I wanted. I think the coffee wasn't as strong as I was expecting.

A European flair strikes you the minute you walk in the restaurant and smell the fresh, homemade pasta and wood fired pizza being expertly crafted in an open air kitchen. Our party of 6 shared 2 orders of oven baked fontina cheese with the sweetest cherry tomatoes casually drifting across the top. They served the baked cheese with plenty of grilled bread so you had the perfect amount of both as a great starter. The salads are fresh and big enough for two, and my main course, the buffalo margherita pizza was the best margarita pizza I ever tasted. Although it was a thin crust, there was no lack of flavor with a delicious crunchy crust that was the perfect level of gooeyness in the middle. My only complaint is the service confusion. Our server put the appetizers in wrong and we had to re- order the 2nd cheese plate..There were also some check and drink confusions.

I went to this restaurant for a special event. The catering service was excellent. We were able to view the chefs cook all of the food fresh. A five course meal with desserts was served and every bit of it was delicious. The steak was the best. The steak was tender and tasty. The desserts were extraordinary and would tempt a dieter to abandon their diet. The pesto pizza was amazing. The restaurant was spacious with wonderful decor.

Ask the Community - Che Figata

How is the noise level when restaurant is full at dinner?

I was there prime time on a Saturday night. It is moderately noisy. I could still speak in normal tone & be heard with my group of 5 at the table. But it's not romantically quiet.

Is there anything on the menu without dairy?

I believe they have a number of gluten free, dairy fee options. They post a seasonal menu online you may want to check to ensure they have options you like.

Is this restaurant good for kids?

Yes, we brought our young kids early in the evening and the restaurant was very accomodating. The kids loved the pizza and gelato!

Tonight felt especially memorable and worthy of a proper review. We usually avoid Friday nights because Vai's is almost always packed... and after tonight, it became crystal clear why. Diane and I were craving a standout meal, a little comfort, and a relaxing evening together. What we received was far beyond dinner service. We were treated like valued regulars and genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Pete, who I believe is the manager, recognized us immediately and encouraged us to put our name on the waiting list despite the crowd. I'm grateful he did. While we waited, we sat outside near the fire on a cool evening, which added another layer of warmth and ambiance to an already inviting atmosphere. Within minutes, Pete came outside personally to let us know two seats had opened at the bar. That level of attentiveness matters. As soon as we walked in, Eliot and Mallory greeted us with smiles and authentic positive energy. Not forced. Not transactional. Genuine. They made us feel appreciated simply for being there. Even on one of the busiest nights imaginable, they engaged with guests with the same warmth and attentiveness we've experienced during quieter weekday visits. In the background, Morgan was crafting cocktails with precision while still finding time for a familiar nod that quietly says, "Good to see you again." That kind of hospitality cannot be faked. We ordered our favorite dish, the Lobster & Shrimp Rigatoni and once again it was exceptional. Rich, consistent, perfectly prepared, and easily one of the best dishes in Naperville. Without us even asking, the kitchen thoughtfully split the entrée onto two plates. That small gesture perfectly captures what makes Vai's special... attention to detail seems woven into everything they do. From the fire outside to the flowers inside, from the cocktails to the consistency of the food, Vai's creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming, polished, and sincere all at once. Authenticity and respect seem embedded in the culture there. Tonight was a standout evening for us, and I'm genuinely glad we decided to stay despite the crowd. Pete, Eliot, Mallory, Morgan, and the entire staff - thank you for reminding us what great hospitality looks like. Outstanding indeed.

Service was great! Everyone was friendly and prompt and wanted to make sure we had a great meal. This is what we ordered: * Nonna's Meatballs * Pear & Fennel Salad (walnuts on the side) * Focaccia di Recco (requested with prosciutto & arugula) * Linguine alle vongole I also ordered an Almafi Spritz (zero proof) which was wonderful and bright a slice of Italy to Chicago's suburbia. The food was fresh and delicious. I recalled a Davanti location in Chicago but never had the chance to check it out, so this was my first time and it was great! The atmosphere is chic and the food was excellent, but not in a flashy, overdone, complicated way, just real good, made in house, hearty Italian fare. The Focaccia Di Recco was AMAZING. Yes, all caps. We packed up half of it to take home and it was still great the next day (reheated and then toasted in our mini counter oven/fryer). If you order just one thing here, let it be this focaccia dish. I understand why it's popular and I blurted out loud several times while eating this in restaurant: "on my god" it was truly divine. As my husband said, "this food might be better than what we had in Italy..." and I don't disagree. The kitchen does not do split portions for pasta but they were able to bring out 2 plates for us to split ourselves. This is a great spot for date night, a ladies night out, or a solo wine & dine at the bar. I can't believe I didn't come sooner. Plus, it's located right next to a parking garage which made our night out really convenient! We can't wait to come back! Five shining stars.

I've had some really great arancini before, and these were alright. The sauce was the highlight, with a nice flavor and a slight kick to it. We were told the pizzas were personal-sized, so everyone in our group ordered their own. When they arrived, they were huge. I went with the Fredo, a more traditional-style pizza, and it was pretty solid with good toppings and flavor. Others at the table ordered the Detroit-style pizzas, and they looked incredible, I wish I had taken some photos. The general consensus was that the pizzas were a bit too bready, but they had good flavor, great presentation, and a nice crispy crust. Service was okay. It took a while for our server to take our order, and I wish we had been advised to share a few pizzas instead of ordering individually. We all ended up taking most of our pizzas to go, but with dinners planned throughout the rest of the trip, they unfortunately didn't get eaten later. Overall, a decent spot with solid pizza and generous portions.

Its very hard to find spots that can accommodate our very particular palates, and even more hard to find good vegan options outside of the city. Thats why I was excited to find this lovely Italian restaurant. The parking lot is small but there's a good amount of sidestreet parking. The inside is warm, cozy and super clean (including the restrooms ). The hospitality stood out right away. The owners and wait staff were very welcoming, and our server was fantastic; honest (which I appreciate), knew the menu well, and once she realized our situation, gave us some wonderful direction on what to order. I wouldn't say that the menu is overwhelming, but I rarely go to a restaurant where it takes me that long to decide what I want. There are lots of interesting options, from braised short rib ravioli to baked ziti, and several tasty appetizers (highly recommend the calamari). But we had come for the PIZZA. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza. It was surprisingly bigger than we thought, and at a great price. The kid only ate half before she said, "I like it...this might be better than [insert famous Chicago pizza brand]." (you MUST KNOW that this is high praise from a 3rd grader). My wife ordered the "They Don't Have Beef With Me" vegan Detroit-style pizza, and I have to admit, it was very good. Somehow they pulled off a buttery (but not butter) crust with melty vegan cheese (but NOT cheese ). Absolutely nailed it. I would have eaten more of hers if I hadn't ordered the Butcher pizza from the wood-fired menu. It was OUTSTANDING. Great flavor, perfect texture. Easily one of thee best wood-fired pizzas I've ever had. We're not drinkers, but they do have a good wine list and some nice zero-proof options, including the Amber Apple and The Drip. We didn't make it to dessert, mostly because the portions are generous, so our bellies (and our to-go boxes) were full. We will definitely be back to try other menu options and for dessert. If your family or friend group includes picky palates or dietary restrictions (the pizzas can be made gluten-free as well), then run...don't walk...to Fiammé. 100/10 recommend.
