I decided to try Jet's pizza and I wasn't impressed at all. I think the rating is closer to a 1.5 than 2. The toppings were wafer thin and tasted burnt. My assumption is that because the toppings were so thin that they were burning before the pizza was done. So back in Philadelphia there's a place called Emmy Squared that serves Detroit Style pizza and it's amazing. They happen to have two here but it's in the Charlotte area and they don't deliver to the Concord area where I am. So I found this place. I was reluctant at first. But let me say I'm glad I went with my gut!! I ordered a Four Corner Pizza w/hamburger & pepperoni. AMAZING! It's always light and fluffy but yet crispy as can be. On Sunday, August 11, I called in a carry out order for a BBQ chicken & pineapple pizza. The order was WRONG. I didn't realize it was incorrect until I had gotten home & had eaten a slice. When I called in, I said I wanted an 8 corner BBQ chicken & pineapple pizza. The guy on the phone said: "so you want half BBQ chicken & half pineapple?" That definitely wasn't what I asked for. I repeated: BBQ chicken & pineapple. I understand the concept of multi tasking, but this ain't it. First off, while the pizza had plenty of sauce and toppings, it's mostly bread at the end of the day. The reason I'm giving this one star is because I WAS GIVEN A HAWAIIAN PIZZA AND NOT BBQ CHICKEN & PINEAPPLE. Some may be reading this and you're wondering what the difference is. The distinct difference between the two is that Hawaiian pizza has PORK, while BBQ chicken and pineapple does not. I remember when I was eating the pizza, it tasted a little different/weird, but I was thinking it may be the BBQ sauce. I looked at the pieces of ham, but initially Thought maybe it was the red onions. I decided to pick a couple pieces out & sure enough, it was freaking HAM! I DO NOT EAT PORK. I'm a huge fan of this place, a lot better than most of the chain places in the area I've been used to. I had my first Jet's Pizza a couple of years ago at a work function and really like the deep dish style which is the norm for them, where at other places deep dish is extra or not offered at all. You get a nice, crispy, pan-style crust and an amazing sauce. I've found that sometimes it comes out slightly greasy but not too bad and no more than you should expect with a pan-style, it's borderline fried! Keep in mind that this store is a take-out and delivery location only. Don't come here expecting to sit down and eat. People will probably stare at you if you un-box your pie on the 2-seater bench in the store! Protip: If you don't feel like washing dishes after the meal, just ask for paper plates, utensils, napkins, and even Parmesan and red pepper packets. But let me slow your roll...This pizza is muy delicioso. We ordered a deep dish and two slices of cheese. It took about 15 minutes to get our order, so we walked next door and killed some time. By the time we arrived back, our pizza was ready and waiting for us. This location does not offer dine-in so we took our food to the car. And of course, we took a bite or two or three. Apparently, we're hooked! I'm not sure what took so long for us to try Jet's. We found another pizzeria not far from where we lived that served up the slices like we are used to back home in New Jersey so we just stayed with them. But one day I guess I didn't feel like driving to the other pizzeria and Jet's is next door and they deliver. So we decided to try it. I got notification from Door Dash that it was on its way, and I watched the driver on a live map come to my building. I then got notification that the pizza was delivered. Well today, I decided to get a pizza from Jets b/c I was craving pizza and who isn't tired of cooking at this point b/c of the pandemic. Due to Covid 19 regulations, Jets now offers curbside delivery service in lieu of walking into the establishment. I notified them I was here to pick up my order and I waited in my car to have my pizzas brought out to me. The gentlemen who delivered my food WASNT wearing a mask or gloves. I asked why he wasn't wearing a mask while dealing with food and people. He stated, they aren't required to wear mask and gloves. I asked, are y'all wearing gloves while preparing food...he stated, No. I was stunned considering the current climate we are currently in regards to Covid 19. I was wearing my mask just to pick up my food...I couldn't imagine dealing with the public w/o it..but that was his decision. So, the real kicker of everything is as he's communicating the such he begins to scratch his groin area, like that was ok (on so many levels...GROSS). At that very moment, I asked for a refund and returned my food. I shared the information to the supervisor on duty and he was unfazed as if there wasnt even a problem. I was completely taken back...I mean come on, we are dealing Coronavirus where cleanliness and sanitation as to up kept for the safety of the employees and customers. Welp...no biggie to them. From this experience, it seems to me sanitation is not a priority to the staff member and supervisor (just from their responses to my inquiries). Sooooo with this said, avoid this Jet's location at all cost...to be clear not b/c the pizza isn't good but the ppl working there are not practicing the proper food handling while working with food. With or without Covid 19, this location needs to be shut down until they are taught proper food handling and sanitation b/c this ain't it! read more
