Cheese Pizza by the Slice
Roicia B.

This place is the BEST quick grab and go! I love this pizza it gives NYC vibes and the crisp thin texture of the bread, cheese and sauce is all you need! After this one slice though, you'll wish you had just bought the whole pie! But be careful because it might not fit in your car depending on how big it is!

Cheryl M.

The crust is crispy, the slices and pies are massive and the sauce is good. They're friendly and have great customer service. It's casual and there's seating inside and outside. The only downside is they don't offer a lot of toppings in their pies.

Stopped in for a slice today with a friend. I ordered a pepperoni slice it was ok the pepperonis were not cooked enough for me. My friend ordered a slice of mushroom, sausage and pepperoni he said it was good.

Pizza slices were so great we had to go back and get a whole pie! Service was great, the restaurant was chill and clean.

These pizzas are HUUUUUGGEEE!! Pricey but worth it due to the size. The pizza could have been saucier. Slightly dry. My husband likes his pizza to have a little crunch but this pizza was soft. They deliver.

so I was in town for a thing at a swanky set up that is, generally speaking, a bit fancier than is my usual but not so much that it's gonna leave a lasting mark. true to form the cocktails were fabulous and since food would have detracted from the experience I took a hard pass there. I wasn't hungry but I'd stuck around a little too long and knew a Jekyll -v- Hyde change was in the offing so I got over to Benny's to stay ahead of it. not super busy late night mid week so no waiting to request one slice of veggie and one slice meat-za to go and what's with the 'yes we have no cookies' thing? took a few minutes to get my order het up and boxed but the overhead is enchanting and soothing so waiting isn't too horrible except for not having any pizza while waiting for pizza. is Benny's the best pizza around charlotte? not really, but it is totally the best pizza around 11:00pm midweek midtown. giant slab of well mannered virginian pizza using quality ingredients to cover the whole thing albeit not everything is everywhere to a uniform depth every time but these things are big enough so it's close enough!! took half an hour to get home and sample the midnight pizza. a few nibbles of each slice with a glass of OJ before nodding off to dreamland and visions of the best breakfast ever when the alarm coaxes me awake in a couple hours... Zzzz

Visited this pizza place with my brother after returning from vacation. Hands down the best pizza in Charlotte. Reminds me of the NY style pizza from my childhood. I was surprised by the size of the pizza but once it arrive the cost was worth it. Service was quick and the location, being in Noda, was quirky and cute. Benny's has been added to my go-to place when visitors are in town!

Pepperoni Pizza: 4/5 - Standard NY style slice. Nothing special, just pretty good pizza Buscemi Pizza: 3/5 - Wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. (Big slices, long wait, Italian hot sauce is good) RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Definitely getting this again) 4 - Good (Would get it again) 3 - Ok (Might give it another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Who doesn't love a giant slice of pizza??? Well, Benny's is the place for you, if you do! I personally find that if you're looking to get 3-4 slices, it's better to just get a whole giant pie. They're open late night until 3am, so it's also good to soak up all that alcohol from the night. It can truly be a savior!!!!! It's your typical no-frills pizza spot with plenty of seating too. Wait time isn't bad unless they are super busy.

Eclectic pizza shop with a super huge pizzas and large slices. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. The staff are chill. Pizza is good. They serve alcohol and support local artists. Hope you have a great experience

Was craving some pizza late night after a comedy show and stumbled across this spot since it was still open. It looked like a local neighborhood bar/ kind of hole in the wall spot but they had a good variety of pizza options so it was good enough for me. I don't remember the name of the pizza I got (probably a beef or steak) and my friend got pepperoni and it honestly wasn't bad at all. I appreciate that they were open late and that's just what we needed.

I was so excited to try this place because I love pizza and Benny Pennello's didn't disappoint! I had the mushroom and garlic pizza! The huge slice of pizza came out fresh and hot! The crust was thin and buttery. It was crispy without being hard. The mushrooms were seasoned to perfection with garlic and other seasonings. I would get extra cheese next time that I pay Benny's a visit as I love cheese and love to have the nice "cheese pull". They were busy which in turn made our wait longer. It was worth it! The have some seating inside and more space in the back of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this pizza place!

We arrived here around 9pm. Luckily we were able to get a parking spot in the lot they share. We waited in and were able to walk up and order rather quickly since there was only one couple in front of us. Although it was mostly full, ordering and the actual wait time wasn't bad. Now, I love pizza. And large, oversized New York style pizza is my favorite. I ordered a pepperoni with garlic mushrooms on top. Never had I had garlic mushrooms on pizza but never will I order another pizza without them. They were the star of that pizza. I devoured this slice so quick, I was already plotting my next trip back.

The crust deserves a special mention, A+ all the way. It has the perfect texture and flavor and is good enough to eat on its own. Every bite was fantastic, and the quality really stands out. We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

I also appreciated that it wasn't overly greasy but to me I don't love a sweet sauce, and this definitely leans on the sweeter end. The downfall for to go orders is that you don't get to order a specialty pie and I think that's where a lot of the magic is. It's hard to get a pepperoni pizza and have your socks blown off in my opinion. I think in the future I'd want to dine in and have the pizza fresh & do a specialty pie and see how it compares!

I went solo, I was hungry and heard really good things. I waited an hour and 5 minutes for a single seat at the bar but that's okay I get it they are busy. The OG pizza sounded good, it came in about 20 minutes. I like a thing pizza and this was super thin, however it was so crispy it cut the roof of my mouth and it must have been sitting around or something because the sauce was not hot and the cheese was hard like it had been sitting out for to long. Like I'm hungry so I hate half the pizza! But this could have been so much better if it was just cooked well. The dough taste good sure. But having good ingredients means nothing if you can't cook it good. I'd love to give it another shot some time but this was just not great pizza.

But the salad dressing was nothing close to a typical Caesar dressing. Very mediocre. Hope someone is reviewing food and preparation and getting opinions of others so corrective steps can be taken. Real marble tables, nice little coffee shop vibes, the plain cheese pizza was the best I've had in charlotte so far, very good cheese flavor, slightly greasy but not in a gross way at all, in a rich delicious way which personally I like. I've never eaten pizza with a knife and fork before but for some reason it made the taste better lol. Idk why. The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor it was not. And when eating it, the texture was very gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. But check it out for yourself because we only tried three things and the pictures of the other pizzas do look amazing. That is all!
