Jersey Mike's Subs - A happy lettuce:) - Sandwiches Near Me - Salem, Oregon

We picked up sandwhiches from this location on our way to Enchanted Forest. We had ordered online and had not been in this location before. Pulled up and there is an employee outside moving the chairs and his shirt is absolutely filthy. Like it looked as if it had never been washed. If I had seen this individual prior to ordering I would not have ordered because if his shirt is this dirty should I trust he washed his hands? But alas we picked up the sandwhiches and went on our merry way. About an hour later we go to eat the sandwhiches (which we kept in our cooler bag) and the kids ham and cheese sandwhich was absolutely covered in mayo. Like someone took a giant spoon and just globbed it on there. Both sides of the bread and then also in between the cheese and ham. I tried to scrape and wipe it off but it wasn't salvageable and we had to just throw it out because the 6 year old wouldn't eat it and honestly I don't blame her. The other sandwhiches were fine but I would absolutely never order from this location again after this experience. read more

Excellent service. It's so nice having someone with a smile take your order. Also the sandwich maker had the most beautiful smile and explained what else could be put on my sandwich. I also ask about the special red sauce, and he gave me a sample of it. We did not know what mikes way was, so he educated us. We got the number nine and shared it -giant size Just added yellow mustard. IT WAS DELICIOUS. SO FRESH. The place was spotlessly clean, and we will definitely be back. We were thanked for our order and to top it off. We even got a senior discount. Our new favorite sandwich shop!!!! read more

I am voting this my favorite jersey Mike's. The staff here are awesome, friendly, not stressful to be around, want their customers to be happy and generally just all around great people. The sandwich was on par with the best jersey Mike's sandwiches and very reminiscent of the Jersey shore back in the 80s and 90s and then you know how to make a sandwich. By the way, try number two Mike's way with jalapeños. read more

Kudos and then some to the woman (the manager, I believe) who went above and beyond to get us some ketchup for our Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. 99.9% of the Philly Cheesesteaks sold in the U.S. are sold within a 100-mile radius of Philadelphia, and 99.9% of those are consumed WITH KETCHUP and for some perplexing reason, Jersey Mike's stores do not have ketchup on hand to accompany their delicious Philly Cheesesteaks. It's a mystery, I have no idea why, but she went somewhere and came back with some ketchup packets, and for that, she has my everlasting gratitude. read more

So the food is pretty decent here, that's not my issue with the store. My issue is when you place an online order and then go into the store to pick it up. They don't put your order up on the mantle where it says pick order up here and I sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for my order when they had it behind the counter the whole time and the whole time I was sitting waiting not one employee asked if I was there for a pick up order or anything!!!!!!! read more

Gentleman before me in line requested a lot of pepper on his sandwich and majority of it landed on my sandwich right next to it. When I politely told the employee I didn't want pepper on mine he whispered back and forth with another employee and then refused to remake my sandwich because he said the tuna was pre-made with pepper in it. read more

Another friendly sandwich shop. We were greeted at the order point. They were pretty busy when we were here. Sandwiches were put together in an assembly line type of manner. One of the employees was training with a more seasoned employee. They made brief conversation with us. The only down side to this location, was the tables were a little dirty and we had to wipe down our own table. Everything else was good. The sandwiches were great. Normally I've eaten sandwiches to go. This was the first time I ate at the shop and they were so much better eating them right away. read more

GEEZ, I used to think the big guy in Subs was pretty good. FRESH on FRESH with more FRESH is what I loved here. Good folks and they offered really great suggestions about how our sandwich could be better for our taste. I wish we had a Jersey Mikes in our little town. read more

The food is good, if they get your order right. We went there last week, to grab sandwiches for a quick celebration. I ordered a giant sandwich, with steak, provolone and mushrooms. I watched the young lady write down the order correctly, but the sandwich I received was definitely not the sandwich I ordered, so obviously the young man who prepared it didn't bother to read the order (it had no cheese, green peppers and chipotle sauce on it, ick). I called as soon as I saw the sandwich and have been waiting a week for a callback from the manager. I gave a second star because the place was very clean and well lit read more

555 Edgewater St NW, West Salem, OR 97304 *Semi-Recommended* 12:20pm 12-10-21 I am going to be gracious and give this place a 3 Star Review at this time. This is my very first time ever coming to this place, we are in the process of transitioning from California to Oregon and wanted to try something new and I have to say - *Not Impressed* Order Taker: Chris - No smile when we came to the front. But she was OK, I could tell she was under a lot of stress. It would be great to be able to have the very first face we see to have a welcoming energy. But because of the stress we took the stuff after her hard and it made it difficult to deal with the attitudes from the others. **Training Needed** Sandwich maker: Kyle - Muffled the words if I wanted the 3 sandwiches Mike's Way, since it was muffled and I have never been there I did not understand what he said. So I said we want the works on the sandwiches, when I said the works he gave me an attitude *So Mike's Way!!!* So I said yes. I asked for extra lettuce and extra  Peppercini's *He sighed like it was a hassle to ask for extra toppings* I then asked for mayonnaise on the top and he said with an attitude *they all come with it* When he wrapped 2 of the sandwiches he stuck those in a bag, then when he wrapped mine he just handed it to me assuming I was going to just eat it there. **Training Needed** I watched this man with the lady before us and when she requested for mayonnaise he did not say anything like he was ignoring her. I could tell it made her feel embarrassed about even asking. (We should not be made to feel this way and since we are paying with our hard earned money we deserve to be treated with respect) Register: Calvin - When I was trying to say the type of sandwiches we got, 2 #9 Mini's 1 #6 Regular. Since its my first time there I said 2 regular #9 and he threw an attitude saying *Those are Mini* if he knew what they were he should have just taken care of it instead of expecting me to say what they were. **Training Needed** (Name on Receipt was Tiffany which means Calvin was not using his own drawer. In all my experiences with being a manager, sharing draws is strictly prohibited, so in my personal/professional opinion that is not ok) Supervisor: Tiffany, I want to thank you for taking the time to speak to me when I requested an audience with you, I wanted to bring my experience to your attention, so this matter could be dealt with in a manner of using this as a training for your current and future employees. But what I do not appreciate is the fact that they way you handled this situation was with excuses about being short handed 5 people, and nodding your head with the look of *Omg I cannot handle this right now* I also felt a little rushed in trying to convey my experience to her. Other then that she was great at listening and taking the appropriate action in making me feel like she truly wanted to make my experience as best as she could. So thank you I completely understand how it feels to be short handed. *I worked on New Years Eve by myself at Jack in the box, doing the front and drive through orders, along with making the food on the grill and the food on the fryers. I did not ask for or imply I wanted the refund nor money back for the experience we recieved, but I do thank you for doing it and giving us 3 sandwich vouchers. So because you took action to try your best to fix this experience I am doing a 3 star review and will be willing to definitely come back and see if I get a better experience next time. In all Honesty with a little bit more of the RIGHT training Tiffany would be an exceptional manager. But from what I saw she let the stress of the day and the stress of being short handed overwhelm the most important role of the position she holds. **Standing strong and being the piller of the shift and role model for the employees comes first** when the manager is stressed and allows it to show especially when taking care of customers needs, it effects the team GREATLY. Once Tiffany overcomes this little hurdle I can tell you from my personal al and professional experience that she will be one of the best managers you will ever have. So a lot of encouragement and support is what she needs right now. My biggest desire is for you to use this opportunity to pay attention to on what needs to happen and what type of training is very much needed. *Suggested Training* Customer Service How to leave Personal life at Door Connecting to the customers needs Not correct the customer How to work together as a team Communication Not to make assumptions Bag all sandwiches or ask eating in or taking to go read more

Awesome people and fantastic subs. Set up like Subway but a little less choices. Used to be a Subway patron. No more! I love these subs! They actually put meat, cheese and other fixings on the bread. Not like subway who only does the outer edge so you eat more bread than anything else. Try Jersey Mikes. I think you will like it! read more

BEWARE!!!! Last Wed I came into this location & got horrible FOOD POISONING I don't usually ever write negative reviews, but this one I'm hoping will be able to help out any other fellow Yelpers. I hadn't eaten anything else within that 24hr period before or after, So I can say without a doubt it was THIS place I got sick from. :/ which pains me to say Becuz I really do love Jersey Mike's. My husband & I both got sandwiches, his was cooked & mine was a cold cut Turkey. We took ours to go & ate them in the car. As soon as I bit into mine I remember thinking the bread tasted stale & mine had a sour taste to it (Thought maybe it was the pickles He didn't get any lettuce on his sandwich like I did, so it was either bad pickles, lettuce, or bad deli Turkey. They weren't switching out gloves or anything between sandwiches & the board they dress your sandwich on was super messy & didn't appear too clean. (Should have been a red flag thinking back on it) I had a bad feeling when I saw they kept opening the door where the meats are stored. (Also should have been a red flag) It was busy when we walked in, so we figured this was a good spot, but we were wrong! Very well could have been from improper temp of the meat /pickles /lettuce or possibly just bad all of the above. Either way I'd stay away from this spot, not worth the risk in my opinion. I'd never had Food Poisoning before this encounter & it It was awful. Took me almost a week to feel better to the point my husband almost had to take me to the ER. Don't know it it's Becuz of Covid the standards it went down, or if I just was the unlucky one to get sick from this Jersey's Mike's. Not sure , but Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth quiet literally & has turned us off from ever going to a Jersey Mike's again in the future. Be careful guys I'd never want anyone going thru the same experience I just had!! read more

I ordered a catering box of sandwiches for an athletic team dinner. I placed my order days in advance and was hesitant to ask for "Mike's way" because the "juice" would make the bread soggy. The guy who took my order told me I could request the juice on the side to avoid this. When I picked up my order there was no juice on the side, it had already been applied to the sandwiches. The assistant manager assured me that the sandwiches can "last for hours" without getting soggy. He must be confusing business seconds with hours, by the time I got the sandwiches to the school, they were MAJOR SOGGY! Almost too gross to eat. Most of the team ate the innards of the sandwich and threw out the wet bread. What a huge disappointment. The staff offered to remake my sandwich order (he said it would take minutes), and considering his over-exaggeration of soggy time taking hours, I didn't want to risk what minutes actually meant in his mind. He then told me they would credit my account. It's been over a month and still no credit. Poor quality food, bad customer service & no follow through. read more

Been here a number of times and in general has been okay. Today it was not good. Employees were not prepared for the day. The place was dirty. Tables don't appear to be being cleaned (not good considering COVID). Counter where you pay was very dirty with food over it and a lot of what appeared to be cornmeal from the bread all over. In general a very dirty store. Mentioned it to an employee and he shrugged it off. Will not go baxk read more

So...... I spent 13.9inteysomething BS on a roast beef turkey joke. There were 8 pieces of thinnnnnn meat and cheese. I'd rather eat at subway... JJ is half the cost and worth the drive. We walked into the new Jersey Mike's Subs (#32010) in South Salem. It is a good sandwich and ... salad. We had the regular #16 Chicken Philly Cheese Steak (grilled chicken, onions, and peppers / $7.45) and #13 The Original Italian (ham, prosciutto, capicola, salami, provolone cheese, and pepperoni as a Sub-in-a-Tub / $8.25). They sliced the deli meats and cheeses in front of us, and all of the fixings look fresh. The employees were friendly and courteous. The dining room and men's room were neat and clean. We will return. Three Stars. read more

I love Jersey Mike's subs - just like the ones I grew up with in Delaware. However, this location has gotten my order wrong the past 3 times I've ordered from there. I usually go to JM in Keizer but when visiting family, the south Commercial location is (was) more convenient. The first time, I asked for no vinegar but got vinegar. The second time I asked for bacon, no bacon. The third (and final) time I again asked for no vinegar - put it in 3 different places on the order, to emphasize, but alas, vinegar. By the time I get home with the order I picked up, I don't want to have to go all the way back down to the store to get it right. I left a message but never got a call back. Not going back again, upset that they haven't even tried to make it right. read more

I personally don't enjoy this place. They don't have a lot of veggies or options which is a huge downside to me. They also sell tasty cakes which is a fat mans heaven. My husband and I love Jersey Mike's sandwiches and probably grab it for dinner once a week. It tends to be our go-to spot when we want something quick. 9 times out of 10 we request wheat bread and hear "we're out". I understand this being the case if we were showing up 30 minutes before closing but often time we come hours before closing time. If this only happened one or two times, it would be no big deal but it's probably been almost 8-10 times now. Clearly customers are ordering wheat bread so is it really that difficult to make a few more to get through the rest of the day? Staff is also less than friendly. Often just going through the motions. Would have given a much better rating if all standard sandwich items were available most of the time and if the staff made just a little more effort to be friendly to their guests. read more

Go the the Jersey Mikes in West Salem. The little high school kids who are running this location have no idea what they're doing. Any time I have come here they make me the tiniest sandwiches ever. They barely put any meat on it at all (even my wife agrees) compared to the West Salem location. The bread also has been stale on numerous occasions as well. I don't know what's going on with this location, but the quality control here is way out of hand. Like I said, go to the West Salem location (which I've given 5 stars) because it's a completely different experience and quality of food. read more

Stop back to do their sandwich's again. I was given free sandwich coupons to reconsider my prior review. Well this time everything was on the money. By that I mean, much letter looking sandwich, like the one you see on there commercials. Salad station for building the sandwich was clean and not over run with other ingredients into each other. New business needs time to fix problems. Hard openings to the public can be difficult. read more

I don't know how this place made it out of Jersey. This is the biggest cluster I think I've ever witnessed. Their business practice is horrible and slows things down. First, the guy at the counter takes your order on an old style ordering pad. He then pulls each meat out of the Cold case and slices it right there for each individual sandwich. Along with any cheeses you want. (What a slow process) My sandwich was less then good. I ordered a Philly steak sandwich and it was garbage. They didn't even ask me if I wanted anything on it. Next they had a loud mouth obnoxious guy finishing your sandwich. Dude, it's just a sandwich, it's not boot camp. Simmer down. I will not be back. read more

Is this what New Jersey sandwiches are like? If so, that's why the state is the joke of the nation. Chewed n' glued meat and pasteurized processed cheese 'product' is what awaits you here. Seriously--worse than subway, a junk joint that at least provides junk sandwiches at at reasonable price. For the love of God-- if you have ANY idea what constitutes a good sandwich, you won't be seen here. read more

First time at this new Salem location. It wasn't busy on a Friday evening, which was nice...as we walked right up and ordered! Both my hubby and I love love LOVE their sandwiches, so don't listen to the haters out there. Bread is fresh and they give ample toppings without question. I'd suggest adding a few more topping options, but then again, we all don't want them to be Subway. Their giant subs are actually GIANTS...well worth the $12 or so each. Staff was super friendly and efficient when we went. We'll be back! read more

Jersey Mike's Subs - They mean it when you ask for double cheese :-) - Sandwiches Near Me - Salem, Oregon

All I've ever eaten is the #13 Italian sandwich (their original), but it's great and I've been back about 10 times to order it. Yes it takes a little longer because each of the 4-5 Italian meats requires being pulled out of the deli case and sliced fresh, but would you rather they use old pre-sliced cold cuts? In my experience the bread is good (if a bit dry, at least for the whole wheat roll) and the meats are high quality. The oil and vinegar that they drown the sandwich in (which you can ask them NOT to do, it's called "Mike's Way") helps with the dryness of the bread. The folks working there are a little over-friendly some times, but I figure that's their shtick so I'm ok with it. Anyway, I recommend you try their #13 regular sized Italian hoagie. It's about $8 and tastes delicious to me. They have plenty of parking, and the line isn't usually too long, unless you go right at noon. read more

Not bad, but still no Togo's. Way too much bread, not enough pastrami. I guess Salem is the capital of mediocre $8 sandwiches as well as being the state capital. Pastrami had good taste but there just wasn't too much on it. I give up! read more

Came here a while back now for my moms birthday and they had great service!! She had received a free birthday drink and sub, which could simply be tossed together like subway or something but this was far better!! Her sandwich was well made and accommodated what she could and couldn't have easily. Since then we have ordered take out twice and it has been great! The salads aren't what you would expect since they use the sandwich lettuce, but still good. They haven't messed up an order once and it is far better than jimmy johns or subway! First of all the sandwich was DISGUSTING. Second, the employees were very stuck up. Third the guy making my sandwich drowned it in oil. The cheese was literally RUBBER!!! When my Fiance said ALL the veggies they still asked three times what he wanted on it;He had to tell the guy the exact ingredients he wanted. They had a poor ingredient selection and the bread isn't wide enough to hold the veggies. So lastly, we ate the subs out of guilt, but then shortly after we felt kind of sick and wished we didn't.
