I am voting this my favorite jersey Mike's. The staff here are awesome, friendly, not stressful to be around, want their customers to be happy and generally just all around great people. The sandwich was on par with the best jersey Mike's sandwiches and very reminiscent of the Jersey shore back in the 80s and 90s and then you know how to make a sandwich. Kudos and then some to the woman (the manager, I believe) who went above and beyond to get us some ketchup for our Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. 99.9% of the Philly Cheesesteaks sold in the U.S. are sold within a 100-mile radius of Philadelphia, and 99.9% of those are consumed WITH KETCHUP and for some perplexing reason, Jersey Mike's stores do not have ketchup on hand to accompany their delicious Philly Cheesesteaks. So the food is pretty decent here, that's not my issue with the store. My issue is when you place an online order and then go into the store to pick it up. They don't put your order up on the mantle where it says pick order up here and I sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for my order when they had it behind the counter the whole time and the whole time I was sitting waiting not one employee asked if I was there for a pick up order or anything!!!!!!! read more

Gentleman before me in line requested a lot of pepper on his sandwich and majority of it landed on my sandwich right next to it. Another friendly sandwich shop. We were greeted at the order point. They were pretty busy when we were here. Sandwiches were put together in an assembly line type of manner. One of the employees was training with a more seasoned employee. They made brief conversation with us. The only down side to this location, was the tables were a little dirty and we had to wipe down our own table. Everything else was good. The sandwiches were great. The food is good, if they get your order right. We went there last week, to grab sandwiches for a quick celebration. I ordered a giant sandwich, with steak, provolone and mushrooms. I watched the young lady write down the order correctly, but the sandwich I received was definitely not the sandwich I ordered, so obviously the young man who prepared it didn't bother to read the order (it had no cheese, green peppers and chipotle sauce on it, ick). I ordered a catering box of sandwiches for an athletic team dinner. I placed my order days in advance and was hesitant to ask for "Mike's way" because the "juice" would make the bread soggy. The guy who took my order told me I could request the juice on the side to avoid this. When I picked up my order there was no juice on the side, it had already been applied to the sandwiches. The assistant manager assured me that the sandwiches can "last for hours" without getting soggy. He must be confusing business seconds with hours, by the time I got the sandwiches to the school, they were MAJOR SOGGY! Almost too gross to eat. Most of the team ate the innards of the sandwich and threw out the wet bread. What a huge disappointment. The staff offered to remake my sandwich order (he said it would take minutes), and considering his over-exaggeration of soggy time taking hours, I didn't want to risk what minutes actually meant in his mind. BEWARE!!!! Last Wed I came into this location & got horrible FOOD POISONING I don't usually ever write negative reviews, but this one I'm hoping will be able to help out any other fellow Yelpers. They weren't switching out gloves or anything between sandwiches & the board they dress your sandwich on was super messy & didn't appear too clean. (Should have been a red flag thinking back on it) I had a bad feeling when I saw they kept opening the door where the meats are stored. (Also should have been a red flag) It was busy when we walked in, so we figured this was a good spot, but we were wrong! Very well could have been from improper temp of the meat /pickles /lettuce or possibly just bad all of the above. Either way I'd stay away from this spot, not worth the risk in my opinion. I'd never had Food Poisoning before this encounter & it It was awful. Took me almost a week to feel better to the point my husband almost had to take me to the ER. Don't know it it's Becuz of Covid the standards it went down, or if I just was the unlucky one to get sick from this Jersey's Mike's. I love Jersey Mike's subs - just like the ones I grew up with in Delaware. However, this location has gotten my order wrong the past 3 times I've ordered from there. I usually go to JM in Keizer but when visiting family, the south Commercial location is (was) more convenient. The first time, I asked for no vinegar but got vinegar. The second time I asked for bacon, no bacon. The third (and final) time I again asked for no vinegar - put it in 3 different places on the order, to emphasize, but alas, vinegar. By the time I get home with the order I picked up, I don't want to have to go all the way back down to the store to get it right. I left a message but never got a call back. We walked into the new Jersey Mike's Subs (#32010) in South Salem. It is a good sandwich and ... salad. We had the regular #16 Chicken Philly Cheese Steak (grilled chicken, onions, and peppers / $7.45) and #13 The Original Italian (ham, prosciutto, capicola, salami, provolone cheese, and pepperoni as a Sub-in-a-Tub / $8.25). They sliced the deli meats and cheeses in front of us, and all of the fixings look fresh. The employees were friendly and courteous. The dining room and men's room were neat and clean. I personally don't enjoy this place. They don't have a lot of veggies or options which is a huge downside to me. They also sell tasty cakes which is a fat mans heaven. My husband and I love Jersey Mike's sandwiches and probably grab it for dinner once a week. It tends to be our go-to spot when we want something quick. 9 times out of 10 we request wheat bread and hear "we're out". I understand this being the case if we were showing up 30 minutes before closing but often time we come hours before closing time. If this only happened one or two times, it would be no big deal but it's probably been almost 8-10 times now. Clearly customers are ordering wheat bread so is it really that difficult to make a few more to get through the rest of the day? Staff is also less than friendly. Often just going through the motions. Would have given a much better rating if all standard sandwich items were available most of the time and if the staff made just a little more effort to be friendly to their guests. read more

Go the the Jersey Mikes in West Salem. The little high school kids who are running this location have no idea what they're doing. Any time I have come here they make me the tiniest sandwiches ever. They barely put any meat on it at all (even my wife agrees) compared to the West Salem location. The bread also has been stale on numerous occasions as well. I don't know what's going on with this location, but the quality control here is way out of hand. Like I said, go to the West Salem location (which I've given 5 stars) because it's a completely different experience and quality of food. read more

First time at this new Salem location. It wasn't busy on a Friday evening, which was nice...as we walked right up and ordered! Both my hubby and I love love LOVE their sandwiches, so don't listen to the haters out there. Bread is fresh and they give ample toppings without question. I'd suggest adding a few more topping options, but then again, we all don't want them to be Subway. Their giant subs are actually GIANTS...well worth the $12 or so each. All I've ever eaten is the #13 Italian sandwich (their original), but it's great and I've been back about 10 times to order it. Yes it takes a little longer because each of the 4-5 Italian meats requires being pulled out of the deli case and sliced fresh, but would you rather they use old pre-sliced cold cuts? In my experience the bread is good (if a bit dry, at least for the whole wheat roll) and the meats are high quality. The oil and vinegar that they drown the sandwich in (which you can ask them NOT to do, it's called "Mike's Way") helps with the dryness of the bread. The folks working there are a little over-friendly some times, but I figure that's their shtick so I'm ok with it. Anyway, I recommend you try their #13 regular sized Italian hoagie. It's about $8 and tastes delicious to me. They have plenty of parking, and the line isn't usually too long, unless you go right at noon. read more

Came here a while back now for my moms birthday and they had great service!! She had received a free birthday drink and sub, which could simply be tossed together like subway or something but this was far better!! Her sandwich was well made and accommodated what she could and couldn't have easily. Since then we have ordered take out twice and it has been great! The salads aren't what you would expect since they use the sandwich lettuce, but still good. They haven't messed up an order once and it is far better than jimmy johns or subway! First of all the sandwich was DISGUSTING. Second, the employees were very stuck up. Third the guy making my sandwich drowned it in oil. The cheese was literally RUBBER!!! When my Fiance said ALL the veggies they still asked three times what he wanted on it;He had to tell the guy the exact ingredients he wanted. They had a poor ingredient selection and the bread isn't wide enough to hold the veggies. So lastly, we ate the subs out of guilt, but then shortly after we felt kind of sick and wished we didn't.
