I recently stopped by this Killer Burger location to experience the Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger one last time on my way out of Oregon. I ordered the lunch box combo, which comes with a pint size burger, small side of fries, and small drink for $11. The first time I ordered this burger, it had way too much peanut butter- but that's only happened once. This time, it was just right. The pint size burger is on the smaller size, but together with the fries and drink, it was actually more than I could finish in one setting. I ended up taking half the burger on the road for dinner. Perfect, since I was trying to make great time. This is one of those things that sounds weird, but everyone should try at least once. I think I've tried it about seven times now, so, I guess that makes me a fan, although I also like the Teemah and some of their other specialty burgers. Customer service was great and the line was not too long at all. No drive through, but the inside is huge, with plenty of seating, and there's plenty of parking. read more

The fries knock a full 2 stars off this review. Killer Burger's burgers are killer. Maybe a bit of a "duh" there. For fans of spice, the Bender can't be beat, though the Jose Mendoza makes a good effort. If cheese is your thing, the Teemah or Fun Guy are unmissable. The Meathead and Purist are as good as they could be, though if you get one of those you're missing out on the more unique and gourmet burgers. Even the Classic and Motley Queue provide flavorsome, well-balanced takes on the more traditional american and cowboy burger styles, respectively. But the real star, as you have surely heard, is the Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon. I promise you. Try it. Peanut butter and pickle is a combination that you either love, really love, or don't like because you already didn't like either pickles or peanut butter. Despite being greater than the sum of its parts, I've never met someone who enjoys both peanut butter and pickles who doesn't love them together (at least, after a bit of convincing). Killer Burger's take on this combination absolutely does it justice. The wait times can be a bit long, and the prices a tiny bit high, but the burger is worth it. Honestly, I'd recommend just ordering from Killer Burger as delivery anyways. That would be a five star review. Except! The fries. What is happening here? The fries are oversalted to hell, they charge for sauces, and worst of all -- they're skimpy as anything! Yes, the portion works out to be perfectly satisfying without making you feel sick, but for $3.50, I want a portion of fries that leaves me feeling sick! Seriously, how does an order of fries ($4.34 delivered) come out smaller than a pint size burger? They must keep hiring people with smaller and smaller hands, because my handful of fries has only gotten tinier since Killer Burger opened, as well. Get your fry game together, then we'll talk. Order: Jose Mendoza & Frys Pros: So the wait was roughly 40 mins. The burger and frys flavor wise tasted good. The jose mendoza was super spicy but had just enough kick flavor wise. The frys are nice and thick. Cons: So they tell people to sign up for the app for the free shareable frys and then you get to the register and cant use the app. Then the lady at the register wont honor the sign up. She has an attitude because every person asked about it. Take the sign down or honor the download. The wait is pretty long still. Not sure I will come back as there are an abundance of burger places. I really loved my food and the experience. They were as affordable as Nancy Joe's but the meat quality was better. The patty was hand-formed and delicious. There are several burgers on the menu; you can customize something differently if you wish. They carried Coke products, a rarity these days. There was a healthy selection of brews and ciders in a can AND on tap. They bring you your food and they bus your table after you leave. I was told that this place had the best burger of any fat food place in South Salem, so I decided to try it. I walked in, and it was very busy, but I decided to stay and order. Only waited in line a couple of minutes before they took my order. I grabbed my drink and sat down, that's when I got it why they were so busy, everybody was waiting on their food. 45 minutes later, I finally heard what I thought my name we being called. It was finally up there. When I got to my car and checked the box, the food was barely warm. I took a bite of the burger and a French fry. This is what I waited all that time for? Needless to say, I am not impressed. I usually give a place a couple of chances before I write them off, but I don't think this place can redeem themselves. They had plenty of staff tripping over each other, but no food was coming out. I would have gone back in to complain, but I didn't want to waste any more time at the place, and I sure wasn't going to wait on another burger and fries. I don't like Burgerville, but Killer Burger took over the bottom spot on my list of places to get a burger. Other stores might be different, but I'll pass by this Salem store and drive a little further to Keiser and get a real hot burger and fries at In-N-Out. read more

Not the Killer Burger I remember from up in the Portland area. Disappointed, but hopefully the low quality was only because they're newly open and still working out the kinks (that's me trying to be positive, but really, this shouldn't happen, the kinks should be worked out before you open). But, quality of the burger patty itself was very low. It was INSANELY salty and the cheese was burnt to a crisp. And not the good kind of burnt cheese, this was charcoal burnt. The fries were over cooked, like you know when they almost seem hollow, ya, that's how they were. The ranch was good though! The floors are extremely slippery! Staff was nice, except the staff member who was standing by the door that didn't bother to even attempt to open it while I was trying to carrying 3 drinks and not slip on the floor. Sooo ya. Clean uni-sex restrooms. Food: the burgers were potentially great. The table had a Farmhouse Burger ($11.95) with Fries (an additional $3.50), and Fun Guy Burger ($10.95) with a veggie patty and bacon (and yes, the irony of ordering Bacon with a Veggie Patty doesn't escape me). Service: IMHO, it took way too long to get the food out. 21-minutes Killer Burgers left me standing in a crowded aisle, next to a number of annoyed customers, who were also waiting for their food. Jostled by employees bringing food out to other annoyed customers at tables, waiting on their food. Beyond the wait, the kitchen put my fries - which are really well seasoned - in my to-go box, where they waited 20-minutes for the burger, no heat lamp. I despise cold fries. Additionally, the Fun Guy Burger, the one with the Veggie Patty (which is an option without an up charge, which I applaud) and Bacon ... was delivered without the Bacon. This experience was from two weeks after opening. I thought the food, which was a decent burger, was merely ok. I had their breakfast burger. However, I waited more than an hour to get my food; the first thirty minutes they made a mistake and gave me a burger I did not ask for, and then waited 40 minutes for the correct order but it was the wrong size. I ate the second anyways. So it was a bad experience for that end of the service. There was a server, however, who was super professional about my bad experience, offered apologies, and in my opinion made me feel better about my bad time. One issue I think is that the order is affected by the ambience. It is loud, almost uncomfortably so, and the seating feels like an afterthought to me. I could barely hear myself or my brother who went with me as we were eating. I don't think I had ever been to a louder restaurant! Usually I can handle things loud but it was too much for me. If I could give it a half star, that would be gracious. I placed an order for for a chicken sandwich and fries for delivery at 5:57 pm and received it at 7:13 pm. This location is approximately 2 miles from my office, so a delivery should be simply. Initially I received a message that my order would arrive within 30 minutes. I understand when things get busy, but almost an hour and a half for a sandwich? I attempted to call the restaurant four times to cancel my order once I realized I wasn't going to receive it in any decent condition, and they never answered the phone. I attempted to call the phone number of the delivery driver, which was provided, and they did not answer. I attempted to go online and cancel my order, and that was not possible. So, eventually I received a soggy chicken sandwich and ice cold fries, which, all together, might've been 12. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EAT HERE. I actually go to the location in Eugene, OR and love it, so don't let this terribly managed and run establishment ruin it for you. What a rip off. read more
