Thought I was just coming in for a tuna sub, wasn't expected to be served complimentary *GOOD VIBES* --the guys working were singing along to the oldies music, and lovingly assembled me a mini tuna Sammy on white bread. Lord knows you can't just go having tuna from any old place, tuna salad can be sketchy. But theirs says it was made in house daily and I can believe it. I eat at this jersey mikes a couple times a week since it's right next to my gym. Today will be the last time I support this franchise. I went in to order my sub and they messed up my order pretty badly. I went to them and told the associate that this isn't what I ordered. He apologized and offered me a free sub. He went to look for the free sub coupon for me and realized they were out so he took my name down and told me next time I come in he will make me a new sub and had me write down my name and info. Two days later I decide to come again since I went back to the gym. I was talking to a "soon to be manager" since the associate wasn't working. I explained the situation to him and he said that it wasn't part of their policy. I understood because I didn't receive any physical evidence to prove I was promised a free sub. He only offered me 10% off. I told him that doesn't really help and said I come often so whenever I come and that associate that falsely offered me a free sub for his mistake is working I will handle it then. At this moment this rude lady names JEN who was ease dropping the entire conversation interrupted and said "Well it won't matter because you won't be getting your sub remade!" To which I said how can your associate offer something and you not honor it. It's just a $5-$10 sub it's not about the money it was just more the principle. I was totally fine just giving it up but the rudeness and terrible customer service is what has me here leaving this review. The customer is almost always right. I have been supporting their business no complaints. I ordered a sub and they messed up my order and promised a new one. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for a manager to not be sympathetic in the case or to be treating me the way she was. Bad look for the brand all together and I would definitely have a look at how that was handled. Messing up an order and not fixing the mistake is stealing from the customer. I didn't ask for what I got nor should I have to pay for their mistake. JEN thinks that if her company messes up your order you need to live with it no refund or fixing the mistake. Just makes me wonder how does one get into a management business in the hospitality industry. I wish I could give them a 0 rating. 1 is too generous. read more

Jersey Mikes is one of my most favorite guilty pleasures! I recommend going in as supposed to using a delivery service to get your food, the up charge on delivery is quite large. I can always find a -$2 off coupon online for any sub size. My two go-to sandwiches are the chipotle cheesesteak hot sub or the turkey, bacon and avocado sub. Don't forget to order "Mikes Way" for your cold subs (onion, tomato and Italian dressing). I recently found that they offer gluten free bread! This is exciting! However, it's not made in store and doesn't taste half as good as the standard bread options. They also offer gluten free Udi snickerdoodle cookies that are fantastic! They also offer "Shore Points" if you register you get a free sub on your birthday and other discounts after spending a certain amount of money/visits. read more

Great custom subs. I like the deli sliced thin meats fresh to order. Their cheesesteak stands up to my college days in Philly which is saying a lot. Above all, these folks are a great group of people that care about their community. I used to come here all the time on my lunch breaks and even if the line seemed long the employees always worked so quickly to get everyone's orders complete. I always wondered why Jersey Mike's in La Costa is not as busy as Jersey Mike's in Encinitas...I think I figured out why. I went in about an hour ago and ordered a regular #8. I don't know if they are food rationing at the Jersey Mike's in La Costa, but I just had the weirdest experience from any deli ever. The guy cut the bread for my sando. He weighed the top bun on some scale, then he weighed the bottom bun. He sliced the cheese, and weighed the bun with cheese. He sliced the ham, and weighed the bun with cheese and ham. I noticed he added previously sliced turkey and only sliced one slice of fresh turkey to my sando, and yes, he weighed the bun, cheese, ham, previously sliced turkey, and freshly sliced turkey on the scale!! By this point I had lost my appetite... Why do you have to weigh my sandwich so many times? What's on the surface of the scale you keep putting my sando on? Who's sando did the previously sliced turkey come from? By the time the lady was asking me if I wanted my sando "Mike's Way", I just walked out. You can weigh my sandwich again before throwing it in the garbage can!! Better sandwich options in La Costa at Gelson's for about $11. I almost never write reviews but I'm doing it this time in hope's something changes because I absolutely love these subs and I live within walking distance. I've visited 3 and only went back tonight because of a coupon/was starving. Visit 1 I waited 25 minutes for ONE regular sub while the team (very slowly and without any apologies) made a massive call ahead takeout order. I get that places get busy but I was 1 of 2 people physically in the store. I've worked in a sub shop for 4 summers during high school and you can easily cater to 1 quick to go order while making a larger one. Visit 2 I was not greeted for 9 minutes, even to tell me I'd be helped shortly, with NO LINE. I walked out because I don't blame these young girls for being unprofessional, I blame the people who trained them. Visit 3, tonight, I asked twice, because she didn't hear me the first time, for banana peppers and got home without them on my sub. Not a huge deal, but I almost laughed and thought to myself "service was too good to be true tonight." Advice for management is to retrain these people before a very easy customer base bails. read more

Worst experience ever at this brand new place where I live just down the street from it. I went in for the first time actually ever at a Jersey Mike's and I had a coupon. A woman that works there who was in a hurry for wherever reason, I was the only one in the store at the moment, no lines, nothing that should have made this woman made any mistakes about my order, she asked me what I wanted, I showed her the coupon I had, "it's not for this store (she said) but we'll still take it)" I hadn't noticed it was for a Jersey Mike's in Encinitas. I told her sorry that I hadn't noticed that and even said it was ok if they couldn't take it. I asked which sandwich I could get with the coupon she told me anyone of the subs. I chose the "Jersey Mike's Famous Philly with no peppers". I thought I was very clear when I said and she replied "ok". I went to pay and a man, who just like the rest of the staff had no name tag but acted as the manager of the store was at the time quite nice, I told him was my first time at any Jersey Mike's showed him the coupon and he said "that's great, we take it here doesn't matter that it says Encinitas" he even gave it back to me to use for another day. Nice, at first. However, when we got the sandwich, it was full of peppers which we clearly said "no peppers", we returned it and said " I asked for no peppers", this attitude woman looked at another co-worker, that co-worker looked at another co-worker since there were literally 4 young people standing there at the counter and only myself and another customer eating inside. I thought perhaps the end of the world was coming because I told them that basically what I asked for is not what I got. Total attitude and already for me, bad customer service, period. I'm not the one that made the mistake, yet, I have to get looks as if I killed their best friend? Pretty ridiculous. Now, Jersey Mike's famous philly comes only with onions and peppers, that's it, that's all. I asked for NOT PEPPERS, very simple, so I thought. When we get the sandwich the second time around, the peppers were not in it but there were a lot of mushrooms (not even the fresh kind, but from the can for sure) regardless, all bunch of mushroom. At this point I was wondering what was going on and even though I truly hate mushrooms (my girlfriend doesn't mind them, but likes them fresh) we just looked at each other and ate the sandwich anyways. My girlfriend however was not happy about the whole incident and the lack of customer service received along with the attitude and unfriendliness, mind you this place just opened here, a week ago. She went to speak to supposedly the manager of the store although we don't even know if he were the manager, he told us he was, and told him what had happened. How can someone ask for a certain sandwich and get a different one. The manager instead of apologizing to us about what had happened, asked my girlfriend what kind of sandwich we had asked for, which was ridiculous because he is the one that took our bill and spoke to us right after we ordered it, anyhow, I told him that we ordered "the Jersey Mike's famous philly" he loudly asked his employee, the woman that took our order "what kind of sandwich did they order" she replied "Big Kahuna Cheese Steak", are you kidding me? The manager looked at me like saying "that's what you ordered" as if I made the whole thing up, as if I were lying for wherever stupid reason, about a sandwich?. I said "no way did I order that" and repeated for the fourth time now what I ordered. However, I said to the manager what is it with the attitude about it all, but before I could go on the manager who immediately understood that I had a complaint about it, do to his NOW different look on his face and ready to attack any/all my issues I had at his store, tells me, the customer "sorry, I back up my staff 100%", like saying that I the customer didn't matter at all. WOW!! I've never gone to any place, especially a small sandwich place where a manager has ever said to any customer(s), right or wrong, a customer that pays for him and his staff to be able to have a job, if it weren't for us the customers there would be no need to have a Jersey Mike's or anything stores for that matter, because none of these people would have a job, " I back up my staff 100%" and dismisses the customer concern. They now lost two customers and don't care about it at all. I don't care either because if I need to or want to, there are many Jersey Mike's around in every corner that I can take my business to, and hopefully get much better customer service, without looks and/or attitude which this woman totally and uncalled for had. This was my experience, a bad experience, if anyone else will have or has had a much better one, that's good for them, doesn't mean my experience doesn't matter, and the way I was treated by both the staff and the manager if he were the manager, was totally unprofessional. read more
