Went to Chinese New Year with a small group. It was an amazing experience. We did family style and tried many different dishes. Soup dumplings, pan fish, soup, orange chicken, all very delicious. Service was excellent. Bakery also had yummy goodies. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese food restaurants in Dallas! I'm so glad I found this gem. The orange chicken is the best and has the perfect flavor! Their pork and napa dumplings are yummy and a good appetizer. Service here is always great and everyone is always so nice. This place is by far one of the better Chinese restaurants in Dallas. Don't believe the bad reviews! They are 5/5 in my book and are priced well too. Make sure to try the orange chicken! read more

We had the tuna tower, edamame, California roll and the bodyguard roll. It was all so good and the service was fast and polite. Not to mention it is super close to our house! read more

Love the salt and pepper shrimp, dumplings, orange chicken. Basically everything there is delicious.

Jeng Chi is our favorite Chinese food. We go here at least twice a month and order the green onion pancakes, the juicy dumplings, and the Chicken Fried Noodle. The service is fantastic and they are so accommodating with our two year old daughter. I'm pretty sure if she could talk, she would say Jeng Chi is her favorite restaurant. read more

Went back to back weeks and loves it. Favorites are the scallion pancakes and the wontons in hot spicy sauce. Loved the twice cook pork. Tried the crispy spicy chicken and it was only ok. Finally small juicy dumplings were a great one bite. Not the best soup dumplings I've ever had but still delicious nonetheless. All food is fresh and service is quick. Most important, prices are great. read more

Tried Jeng Chi for lunch today based on the reviews. It was very good. The dishes are served family style. We ordered Hot & Sour Soup, Chinese Broccoli, Spicy Chicken with Vegetables, and Chicken Curry Juicy Dumplings. Each oh the stir-fries came with a small bowl (a couple of cups) of rice which was more than enough for the three of us. I enjoyed the soup which had clean flovors, but my companions thought it was improved by adding a bit of chile and vinegar. The vegetables in the stir-fries were fresh and tender crisp, and the sauce was light. The little dumplings were like steamed pot stickers and had a mild but discernable curry flavor. The service was friendly and timely. Overall a good experience and we will be back. read more

Just went today for the second time in my life. The first time I ordered strictly the noodles and they were pretty good. But the second time I went with family and got the dumplings and got some of the main dishes like fish with garlic sauce, chicken with spicy vegetables, and the curried lamb. All of it taste fantastic. Also, a pot of Green Dragon Tea made it superb. read more

I placed an order with Uber eats which took extremely too long. The driver said when he arrived, the food was not ready. Apparently when he came back someone else had picked up the food. It took an hour and a half to receive my food BUT I'm from Cali & have been looking for some good authentic Chinese food and this was delicious. I got the orange chicken. The comments is what made me give it a try. I highly recommend but save yourself the trouble & go pick it up yourself lol read more

Food is great. Dumplings are the best I've had in years. Good atmosphere, good staff. They do a very good job at social distancing also.

Their fried chicken plate is to die for!!!! We call it "crack chicken" cause once you take a bite, you can't stop!!!! The dumplings are also amazing!!!! read more

Food is just ok. Not authentic Chinese food, more like American-Chinese food. But it should be good for non-Asians since I saw a lot of people there. read more

I've been coming here for as long as I could walk and I constantly come back so that goes to show how great this place is. All the noodles are made in house and taste delicious. The pastries are also made in house. On the weekend they make bread and puff pastries beef and chicken. Chicken is my favorite so I get it when I can. The staff is are seriously the sweetest people ever. I always get scallion pancakes and I'm really not quite sure how to explain other than the fact that you have to get it. There is a sauce that I make it with, I've been making it since I was little and goes well with the scallion pancakes. They don't give you the sauce you have to make it yourself. The recipe is half vinegar, half soy sauce and a packet of sugar i usually add a little less than half its supposed to taste sweet and sour. Some may like it but its not everyones cup of tea. So you just take the sauce and dip it in the pancakes. Also if your a big fan of dumplings this is the place to be. They have these thing on the menu called Xiao Long Bao on the menu it's called juicy pork dumplings and let me tell you they are the best thing ever. They come in a set of 8 and when you eat it you'll wanna it a soup spoon because when you take a bite from it the delicious hot juice will come out and believe me you'll want to drink the juice. You should also try the spicy crispy chicken, according to yelp they call it crack chicken and once you take it you'll see why. Great service, people are super sweet and even better food! read more

Been craving dumplings since I went to Boston and ate at the "best dumping house in America" (it owned up by the way). Jeng Chi was delicious and almost just as good! We had egg rolls, green onion pancakes, egg soup, garlic tiger shrimp and rice and MY FAVORITE, pork and crab juicy dumplings. Everything was delicious, server was super nice and patient. Place was packed so always a sign of good food, will defiantly be back! read more

Since I was recommended to come here I haven't had a bad experience yet. Plenty of parking. An Asian bakery right next door. This place has large portions and usually pretty busy. I'd suggest reservations if you remember. The dumplings and Sweet & Sour Chicken are my favorites. However I'd pass on the egg rolls. read more

OK, wow, I've lived in Richardson for five years now and I cannot tell you how many times Jeng chi has been suggested to me. Honestly, I don't understand why people love it. It's just OK. The food was mediocre, the servers were helpful and polite but not stand out, and the prices are inflated for what you're getting. I'm willing to bet the soup dumpling craze was a boon to this business, and maybe not for the right reasons. I grew up between Honolulu and LA and maybe I'm a bit spoiled for Chinese food. It's good for Dallas, sure, but there's better options even within in this strip mall for taste, value, and service. Maybe it's the ambiance that people love? It definitely feels more upscale than its more greasy spoon neighbors, but the food has a little catching up to do to justify the reviews and prices. read more

Amazing place for food. Service is average and sometimes bad but the food is so good I over look and don't have expectations.

We love Jeng Chi. They have sweet and sour shrimp and it is gluten free and delicious! Also love their soups which mostly come in 3 sizes...so soup can actually be the meal. Love the hot and sour! All wait staff are great. read more

I do not understand how this place has such high reviews. For starters, we got sat down and cannot pass the lack of service they provide. All of the servers would walk by and just stare. But apparently they had enough time to straighten soy sauce bottles on empty tables than to take our order let alone take our drink order. Nice environment but no point if you can't be served. read more

Me and my family like the food but hate the service. Rude and the glasses are dirty. The dumplings and wonton soup are really good! We also like the orange chicken. read more

SO many choices, great service, and beautiful venue. Their fresh made dumplings are amazing!

Great dim sum. Love the onion pancakes. Reasonable prices and good service. Highly recommended and with the location a progressive dinner is almost guaranteed. read more

This place is not hype. This is legitimately the real deal. There is nothing like it. It isn't fast food garbage Chinese food. It's Asian grandma in the back taking her time and making awesome food Chinese food. There has not been one time that I came here and had bad food. You can't go wrong with any of the juicy dumplings. It took me a while to figure out how to eat them. The secret is putting them on the soup spoon, biting a small hole in them and either drinking the juice out of them or dumping the juice into the spoon and drinking it off the spoon. Then you finish the rest with chopsticks. the onion pancakes, bomb. The orange chicken, forget about it. So crunchy and tasty, with real orange. I can't get enough. Fried rice is also delish. I have had the duck, marinated eggs, several soups, all of it amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you want to try it, come early because this place gets slammed, and for good reason. read more

It's a bit expensive for the food. It's tasty and sometimes takes a bit to come out. Service is always pleasant and friendly. The menu can be overwhelming if you aren't prepared! read more

I love the xiaolongbao. They taste almost identical to the ones I had in Taipei's Din Tai Fung. The wait staff is always kind and helpful. They make great menu recommendations. read more

Disappointed after reading all the great reviews. Green beans were fantastic! Spicy dandan noodles left my husband wanting. Lamb in cumin sauce was tasty, but I have had much better. Wine list was meh. Service was ok. read more

1 word describes my experience, DISAPPOINTED. Taste C ; I've been to Houston for Taiwanese food. No comparison. Food quality D ; General Tso would have been embarrassed. re-fried, leftover chicken Portion size C ; where's the shrimp? Case of the missing shrimp in shrimp fried rice. Same for the beef noodles. Where's the beef? Price C ; A bit high for what you get Service C ; Waiter did not understand order, got broccoli dish instead of beef broccoli, never came back to check on food after it was delivered. The 4 star reviews have me confused. Boy did i make a mistake. I did not try the dumplings. Maybe that is the more consistent item on the menu. But those items looked/smelled average to me (when i had a glance at a neighboring table). I recommend the mgmt focus on food quality and portion size. read more

Really angry over this experience. $98 dollars take out. Waited 22 minutes nearly an hour from the drive to pick up. Mushu pork they didn't PUT THE SAUCE IN THE BAG and NO CRAPES?!)$&@$()!?/$&@)( The HOT AND SOUR was just HOT?!$&&(??? The chicken in the Crispy Spicy Chicken was burned?!)$$@&&)$ THE PHONE LINE has been BUSY for over two hours)$@&&$$ Can't complain so let's hit them with a truly bad review. When I was there to pick up my family's food they said they were sorry they had a big graduation party in because that their service was not as good as it should've been! I don't effing care get my order right get everything where it needs to be don't over cook my food you sure can add me on sausages and crapes which makes the Mushu pork effing garbage! This pisses me off I hate paying for food that is bad!?()$&$&@) not sure where all these wonderful reviews come from this was my first time there and it was an utter disappointment and I will never ever go back again ever I do not have $98 to piss away on bad food. There are too many other restaurants deserving that offer better service and better food and that don't disconnect their numbers in the middle of the night by not hanging read more

This place serves authentic Chinese food and it's among the best I've had in DFW. My favorite dishes here are the Siu Long Bao (they call them Juicy Steamed Dumplings) and Green Onion Pancakes, which I think are far ahead of the competition in this area. The buns are perfectly sized with a decent amount of soup. It goes excellently with the vinegar sauce that's mixed with julienne ginger. The green onion pancakes are a little different that the ones I'm normally used to as they are extremely thick (it almost had the same consistency as ciabatta bread) but the aroma and flavor were still all there. They are extra crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside..just the way I like it! I almost want to say that I like this variation of the famous Taiwanese dish better than the traditional way of preparing it thin. You may also want to give the Ma Po Tofu a shot. The tofu is soft and the ratio with the minced pork is right on. Overall, you're going to get a great bang for your buck here. Lunchtime on the weekends are crazy and you're probably going to find yourself waiting if you don't get there before 12pm. Also, this place is BYOB but they will charge 50 cents per glass. read more

The greatness of this place can not be overstated.. authentic doesn't begin to explain this place. The steamy pot stickers are life changing as is every other dish I would recommend the King Pao chicken, the fish, and the tofu read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas - I take every out-of-town visitor here and they are always blown away. My go-tos are the green onion pancake as an appetizer (crispy, fluffy fried and flavorful perfection) and the steamed chicken dumplings (delicious, tender and juicy perfection) as an entree. There's something about how simple yet well-executed the dishes are here. I have been a patron for three years now and I will continue to be for as long as I live in Dallas! read more

Came here for lunch with my mother on a weekday. The restaurant wasn't very busy as there were only a few other patrons there. We ordered a beef noodle soup and soup dumplings. The noodle soup was OK, but having lived in NYC, it just doesn't compare. And the soup dumplings too. They were a bit dry and in honesty, I think over priced for the quantity and quality you get. The egg custards tarts aren't too bad, but not enough to have us come back again. read more

Love this place. Been there a few times now and each time the service and food have been excellent. Noodles made by hand, a wide variety of dishes, fast service and very good wait staff. Oh, and they have a full bar with great cocktails. What's not to like! read more

The best dumplings and friendly service. This place is also really consistent in both.

Dallas dumplings has such a nice ring to it. Why is it that in Dallas you cannot actually get a good dumpling? There are plenty of decent chinese restaurants, a seemingly large Chinese population, yet the dumplings fall short wherever you go. Jeng Chi is supposed to be the king of the soup dumpling in Dallas, yet they are below average at their best. If "juicy" is in your name you better pack some serious broth explosion. I'm thinking the Kool-aid jug guy breaking through a brick wall and soup splashing everywhere in your mouth. Jeng Chi's juicy dumpling is like a leaking radiator hissing and smoking and all dry inside beneath the steam. OK in fairness there is a wisp of juciness but that's it. My dream is to win the lottery and steal the Nan Xiang dumpling ladies from Flushing NY and move 'em down here to Dallas to open a real soup dumpling restaurant. I'm bringing aunts and uncles, nephews, nieces and the white boyfriends trying to hit on 'em and all down to Dallas if that's what it takes to get them here. Enough ranting...you can get a decent (three star) green onion pancake here, and the crispy spicy chicken was strangely addictive to me, but I won't be back. I shoulda listened to my SO who refused to go back to JC despite my repeated pleadings to give them another try --I mean it had been like 4 years since we came out here. Alas, my secret return mission confirmed she was right as usual and I shouldn't have wasted my time again. read more

If your in Dallas this is the BEST PLACE TO GET CHINESE FOOD! If your in LA or SF..... still up there! They have a fish dish that is fantastic. I am not too sure what it is called because I forget the chinese words for it. But basically you can tell them fish with tofu and it is spicy. And did i tell you it was fantastic? The dried bean curd with pork is also awesome... just writing this make me hungry... doh! read more

I ordered a tira misu cake from Jeng Chi for my daughters birthday last weekend. The cake was an hour late, was dry, undercooked in some places, over in others....... the cake wasn't soaked or glazed in espresso liquor, or espresso or anything. Imagine dry white cake with whipped cream covered in cocoa powder.......tasted nothing like a tira misu. What a complete disaster. Not to mention the proprietor of this facility was present at the birth of my daughter 14 years ago and sees her from time to time. What an insult to her, her guests and to his own facility. I spent $50 on something no one could eat..... I could have done a better job with an easy bake oven. Most disappointing cake ever. Thanks Jeng Chi for the expense and insult. Your quality haas really gone down hill. :( read more

Excellent food quality. VERY slow service. Everything we ordered was excellent. Probably the best egg drop soup I've had. Only issue we had was the speed of service. Don't come here for a work week lunch unless you have at least an hour and a half. Took a long time for anyone to acknowledge us after we sat down.... And took over 15 minutes to get our checks after we were done eating. We even told our server to just split everything evenly, so she didn't have to itemize. One side of the restaurant was full, but the side we were on was almost empty... Not sure what the reason was for all the delays. read more

The soup dumplings are ok. Not enough soup because the dumplings are small. And tried the Kung Pao tofu and was so disappointed. Way too greasy, not much flavor and they went overboard on the peanuts. We wanted to try something new. Oh well. Now we know what NOT to order. The green onion pancakes did not have much green onions, mostly batter. Say what? Disappointed with that as well. read more

I LOVE dumplings and out of all the places I've been to, this is the best bang for your buck. Don't go to pseudo asian, fusion, american replicas for dumplings. Most places you'll get 5 for 6 bucks. This place? 12 for about 5 bucks and 10 for about 5 if you want pot stickers. The end. read more
