Well, Jen is no mere 'nail technician' nor is she 'some girl who does my nails', no dear, she is one of the most talented NAIL ARTISTS this little world has ever seen. The masterpieces she creates on my hands is ridiculous. Not to mention, I'm nonstop getting compliments from strangers who ask to see my nails but grab for my hands before I even have the chance to form my mouth into the answer yes. I love how after my first appointment (which was more like hanging out with a girlfriend than an appointment) Jen already comes up with new ideas for my set because she's so in tune with her craft and my tastes. The 3 hours I spend with Jen is awesome, she makes me feel like more than a customer, she makes me feel at home and like a friend she's catching up with. Jen actually just moved here to Tsu Salon and is the only "nail technician", which I can only imagine after the regular salon clients see Jen's work, they're going to want appointments too. I haven't been a regular of Jen because I live far. But out of my experience with Jen, she is amazing! She usually takes up 3 hours to do my nails because she is extremely patient and paid extraordinary attention to make sure everything comes out PERFECT; and it does!!! I usually get my nails done by Jen for special occasions and I have by far got sooooo much compliments about my nails by Jen! Jen is super nice, and she guides you through the color and design decision making process so that it comes out just like what you want, maybe more! Yes, the reviews are true: Jen is good at what she does...when you can reach her. I've gone to Jen three times and each time, there is a new reason as to why she is unacceptably late to your confirmed appointments. I tolerated this unprofessional behavior since it was a friend's recommendation, but there can only be a certain amount of patience. Yelper, Rae S., below is very correct in regards to customer service. It can take up to days for her to respond to your messages, but the funniest thing is that with the power of technology, your smart phone will tell you when your message has been read. Keep in mind, reading does not mean instant reply. Her work? Yes, she is talented, which is why I give her the extra star. However, her talent lies only in the design. The other reviewers are spot on when they compliment that Jen is very detailed and will take her time to design the style you are looking for, but is the quality up to par? Not really. I guess it isn't really noticeable when you have distracting complex designs, but when you go for simple designs, it becomes very hard to condone. One would assume that the longer she takes, the better the outcome.. Again, since this was a referral, I let many aspects slide, but tonight was undoubtedly the experience that pushed all limits. I understand and respect that she has another job; I even try my best to accommodate to her busy schedule (though I'm the customer). At my last appointment with her, Jen put an extension on one of my nails. Again, the design was excellent, but quality was not. The extension cracked a few days later. With my full-time job, weekends are my only availability so I was willing to do a 10 PM appointment on a Saturday night. As always, she was late - I expected this. What I did not expect was the avoidance of my calls/texts after waiting outside in the cold for 40 minutes. The minimum professional etiquette would be to send a quick text over either confirming that she will be late or canceling altogether. To this minute, I have yet to receive either. Not even an apology. I have been in the customer service based industry for over 10 years, and this is the first time I have witnessed the service provider pulling a no-show instead of the customer. The pictures of the broken nail with the black tip and the text message is what I am referring to. Again, notice that top of the message says this person was last seen online an hour after my last message to her. If the pictures are deleted, well, I don't have any additional comments. If you're on a budget, Jen is recommended, but keep expectations to a minimum. read more

1 Star is based on customer service. Probably the worst customer service experience Ive ever had. I left multiple texts and even called (kinda felt like a creeper) with no avail. Flat out no response. I was anxious to try Jens services due to her pictures and raving reviews, but due to poor customer service and not receiving a single call or text back I went somewhere that actually responded to my call! read more

Jen is by far the BEST nail artist I've ever had! I've had my nails done at many different places but no one has ever made my nails look as fabulous as Jen's nail designs. If you're looking for something more creative and intricate than your typical manicures, then Jen is the girl to go to. she is very talented and always seem to know what to do for your nails when you have no idea what you want. she is also a very sweet person, very easy to talk to and will take time to design your nails and make sure you walk out satisfied. I'm into the cute, sparkly, japanese nail designs. In the past Jen has designed cupcakes, hello kitty, flowers, hearts, stars and bows on my nails. I've recently started trying the soft gel that she recommended...and I absolutely love it! Not only does the gel last long, it's also less damaging compared to acrylics. My nails lasted for nearly two months! (yeah i know, I was too lazy to take them off..also kinda didn't want to because it still looked so good!) As for the price, it all depends on what kind of designs you get. Her prices are very reasonable, considering that she uses alot of high end nail supplies that she ordered from Japan and Taiwan. She has her own nail station at a salon and she goes by appointments only. If you want to get your nails done, I suggest you call her to book an appointment ASAP because she gets booked up fast! All in all, Jen is trustworthy, talented, and she does AMAZING WORK. It's hard to find someone who does such amazing nail art like her in LA. To be honest I was a little hesitant to even write this review because I didn't wanna share my favorite nail girl with the Yelp world! haha. The good reviews are no lies. Jen is amazing! I love how patient and detailed she is when she does my nails. I also love how i can look up a design over the internet and she'll do her best in giving me what I'm looking for. The quality of her work is stunning and the price she charges is ridiculously reasonable. At other nail salons, it seems like they charge for every little stone/color/detail they put into the design...BUT NOT JEN! She really cares about her customer's satisfaction and will go out of her way to make her customers happy. Jen does have a job somewhere else so make sure to text her in advance! I booked an appointment with her one week in advance to make sure the timing will be perfect for the both of us. I would recommend that when you make an appointment with her, to also try and not be in a rush. I've spent two hours with Jen before in my nail session due to the complicated design that I was looking for and her perfectionist tendency. I personally don't mind and always leave with a huge smile on my face. I get so many compliments from people! Keep in mind that Jen is a master at designs and nail art. I would not recommend her to someone who is simply interested in a basic mani/pedi. If you're looking for that, there are plenty of local nail salons who will fulfill your needs. read more

She is really hard on herself, so every nail comes out to be absolutely AMAZING, and the most important is she cares about her customer's nails' health! I used to have a bad habit - I always bite my nails unconsciously when I am working on something. Then I found Jen Ko Nails on Facebook, which I am glad to find Jen, she started off saving my nails by wrapping them up in nude acrylics, then after she has been nurturing my nails using cal-gel. Now, my nails are healthy, my nails grow fast and strong, and my nails' shape and nails' bed are growing very beautiful! Since then I have been going to Jen every 3 to 4 weeks to change a nail style. Jen is also super nice and fair and she charges a fair price too, unlike some nail stores - charging with some crazy price! Jen is awesome, like a reviewer said she can really fix your nails accordingly even if you bite your nails. she doesn't use nail tips and only uses forms for acrylics, and also uses bio sculpture and calgel which is much better for your nails compared to other cheaper gel brands. she also uses swarovski rhinestones, and doesn't skimp at all.
