Truthfully, I did not have high hopes for Jelly, especially since most of the Denver restaurants I've visited were nothing to write home about although they have good reviews....plus I feared the dreadful threat of wait time. However, the wait wasn't bad at all (30 minutes for table of two). SERVICE: the service is excellent! Hostesses, waiters, and waitresses are super duper friendly. FOOD: My wife didn't like the breakfast burrito since the sauce was a too intense and the seasoning was subpar; but the veggie Benedict with poached eggs were AMAZING!!! ATMOSPHERE: good but conversational, meaning loud....but that's okay since it is a cafe after all; the crowd is a capital hill mix of generation Xers and Millennials. We will be back! read more

We had breakfast here for the second time today. I'd recommend checking in on yelp, it saved us a 30 minute wait. It's super crowded and almost claustrophobic inducing but the food is so good, it's worth the suffering through. The food is all made from scratch and you can tell the chef that creates the dishes really cares about quality and unique flavor. The first time we went I got the pancakes special (can't remember exact flavor), I do remember it was delicious. Today I got the haco chili Benedict. It was so good. The texture of the biscuit was perfect, the eggs were perfectly poached... it was all around yummy. The decor is cute and retro and the staff is friendly and attentive. By far my favorite breakfast place in Denver! Service is friendly and fast, and I highly recommend trying the breakfast burrito with green chili. Be warned though it does get crowded on weekends, so definitely get on the Yelp waitlist as soon as you decide to head over. read more

I'm not a huge brunch person but the donuts are what brought me here. First and foremost, the donuts. They're awesome yeasty like donuts with a lot of bite and chew to them so i was in love after first bite. Yes, the donuts are not "filled" the fillings are on the outside so beware of that. I'd pass on the thai peanut but get a gajillion lemon and jelly donuts. Omg i think of those every single weekend. Aside from the donuts we tried the lavendar blueberry pancakes which it's nice you can order them by the pancake! I had a basic breakfast so i wouldn't be too stuffed and it was the perfect amount. The friggin rustic potatoes are something you cannot pass up! Hearty enough but not overwhelming. The wait is long on the weekends so make sure to come early. Be patient it's worth the wait! This was a cute little café of which I really enjoy the personality and Decour. There is an obvious breakfast theme with 80s cereal box cartons posted along the wall. There is also outdoor seating on the side, but your view will inevitably be of homeless people. So that is something to consider. The menu had a very cool design and was very clear and easy to understand. They had numerous items it sounded unbelievable and we decided to go with two individual pancakes (lemon poppy, and blueberry) as well as a few of the donut holes, and then we shared some egg whites and fresh fruit. Everything was absolutely delicious and nice portions. Upon sitting down our server seems to have a band and us until after we get some water another server came up to us asking if we had ever been attended to. When she found out we had not she graciously took our order but then it still took a while for the free to come and I wasn't really sure who our actual server was which was kind of confusing. I heard they had been featured on the food Nework; I was a bit surprised but the Food Network likes quirky looking hipster places because they look great on tv. I have eaten here before and was sorely disappointed but its been a few years. So, i gave it a go. Again. I started with the donut holes. Who can mess up a donut? The creme englaise was good i had hopes for the lemon but it had a clumpiness to it (see the pics). Next, I moved onto the breakfast burrito, which was what the Food Network focused on. The chorizo chili on top was ok. I like spicy chorizo...where did they find non seasoned chorizo is my question. Bland. There was a lot of eggs in the burrito! The pulled pork was good but a little on the cool side. Overall it was a 5 outta 10, - not bad but stellar- middle of the middle of the road...but it's cheap and i think thats the appeal from the guy or two I spoke with at the counter. The waitstaff was very attentive and on the coffee service! Now back to the coolness of the food. I feel this has been an issue with this estblishment from before. I observed that they have a kitch door that leads to the alleyway. This allows for the food to get cold. Stir the food before you serve it or shut the door. Alas, they seem to constantly be plagued with various kitchen issues...or so one of their kitchen staff said to me. He said more but i dont want to talk outta turn. My wife and I were visiting Denver for our anniversary, and we saw that Jelly was listed as a top breakfast/brunch spot. We had just finished hiking Red Rocks and decided to pop in for breakfast on the way back to our Airbnb. When we walked in, the place was packed, but there were a few open spots at the counter, so we sat there. We started with a couple of coffees, which were great. I'm not sure what roaster they use but it was pretty good. My wife ordered the corned beef hash and I ordered the ultimate biscuits and gravy. Both were fantastic! My only complaint was that I asked for no sour cream on my plate and I got it anyway. It's not an allergy thing for me, so I just ate around it. The guy working the counter did offer to make me another, but it's fine. We ordered donuts to go, which probably would have been better fresh, but they were still excellent. We would definitely come back next time we're in the area, top notch breakfast place, with friendly people and fun decor. read more

Came for breakfast and did not leave disappointed at all! I had the fresh pressed orange juice which is a must if you're having breakfast. I had a big appetite so I had the corned beef hash and I was most definitely the best hash I've ever had! It came with eggs and toast of your choice. My girlfriend had the avocado caprese toast and loved it. The onions made it amazing! The service was also very fast and friendly! This is a review solely for their donut holes! I was highly recommended by my friend who lives in the area to come by and grab some donut holes and take them to-go. The price is a good deal as it's not too pricey at all. I love how you can mix and match the flavors to your liking. My favorites were the lemon filled and the jelly filled just because I like those inherently but they both could've used more filling on the inside. The maple bacon was also pretty good. Also, because I took the donuts to-go and walked another 10-15 minutes or so with them in the cold, they definitely got a bit harder than had I ate them at the restaurant. Regardless, the actual dough is pretty standard. Still, these are definitely a cute snack to savor yourself or share with someone. read more

I also ordered a coffee because well, it was 8:30 and I needed SOMEthing. Unfortunately, there were no cute boys in the vicinity to kiss... but the coffee was yum as well. (And refills!) I highly recommend using the online waitlist. Expect an hour wait so spend some time at home then wait with a mimosa from the bar. This place is pretty great! The ambiance is cute and fun and the food is good. The wait can be long so I think they try to crank out of the food pretty quick. If you enjoy more well done eggs and things in general you should be sure to state that in your order. Our scramble was a little on the easy side but other than that all flavors were good. I decided to grab "brunch" here with a friend today. I will say it was very hipster popping. It has a nice location, street parking isn't the best but you can always Uber/Lyft. Pros: -Good customer service. -Cute ascetics. -Comfortable booths. Cons: -Food took a little while, but honestly I was starving so this isn't really a con and more a lack of breakfast on my part. -I would not consider this place a brunch spot. Now the food was good! I couldn't eat the potatoes because they tasted very soapy and were doused in whipped cream and that wasn't on the menu (maybe that's an American thing). It felt a little odd considering I was eating a breakfast food meal, with random lunch potatoes. Which I'll say why it felt not so brunch. There was a divided menu of breakfast and lunch. I've never seen that. I'd recommend this place to a few people but honestly just for the vibe, not to impress someone like a brunch date or someone from out of town. I was lucky to come on a weekday morning and didn't have to wait. I saddled up to the bar with a friend and was taken care of by the super friendly Katie. She made awesome recommendations and took really good care of us. We started with a half order of the donuts. Holy crap. These things were awesome. I had one with a cream inside (creme anglaise maybe) and a cinnamon sugar. Super fluffy and light. So so good. I couldn't make the sweet/savory decision so I had a single slice of the cornflake crusted french toast and the Sweet Potato hash. Best time to come is a weekday morning, if you can do it anyway. That's when I usually go to Jelly Cafe--no wait and I can easily have a quick breakfast. Everyone knows about Jelly--I personally like it a bit more than Snooze, although both establishments have their pros and cons. What makes me giggly about Jelly though are the decorations and the donut bites. Mmm! The vintage cereal boxes always amuse me; sometimes I sit there and just stare at a particular box, wondering when the cereal was around (e.g., when did the Barbie cereal happen? Was I even born then?). You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast items on the menu: an omelet, some benedict, or just a big breakfast plate. Food is always delicious no matter if I go with something vegetarian or chockful of meat. This place is super cute, delicious and totally awesome! I love the vintage cereal boxs on the wall... Mr. T had a cereal? Who would havr known! It was my birthday so I ordered a massive meal! I had their special potatos which had delicious caramelized onions... and I also ordered their frosted flake banana pancakes.... yum! I love mushy bananas... huge fan of warm sweet bananas and these pancakes were melt in yer mouth delicious. The gals there were super sweet and even gave me some jelly filled warm donut bites when they heard it was my b-day! This place is totally my new favorite breakfast spot and I love that its in my neighborhood! Jelly blends in with the hip trendy punk rock/rockabilly vibe that 13th ave has and I'm a fan! I really liked the people and the atmosphere when I called in. Then as soon as I get there parking is difficult, there is 3 hobo camps around the building. They are too worried about mask and covid19 to pay attention to your dietary needs. I ended up getting really sick because the cooks mask was in the way of his eyes and he couldn't see to properly make my food. I wasn't offered to have my food replaced or reimbursed for them purposely poisoning me. So as long as your heathy and happy don't have any special needs and have ample mask. This is the place for you. Edit. And per the owners response, they don't care how nasty it is outside or the food allergens people have. They will serve good ingredients whether you will go into an allergic shock or not. Rofl how is that safe when you poison people on purpose?! I don't think you honestly reply with good intent. What a gem of a diner! While visiting Denver we were recommended Jelly Cafe as it was walking distance from our AirBnb. I loved the kitschy vibe, the service was on point & all items ordered delicious- so much so that we returned the next morning for breakfast as well. Both mornings I ordered the basic egg breakfast, enjoyed the accompanying dollop of sour cream & sprinkling of chives on the potatoes. It was my birthday weekend so I had to ~treat myself~ to the donut bites (cinnamon sugar & caramel) the first morning and the cinnamon roll pancake the second. While the donut bites were good the cinnamon roll pancake was unbelievable, lord have sweet sugary mercy. I've never eaten so slowly in my life, I never wanted that little devil to end! Side note: Both mornings we had the pretty, black-haired blunt bobbed girl. We obviously stuck out like non-natives in our Bronco gear but both mornings she was excellent as well as the rest of the service staff. We ordered the Thai chili and mexican chocolate donuts. Thai chili was so good! Regular coffee was good but americano was pretty awful. They had very few decaf options. Lavender blueberry pancake was fantastic. My husband got the breakfast burrito, the bite I had was amazing. But he thought it needed some kind of sauce. I got the harvest hash, I loved the variety of vegetables in it. But it needed some kind of sauce as well. read more

It's nice that there's still a place that serves bottomless mimosas, even if it's only on the weekdays. Food is always solid here, though the biscuits could be a bit softer. Your service charge is misleading. At least give an explainer as to why it's on there rather than having your poor waitstaff have to explain it.
