I don't normally go online to look for contractors, but we didn't seem to readily find a tile contractor for our kitchen backsplash. I came upon reviews for Johnathan while I was looking. His reviews were topnotch, and furthermore, everyone was impressed with his character also. We usually get 3 bids whenever we need a contractor. In this case, once we met Johnathan, we knew we didn't need to look any further. Not only was he fun, it was apparent he took pride in his craft, and his honesty was obvious. He also gave us some very good advice as to when to do what, and his price was very fair. As we have waited 20 years to change the kitchen to our liking, it was important that we love it. I had some ideas about the size of tiles I was looking for. He tried to explain that we wouldn't have enough of a pattern with what I was looking to do. Poor Johnathon. We went with our idea, and once we had the materials, it became obvious he was so right. He didn't lose patience with this nervous customer even when the new turn of events was a surprise to him when he came to work the next day. He graciously went into the next design with us and worked with us with good humor and grace. The day he had to re-order and come back another day, I apologized profusely. His sweet response was that it was a nice day, and now he could go home and mow his lawn. Johnathan is a consummate professional. Our backsplash came out beautifully. He also does flooring and vanity tops. Johnathan is prompt with his communications. He cares about the finished product as if it was for his own home. One of the best things about having Johnathan in the house was having fun getting to know this truly quality human being. His high standards are not only reflected in his craft; his life reflects trustworthiness and honesty, and what more could you want in someone working in your home? We highly recommend him. Johnathan recently completed a full bathroom re-model for us. He is a one man business, so we had to wait for an opening in his schedule, but it was worth it. The project entailed replacing a shower that was leaking when we moved in, installing a new bathtub, and granite counter tops. Shower: When the shower was removed, due to leaking on the previous owner, there was a tremendous amount of dry-rot. Lucky for us the main support beams were in good condition. Johnathan had to replace the floor, and rebuild a wall (non-load bearing). After that he made a custom shower pan, and and tiled everything. Bathtub: The old bathtub was small and useless, we wanted a nice usable soaker tub. Johnathan built a new tub frame, and installed in the new tub, and tiled everything. Granite Counter Tops: Re-enforced old cabinets, cut the counter tops to fit, with difficult sinks to install. Johnathan worked diligently throughout the project. He always made sure I knew what hours he was coming, he worked around my family (two little ones make home improvement projects interesting) his work is exceptional, and he is honest. One last note: We had a problem with our new shower leaking. Johnathan came out the same day to inspect the issue. Once the problem was identified, he took two days out of his schedule and corrected it. It was nice to have someone who actually stood behind their work. We will be using him again. read more

I have waited so many years to be able to complete my hall bathroom project. I had no real clue of what I really wanted. I could not be any happier about how everything turned out! Jonathan installed the tile in my laundry room and bathroom (floor and shower walls). Awesome, awesome job. I though at one time about doing the job myself but Jonathan gave me such a good deal on the price and it came out so good that I was super happy in the end. Jonathan recommended we talk to Karen at Emser tile in Motown when we were choosing the tile color/ style/ size and all that and she was super cool too. Point is that Jonathan is a professional at what he does and associates with other professionals to get it exactly right.
