I had a water line which feeds the ice maker break and cause my hardwood floors to cup in my kitchen. The hardwood floors run continuous throughout the main level so the entire main level flooring had to be sanded and refinished. I got 4 floor quotes and Step Above Flooring had the best price and value. They did a beautiful job refinishing the floors and were very professional. I then had a separate contractor reinstall the furniture and this contractor damaged the newly refinished floors. I hired Step Above to come back and fix the floors and they again look good as new. read more

Went to the store to purchase flooring and have them do the installation of it. Met with the sales man Michael H. he made the appointment with us to to check out the space and bring the two samples we wanted. On the day of the appointment he confirmed the appointment with us. That afternoon he was a no show and did not have the courtesy that day to call us and tell us he couldn't make it. The next day he called and said he forgot about the appointment, then he said he was busy with another customer, then he wanted to make another appointment with us, after you just flaked out with B.S. excuses, absolutely not. If this is how the salesman is going to represent this business I would be very careful for anyone to do business there. I would not recommend this salesman to anyone. read more

I do not recommend A step above flooring, they were very unprofessional, they put hardwood flooring on my staircase and hallway. They cut to short the wood, they cut short my carpet it was a nightmare. When we call to complain they came after two months they try to fix it their way, on my stairs instead of removing the short wood they just painted that part brown , it is terrible. We recently had A Step Above replace 25-year-old carpet in our house with engineered wood in high traffic areas and carpet in other areas. I dealt with Fred, Jr. and he quickly convinced me that he knew what he was doing and would advise me properly so that we would be satisfied with the end result. His quote covered all contingencies, His people were professional and very competent. The work was done with a minimum of inconvenience to us, and cleanup was excellent. Our house flooded and we had to have our laminate floor replaced, our insurance restoration contractor uses Step Above. Long story short, it was a terrible experience, unbelievable sloppy work that had to be redone and charged our ins twice the amount we spent having Lowes do the same job just 9 months prior. And it took 10 weeks to finish the job! Overall the floor looks good but not without a lot of complaints. "Step Below" is a more fitting name. read more

For months we had been trying to decide on the right floor for our 75-year-old home. We looked in various showrooms, and went back and forth about the pros and cons of all the different products out there. We wanted it to look classic and vintage, but it seemed like there were drawbacks to just about everything. Finally, one day we stopped at A Step Above Flooring. We explained our problem to Alex, and he was "hands on helpful" without being the least bit pushy. It didn't take us long to settle on Armstrong Premium Tile. All we had to do was choose the pattern. Alex encouraged us to take several grouted tile samples home, and "live with them" and look at them in different light. While we had the samples at our house I poured a cup of coffee and a glass of wine on them and let them set overnight. The next morning the tile and grout wiped clean with plain water. We were sold! After that A Step Above made everything so easy for us. The cost was fair, and the installers did everything - rip out the old vinyl, put in a new sub floor and carefully place the new tiles for maximum variation. Steve and Mike were professional and polite, and they kept the work area clean and neat. Best of all, they started the project and finished it exactly when they promised. We are thrilled. I am walking around my beautiful new kitchen and I can't keep a smile from my face. This store has the right name - A Step Above! read more
