After shopping around and getting some quotes we went to Floor Trader and found exactly what we wanted at a great price. We went with Mohawk laminate planks that look like real wood. We dealt with Steve who was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. Their installer Richard Morris did a fantastic job by first leveling the cement slab perfectly before laying the floor. We appreciated his craftsmanship and work ethic. He's a very hard worker and a perfectionist. We're very happy with our finished product. read more

What a great experience with Steve at Floor Trader and the installation with Mike and his crew. It was so easy - picked out the floors, paid for materials then installation. Mike & his crew worked a Saturday to finish before Christmas. Beautiful floors, professional installation and reasonably priced. My house feels brand new. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! read more

The Floor Trader of Modesto - Baseboard and floor installed. Quality work! - Flooring Near Me - Modesto, California

We recently had the pleasure of working with Richard Morris to replace our second story carpet with laminate and replace the carpet on the stairs, and we couldn't be more impressed with the entire experience. He is very professional and the quality and precision of his work and attention to detail was very much appreciated. It's clear he takes strong accountability in his work. He communicated clearly and regularly, keeping us informed of progress and any minor adjustments along the way. A couple issues arose during the process and he did extra work he wasn't expecting. He also accommodated a schedule change that I needed. We truly appreciate him. If you're looking for a floor installer who is reliable, professional, and does an outstanding job, we highly recommend him. And The Floor Trader was great, they had many options (we shopped around) and they had the one product we needed. James was great to work with as well, easy and straight forward. All around friendly and helpful staff. read more

Fast courtesy service. Everyone was professional and on point. Out of the four quotes we got for our vinyl flooring, they were the nicest and least expensive. Mike and his install team were top-notch. 100%. read more

I'm given this Carpet store three stars. I've purchased tons of carpet here for years for multiple houses. I think the guy that runs it is very nice but so nice. It's kind of creepy because you know it's not genuine. The prices are no different than anywhere else and the selection is just like everywhere else ...: They have a few rows in stock that you could choose from ...take it or leave it and when you try to negotiate irrespective that your past customer, he'll just kindly say no ....I only go there because my wife likes to go there, but they are strange people disingenuous smiles, and disingenuous greetings just very odd. They are like relatives that you may have who are nice but when no one's around ...they are very rude to you. I typically get three quotes from three different carpet companies then it just comes down to what style I like that are sitting on the floor. carpets carpet to me at the end of the day. read more

This is my second review of the Floor Trader, almost 10 years later and the service, pricing and quality is still top notch. We were looking for new floors in our entire house and Lisa and James were awesome in helping us pick quality products that look amazing and fit our price range. They have SO MUCH to choose from you can't go wrong starting here for your flooring project, no matter your taste or budget. When it came to installation, Rich and Matt did an amazing job. They were professional, prompt, knowledgeable and got the job done ahead of schedule. It turned out that we had a much bigger tile removal project than anticipated, but they worked through it and got it done quickly and with very little mess. They also worked around my work from home schedule which was very much appreciated. Our floors look fantastic, they really are top notch in their craft. Thank you, James, Lisa, Rich & Matt for making our house look beautiful. read more

Morris Flooring went above and beyond, my floors had been prepped wrong so they came and fixed it and did not charge me extra for it even though I offered them payment for making right. They were also on time, neat, and very professional. Their prices were fair for the work that they did. I will for sure be using them again. -Art and Yolanda Villalovos read more

We had an awesome experience at Floor Traders, they have a great variety of different flooring at an affordable price. I may have forgotten the sales guys name but he was very knowledgeable and patient with us. My family and i were there until after closing hours finalizing our floors. I would like to highlight Richard Morris, the floor installer (he was referred to us by a neighbor friend that just got their floors done). Richard has made the whole transaction seamless from coming to my house to do the estimate, explaining the process at Floor Traders and to the in-home installation process. Richard really takes his time to walk you through the process and he makes the whole interaction personable. He is awesome at his craft and he insures that when he's done with the job he cleans up after himself. I didn't have any issues with him or his work. Because of Richard's expertise, Transparency and just a genuine human being (such as helping me move heavy furniture, which he didn't have to do), this is why I will always refer customers to him. Thank you Richard! read more

Lisa and her team are incredibly kind, informative and understanding. We initially had their team stop by our house and quote us but went with our neighbor who's a GC and purchased all the supplies here. He ended up getting Covid and the project was delayed but we were worried we wouldn't be able to return the extra items we made. Lisa told us if it's still in stock and boxes were unopened we wouldn't have a problem and 4 months later our floors were finish and we were able to return any unopened boxes. The selection wasn't as huge as other areas but they are family owned, communicative, and helpful. We found the service more valuable then saving a couple bucks somewhere else. It's a headache to do any renovation and they made our life so much better! We're coming back when we are ready to update my daughter's home. read more

We wanted to put the same wood flooring that we have throughout our downstairs in our Master bedroom, but they no longer had the flooring. It has been a few years. We also had carpet put in both upstairs guest bedrooms and it turned out beautiful as well. I would highly recommend Floor Traders in Modesto- they're amazing! read more

Just recently had our floors done with floor trader and couldn't be happier! I'm in love with our new flooring. We used their recommended installers and they did a great job! The whole process took about two months which was a bit long for someone impatient like me but it was worth the wait. And by a long process I mean we went in picked out flooring, then had to have floor trader come out and take their measurements, then we had to wait for a quote, then we had to make a deposit, then we finally got a date booked for the flooring to be installed so after all was said and done it was about two months later. We had our living room, kitchen, and hallway done. The installers showed up at 7:45 am and had the job done by 2pm. We will definitely be going back to floor trader for our next project! read more

Selection is good. The customer service at the store is informative and not overbearing. I had my downstairs floor done in laminate. I liked the efficiency and quickness of the supplier. The installation is a separate contractor the store provides. They sent a contractor named John Gomes. He came out to do the estimate for the labor. It was roughly the same amount as the laminate per square foot. There is an additional cost for the wall moulding installation. It would have been nice if they painted the mounding the same color as our walls especially since they actually painted the moldings. Now we have to repaint our walls or repaint the moulding. I would not recommend the installation. The work for installation was done very poorly. My entry doors were not shaved down so my door constantly jams against the flooring. I have to fight with the door daily and I jam my fingers sometimes. There was a section that they laid concrete to even out the floor and they did a bad job doing that because there is no gradual decline. They could have easily lengthened the concrete. The workers who came out to the house smoked and left their cigarette butts scattered around. They left our house a dusty mess when they were finally done. It took them an extra day to finish. For the cost of installation, I expected a professional result. The base moulding was scuffed you. There are spots where they cut the moulding too short. There is spot on the floor where the laminate does not extend to the wall so there is a hole in the flooring. I could list all the flaws in the installation but it becomes quite saddening to think that I wasted a lot of money. It costs roughly four to five thousand for this poor job. We even walked through with the contractor listing our concerns before the project even started. read more

Lisa Worley is the best. She was extremely helpful in helping me pick my carpet out. Their selection is overwhelming.

Great customer service. Lady that answered the phone was so nice and even nicer in person. Had a great selection of carpets and weee able to install it within the week. I also bought laminate flooring for another rental my worker was not crazy about the quality of that very brittle ends chipped a lot throughout project. However, I was really happy with my carpet and the price. Overall good experience just probably won't buy laminate again. read more

I went to several flooring stores to purchase laminate flooring for my new home. Not really knowing what to look for, I was quoted $14,000 in one place with a $400 delivery fee, other places didn't have the time for you, or didn't have a good selection. I was getting frustrated. I decided to check one more place, The Floor Trader. The second I walked in, I felt like I was in a candy store With huge displays. So much to choose from! The staff there is amazing! They actually gave us a lesson on flooring & what to look for. What the 5mm & 20 Mil meant and the types of padding built into the panels, etc. it was an eye opener & greatly appreciated. There was absolutely no pressure. I quickly made my selection but wasn't ready to buy. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. I visited the store several times & each time it was a great experience. I purchased the flooring I really wanted at 1/2 the cost & higher quality than the competitors and guess what??Only $60 for the delivery up to 10 miles! One of the competitors wanted to charge me $400 for delivery!! They are an honest company!! Thank you for your loyalty!!! read more

Very unsatisfactory work preformed. This is what it looked like when the job was finished. I called the store and sent pictures they said they would have someone come out to look at it. They didn't seem concerned with the way it looked and I never heard back from them. If you want your floor to look like this and don't want a call back this is your store. Update - I waited 5 days for a call back from you ( 7 days if you count to voice mail left ) and you didn't call back until after the yelp review. The installer had already been out 2x's to fix the flooring, of course I didn't want them back. Your store helped pick out flooring and knew it was for the laundry room and knew about the drain. Still unacceptable on all accounts. read more

The Floor Traders Installers ROCK!!! Wayne Taylor Richard Morris. They know what they are doing for sure. My adventure started the min I walked in the store. I got helped right away. From salesmen to the ladies at the desk. I walked out with the flooring material I wanted and told me I would get an installation date soon. They measured my home , ordered the materials and yesterday was the magic day. Richard and Wayne installed my living room and hallway with a beautiful floor. Theses two men were extremely nice , kind and a-lot of great personality. I felt like I've known them for a long time. I was so comfortable with them in my home. They went beyond what they had to do. They put felt pads for me on my furniture and moved my furniture before and after installation of the floor. I recommend them to do your job!!! Thanks again! read more
