I went to JCPenney the day before Valentine's Day and again on Valentine's Day while the store is closing for good, and the deals were honestly amazing. There were extremely deep discounts on a lot of good items. I spent about $200 and left with two large, completely full bags. Selection was still surprisingly good considering it was a store closing sale. Even with the store closing, staff was helpful and checkout was smooth. If you're nearby before it's gone, it's definitely worth stopping in for the clearance deals. read more

Nowadays the style is more traditional and old fashioned in certain aspects . It has great values in their dresses and other merchandise. We looked at some dresses past Saturday. We found some nicely designed summer dress . The materials are good with a sew in under dress . Patterns were modern and colorful. My friend paid $14 and $20 for two dresses . I got a LiZ Claiborne XBody handbag 60 % off to $23.99 . Also I found a belt that was listed as original price $28 . This nice sale lady Michelle F. Suggested me to apply JC Penny card , and enrollment of my e mail . Then my total purchase was taken off $71.01 . I only paid $ 18.73 for two items . Avoid paying another credit card bill , Michelle F . Also suggested that I paid the bill off at that moment . I did . I gave her $2O cash and received some changes. The store is packed with different types of merchandise. Clean and organized. Good customer service for Michelle F . to take her time to explain to me how my JC Penny account works and I had a big saving opportunity right there ! I haven't set foot in a JCPenney for 20+ years. In fact, I stayed away from it. I remember it being a low quality inventory. Well, the other day while shopping with my mama, she wanted to go look for 1 thing. Reluctantly, I schlepped along. Now, this review is for the Men's department only, I didn't browse the entire store. But blow me down. They have name brands like Levi's, Polo, Puma, and Adidas, but I fell in love with a brand called Mutual Weave. They have most everything a Macy's would have except high-end suits. I fell in love with a brand called Mutual Weave and ended up buying 2 jeans, and a henley, and cool flannel --- very pleased indeed. They had sales, which are great. But generally, I would say it's not cheap...it's fair priced. So, I won't be shy from now on...I've been re-introduced! read more

Placed an online order for curbside pickup for shampoo and conditioner. I received the items only to get home and find out the security seal on the shampoo had been tampered with. I called customer service only to be told they cannot ship shampoo expedited and the only solution was either a return and re-purchase with ground shipping or in-store pickup. NGL this is why amazon just works better, the customer service is real and solutions are easy. I now have to take more time out of my day to fix an error on their part and that what the best solution they could have come up with. read more

I could have easily purchased online, but if we had more JCPenney associates like Ulrikey (Stoneridge Mall, Pleasanton), I would definitely make more trips to the mall. I bought a gift for my wife. I thought I would save some money by using a new JC Penny credit card. This did not happen because I was charged a $41 late fee for not paying the first payment on time. When I found my way to the payment website after several unsuccessful attempts. I was able to make a payment including late fee. I don't remember receiving any statements from JC Penny until after the payment date had come and gone. read more

I went with my mother to JCPenney to simply buy a winter coat and ask for a refund on a soap she previously purchased. When she bought it there was a deal--3 handsoaps for $10. My mom only bought 1 soap out of that deal, not realizing that the store charged her $10 for just that 1 single soap. She asked a worker in the returns section, named Varsha, for a refund or at least to have 2 soaps given to her, but the woman told her that she "needed to pay attention more to the deals" and that she couldn't do anything about it even when my mom showed her the receipt. Incredibly unbelievable that a worker from a big chain COMPANY would blame the CUSTOMER for this. Dismayed with the treatment we received from this sales associate, we searched for a manager in hopes of getting refunded. Maria, the manager, came and we explained the situation after waiting around 10 minutes. Again, my mother was blamed for her purchase and many excuses were made, including issues with 'new hires' and then directly saying, again, to "pay attention when you're buying." They said they could not honor a deal that has already passed, but it's unbelievable that with the receipt, showing that my mom only bought ONE soap for TEN dollars, that even the manager would blame the customer for this. The proof was there, my mother was very nice about it, and all we got back was blame and rude attitudes. It's hand soap. IT'S HAND SOAP. We left anyway. What a petty thing to do when you work for a big company...we've never experienced such treatment, and we're extremely dissatisfied. I hope they sleep well tonight knowing they picked a battle over some damn hand soap. (Embarrassing!) Beware of this if you go to JCPenney at the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, CA, because they will do the exact same to you. read more

I have not being able to "warning Women" FactorTime, but I would like to prevent for my bad and yet waiting for my hair to grow since it happened. I went to JC Penney Salon in Stoneridge Mall to get done a touch up, they were really nice and this woman I remember her name Martha helped me it was my first time me going back because their prices for a touch up were too much, the first time with Martha was Great, the second touch up I'm not sure what she used but after she rinsed the color up there was a big circle on my scalp that my hair came off with the product she did use! She did not notice,I did she tried to tell me that she uses a new product JC Penney provided them to use, she felt really bad and tried to make me feel good but I was terrified for what happened they gave me all kind of examples she bought me a moisturizer with tea tree oil to apply on the area that seems to be burned really bad. Please be careful it happened to me last year proximally last October 2021 and I still don't see new hair growing back. Please be careful and check before to let anybody to apply hair solutions. I only came here because I had a gift card. My customer "service" was absolutely atrocious and I will never be back. First when I go to pay for my jeans it's like I am an inconvenience for said person. Store 03889 terminal for 13 transaction 2721 associate number 0 6 5 7. You are the rudest person I've ever come across! A purchased some Levis skinny jeans that said they were on sale for $29.95 she told me know that those are never that cheap and I grabbed the wrong ones and I could go back. Seriously? I went back and I took a picture of the price and she doesn't even apologize and then asks her associate to override and then they do it on the wrong amount of $29.55 now I know that doesn't matter but get your product knowledge straight and get your prices straight. One can tell this chain isn't doing so well. In the years since I've been here (over a decade ago), the amount of employees to help have dwindled incredibly. Finding someone to fix a price check machine, ask a question, or check inventory is very tricky and challenging. Often, there are 4 employees on the main floor with one always near the jewelry section. Unfortunately, the jewelry employee won't bother to help unless you're buy from him/her/. What really makes shopping here frustrating for me on this last visit is the wait during a time where there's hardly anyone shopping. I was one out of maybe a dozen shoppers. I was able to find some shirts I wanted to try on and then had to search for a clean changing room to try on the items. Once I got that all done, the one cashier I found in the section I was at was swamped by a woman returning items over a year old. While granted it's not her fault that she got overwhelmed by said customer, it's the lack of another cashier to handle the small line. It took over 45 minutes to get to the counter after this poor cashier returned what she could and helped the few others in front of me. Customer service, including having employees to help and make the shopping experience memorable in a positive light, is what combats against the online stores. If a person walks in and feels served and helped, that is how loyalty and return shoppers happen. It's not always about prices. Maybe this site will review that idea and change some of its staffing policies. read more

I want to give the Home Store at 5582 Springdale Rd some love. I have purchased all of my blinds here, and been very happy with the results. Recently I needed 2 solar shades for my West facing windows...and their online price was phenomenal, 50% off an already good price. I followed their measuring instructions, and had them sent to the store. 6 days later, my shades were in. Installation was perfect (thanks dear) and we are now protected from the afternoon sun. Hubby also bought his new (yes, every 5 years ;-) summer wardrobe in the men's department at the mall...prices again could not be beat. read more

What?! Wow! Wowza! What is goin' on with JCPenney's? I haven't been in here for years, I mean YEARS. But when I walked in, it did not feel and look the same as what I remembered it to be. -No longer are the dowdy clothing sadly hung on the racks. -No longer does it look like my grandma's grandparents should be shopping here. -No longer does it feel cheap, uninspiring and drab. What happened? The new CEO is taking leaps and bounds in turning JCP into a fresh, hip, chic, youthful, fun, but still conservative department store. And the brands are different now too. JCP signed HIP designers to sell their products here. I'm amazed... truly amazed at what this department store has transformed into. Brands that you should not miss: 1) Joe Fresh 2) Mngo 3) JCP 4) Liz Clairborne 5) Sephora 6) Jonathon Adler Prices are reasonable. I'm always treasure hunting on the clearance racks but if I must, buying at full price doesn't damage the wallet strings too much either! And that just makes for a happy shopper :) Things are changing and its changing for the good of shoppers. read more

In March 2021 I ordered blinds for the bedroom. They arrived in about two weeks even though they said six weeks. Even though Penney's looks like it's on its last leg they still were able to help me with ordering window coverings and getting them here early. And this window coverings were better quality than the ones they sell at Costco made out of vinyl. read more

Desireee very slow as a cashier. Nikki who is working shoes next to her was helping with register to allow other employees to go on break. Mkkki also said she would help with crowd control as well as checkout so that Desiree didn't have to get in trouble. I'm assuming for people who write reviews like me. Mikki in the shoe section and helping checkout at the salon on thanksgiving day was doing amazing. She did great and was a great employee. Hope she doesn't have to cover for Desiree often. Not sure where the other cash register girl was, mikki seemed to have to take care of it all for everyone, great team player. This JCPenney sells everything from clothes, shoes, sephora makeup, and more. Very busy during the holiday times every year. They also sell jewelry and some home goods. I like it for what it is. Barely a collection of colognes here but I am content. Nice sephora in the store. No designers at all but I like izod also they have a nice selection of ties, bow ties, handkerchiefs and cuff links. Also I've had a good experience with their hair salon. This is my favorite JC Penney in the whole region compared to Hayward or Newark. I just wish JC Penney would overall refine their image and atmosphere like Macy's. read more

Shame on you JC Penny... really concerned with the quality of employees you are hiring. No matter how many new brands or trendy labels you introduce to your department stores - No one will ever shop at a store with horrible customer service & disrespectful/rude employees....! I visited this location, this past Saturday - my sister's and I decided to take my Mom shopping for her birthday. What a mistake to bring her to JC Penny, a mistake the will surely NOT be repeated. The associate that rang up my Mom's final purchase was named BIRKIT. For starters, the employee did not greet us when we approached the counter, did not thank us for the business.... all minor offenses; until we get to the disrespectful manner in which she addressed my Mother. While in the middle of the transaction, my Mother had asked Birkit if she was able to use multiple coupons which she had received from earlier purchases that day. Birkit, rudely responded, "Of course not, I don't know why you would think that." Then turning to me, my Mother said... "I didn't know, I just wanted to ask her." Only to be rudely interrupted by the employee; "I don't know why that is such a surprise to you.." We were is complete shock, that someone would even respond like that to us. Once the transaction was completed, we stood off to the side to review the receipt. We wanted to verify she included her name on the receipt. -conveniently she left it off. While standing off to the side, we then watched as the employee turned to the other 4+ associates at the counter and begin to recap the situation to the other employees; "that lady was crazy, I don't know why she thought she could use multiple coupons" She then continued to make fun of the question my mother had asked.... It's nice to know that JC Penny's payroll is being spend standing around making fun of customers. Instead of servicing the waiting customers. Each time we purchased something in JC Penny, we waited 10mins. I have contacted there 800 number, and the store's manager.... still waiting for a response..... read more

After having a child, your image of your body image gets thrown out the window. I'm sorry it just does. What I thought would work for me in the bathing suit department really was an eye opening experience. I had read in a magazine recently that JC Penney Co has a very nice selection of bathing suits that will be perfect for the, how you say, in between phase of life for women. I'm not back to normal but I'm not as fat as I was when I had the little bambino. The selection was nice and I'm sure I could have found the exact suit....if they had any sizes larger than medium. I found so many I loved I just couldn't even try any on. I couldn't even find any larger sizes of what I wanted and have my sister hold them in just a way that they would fit me. The one I did find that fit had a huge white streak across the back. Eww and I tried it on before I saw it! Hugely disappointing, kind of like my ass, thighs and tummy. I know its summer and maybe they cant keep up with the demand. There was a dress I found and was going to buy but the line was so long and I couldn't find a bathing suit any way so I just threw it on a rack and walked out. To bad for you JC Penney. This is rare were in most store you a) can't get the help and b) staff doesn't have the knowledge to assist. In the women's loungirae Danielle is the person to seek out. We were going to drop a few hundred bucks on this ring and we were looking for help. The two women who were working the jewelry counter were very short with us, rude and ill informed. Unfortunately they do not do any registering in store any longer it is all online and they don't have a way people can print out a registry in store to see what you have registered for. So you can't scan anything you may like that you see to add it to your registry and guests can't go to the store and view your registry. In my opinion they are going to lose a lot of business by eliminating this. I tried to look around but I knew I would never remember everything I was looking at to add it to my online registry and I didn't want my guests to have to hassle with showing up at the store only to find out they needed to print out the registry from their website before going. This review is for the Sephora that is located in the store. The customer service was a total disappointment because there were none. I went there on a Thursday night ready to get some tinted moisturizer, a regular moisturizer and some blush. I stood in front of the moisturizer aisle for ten minutes browsing through them, and all I heard was two sales talking to each other about boys and gifts from boys. Okay...sorry for eavedropping but um, it was pretty darn loud consider it's businss hour. I guess neither saw me and I didn't want to break their conversation apart, so I decided to walk around to see if any of them would ask me if I need help. Both the sales saw me looping slowly, and neither of them came up to me and asked if I need help. Okay, so at this point, I decided to randomly pick up stuff to read the ingredients, hoping to get ANY attentions. NOPE, that didn't work out either. So I decided to walk around the store some more. And seriously the store is not that big in there, so I went through aisles by aisles, corner to corner. Neither of them care to look at me and neither of them drop their conversation. JCP is great for top deals! Always clean and great customer service. I love looking through clearance racks. Amazingly, it's very organized according to size. You can really get a lot of great clothing items, super duper cheap! I purchased workout pants for $10., tank tops for $3., and a cute sweatshirt for $5. There are clearance racks in each department of the store. In need of a family portrait? This is the only place I go! I've been coming to the portrait studio here for 6 years now. Sharon is the best! She always makes the portraits with my child priceless. Great props, natural smiles and she takes her time to capture the perfect photo. Her customer service is outstanding.
