I've only ever reviewed a few places, but since the 2 weeks since I moved, I have become exhausted with the damage and errors from this company.
The day of, they arrived, it started the way I was told it would. They asked what was going and what was not. I was on the second floor in a open walkway, with the stairs just in front of my door. I had put items they were NOT taking completely out of the way further down the walkway. There was also an area in the corner of the apartment where I was gathering additional items I was taking personally. I was behind in packing and I knew I would be paying for more than the minimum 3 hours! Which I was happy to at the time! They started and were moving so fast, the first load of boxes with large fragile stickers went falling over off the dolly. I asked them all to slow down! I didn't want anyone getting hurt down or up the stairs or items breaking. From there it was just downhill.. one of the movers was so rude, and had a horrible attitude. When they went to move the treadmill, I told them it needed to be laid flat. They didn't know how to put the tread down and I went to show them, when one of them kicked the hinge faster than I could stop him and broke the slow close hinge. By the time we were almost done I was just uncomfortable. I didn't want to be one of "those" homeowners and tried to just keep my mouth shut. I walked outside and all the items I had planned to take myself were gone!! Including the few boxes I was putting odd and ends in while they were working! The man with the attitude said he had repackaged the items and used the plastic bins!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! the other items were in the truck! I wanted to cry! Then it was time to move my 1930's stove! The owner of the company said they moved antiques and I didn't need to get the appliance company for an additional charge. Needles to say, they banged it around, were careless, and chipped enamel off both sides. They had put the burners and drip pans in the kitchen trash can durning the move.. that was fine! But when I took them out, I realized they had put them in the can over food trash!. I didn't notice all the tape along the right side of the stove until I cooked for the first time and went to clean! The right side is against the counter, so I wouldn't have looked there since they moved it in place. I know I signed the paperwork when they went to leave! But I didn't even think I should look at everything including unpacking boxes before I signed! That night I went to move the entertainment center and it was all pulled apart. The sides were loose and the top was just sitting on top. We can't fix it and have glued it together! It was about 1 year old! When I turned the small storage drawers in the closet around, I saw all the scratches in the metal and chip off the front top. It's taken about 2 weeks to completely move in since we were still finishing construction. The box that "had the bed hardware" was missing hardware! I found the missing bolts at the old location! Took 3 boxes to find all the power and cables for the living room and bedroom electronics! Still can't find the Roku power cord or the cord for the bed lights. I spoke to the owner 2 days after the move. He barely cared. It was 1/4 apology and 3/4 why non of it is his responsibility! My favorite was "once furniture is put together it's no longer new!" Most of my furniture are antiques. I was lead to believe they moved antiques and expensive items!!?? Even the things they took when they shouldn't weren't his problem. Since I've found so many things since we spoke, I decided to do this review. Hindsight is cruel, I should have rented an additional truck as I have one, a few guys and done it myself. read more
