Called to get electrical work done and check wiring to see what was causing issues on a newly purchased dryer. Could not find what the issue was, but replaced the outlet and breakers at the panel, and said it was good to go. Also indicated that if issue still occurs then just reach out and he will come back and finish the work for free. Sounded reassuring, so paid for the job as quoted, and he went on his way. Dryer still did not work, so called technician for the dryer to come out. Within minutes, he tested the outlet, and said the power giving out on one side was too much. Had to call back Jay's Electric to get him to come back out and get the job done. Promised to come next day since it got too busy, understandable, so I waited next day. Wanted to get it done in the morning, waited all morning until about noon, then without any response I let him know it's okay to come on Monday instead, since it was the weekend and a Saturday. He agreed. Come Monday, no call, no show. So I called Jay's again which immediately got rejected to voicemail with a text saying he will call me back. That was around noon. Waiting 2-3 hours, still no call no text, so I texted him back again. No response...
I think at the bare minimum, if you cannot do the job, be honest and say you don't know what the issue is, and just leave it at that. Failed to test the outlet first to find out it was giving out different voltage, then failed to come back as promised to finish the job. Terrible experience. I'm glad others are getting great experience from him, and perhaps he's more familiar with smaller issues or installation. But if you have a more problematic issue, I'd try to look elsewhere to get it done, which is what I did and my electrical works perfectly now with my new dryer. Hope it was a one-off, and hope this review help you improve on what you're doing.
This was an electrical current issue for a 240V 3-prong causing a new electric dryer to not function correctly at a commercial building. Like I said, every job might be different, and overall the experience while he was here was pleasant. It might just be that the job is too difficult so if you're looking for an electrician, Jay's Electric may still work for you. Just make sure the job's complete before he leaves. read more
