The place is very cramped and more of a patio hangout. Not good for dinner, but if you want a snack with your drink, they got it. But no more Meemaw's Beer Cheese?! What in tarnation is happening?! Is Brittany getting this in the divorce or is Jax being petty? And why not print new menus instead of using a black sharpie to cross it out? So tacky, also quite dirty--apparently no one is cleaning menus there either. Yuck! This is why you should always wash your hands after ordering your food--if you choose to order after seeing a dirty menu. On the positive side, a good place for a Tom Schwartz siting. They have a fun location with various places to sit and hangout- whether you want indoor or outdoor. I love how they've decorated. It's super fun and they have a great selection of cocktails. Several TV's are available if you want to watch sporting events. We went on a Saturday afternoon and a good amount of people were also enjoying the atmosphere here. Popped in here with one of my favorite people in the world, but especially LA. I'd seen Jax's next to Rocco's a few times, but never thought to stop in. Near the corner of Whitsett Avenue/Ventura Blvd - It's got a great outdoor patio layout with a mix of outdoor casual meets semi chic meet sports bar. The inside is very vibrant with a full bar on one end with seating and booths throughout along the wall... It's giving mellow nightclub lounge inside party on the outside. Arriving first I scoped out the place just a few minutes after they opened and grab a nice spot around the plants across from some heat lamps and long beach tables. Sarah arrived a little later and I just got us some water to start. We had some pretty okay cocktails. Paired up with the Mediterranean plate, veggies and Sarah's choice of Soft Street Pretzel... We had plenty. I didn't notice a lot of spelled out vegan options just a small couple by default as well as for vegetarian items. I expected a good amount being in Studio City. They do have a beyond burger... Not sure if they can modify salads (hold the cheese) or about the Buffalo Cauliflower... But seem like worth inquiring about. Our server was incredible the entire night. I'm/we're definitely grateful for her and a fun night out. Super attentive, friendly and caring. I remember she's from Chicago and might also be a manager here. Erin is astounding. The bathrooms are nice - gender neutral sink area in one part and individual use restrooms across from it. Natural small plant life meets earthy jungle vibes. Parking is street, meters are sparse but you'll get lucky, but a ride share is your friend. Open daily at 5pm throughout the week and as early as Noon on weekends until close. I've never really seen or gotten into the Vanderpump franchise, but we did run into Jax and he seemed like a decent guy overall. A bit surprised they don't highlight their staff as much as friends, patrons, and public figures. I would pop in again for a drink or happy hour situation... The margaritas are delicious. I'm not crazy about the food, pretty much the exact same menu as Rocco's next door. Bar pub style eats and bites including pizza, sandwiches, salads, wings, burgers, flat bread and loads of appetizers (like tacos). Trivia Thursday as well as Karaoke Mondays sound super fun. I've been to Jax's a handful of times and I do have to admit, without the show The Valley....I probably would have never come to this bar. In terms of location, it's literally at the END of the strip of restaurant and bars on ventura. So if you are looking to do some bar hopping in walking distance, it's not going to happen. The drinks are pretty mediocre, the names of the drinks are more intriguing than their actual taste. They have unisex bathrooms, and there are only 2 stalls. I've never been here and it be crazy busy, but I couldn't imagine the line that would form if there were over 50 people here. Overall, if you watch or follow any of the valley cast, it's fun to check out this bar once but it wouldn't be my go to. read more

I have recently really gotten into Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. I was in the area and my co-worker (who is also a fan) pointed out Jax's to me. I knew we had to go over there after our event. We wandered over to Jax's around 9ish on Thursday. It was pretty dead for a Thursday night, but I wanted to just hang out and soak in the ambiance. So, it was perfect for me. There is a bar inside and seating area out inside and outside. I grabbed a drink and decided to sit outside. While I was the bar, my co-worker randomly asked if Jax was going to be there (as a joke), and the bartender acknowledged and said that Jax and Tom Schwartz would be there in about an an hour and a half. The fangirl in me definitely wanted to see them, so we decided to wait. The drinks were just OK (average for LA-adjacent prices). We didn't get food because we had just eaten, but I saw some other tables and it looked pretty good. The restrooms were disgusting. The bartenders were pretty nice. About 2 hours later, Jax showed up with a party bus (I guess they were doing an event where they were going to go to several bars in VPR with Jax's being the last stop). Once Jax showed up, the mood shifted a little. It was hard to get the bartender's attention because they were catering to the party bus (we wanted to buy a souvenir shirt but had a hard time tracking down someone). Jax was there and was not super welcoming (not surprising, but I thought he would surprise me). We left shortly after. But, on my way out, we ran into Tom Schwartz, who was super chill and he took photos with us. Would I go back here again? Probably not my first choice to come back here. While upon walking in the vibes were there, this place left much missing and I will definitely never be walking back in again. Ordered: 1. Amaretto sour. They clearly use a premade sour mix and the bartender didn't even bother shaking it. It was basically amaretto in a cup with ice. 2. Spicy marg. Gross. 3. Memaw's beer cheese. Memaw is probably rolling over in her grave this was so, so bad. It was hardened and scooped out from a tub that had probably been sitting in a fridge for weeks. Who serves cold chunky beer cheese?? The sliders were simple but good. The artichoke was okay. And the Bianca flatbread was fine. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't great? When you're drunk watching sports the food would be solid, but if you're having a chill night, the food is just fine. Atmosphere OK the location is what makes you feel awkward. I guess it's difficult to run a proper bar when you have a sober alcoholic, making your drink menu. Don't put your name on the door if you can't serve proper drinks. This doesn't even feel like it belongs in LA. I came here for a friend's birthday event. Bill Bellamy to be exact. Street parking but also had valet. They had a red carpet with the photo set up. There was plenty of heated seating in their patio and the decor, as soon as you walk in, there was tons of seating as well and even inside the building. The only thing was there was tons of people there and there was only two restrooms and it was very tight in there. The restrooms were also unisex. Decor is cool. Tons of places to get photos. Sometimes a 3 star review is looked at as a negative. But I honestly had a positive experience at Jax's Studio City. In case you do not want to read a detailed review, my reasoning for 3 stars is because it is just ok. Would I go out of my way to bring someone here? No. Not because its bad but because there are better options out there. If you are a Vanderpump Rules fan, you should come check this place out at least once. The food menu was extensive which I appreciated. There were plenty of options which would appeal to many tastes. My party had Mamaw's Beer Cheese, Greek Salad, and some kind of Truffle Fries. They were all great but nothing to write home about. I would be curious to try some of the other food here as well. They seemed to have some other yummy options. Curious about the Beer cheese? It is a traditional Kentucky Beer Cheese and is served cold. The overall taste reminded me of the cheese that comes in the snack packs for kids with the little pretzel sticks. It tasted like American Cheese and no clear beer flavor. That might appeal to someone but it wasn't really my cup of tea. The pretzel it came with though was very good, soft and warm. The drinks I had were The Brittany: Sweet Tea and Espresso Martini. Both solid drinks but ultimately nothing amazing about them. I came here on a Saturday at about 3/4pm. It was a little slow. The ambiance is nice and the decor is nice as well. Again, I would come here if someone wanted to check it out or if we were nearby. I really wanted to be blown away. Came here on a Thursday night around 7, and there was a good amount of people. We sat at the booth under Jax's neon name, and it was a good spot. It wasn't too busy so it was nice. I got a watermelon margarita, which was super strong and had a watermelon after taste (not complaining) and Jax's Italian fries and the cheesy bread sticks. The fries were really good! The aioli was amazing. The cheesy breadsticks were meh but still somewhat good. The staff were super friendly! We left at about 9 and it start d to get more crowded (of course haha). My friends got Brittany's iced tea and the spicy margarita and they said they were really good and strong as well. Parking: there is street parking/meters and it was somewhat hard to find a spot. It's important to note that Jax is basically conjoined with Rocco's in Studio City. Previously, this space was Rocco's later-night, adjunct "speakeasy." Now, though it gives the appearance of a different business, Jax still serves the menu from Rocco's, so one presumes this higher tone, comfier space is but a spinoff. That said, there's nothing wrong with having a lounge-like alternative to the lower-down, sports bar vibe... and it is, indeed, a very comfortable place to relax and watch a game, with couches and pillows and an easy-going crowd that included puppies and babies. But... We had a server who seemed hopelessly like a deer caught in headlights. I'm generally pretty forgiving of waitstaff, as they work terribly hard for not enough money, and put up with a whole heck of a lot of unpleasant people. But ours truly seemed confused by every request (none of which were particularly complex), and she disappeared for long periods of time while other servers in our vicinity appeared far more attentive to their customers. In fact, one of the other servers brought drink refills to us at a point when our gal was MIA. Okay, so we landed a dud of a server compared to others who were clearly doing much better by their tables. It happens. C'est la vie. But then there was the food. Like it's sister space, Rocco's, Jax, is primarily a pizza joint that also offers a small menu of traditional sports bar/college crowd things like wings and burgers, etc. We started with the Cauliflower Wings, which were pleasantly made and a perfectly enjoyable appetizer. The buffalo sauce was mildly spicy (I would have liked even more heat), and the Ranch dressing side was appropriately herbaceous and cooling. If not truly memorable, these veggie wings were satisfying in the moment. Then came the pizza... and, as my father would say on Thanksgiving drives when we hit traffic on the way to my cousins, the party was over. Our pizza (1/2 cheese, 1/2 sausage & jalapeño) was disappointingly bland. Though we requested a "well-done pizza," the pie came conspicuously UNDER-done. And, though it ultimately did have a slightly crispier crust, this pizza was, overall, forgettable. Sauce, cheese and toppings all seemed middle of the road. Just a few weeks before, we had visited several of the city's top-rated Pizza Places, so this really paled by comparison. My Tip: If you're going to watch a game, eat somewhere else first and then pop into Jax for a comfortable landing zone with plenty of screens and some decently made cocktails. Went there for the first time about two months ago and I was pleasantly surprised by how good my chicken wings turned out! I specifically ordered all flats, extra well done wings and they came out perfect. Their sauce was so good which was a plus. There was a guest that might've been a little buzzed and was a bit overly friendly and talkative, but the bartender stepped in and asked that he leave me alone especially when my food came out. I thought he was a frequent client given the nature of how comfortable he was, but she told me that that was her first time ever seeing him lol! So I loved that the staff was tuned in and noticed that this patron could have easily interfered with my dining experience. Shout out to the bartender, I don't remember her name, but it was on the early afternoon on Saturday, May 10th. We sat and ate at the bar while she served us & helped run interference on the the one chatty patron lol! Look forward to going back and having some more of those wings! After wanting to give this place a try today we decided it was time. My husband and I are fans of both Vanderpump Rules and The Valley we had to give this place a try. We live down the street and were excited. It is an extension of Rocco's an already loved Valley restaurant. Once we walked in we were quickly greeted by a nice waitress. It was open seating at the time as we went during lunch hour so we decided to sit inside. The waitress quickly came to take our drink orders. I ordered the Blackberry Bourbon drink and it was delicious. We ordered the calamari as appetizer. We then ordered the 10 inch pepperoni pizza and the Mediterranean salad. It was all delicious. As longtime fans of Vanderpump Rules, my friend and I were beyond excited to visit LA for a VPR crawl and our first stop was Jax's Studio City. While the location is a little out of the way, our experience was phenomenal. I absolutely love that this bar is both a chic, IG worthy spot for cocktails and a sports bar all in one. While there was only one bartender working at the time, our drinks came quickly. The margaritas were outstanding! As a fan of the show, my friend and I were completely in shock to meet Jax in person. Initially, I felt a little embarrassed to ask for a picture, however Jax was extremely welcoming and friendly. In addition to Jax, we also saw a few cast members of The Valley. When I walked by Jax's bar, I knew the name sounded so familiar. And then I saw Jax himself, and it all made sense! Jax was so kind in answering our questions about his new bar. He invited us to come back at night to check it out and enjoy the DJ. We couldn't pass up the offer. The best part of this new gem in Studio City is the ambiance. The outdoor area feels like a sports lover's paradise with its man-cave vibes with more TVs than you'd ever ask for! Even better, apparently it's dog friendly so all our furry friends can join in on the fun. Inside, the ambiance is more tropical loungey. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced, which after meeting Brittany (who is also a sweetheart), we found out that this was intentional so that everyone can enjoy indulging. The best part is the DJ and room for dancing, which is hard to come by in Studio City, let alone the entire San Fernando Valley. I will have to inquire on which nights they have a DJ. After an eventful day in LA, my fiancé and I were craving some drinks and bar food on the drive home. Jax's Studio City checked the boxes so we decided to stop by. Arriving around 8pm, it was pretty slow so we were able to get a nice corner couch seat next to the TV. We were immediately greeted by a kind blonde server (name?) who was very attentive! My fiancé and I shared espresso martinis to start, and ordered a 10pc wings, onion rings, and small Greek salad. The "small" Greek salad was a solid dinner portion, the wings (half bbq half Garlic Parmesan) were crispy and well coated, and the onion rings were big, crispy, and well coated. The espresso martinis were smooth and ice cold. The main highlight of the night was an appearance from the man himself! Jax arrived at the restaurant an hour after we did and took the time to greet each group in there. After having a quick conversation with us, he surprised us with two Margaritas as an engagement present! He even offered to take a photo with us and cracked some jokes. Overall memorable night, the service, food, and drinks are all excellent. Jax stopping by and being a true standup guy was the cherry on top! Jax's Studio City earned my recommendation! read more

Love the vibe of Jax's Studio City. Inside you feel like you are in a trendy bar with sparkling lights and booths - in the outdoor space you feel like your in your favorite neighbors backyard. We went when they opened at 5pm - loved the mellow vibe and the welcoming staff. We started with a drink at the bar and then moved to the outdoor patio to enjoy the food. As the night went on the crowd grew and things got more active, so it really appeals to all types! Jax's shares their kitchen with Rocco's next door but there are a few items that you can only get at Jax and highly recommend that you first take a look at this menu - we tried the Mamaw's Beer Cheese and a flatbread off of it. Both were great, i know everyone is going to be raving about the beer cheese but i'd like to give a shoutout to the side pretzel, pretty darn delicious! I went on a Saturday night around 10, there was a lot of people there but no DJ, and no outside heating that I could see or feel so it was extremely cold. They added heaters for the outside seating and had a DJ on Saturday I would go often . I did feel a little out of place because everybody there was a lot older, I would say mid 40s but again I think they don't have enough to draw in the younger crowd. The drinks were expensive for the location, I ordered a mule and a cranberry vodka and it was over $30. please get a dj. We first ordered drinks and food at the bar, had food brought to us with no number she just asked what general area we would be sitting it. Later on in the evening had a sever assigned to us. I had the Brittney tea which was delish and my husband's spicy margarita was def too spicy for me but he liked it. One Star - Never Again I rarely leave bad reviews, but this place absolutely earned it. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed disinterested and overwhelmed, even though the place was only 1/4 full. We waited nearly 15 minutes just to get menus, and another 20 before anyone came back to take our order. The food was a huge letdown--greasy, bland, and definitely not worth the price. My burger was overcooked and dry, and the fries tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp all day. My friend's wings were flabby and flavorless. To top it all off, the drinks were weak and overpriced. I'm not sure how they managed to mess up a simple espresso martini, but they did. The atmosphere is nothing special--dim lighting and loud music that makes conversation nearly impossible. We checked out Jax's for the first time while visiting LA today and it did not disappoint. The amphitheater was amazing, the vibes were great. The drinks were delicious & and the pretzel & beer cheese was mouthwatering. The staff were friendly and they were on top of everything.
