My boyfriend left hungry. I ate the food, but I won't return. The restaurant is clean! The sweet tea was nice and sweet. But my boyfriend felt the fish was extremely bland and without taste or seasoning. He ordered the cod platter with a side of shrimp and fries. I ordered the cod sandwich which also came with fries. To me it was meh. When asked for a roll to go with his fish platter my boyfriend was told they could not provide toasted bread. He was given the bread, but learned it could only be toasted for the sandwiches. I swear you can't make this stuff up. The cashier did their best to resolve but nonetheless it just wasn't a place that we have to return. There are way too many other good places to get fish in Jax.

Jax fish fry is a local gem with absolutely fantastic lobster rolls and fish rolls. Super small menu makes ordering a breeze. Their potato wedges are absolutely stellar as well. For the money, this lobster roll is hands-down the best value for money in the city! This review pertains to the Baymeadows location, but they also have a location off of 210 in St John's county. Support local and get yourself a cod or lobster roll today!

I went here with my grandma to try this place out for the first time. I have been wanting to try it and my grandma loves fish and chips so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to go. We ordered one of each. Cod basket, shrimp basket, lobster roll, and a chocolate moouse for dessert. Everything was so fresh and good! The shrimp was jumbo and not rubbery. The fish was great. The lobster roll was bomb! I save it for the next day because I couldn't finish it and it was still so so good! The chocolate mousse dessert, OMG melts in your melt. Tastes like heaven. I highly and definitely recommend this place! Will come back again :)

I stopped by Jax Fish Fry for the first time on Saturday. Happy to report that it lived up to the hype! My first impression? Loved the esthetic & it was spotless I knew what I was ordering before I arrived - the Lobster Lovers Roll (Maine lobster, celery, mayonnaise, chives, & seasonings on a grilled split top potato roll). All of the rolls are served with the most unique fries I've ever had. They are closer in width to a potato chip & delicious. But the star of the show is of course, the lobster roll. I'm not a celery or chives fan but that wasn't an issue because the lobster is so lightly dressed. The roll was honestly perfect from the sweet lobster to the soft, toasted bun *Note for the Diet Coke fiends. I am a recovering DCF who only partakes in a fountain DC occasionally nowadays. They have Coke Zero as the diet soda option, so I drank tea instead.

After our travel plans were unexpectedly canceled due to a Gulf hurricane, we found solace at Jax Fish Fry. Craving that vacation-style fried seafood, we ordered a fried shrimp basket and lobster roll basket. The shrimp* were perfectly crispy, and the lobster roll--oh my! The buttery toasted potato bun held generous chunks of lobster meat. Jax Fish Fry's cozy ambiance and amazing staff made us feel right at home. The lobster roll stole the show--buttery, flavorful, and nestled in that perfect potato bun. And the shrimp? Fry chef's kiss. Lightly coated, letting the natural flavor shine through. We'll definitely be back to scratch that seafood itch! This place lives up to the hype! Everything is fresh and delicious.

Overall pretty darn good. I came with some friends for lunch and was craving some fresh seafood. I asked before I ordered if the cod was fresh or brought in frozen and they informed me that it was brought in weekly fresh. I found it nice that they bread the shrimp and fish to order. I wanted to try a couple things so I ordered the cod, shrimp, chips, hush puppies, and coleslaw. The fish was good. I do not like a lot of breading so I like the really light breading. the shrimp was well cooked and tasty. The fries had no salt which we all wanted so I asked for some packets. The coleslaw was okay but just wasn't my thing. I was bummed that the Hugh puppies tasted like frozen ones from the supermarket. They had no flavor whatsoever and I watched them just come out of a bag. My friends got a strip basket and the other got the chicken basket. One said the shrimp needed more breading so if we go back she may ask for it to be double breaded. The other friend liked the chicken but they are mass produced chicken strips out of a bag. Definitely go for the fish and have some patience because we found that they only make one order at a time so it was about 5 minutes between each of our orders so it was different having to wait 15 minutes for all of us to get our food.

Good food, ok service. Employees were nice, but we had to go back up for missing items more than once (beer, then the ranch we ordered). Food: Good. Lobster rolls were good, some chewy pieces this time which I didn't love. Fish sandwich was yummy, shrimp was good but not great (smaller, not as flavorful as some others). Sauces as very good Environment: Nice, casual, clean.

I had this placed marked for a time when I was close, well that day was today. When I looked, I saw a menu with a lobster roll for $11, but when I saw current menu it was $18. Yes, I was looking at an old menu but I soldiered on. Service was very pleasant and all questions were answered. And after I placed my order (lobster roll and fries) they pointed me to a sauce bar ......instant game changer. If you have read my other reviews you know I am going to try them all so I can report back. So guess what, here I go: Fries - nib style, like a curled thick potato chip. Perfect for scooping sauce. Jax Sauce - not got me, consistency was weird and the taste was not for me. Ketchup - it was ketchup, thick and good Remoulade - oh my gosh, SO GOOD I could bath in it. Lobster Roll - served cold, I like cold lobster, I did not like the flavor. But guess what, in the roulade sauce it was freaking awesome. The price of the lobster threw me, but the sauces were amazing. Park is a bit tricky and please get over the office strip center, it is clean and sharp inside.

We were in the area and found this place by searched for lobster rolls on Yelp. We WERE VERY happy with everything about this place. The service was top notch, you can tell the people working there care about what they're doing. I got the Lobster Roll because that's what I was looking for in the first place. It was exactly what I wanted. Big chunks of lobster, on a good roll with just enough sauce. My girlfriend had the Shrimp Roll and she said she lived that the shrimp wasn't breaded too much. She referred to it as "the perfect amount of breading". I tried onion rings as a side and she got the fries. After trying both, I'd definitely go with the fries next time. The onion rings weren't bad, but I liked the fries way better. We will he visit visiting this place again and soon!

How's the lobster rolls? I'm wanting a New England style Lobster Roll.

My wife likes them very much. Like lobster anywhere they are expensive. This is a great little restaurant. Delicious seafood. The fried cod is terrific and they have a unique way of doing their french fries. Highly recommend.

Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment.

I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.

I loved it! The concept is you order cookies or ice cream or a cookie ice cream sandwich. I ordered the snicker doodle cookies and I can't remember which ice cream but it was so yummy! They have a cute outdoor area with games and seating and music, which is a total vibe. The workers were very welcoming, and I would definitely come back for a little sweet treat!

I love being surprised by not only the flavors that Ray concocts but the great names he gives them. On this visit I had Thin Lizzy. Minty fresh ice cream with chunks of Girl Scout thin mints, creamy & minty. My husband decided to grab a pint from their freezer of chocolate with a name like James Brown . We brought friends this time who had never been here before and really loved it. One had his ice cream between 2 big chocolate chip cookies making it a giant flying saucer. (Toppings are included with this like chocolate sauce or sprinkles.) I only wish they were open during the day ( hours are usually 6/7 pm til 10/11) because sometimes you just want ice cream during the day.
